"Oh yeah, where's Rubicant?" Shao says with a faint smile.
"Didn't pass his test?"
Naoko finds herself back in the temple, but in a part that she had never heard of before. She observes the room carefully, noting the scriptures on the walls depicting of a battle...of a story that had happened long ago.
Unconsciously, she walks forward, taking slow, steady steps as if she knows what she is doing. Her robes brush against her skin as if it was nothing, but she didn't realize her sudden change in clothing. Heading towards an altar before her, her hands brush over the golden tablet that the altar held. Her amulet glows in a pulsating response, her eyes transfixed on the tablet before her. She whispers some words of an archaic tongue too archaic to be recognized. The tablet glows in response to her words, synchronizing itself with her amulet's glow.
The temple's walls tremble around her, but Naoko doesn't seem to notice...or care.
Now, open the light... Daemon speaks to her.
Naoko sets her hands down upon the tablet and a white light fills the room.
And she could remember nothing...
Everyone witnesses the temple rumble from the outside.
"Shu, are you sure everyone's out here and safe? Naoko..."
*Gwyn flew back to the temple on Caranár's back, and spotted the others from the air. Gwyn lands Caranár right beside them, and walks up to greet them*
Gwyn: Greetings, I am Gwyn Masamune, a humble Dragoon. Might you all be the friends Naoko spoke of?
*thinking to herself* "argh... did the gods of this temple want to torture me today by having all see my nekkid-ness!! grrr... stop laughing at me amulet "
*Phey waved to the newcomer from behind the bushes*
"Hi!... yeah, we're friends of Naoko's. I'm Pharoah Phey, though i usually just go by Phey. Nice to meet ya."
*Phey eyed the dragon he rode upon wearily*
"is that a friend of yours?"
Daewyn was awed by the dragon and it's knight, but soemthing caught her eye that distracted her from the sight, Phey's uncomfortable position. She walked over to her quickly and pulled a pair of pants and a shirt from her bag. "Here. I'm sure they aren't as comfortable as the clothes you had, but they'll work till you can aquire some better ones."
Before Shu could answer, a stranger drops down from the sky.
"Greetings, I am Gwyn Masamune, a humble Dragoon. Might you all be the friends Naoko spoke of?" he says.
"Yes we are. My name is Shao. You know where Naoko is??"

Darkness.
Naoko looks around her in confusion. The darkness around her feels warm, familiar, but it still doesn't let the suspicion inside of her fade.
What is this place?
This is the Void, my child, Daemon answers her. The true Void...the source of this temple.
Naoko swiftly turns around in surprise only to see more of the darkness around her. From far away, however, she could see a tiny light shining back at her.
"...The...true Void?" she asks Daemon.
Yes...now it is your turn for your test, and to obtain the piece that you are searching for...
The light begins to fade away, but Naoko realizes that it is the altar that is running away from her. She chases after it with a passion, unaware that every action she makes made the temple tremble even more.
[random person entrance]
*phey looked up at Daewyn and a wide smile appeared on her face*
"really?...Thank you sooo much Daewyn!!"
*phey put on the clothes given to her, then gave Daewyn a big hug*
"I don't know what I would've done without you xd "
**Daewyn hugged Phey back with a huge grin on her face.**
Hey it's alright, anything for a friend. Let me know what style you'd like and I can pick some better ones up for you in the next town we get to.
Shuu, not noticing the newcomer, began to reply to the multitude of questions that he was being asked. "I honestly have no idea where Naoko is, and I couldn't feel her energy inside the Temple...." Then, he noticed the newcomer, and said "HI! Were you looking for us? Well, my name is Shuichi, but you could call me Shuu for sho....WHOA!" He suddenly felt a new presence inside the Temple, thought for a moment, then shouted "NAOKO!" He instantly tried to teleport, but failed. He turned to the black-silver coyote. "ERG! WHY CAN'T I TELEPORT, AUUBI?!?!"
Because you are not ready yet... The coyote replied. You have not had enough time to restore your powers. Therefore, you must rest a little more.
"No..." Shuichi stated, somewhat antsy now. "This....This can't be! NAOKO IS IN THERE!!! I'VE GOTTA DO SOMETHING!!!!"
"WHAT? Naoko's in there?"
Shao runs back up to the temple..
"Where's the entrance? How come the entrance is gone?....Is there ANYTHING we can do? Anyone?....
