CleoSombra I suggest you PM a developer so they can disable: All swear words (as they offend some people) "Black person" (because someone will say it's racist) "Man" or "Woman" (because someone could bring something sexist out of it) All religions (because someone could say a religious slur And a couple thousand more.     I'm not offended by those things.
However, swear words are blockable.
And saying someone is 'black' has yet to be a racial slur. Nor does identifying as a man or a woman. Good luck arguing those points. So far you're failing.

Divine_Malevolence And how would you suggest that be avoided? As it would probably be better if you suggested a solution rather then just shooting everything down and delaying any and all progress. 'Cuz, at the moment, you're basically saying that ranting isn't allowd on the entire site, including in profiles, the one subforum, and everywhere. No hateful or inflammatory ranting is allowed.
And I already suggested that it should only be allowed as long as ranting about people or groups of people were not permitted in rants, along with rants about race/sexuality/religion/politics.

Either way, it is up to the owner and the Mods of this Guild to make the Rant Thread or Subforum.
It is THEIR choice and if they want to make it, well, there ya go.
We have a rant thread.
If not, then we are just going to keep taking up more space in the Guild with random rants and bitching.
If you don't want to read it or have anything to do with it, that is your choice, if you do, then get to reading/posting.
Do remember, there WILL be rules when/if it is made so certain things won't be allowed.
No one here is going to post something to flame or embarrass someone and be completely hateful.
People in this Guild are smart, they are not stupid.

Exactly.
I was actually getting really annoyed and offended that I was being called a Vile, horrible person.
Along with everyone else when I know damn well, we're not horrible people. gonk

Nowhere in the Gaia ToS does it state, "Ranting is not allowed." You are not allowed to flame, which is being DIRECTLY insulting. If you need an example, then let's say I said to Cleo, "You're a stupid b***h!" That would be a flame. Saying, "This person that I met is such a b***h, I freakin' hate her!" is not a flame. It is not prohibited by Gaia's ToS, nor the Rules and Regulations. And has been said MULTIPLE times... you don't have to read any rant thread. No one is forcing you to. If you don't want to read them, don't. That is all there is to it. Perhaps I don't have to read it.
But again, hateful or derrogatory content is reportable and can get this guild shut down. Nope. If the guild itself were hateful, yes. But a single post will be removed, and the user warned. The guild will remain intact. Besides, if you don't want to see something hateful, then don't go in there. Don't argue against something you won't even use anyway. It's like those people arguing against Gay Marriage. Ranting in itself cannot be considered against the ToS. If you have a problem, you put the problem out, and you discuss it. If anyone has thin enough skin to be insulted by something that has absolutely nothing to do with them, they should stay out of the rant thread/subforum. It's like Cleo saying your font color insults her. Or it's like me saying the picture in your post-style offends me, or like me saying that your avatar offends me because of how nude it is. We're going to have to suck it up, deal with it, and not look.

I must point out that if we were as intelligent as we used to be, there would be no need for a rant thread, and people would have the common sense to not say any kind of offensive or potentially offensive material. And even rants can be posted politely. Also, cleo is the only one with the power to make a subforum, and it's not as if anyone could stop her. It's up to cleo and if she feels she has enough support.
