Xeion giggled, putting his hand on Rakey-chan's head, gently ruffling her hair. "I see now why you and Yuu-chan get along so well. You're both really cute and innocent when it comes to things like this," said Xeion, complimenting Rakey-chan. Of course, Xeion meant the romantic kind of love, but for Rakey-chan's sake, he decided to just go with her understanding of what he meant by 'love'.

"Well, you could say that. Now, imagine the person or persons you care about most in danger and being unable to help him or them, even though you tried so hard to do so? Not once, but twice. What would you feel?" Xeion asked again, trying to put the things he wanted to say into simpler terms so Rakey-chan could understand what he means.

Xeion smiled and began running his hand up and down Rakey-chan's back, trying comfort her and prevent her from crying. Xeion found it funny that the tables had turned, but even so, Xeion felt rather happy. Now, at the very least, it seemed as though Rakey understood how he felt at that moment. "Well, now that you understand how I feel, I guess I could tell you as to whom that blue rose was meant for."

Taking out another blue rose from his pocket, Xeion smiled as he played with the blue rose while also admiring its beauty at the same time. "Her name is Unaharu Shihouin, a relative of Yoruichi Shihouin. We met a long long time ago, and eventually, we fell in love. I promised to protect her and love her, but in the end, I wasn't able to fulfill that promise. Not once, but twice. Twice I wasn't able to be there when she needed me. Twice I was forced to abandon her."

Xeion stopped playing with the rose as tears ran down from his eyes. Regardless, Xeion continued to tell Rakey-chan his story. "I love her so much, I really do, but I don't know if I can continue loving her -- not any more. I failed her too much, too many times. Her trust in me...is already broken; and even if she still trusts in me, it is I who don't trust in myself."

Clenching the rose, droplets of blood began to trickle out of his closed fist and onto the ground, the sharp rose thorns pushing against Xeion's flesh. "It's the reason why I've decided to distance myself from Unaharu-hime now. She doesn't deserve me -- a useless man who only knows how to act big and dependable, but lacks the follow-through others have. Unaharu-hime deserves better -- someone who can be there for her and protect her better than I can. As for me, I'm just happy seeing her happy, guarding her in the shadows and ensure that she remains happy. It's the least I could do to repay the love and kindness she had shown to me countless times before. That, I am sure, I can never repay. Even in a thousand lifetimes."

Xeion saw Rakey-chan's kindness as she displayed it so plainly in front of him. Rakey-chan was always one who was able to make anyone smile and make them forget about the pain they were feeling. It didn't matter if she was an Arrancar, she was someone whom Xeion considered as one of his valued, dearest friends. When Rakey-chan showed such concern for him, Xeion simply couldn't hold back his tears any longer. "Rakey-chan..."

Letting go of the rose, Xeion allowed it to drop to the ground while he wrapped his arms around Rakey-chan, crying as hard as he could into her, like a child, crying out his pains in a mother's warm and comforting bosom. It was rare for Xeion to be like this. He always showed himself as a happy, care-free, and dependable guy, so it was strange for him to be crying. However, Xeion, like everyone else, wasn't perfect, and still had weaknesses to him. It was a sign that he was still human, or human-like, at least.

As Xeion cried harder, Xeion felt his burdens and sadness lift from his heart. It was as if the tears which flowed out of the young Revenant's crimson eyes carried all the pain from his heart as they flowed down his cheeks and onto Rakey-chan. The pain and sadness Xeion felt was too much to be expressed through words alone and to painful to explain. Sometimes, when one is faced with those kinds of painful feelings, one just simply needs to cry out one's pain, like Xeion was doing now.

As fate would have it, Rakey-chan was right. Soon, droplets of rain fell from the sky, growing more numerous with each passing second. Eventually, the rain had grown strong enough to easily soak anyone in the open who didn't have a rain coat, an umbrella, or anything else that can be used to protect themselves from the rain. Xeion, now soaking wet, slowly let go of Rakey-chan, wiping his excess tears away. "I...I'm sorry...," apologized Xeion, turning his head away from Rakey-chan because he was embarrassed of what he had done. Another reason was because Rakey-chan's dress was so wet that it had become semi-transparent so Xeion, being a gentleman, wanted to avoid seeing Rakey-chan in that situation for he respected Rakey-chan's dignity, as with all women, too much to slip a peek, even if he wanted to. He was much too prim and proper to do that to a lady like Rakey-chan.

While his face was turned away, he smiled sweetly. The rain water was cold as it washed down Xeion's body. The feeling it created was so relaxing that it was as if the rain water was washing away the remnants of Xeion's pain, the ones that didn't go away after he had cried into Rakey-chan. With Rakey-chan's selfless act of kindness, along with the cold, spring rain, helped Xeion return to his normal self again as he stood up and looked up at the early morning sky with a smile on his face. "I love the rain," said Xeion. "Not only does it nourish the life of everything in this world, I also feel that it can also wash away the burdens of those who stand under it."

Turning his head slightly to face Rakey-chan, Xeion smiled at her then turned back at the dark sky. "You know what? Some people view the rain as something that brings sadness, but even so, I think that the rain is one of the reason why I'm still alive right now. Whenever I feel so down, so hopeless, I just stand under the sky and wait for the rain." Reaching out his hands to the sky, Xeion opened his palm and acted as if he was reaching up at the clouds, trying to take a piece of the sky. "I would allow myself to get soaked in the water and cry -- tears mixing with the rain drops as it trickled down my body."

For a few minutes, Xeion remained silent and just continued taking in the rain until he felt satisfied that his pain had been washed away. "However, the thing I looked forward to seeing the most was not the rain itself, but what came after it. Every time it rained, I always ran and searched for it wherever I went -- that single treasure high in the sky. The thing which can take away the sadness by simply looking at it. The powerful thing that can make you smile in awe."

Turning to face Rakey-chan, Xeion began to make her way towards her with a smile. Reaching out for her hand, Xeion clasped it with his as Xeion felt the warmth of her hands; a good feeling considering that the rain that night was a little on the cold side. "Rakey-chan, thank you for being my rainbow. You really know how to cheer someone up, huh?" said Xeion, laughing for a bit, still holding Rakey-chan's warm hands. "I'm so lucky to have someone like you around. I'm blessed that I have met someone as kind and considerate as you, Rakey-chan. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you."

Letting go of her hands, Xeion bowed to her in the most respectful way he could then shot her a sweet smile; a smile that came from the very bottom of his heart. The rain was cold that night, but for some reason, Xeion felt warm. He was happy again; and it was all thanks to Rakey-chan.