...I wonder if she'll be alright."
Shuu fell to the ground, half impatient and half tired. "I.....I don't know what to do...." He thought for a while, before figuring something out. "Auubi...couldn't you just....well...teleport someone over there yourself?"
If I did, they would never come back out alive, for I could not bring them out again without physical contact, and you wouldn't recover in time. Also, I am still recovering my energy as well, so I won't be able to go in and come out, either. That, in turn, would kill you because of the crystal linkl...
"WHAT?! UGH!!!" Shuu exclaimed, beginning to regret the crystal on his forehead. "Waaaaaiiiiit a sec.....Time....hmmmm....THAT'S IT! If I open one of the walls in the Temple, and then stop Time, somebody could go in and save Naoko! Of course!"
Are you sure that you have the energy to open a rift and then hold Time still when you do not even have the energy to teleport?? That is fairly risky, and could be fatal for you and anyone who went in...Do you feel that your body can withstand that much?
"Well, there's no other option, is there?! I must do this! WE must do this! And I'm sure that I'll be fine, honestly. So, any volunteers?"

Gwyn: I assure you, Caranar is my lifelong companion, you have nothing to fear from him.
*Gwyn nodded to everyone, then looked puzzled at Shuu's outburst*
Gwyn: But.... I left Naoko at a house just a little ways away from the temple..... She talked of you all, and seemed fairly concerned about your status of being inside the temple, so I decided I might help you guys out, but It seems that you made it out by yourselves.... It does bother me, however.... Now that you mention it.......
Gwyn: Kain, is Naoko inside the temple????
Kain: I can't sense clearly.... there is a disturbance.....
*Gwyn shook his head*
Gwyn: Ummm.... my amulet can't sense inside the temple.....
*With this Gwyn examined the group more closely, and realized that they too had amulets like his own.*
Gwyn: Th....Those amulets look like mine!
"NAOKO!!!"
Naoko stopped in mid stride, swiftly turning around at the call of her name. The voice...it sounded familiar....
...Was that Shuu? she thought.
You have little time left, child, Daemon tries to explain to her as the light began to fade away from her reach again.
Naoko finally looks down at herself to see that she is wearing priestess' clothing...
"What in the world??"
You are the descendant of generations of the Void, Daemon said. So, in essence, you are also MY descendant.
"Is that why I have to go through this test, Daemon?" Naoko asks him, looking back up to see the light still running away. "...Is that why I am dressed in these clothes?"
...Yes.
Naoko sighs, realizing the answer to this riddle. Why didn't I see this in the first place?
She sets her hand down upon the dark ground, whispering the words of her most powerful spell:
To the Lord of Nightmares who dwells within this realm, come to me.
Upon where is darkness, light will stand...
The ground begins to ripple like water around her in response. The light hesitates, feeling the presence of the spell.
Upon destruction, life will revive...
The light slowly begins to back away from a huge bulge emerging from the ground.
Yet when you come to me, all is destroyed upon the will of the Void...
Amber eyes stare back at the light. Naoko's own eyes shift to dark orbs when she opens them.
So destroy this path that disturbs thus and open the world to your power! Sudden Rain!!
A scream echoes in the dark before it is swallowed by the creature of the night and once again the darkness shatters open like glass. Naoko stands up, looking around her, catching the little pyreflies of life that swirl around her. One of the pyreflies encircles around her hand, revealing its true form as one of the jewels that will hold the key to their mission....Naoko smiles to herself, unaware that other eyes are watching her.
So...she has accomplished her trial... a mysterious voice whispers before disappearing.
"...Naoko?" another voice asks.
Naoko snaps out of her trance and turns around to see the astonished looks upon her comrades' faces....
*Gwyn looked astonished at Naoko*
Gwyn: Kain..... I think there may be more to these people than meets the eye.......
Kain: Indeed, they truly are remarkable warriors..... there is a strong aura coming from each of them......
Gwyn: Naoko.... what happened to you? Last I checked you were in that house......
Naoko stares at Gwyn for a moment before looking away.
"....I don't know..." she replies in a soft voice.
*Gwyn looked at Naoko with soft eyes*
Gwyn: Naoko.... are you okay? You look kinda scared... If you ever need a Knight, just whistle, and I'll be there.
Naoko shakes her head, rubbing her arms from the lack of clothing on her.
