T0ASTiiE x B U N Z At my school: Flutes- Girly, Ditzy Clarinets- Shy, "Leaders" (not me im the loud, fun one) Saxaphones- Hard headed, Get Distracted Trumpets- Show offs, Braggers Drums- Stupid, Loud Trombones- Retarted, Nerdy French Horns- Tiny, Agressive I am loud and fun too, all the other clarinets just.... uhg.

chaudblaze I've heard people say that male flute players are gay, which frankly, I don't get. As a matter of fact, I am one. yeah i'm a flute. i seriously respect guy flutes who are proud of what they play. i've been in band with a male flute twice and they were both made of AWESOME. biggrin

My band doesn't really follow stereotypes, cuz we're all random balls of fluff. But I used to always think:
Flutes/Clarinets: thin, pretty girls, preps, super good cuz they practice all the time (we had one, she was nice.)
Saxes: (my section) cool, funny (things I'm not so much of)
Trumpets: Sir-Blast-A-Lot (we had one of those too, I think that's what caused that in my mind)
Tubas: Big fat guys who are uber funny
Percussion: rushing, loud
that's all I can think of right at the moment.

Well, this is for my band:
Flutes: Probablly the only 'Normal' Section. Your average, videogame loving, emotional, phycotic players.
Clarinets: Stuck up, show offs. Has to be better than everyone else....OR ELSE.
Trumpets: LOUD. Cocky, arrogant, the Freerunners of the band. Largest section...always.
Saxophones: Nerdy, quiet, self absorbed. Probablly plotting world destruction.
Mellophones: Funny, awesome, fun to be around people.
Percussion+
-Pit: Thinks there all that. Very short tempered.
-Drumline: Loud, funny, friendly.
Sousaphones (Marching Tuba): Usually the skinny kid that's louder than the whole band put together.

percussionist sad Which I am and also Captain) Don't listen to anyone below drum captain and drum major.
Flutes: Are quiet and tend to hang with each other
Clarinets: Very hyper( like my girlfriend ) and sometimes bossy
Trumpets: loud , show offy, Most yelled at section (other than Percussionist)
Tuba: Funny and hypes up the band
Sax's: Lack rythm but are very social
Colorguard: Snobby, stupid ( and males are usually gay)
Other: Unnoticed thats why why I forgot them.

Too true.
Our director is intent on telling us, the drumline, that we have to give pushups if another section leader tells us to because they're in an "authoritive" position.
Oh, hell no.
Get me a drum major or a drum captain and I'll pull out as many push ups as they want.
But a section leader is a SECTION leader.
pfft.

I usually hear that all flute players are girly which I don't get since I play the flute and I don't act too girly.

in our band...:
flutes: fun...but man flutes are creepy (n offence! i only know one!)
clarinets: power struggle people (idk how to phrase that...)
saxs: half- stupid in there own special way. other half- amazing
trumpets: egotistical, cocky, annoying, cute (for the guys)
euphoniums: hilarious, random
trombones:really funny, kinda quiet
tubas/sousaphones: dumb
percussion: see tubas
guard (me!): director's favorite section...one of the few that actually remembers to do stuff...
drum major: freakin' awesome
french horns: keep to themselves

It's all different for different bands, but in ours, it's like this:
Flutes: Most are girly, but are really good at playing the flute, and can be fun to hang out with.
Clarinets: Quiet and shy around people, but get them in sectionals, they tend to go crazy. Are easily distracted by little things, and can get away with a lot of things.
Saxophones: Very perverted, and loud. Very talkative, but they are hillarious most of the time. They don't tend to know what's going on half the time.
Trumpets: Most of them think that they're the best, and no one can ever be better. They don't tend to like to practice, or do anything that involves playing their instrument. Some can be pretty neat to be around though.
Low Brass: (involves all the others, cause our band doesn't have that many low brass) They are pretty random, and they have a lot of inside jokes that no one gets. They are very loud, and some are obnoxious and annoying to be around, but most are pretty cool.

Guitar(Electric) (Girl)-odd rock listening not Jamaican...
Flute-Rich, prep school going, honor roll
Piano-Adventist
Violin-also rich,prep school, honor roll
Sax-what???

Here they are:
Flutes: Giggly girls (or if they're guys, they're quiet and emo or gay)
Clarinets: Really shy, but put a group of them together, and they act as if they have an endless sugar rush...
Trumpets: Loud and obnoxious
Saxophones: Talkative, but only among themselves. Like a clique, they all seem to have the same opinion and speak in unison. It's really creepy.
Trombones: Either perverted and loud, or quiet, smart and antisocial
Tubas: Usually I associate them with husky guys with beards
Percussion: Lazy, zone out and lose their spot in the music a lot
Double Reed: Nerdy, never go outside. Stay in all day and make reeds
French Horns: No one outside of them can ever tell what they're thinking...
I took surveys of people in and outside band for this a while back. Half the people outside band asked, "What's a doubt reed" or "What's an F Horn?" (that's what I call French Horns)

sax:total jackasses except the section leader shes a b***h xp
horns:wants d**k all the time stare
lowbrass(thats meh section =D):ubber loud and always doin stupid stuff for fun mrgreen
trumpets:think their the best,and all of them r thin and think that holdin a dynasty brand bari is easy(not one bit) ninja
drumline:think theys the best(not really),and also think marchin low brass would be easier than drumline
pit:they just have fun xd
flutes:ubber girly
gaurd:supper bitchy and picky of who their tech is stare

As far as our band goes...
Flute: Giggly girls, or kinda not normal guys
Clarinet: Ummm.... they're kinda just there.
Saxophone: Everyone else. (We have to many to say anything over all)
French horn: Girls who got put there by the BD
Oboe: Went to percussion for marching band and never came back.
Trumpet: Ego inflated idiots. stare
Trombone: The ones who can't get it right the 1st time or 2nd.....
Tuba: Nerds who won't shut up.
Percussionist: Lazy people, who are never ready when the BD is.
Most of the band follows this but not all of them.
