Aleda & Verdan Log 1 Aleda Aleda flew through the air, with no particular destination in mind. When the sun glinted off the water, she veered toward it, deciding that she could use a drink. Verdan Verdan, already at the river, kicked at the water idally, not noticing that he was about to have company. Aleda She drifted to a landing and eyed the odd dragon skeptically for a moment before striding forward. Verdan The movement caught his attention and he looked up before smiling charmingly. "Well, hello there." Aleda "Greetings," Aleda nodded slightly at him before lowering her head to take a drink. Verdan "I'm Verdan, and you are?" He asked, knowing from experience that they could play this back and forth game for awhile. Verdan "Aleda," he repeated, nearly purring. "That's a beautiful name. Does it mean anything?" Aleda "If it does, then I don't know," she shrugged her shoulders and resettled her wings. Verdan "Sounds like the name of an angel," Verdan guessed, musingly. "It suits you." ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 2 Aleda "Thank you?" Aleda eyed him skeptically, not certain how to take such a compliment from a virtual stranger. "Does Verdan mean anything?" Verdan "Green, I think," he chuckled. Aleda "Ah… well, it suits you then," Aleda offered a small smile. Verdan He returned the smile with entusiasm. "I thought so, too. I’m fairly certain my mother named me. She has… an interesting way of doing things. Verdan "She takes after my grandfather Raenef, ah but you don't want to hear all this, I'm sure." Aleda "No, it's fine," she smiled. "I find stories of families interesting." Verdan "Then I'm sure you would find mine fasinating," he grimaced. "Everyone seems to swing in extremes." Verdan "Personalities," he explained. "They're all either very serious, very sweet, or very… innocent." ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 3 Aleda "That sounds rather…. Choatic." Verdan "Oh, it is," he sighed. "But you get used to it, I suppose. There's always something going on." Aleda "Sounds lovely. You have a large family?" Verdan "Very large," he chuckled. "I have five sisters, and that's not counting aunts and uncles." Aleda "Five sisters, huh? I'm envious." Verdan "Don't be," he winced again. "You don't have any siblings?" Aleda "Just one sister," she admitted. "We don't talk much anymore. Both of my mothers were fairly distant." Verdan "Not a whole lot of family experience then?" Aleda "Not really… it's why I find the families of others so interesting." Verdan "That makes sense," he chuckled. "I have plenty of stories if you'd like to hear?" ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 4 Aleda "That would be lovely!" she smiled. "If you would be willing, at least." Verdan "More than willing," he smiled. "If you don't mind my griping." Aleda "I've discovered that the closer the family, the more comfortable they are complaining about each other." Verdan "Really? I would have thought it would be the opposite." Aleda "Well, that's true as well. Those with difficult families do complain, but it's a different sort of griping." Aleda "Well, you complain, but I can still hear the love in your voice. If you really didn't care for your sisters, then you wouldn't sound so affectionate." Verdan Verdan considered that for a long moment before nodding slightly. I can see how that would be the case. " Aleda "I'm glad you think so," she smiled slightly. "Some would have argued the point with me. It can be a bit disconcerting when that happens." Verdan "You don't enjoy a good argument?" Verdan asked teasingly. ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 5 Aleda "A good argument every so often, most certainly. But the moment it goes beyond a friendly debate…" Verdan "Then it's no longer enjoyable," Verdan nodded understandingly. Verdan "Well, I'm not big for philosophical debates, but a good argument every now and again… I do enjoy playing devil's advocate." Aleda "That's not so bad, I suppose," Aleda said, thoughtfully. Verdan "Unless, of course, the other person doesn't realize that's what you're doing." Aleda "Well, then, I guess that could lead to some problems." Verdan "Oh, yes," he smiled wryly. "They usually take your arguments very seriously and then it builds into a real argument." Aleda "And that's unplesant," she nodded, then frowned. "Unless, of course you enjoy such arguments?" Verdan "That depends on whether or not I'm bored," he admitted. "For example, right now I wouldn't." ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 6 Verdan "Because, that would mean that I was arguing with you," he smiled. "And that wouldn't be much fun at all." Aleda "I'm… not certain I understand," she admitted with a flush. Verdan "I'm enjoying our conversation. An argument would only ruin that, wouldn't you agree?" Aleda "Well, I could argue," she joked, lightly. Verdan He chuckled at that, appreciating her humor. Aleda "Alright, so you come from a large family, and enjoy an argument depending on the circumstances." Verdan "That's me in a nutshell," he agreed. "And you come from a small family, don't much care for arguments, and are stunningly beatuiful." Aleda "I'm sorry?" she blinked, thrown off by that last one. Verdan "Never appologize for being so lovely," he teased her gently. "Be proud of it." ~End Log~

Aleda & Verdan Log 7 Aleda She flushed a bit more deeply. "Thank you?" Verdan "Not used to being complimentned?" Verdan guessed, surprised. Aleda "No, not really," she admitted. Verdan "I must admit, I'm shocked. Who have you been associating with that no one complimented you?" Aleda "Not many people, actually. I prefer to keep to myself when I can." Verdan "You don't like company?" Aleda "It's not so much that I don't like company as company doesn't much like me." Verdan "I'm afraid I don't understand." Aleda "Somehow, I always seem to say the wrong thing when I talk to people. Eventually my ignorance insites an argument." Verdan "And you don't like arguments," Verdan remembered. ~End Log~

Aleda "Only because I haven't offended you yet," Aleda guessed. "Give it time." Aleda "Past experience has told me that such things always happen." Aleda "Always," she nodded, firmly.