"No, I'm fine...but thank you, though..." Naoko replies.
She looks at everyone with tired eyes. "Are you guys all okay?"
"Naoko!" Everyone runs up to her to see if she's alright.
"Are you okay?"
"What happened?"
"Did we complete the task of the temple yet?"
Endless questions were directed towads her. In the end, we all realized that we were rushing too much. We offered our replenishing items to her, and waited for her to speak when she is ready.
"Take your time, Naoko," Shao said, "you must be hungry, like the rest of us. A few people should come with me and head to the river to see if there are any fish we can catch."

Daewyn pulled another set of clothes out of her bag and handed them to Naoko.
"Looks like you could use these. We'd better get to another town quick so I can replenish my supply, before someone loses their clothes and I don't have any spares."
Enter Vikki
*i awake in a dark and empty room, my eyes coverd with a cloth of some sort, my heart pounding, my skin shivering and a voice calls to me, vikki...........vikki......come to me i stumble onto the ground, only to feel a wet substace nad my finger tips, the smell of blood fills my nose as i yell out to the voice, what's going on?, y am i here and the deep voice tells me.
Heavy Voice: I have brought u here Vikki tetsogi.. for u hold something that is mine.. and i want it back..............NOW!
*i am frightened by the voice and i tell him *
(vikki: i have no clue what u are talking about. *only to be slaped across the floor.*
*i scream of pain , as the laughs then said .
Heavry voice: see little girl ur no match for me.... now hand over the amulet.
Vikki: what amulet? what ru talking about
Heavry voice dont be foolish girl.. now im going to ask u once more were is my amulet.
Vikki: i dont have an amulet please let me go.
Heavy voice: well then since u dont seem to know what i'm talking about u'll
just have to die!
* he picks vikki up with one hand around her neck then starts to choke her
vikki is fighting to stay alive, as the man sqeezes harded her chest starts to
glow, vikki grabs he's gaint hand*
Heavy voice: what.... noooooo.
*vikki is slamed into the ground . and is knock out for a breif second, as she removes the cloth from her face ,her eyes begin to open , and her voice changes and she begins to speak an ancient lanuage.
Vikki: uma Ya soshla sentif u ma she gamo
*as the gaint begins to grab his mighty axe he begins to turn to stone second
by second, and with one finally word.
Vikki: stone
* the gaint is complatly turned to stone, and as she is shocked by what she did vikki falls to the floor.
Vikki: *cough* where did that come from? *pant* this must be the amulet that
he was talking about.
Naoko gratefully takes the clothing Daewyn hands her, smiling.
"Thank you...personally, I don't know how I got these clothes in the first place..." she murmured more to herself than to the others, putting on a shirt over her top. Her katana, still strapped on her sash, hums softly at the clothing's touch.
"Did we complete the task at the temple?" someone asks upon the reach of her
ears.
"Um..." Naoko sifts through her massive sash before taking out a tiny jewel.
It sparkles brightly in the moonlight. "...This is what I got..."
"What is it?" Phey asks.
"I'm not sure..." Naoko whispers.
However, something inside of her whispers that she does know deep inside her
heart.
*thinking to herself* "i wonder what that little jewel is for...."
*phey yawns and realizes how tired she is.*
"do you guys think it's okay to rest here?"
*phey looked up at the dragon and thought to herself, 'nothing in the right
mind would attack us with a dragon here..... hmm.... having a dragoon here is
great!' she couldn't help but smile at the thought of such security, especially since she was so use to being alone. She hears Shao's offer on getting fish and jumps on the oppertunity for food.*
"Fish?! I'll come!"

"Okay Phey. Well if anyone wants to come along, we'll be down by the river. It
shouldn't take long anyway."
Shao and Phey make their way down to the river. He was feeling very hungry.
Seeing the river, however, made him remember being in the temple, almost
drowned by the flood during his test, and afterward being given an unknown
gift by the water god, Chao. He really wished he know what it was; maybe it
would help him catch some fish with less effort.
Nevertheless, Shao rolls up his pants and walks into the river.
Daewyn followed Phey and Shaolin to the river. Being careful to go downstream
so she wouldn't scare away any of their fish, she waded carefully in the
water. Placing her hands slowly in the water, she stood there for a while not
moving. After a few moments her hands flashed and she had caught something.
