"What is this? The dark ages?" Azkadellia asked.
"Well, it is pretty dark out here . . ."
"All right, well, I've had enough . . . " She wanted to say idiots, but then Jazz wasn't an idiot. Then she wanted to say protectors, but Glitch wasn't really saying he wanted to protect her. "Men for the evening. So, I'm going to go talk to Mom and get the real story about those babies."

Azkadellia shook her head. Jazz was just . . . strange. When she was farther away, she smiled. But he was nice. And hadn't made fun of her once for mucking up the spell.
Glitch tilted his head at Jazz. When Azkadellia was out of ear shot, he said, "You like her." It wasn't a question. "Well, you just be careful with my sister!" Glitch ordered, nodding.

"She is...unlike any woman I have ever met," Jazz said never one to deviate from the simple truth. "I find myself liking her very much."

"Uh-huh," Glitch said, wondering if this guy was really talking about his sister. "Well, don't make her too angry, or she'll turn you into a roach. Or tin. Or something worse. See ya later, Fancy Wings," Glitch turned and followed Azkadellia back home.

"Tin?" Jazz was left wondering before he left to find a resting place for the day, after all, the sun was rising high in the sky.

The following night Jazz found himself wondering the same patch of woods as he had the night before hoping to cross paths with the lovely witch again. She'd haunted his dreams as he slept that day. Coat of green and mystic eyes... Jazz stopped short from running into a tree...again. He need to focus just a little more on where he was and not her sweet smile...although the later was much lovelier to meditate upon.

"Okay, Azkadellia," she muttered to herself, taking a few more steps back. "You are going to fly this time." Whispering the magical words again, she took a running start. She felt her cape fly out behind her as she ran. Then she felt her feet lift off the ground. Yes! Now Jazz and I can fly together! As she wondered where that had come from, she lost concentration and slammed back into the ground. Pain shot through her leg as she lay on the edge of the forest, cursing her stupidity.

"You must be more careful," Jazz said appearing at the fallen witch's side to help her back to her feet.

Azkadellia smiled. "Yeah, well, at least I didn't light the forest on fire this time. And, I did actually fly there for a few seconds. Until I . . . uh . . . got distracted." She blushed.

Jazz smiled at her sweet blush. "It is difficult to imagine one such as yourself, so dedicated to her studies, becoming distracted," he said quietly.

Azkadellia looked away. So. Glitch had been right about something. She better not tell him. She'd never hear the end of it. "I was just wondering what it must be like to fly. That's why I was trying the spell. I wanted to see for myself."
