Laurell listened carefully to Amos and watched him closely. She saw nothing in either his eyes nore his body language that would show he was lieing. Hearing his talk of being reminded of someone he once lost she rolled her eyes and snapped, "Whatever soldier boy, life sucks deal with it, you ain't gonna bring some lost princess back by playin lap dog to someone else."
Her eyes went even colder as she added now ready to dispose of this man his honest truth to her while was nice jesture it did not amuse her in the least, "Wha-"
She stoped in mid word and spun arround firing her gun at the broken window when she heard it break. Pissed she snapped to a couple others, "Follow who did that, you two have that fixed yesterday!" Not wanting to leave metal man knowing he had snuck in she spun to him aiming her riffle at him her eyes venomous as she hissed, "Who was that?" Her angry eyes waiting for teh right answer to pull the trigger.

"That," Amos replied, noting the venom in Laurell's eyes and voice, "I do not know. As far as I knew, I came alone. If you will permit me, however, I can scan the window to at least determine what your latest intruder was." He figured that the best way to avoid a swift death at the hands of a gang leader was to be of some use to her.

Doc Persona "You poor girl." Lance said as he nodded. "Okay then I know a diner around here called Night Owls that is open late. Why don't we step away from here and I'll get you some hot cocoa and something to eat. How does that sound?" Raven watched him with cautious eyes. Finally she nodded. "Thank you, I have some money, so I can pay for my food." She patted her pocket, feeling the bits of money within. "I will make up anything I receive, somehow." She told him, meaning that if he provided her with a place to stay she would work it off to him. Her cruel father has taught her this at least.

Skog resumed his real shape upon entering the depths of his forest. He could feel that another tree had fallen while he was gone. A procession of birds and butterflies was already underway for the fallen tree. "I will find an angel to save us," He told a passing bird. I cannot allow my forest to die. Even if it means that I must... He dreaded the thought, trying in vain not to even let it be heard in his mind's ear, Destroy.

Lance could see she still didn't quite trust him so he continued to talk.
"How about I tell you about myself and if you want to keep things about you a secret then that's fine." he said scratching the bridge of his nose.
"Let's see here My name is Lance, Lance Barclay. You don't look particularly into technology like a lot of kids today but I guess you can call me a wizard of tech." He said as they drew closer to the diner. "You might also be surprised I am not as organic as I used to be in youth. I guess it was Karma that lead me to my present form this day."
Lance was watching Raven for reactions. He was not really a people person but he was hopeful being honest would be a good way to help her relax.

Raven smiled at him. "Lance." she said softly, "I like your name." She looked up at him. "What do you mean by a wizard of technology?" She was confused, but followed a little closer now behind him.
"I am sorry if my actions are not suitable for your liking. I am afraid, very afraid. Raven is my name." She quieted down for a moment before speaking again. "He hurt me, and my mother. He eventually killed her. That night he beat us both nearly to death, and killed my mother. I ran away from him, taking as much money as I could find, but leaving as soon as possible." Tears gleamed in her eyes. "That is why I am the way you see me."
She had stopped walking and looked up a the man. She felt very small, like a child. She showed him her arm, where it was obvious the bone was broken, but somehow mending, but in the wrong way. The bone didn't meet, and was easily broken. That accounted for her easy pain. She had told his man everything.

When Raven stopped Lance did as well. He was shocked by the sight of the bone in her arm. It obviously was not set properly. Trying not to bring back more painful memories for her he answered her question.
"You see Raven... even when I was young I had a knack for all thing mechanical. I made a living out of discovering and making cutting edge technology." Lance told her calmly. "After an incident I was horribly injured though and I had to...make a few modifications to my body."
Lance banged on his chest resulting in a solid metallic twang sound. "It took some getting used to but I did get used to it in time. Now how about some food. The cheeseburgers here are heavenly"

Raven had become locked within a shell again. Her emotions had run away with her. She flinched at the hollow ring of metal. "Very fascinating." She commented softly looking from his chest to his arm. "How did you have that done?" Her curiosity pulled her forward. She reached out to take his hand in hers. She wanted to examine it. "How were you hurt?" she asked him softly.
She nodded in reply to the food. "It does." she said still watching his hand, how it moved. "Was it hard to do?" She was hungry, but often before she had needed to detract herself when hunger arose, this was the direct correlation to that. It was more like a habit now.

Lances hand was very hard as well. Even though it was covered by artificial skin Raven could feel some joints in his hand as they gently close over her hand as she grabbed his hand. The sleeve of his jacket had a small hole in it and the glint of metal could be seen through it.
"Hmmm...I'll try to spare you the worse details but I do know while working in my old garage some kind of external energy ripped through my workspace. I have since fixed it with energy dampeners but it did a lot of damage to the garage and me. Luckily I had help or might have died back then." Lance said as he smiled sadly.

The city dog approached Skog's throne. "I found 'em, ya git," it barked rudely at him. "And? Where are they?" "A diner called Night's Owl. By the way, ya look like..." "Something weird? Yes, I know." "'Mm. See ya, weirdo." The dog left his forest at a sprint. Skog leapt off his throne, resuming human shape to enter the city. He considered asking people for directions, but either proudly or foolishly shot the idea down.

Raven's eyes were wide with fear. "That sounds awful." she said softly, shivering at the feeling of his metal hand closing over her hand. His hand was so cold. "I am sorry to hear about your misfortune."

Lance released Raven's hand and reached for the handle of the diner door. He opened it and stepped to the side so she could go in first.
"After you my dear. Let us not worry about the past for now and focus on filling our stomachs." Lance said as he bowed slightly.

Raven blushed, she walked past him. "Thank you." she chirped entering the warm diner. She stopped just inside and looked back at Lance, she waited for him. She looked around the diner too, seeing what sort of a place it was. The teen smiled, the diner seemed quite wonderful.

Lance followed after Raven went through the door. The diner was a real classic place with old fashioned booths and a jukebox playing music from an era of a more innocent time.
"Hi there Lance. Who's this sweet young thing you brought in?" a waitress said as she came up to the two of them. "Is she your girlfriend or something?"
"No, no nothing like that." Lance said as he laughed at the question. "I am almost old enough to be her father."
"Sure sugar. You are either a terrible liar or you age really well." The waitress said with a wink to Raven and escorted them to a booth.

Raven blushed. She smiled at the kind woman and waved to her shyly. "Thank you." she told the woman. "This is a beautiful diner. It is a pleasure to be here." She followed along closely behind Lance, looking around at the wonderful building.