She tossed a fish on the bank next to Phey and Shao and placed her hands in
the water again. After about 30 minutes she had caught 5 or 6 good sized fish.
Vikki:
*as the morning sun hits vikkis face , her eyes slowly open and as she begins to stand up she smile and says to herself it was only a dream, but as she stud up she felt a sharp pain in her left arm, so it wasn't a dream after all,
vikki look at her feet and saw the amulet, she picks it up and examins it*
Vikki: I wonder what this is for? it causeed me a great deal of pain maybe i
should thorw it into the river.
*as vikki closes her eyes and tilts her arm back to throw it, she saw a flash of light and she seem to be in a dream of some sort, as vikki looks around she saw people at a river gathering fish, she calls to them but they dont seem to here her, as she runs toward them they seem to going farther and farther, until she realizes that she is getting nowwhere. she sits on the ground, crying*
Vikki: what have i gotten myself into. its all this dumb amulets fault. and as she trys to throw it again she another flah of light happens and she is back where she woke up.
Vikki:*pant* maybe i should get a move on
*vikki stands up and starts walking toward what seems to be a near by town*
Naoko wanders around the village once again, to get a feeling of what it was once like before it was destroyed. Sometimes she couldn't believe that the
excavators who had broken the seal destroyed her village like this. She could
still hear the screams of the dying, the shouts for vengeance, the tears she bore when her mother had brought her brother and herself to safety upon her death.
She always wondered why her kind was hated so.
It's been so long... she thinks to herself, letting the cold breeze sweep through the empty marketplace. She picks up a rock and idly tosses it into the broken window of a store.
More children laughter echoed at her actions, and Naoko continued to walk around the village, taking in all the memories deep within her heart and soul.
Vikki:
*as vikki wonders into the near by town she is shocked by what she saw,*
Vikki: what ...............happened here.
*as the confused woman looks around ,destroyed building and the smell of the
dead, she soon realizes that this might be the work of the gaint*
Vikki: o my god this poor town, why would someone do such a thing? this doesn't seem right.
*vikki continues to walk deeper into the town, she is scare,cold and tired. she looks up and saw a sign that said INN. as she walk's toword the door she, another flash of light hits her, but this time she is in the same place but something is different, the town seems to be normal all the builds and people are restore . she turns back and hear children laughing and playing, she smiles and walks toword one of them and asks her where am i. the child does not respond. she trys to tap her shoulder but her hand falls through.
Vikki: they cant see me or hear me what the hell is going on.
*while wading in the water for some time, phey sneezes and her hands create a short burst of fire beneath the surface of the water and about 3 fish float belly up, dead and slightly charred. Phey picks them up quickly and tosses them into the pile of fish on the bank. she perks her ears up and looks up the river, but no one was there.*
"hmm, i could've sworn i heard something.... "
*her attention turns when she spots a huge fish coming down the river and she instinctivly tries making a dive for it.... but misses*

Naoko sighs to herself as she walks back to where everyone else was to set up camp. Her long sarong brushes against her legs, making Naoko think twice about bending down. She looks around the area before spotting a familiar home.
"I'm going to go check out some stuff, okay?" she tells Gywn and leaves before he could even ask for an explaination.
Her home...wasn't far from where they were.
Baikasu leaves his fire [OOC: the food was never put out now that everyone's getting fish.], making sure that nothing around it will catch, thus causing the town to be destroyed again, then goes down to the river. He sees Phey jump at a fish, and miss. He walks up to her. "I think you need this a lot more than me." He hands her his gun."Since all your stuff was burned, I doubt that you have anything to protect yourself with besides your amulet. It's loaded with non-lethal tranculizer rounds right now. Each clip holds 12 bullets. Take it. And you'll also need these. "He hands her 3 clips of ammo. One is marked "9mm TRANK", and the other two are marked "9mm PB"
Shu, completely confused and still quite stunned as to how Naoko suddenly appeared before everyone, decided to give up on thinking and take a rest, which was highly recommended by Auubi. However, though he seemed like he was sleeping peacefully on the grass near the soon-to-be campsite, he was really thinking about everything that had happened today. Especially his outburst of power inside of the Temple. He thought back to the fight against the strange person who possessed him, and how he became outraged about it. He was still quite angry, but not enough to pull out his guns and start shooting random inanimate objects, such as walls. He also still had the feeling of flight/soaring inside of him, but it wasn't completely released. Why.....do I have this power...? It feels so weird....whatever this hidden power of mine is, I'm not quite sure whether I want it or not...
