Glacial Apocalypse

PostPosted: Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:16 am

Felix nodded quietly, interested by the situation. It was strange for a house to operate under such a system. There was the owner, Lady Redwood, who took in people and offered them boarding. Did these people have nowhere else to go? It was also odd to see that the house was so well maintained on the inside, yet on the outside it looked decrepit and decaying. It was almost as though the external façade was intended to deceive people, perhaps keep them away. Maybe Lady Redwood had wanted people to think that the house was haunted as Gitano had said. "No, that's fine." He said quietly, turning to look back at the fire, the crimson flames rolling and cascading upwards.

"I live here," Arisu said as she attempted to put the helmet back on the armor. Frowning when she couldn't reach, she looked around for something to help her put the helmet on. Seeing a chair, she dragged it over. "Hopefully Izzy won't mind," she muttered as she stepped onto the chair, very carefully, and put the helmet on. The chair then wobbled and Arisu fell off, not expecting it to wobble. "Owie..." she said. She had landed on her bottom, and it really hurt. "Stupid wobbly chair!" She shook her fist at it, being really childish. When she remembered that the boy was still there, her face turned red with embarrassment.

Izzy jumped up, the music ending abruptly as she did. Slowly she calmed down before loudly speaking to everyone. "How about moving this outside. Arisu, your help will be needed in the kitchen. Zane, make sure the tables and chairs outside are enough. If not go to the dining room to get more. Gitano, music for outside would be helpful. Lets have a party in celebration of our guests!"

As fast as human feet would allow she made her way to the kitchen. Soon she was rummaging though the freezer. "Ah ha!" she exclaimed. She knew that the steaks had to be in here. She took them out, all ten of them and set them on the counter for Arisu to prepare. Izzy herself would have done it but Arisu was better in the kitchen. She took the back way outside to make sure that all the lights were on. Now that she didn't have an audience she did it as quickly as she could.

Finishing she jumped to the second story balcony. On the back of the house it was all one balcony and it didn't wrap around. She opened the door to her room, grabbed her pad and pen, and began jotting down important details that she needed to write the beginings of her story.

Joey unfinished unpacking and went outside. He carried a small battery powered amp strapped to his belt. He headed downstairs and out the back door. He sat down by the small pond on the ground. He turned the amp on and crossed his legs. He strummed along to a song of his own, humming unknown lyrics to himself.

It was now Baylor's turn to hold back a chuckle. "You ok...? I'm sorry, I never quite got your name!" He apologized. She was a little bit childish, but then again, everyone is sometimes. Smiling, he held out his hand to help her up. "So, you live here? Are you mabye related to Izzy or anyone here? And do you know exactly why we were invited?" He then suddenly realized he was firing a barrage of questions at a girl who had just fallen down. "I'm sorry again! One question at a time. I never quite got your name."

"I'm fine," Arisu said. She took his hand as he held it out to her to help her up. "My name is-" Before she could finish, she heard Izzy call to her. "Arisu, and I'm the cook. I'm sorry, but can this conversation wait until later? I have to go prepare the meal."

Gitano looked up as Izzy called her name. "Outside party? Hmm..." Looking over at Felix she smiled apologeticly. "Sorry. Looks like I got to play host." She stood up and walked, at a human's pace, to her room. Once there she headed towards her music collection and started to pull CDs out. Once she got a good pile of different types of music she pulled out her outside CD player. Taking up both she opened her door to the back balcony and jumped down to the patio. She got about setting up the CD player and placed a CD in, turning it on to test the sound level and checking to see it worked. "Ready on this end, Izzy!"

"Logically that makes sense, but David Hume argued that logic was not infallible, and Beckett beleived that there was a positive and negative side to everything. So be careful."

His face melted when he told her to be careful. She had been very beligerent with him, just as he had predicted, and it saddened him, but what saddened him even more was how this girl felt.

User ImageZane smirked upon hearing the party would be held. Did this mean he had a good idea for once, maybe it would help him get off scot free with his earlier "showboating."
"mademoiselle it would be my honor" Zane stated smugly to Izzy with a broad smile spreading across his face.
After that Zane stood up and walked off towards the back, he figured the garden area would suffice for this party, as it was one of his favorite place.

Once he was outside he stopped and crossed his arms as he counted the tables and chairs. It had only been the four of them for some time now. Thinking back on it he was the only male.
"How come i never realized this?" He questioned himself, his thoughts suddenly skipping to something totally unrelated.
After another moment though he snapped back into reality, his quirky smirk transcending into a frown. There were only two tables out there, merely enough for five unless you wanted to squish in together then it could be eight.

"Sheesh" Zane grumbled as he walked past the tables and towards an unnoticed shed a few paces off the path near the garden.
Upon reaching the shed he pulled the doors open, not bothering to unlock them, he then smiled as he seen the rest of the tables and chairs.
"I knew I stored these for a reason, screw the dinning room these are nicer." He boasted to himself as he lifted up two tables with ease and sped back to the area he was going to set up. Needless to say he figured he was alone, so he pulled the stops out and used his strength and speed to his advantage, this helped him in a long run and it only took three trips.

After a good five minutes he had the tables and chairs were he wanted them, there was now enough room to sit twenty people with ease.
"Maybe i over did it?" He thought as he began to place candles on the tables and string up more candles and decorum around the garden.
It was starting to get dark so he played up the candles and the way the flames made the shadows dance.
This time he did it all at a human pace, enjoying the feel of occupying his time with something creative.
To top it all off he sped to his room, a massive gust sailing past everyone twice within a few moments. This of course was Zane, he had went to his room and taken his telescope and tripod as well as various other items, it was after turning into a very clear night and the glorious moon was slowly creeping up in the distance.

"That ought to do it." He muttered a self satisfied sigh immediately following after. He then smiled as he looked around at the very relaxed and mysterious mood he had created for the party. To him though the most fascinating thing was the area he had set up for himself, which included three telescope of different power, star and constellation charts and a rather new item he had acquired which was a smaller telescope that could take photographs of the stars.
Of course it wasn't solely for himself, he would be kind enough to share. his equipment. He didn't see why he shouldn't share his favorite hobby, even if it was to be considered a strange one to many.

For a moment longer he stood around watching the shadows dance against the various surface, but eventually he felt content enough to disturb his master piece and have a seat. It was here he would wait for the guest and others alike. He was interested to see their expressions and what they would think of his creation under the fall of darkness that was sure to turn the whole area into a wondrous glowing work of art.

Anya sighed and cast her eyes downward. "I try to be careful. It never works." She crossed her arms as if she were cold and sighed again.

Gitano had watched as Zane placed all the tables, chairs, candles, and telescopes. She smiled as she set the music to the mood Zane created. She sat down at another table and looked over at Zane. "Nice touch. Expesially the telescopes. It's going to be a clear night." She then started to play with the candle's flame, passing her hand over the flame.

User ImageZane looked over towards her and smiled.
"What can i say, i got into the mood." He stated with a shrug.
For a moment he remained silent and watched her play with the flame.
"The music is what really counts though." He eventually said upon noticing the music's nice touch to the mood. He then tilted his head sideways and gave Gitano a playful wink, of course he didn't mean anything to serious by winking, it was just how he was when night came, childish and playful.Which in turn often led to him unleashing his ability to charm unsuspecting people.

" In short I guess I couldn't of made the mood work so well without your music huh?" he smiled and slowly tilted his head upwards, leaning back in his chair, so he could see the sky.
It was after all turning into a wondrous night, the stars that scattered across the sky seemed like millions of pin pricks in a thin blanket. At least that was the way Zane viewed them, of course no ones opinion could ever change his fascination with the night sky and the calming yet playful effect it seemed to have on him.

((Sorry I've been gone for so long...))

Willow shifted nervously where she stood, trying her best to keep up with everything, but she was feeling a bit lost in a place with so many others; she only knew she didn't feel comfortable and that everyone felt at least somewhat off to her.

Izzy walked back onto the balcony. It was going to be perfect. "Nice job Zane and Gitano." She sat on the balcony railing staring up at the stars. She wasn't afraid of falling or of anyone really seeing her up here. It was just nice to be away from all of the chaos of everyday life.

"Yeah sure." Baylor said as Arisu went back to the kitchen. "My name's Baylor by the way!" He called after her. He then shrugged and decided to head toward the dining hall. It was getting close to dinner time, and he wanted to make sure he did not go to bed hungry. Baylor walked down the hallways at a medium pace, admiring the beautiful decorations lining the halls and ceiling.