Finally, after a lot of thinking, he drifted into sleep. Strangely enough, though, the only dream that he was having was one where he was running...or possibly flying(?), down a hallway filled with strange symbols, as if he was running away from something. He came to a halt in front of a giant wall in a big, empty room, with the same symbols on it. He started reading the inscriptions, and then.....something came....
FLASH! In the sky, Shu felt himself flying. He knew he was flying, but wasn't quite sure how. He tried to look around to see everything, but nothing was coming back to him like it should have been..."Why am I suddenly flying...? Is this a combination of two dreams?" No, this is the combination of your past and your future. However, you must discover which one is which... "What does THAT mean? (*No response*) Hello? I'm so confused....I don't understand this at all... FLASH!
He jumped awake, and it seemed to be somewhat later than what it was when he fell asleep. Auubi was sleeping next to him, the camp was set up, and a few of the others were somewhere else. Though Shuichi could have easily figured out where everyone else was due to the noise that they were making, he started walking the other way, feeling compelled, yet still having full control of his body. Shu could feel something almost....calling him. beckoning him closer. He kept moving, closer and closer, hearing/feeling that presence inside of him. Eventually, he stopped, blinked for a moment, turned around and returned to the campsite, laying back down in the grass. Shuichi turned the statement over in his head. Discover which one is which? What IS that supposed to mean...?
*vikki calls out to see if anyone would answer her*
Vikki:helloo anybody there?
Random person post
Baikasu looks at the newcomer after hearing the "WAAZZAAAAAAAAH" sweatdrop and says, "What's wrong with right here?"
Naoko wanders around her original home, trying to piece back together the memories in her heart.
"It's been so long..." she whispers to herself.
Yes, it has... her mother answers her.
Naoko's hands lightly brushed a dusted nightstand next to her. The memories were so much and all the questions began to rise as she lifted up a ragged doll that she had always carried around with her when she was little. The most important questions was: Why? Why did the town have to be destroyed? Why didn't the villagers fight back? Did they know of their fates and accepted it? If so, then why was her brother so against the humans? Why were the amulets so important...to him?
Why did her mother protect them?
In all of this confusion, Naoko's knees finally gave way and she curled in a ball in the corner of her room and cried.
* as vikki walks past a broken down house see hears crying*
Vikki: hello.........anyone?
*as she continues to walk into the house the crying gets a lil louder she follows the sound only to see a person curled up into a ball*
Vikki: hello? ru ok....*sigh*.....shes just another Ilushion.
"Hello? Are you okay?"
Naoko's eyes snap wide open and she sharply turns in the voices direction, her hand just above the hilt of her katana. No one.
Am I just seeing things?
Someone is here...but in another realm, Daemon explains.
Naoko frowns at the information. Another realm?
"Hey, Na-o-ko!!" Daewyn's voice called from afar. "Where are you?? It's time to eat!!"
Naoko quickly gets up, casting a spell to hide her tears and waves at the teenager from her window. "I'm right here."
Daewyn quickly runs up to the house before finding Naoko. The girl is unusually enthusiastic as she grabs her hand and drags her out of the home.
"Come on! Shao, Phey, and I found some really good fish at the river! Phey insisted on cooking, but she burned some of the fish already, and nobody knows how to fix it, and I thought that you could..." Daewyn rambled.
"Wha...what?" Naoko asks her as she is dragged out of the home. Just before they disappear around the corner to the campsite, however, Naoko takes one last look at her old home and sees a reflection of a figure from where she once stood.
Just what is going on?
Stranger: "WAZZZZAAAAAA!!"
*Pheys cocks an eyebrow at the stranger and looks to Baikasu and then back to the stranger*
"are you sure you can't talk here, i mean, you look hurt... you shouldn't travel in your condition... "
*thinking to herself* "heh, what strange fellow..."

that was wierd its like she could hear me but not see me
"Yeah. Condition. *Cough* *cough* *hack* If it's at all important, than it would be wise to address it here and now, because in a tavern we could be watched. This goes for everyone. We should plan on where we're going before getting back to town, and only go into town when we eed something there."
Not too far away from the gathered party lay a man in a ditch. He had dirty armour on and a tattered cape. His blond hair soaked in mud, and his face covered in wounds, the young man looked a sore sight indeed. Beside him lay a beat up gunblade and a necklace that had a shiny cross on it.
Vikki: why am i always alone.
Looking at the stranger, Shao just listens to the conversation whil chowing down on the food. He was just too hungry to talk. Also, just to be safe, he kept one hand free to reach for a weapon in case this was not a friendly person. Shao found it very difficult to trust someone when they do not bear an amulet....and even if they do have an amulet....

Shao finishes up the food finally, holds out his palm in front of himself, sips the water that formed on the palm, then gets up and stands beside Phey and Baikasu, awaiting the stranger to speak once again.
"Is it just me, or was he a few rounds short of a clip?" Baikasu asks outloud, mor to himself than to anyone else.
Isaiah groaned and tried to open his eyes. The bruises and other injuries were still very serious and he couldn't do anything to heal them. He groped out with left hand, trying to grab at his cross necklace.
"Co.....come on....gg.." he grunted, trying to reach farther. Finally his hand touched the cross and he felt a little relaxed. "A..at least..you're.....ok..." The beaten man managed a fient smile.

"Hey, you guys!! I found her!" Daewyn shouts to the group, dragging a somewhat reluctant Naoko behind her.
The teenager finally let her go after an hour travelling through the town to sit down with the others. Phey raises a piece of fish that has been impaled on a stick.
"Want some?" she asks.
"Um...no...no thanks..." Naoko replies somewhat hesitantly before finding a place to sit. She looks around until her eyes meet with one of the strangers. "Who is he?"
Gwyn shrugs. "He just popped out of nowhere..."
The stranger stared back at Naoko before grinning. "Hello!"
Something about the stranger's look in his eyes made Naoko feel uncomfortable. The look wasn't one that she was used to getting as she adjusted her sarong. "So...where to?"
Isaiah once again reached around. His body still ached from the battle he was just in. He reached into his pocket and took out the small chocobo shaped like stone. "G..gersh, I need ya, buddy.."
He dropped the stone onto the ground and a chocobo was summoned. The beast was about 7 feet tall and covered in golden featheres. It ..warked.. and picked up Isaiah, gently dropping him on its back. It then retrieved his gunblade and started trotting through the woods. Soon they came upon the gathered group of adventurers. "Wark!" It screeched at the party.
"Great... more company... why does this always happen to us?" he asks Phey. "I GUESS we could use help if they do have amulets."
The chocobo stomped and 'warked' for attention. Its friend was in trouble and it was unsure if anyone was even paying attention.
Baikasu Walked to where the chocobo was, and said, "I'm here to help. Don't be afraid. Alright, follow me." Baikasu then started to lead the chocobo to where everyone else was. "Guys! Someone is in critical comdition! I need some help here!"
The chocobo warked a few more times and gently set Isaiah to the ground. The man groaned and his eyes slowly opened to see whoever was around (ooc: not exactly sure who all is there). He tried to speak but the wounds were still too bad.
Isaiah, not being able to see well at this point in time, could barely speak. It hurt his throat to try but he had no idea what was going on. "W..who..is there..I..." he suddenly began to cough again and he brought a up a hand to rest his head on. "Out..of ..mp..can anyone cure me.."
Naoko gets up from her seat, despite being exhausted, and walks over to the newcomer's prone form. She brushes away some stray strands of hair on his forehead before placing her hand on it.
"I can heal you, but you have to stay still for a moment," she says to him and closes her eyes, whispering a cure spell in her language.
Green swirls of life circled around him and his wounds began to heal. After a couple of minutes, Naoko releases her hand away from his forehead and sits down, exhausted. Her own energy hadn't restored itself yet.
Isaiah set himself up and sighed. "Thank you very much...for helping me. My name is Isaiah Litehart, a Holy Knight from Grindal. Your name?" Isaiah reached into his pocket and brought out a bottle. "It's an ether..I sure could use some of this." He took a drink and closed his eyes. He handed some to Naoko, unsure if she wanted some or not. He then stood up and retrieved his gunblade. He looked a little down. "I think it's broken. Ah...and my armour...Oh, that is Gersh by the way" he pointed to the chocobo who warked in response.
Naoko shakes her head at the offer of Ether.
"No...no thank you. My name is Naoko. Naoko Rolfe."
She looks at the others with tired eyes to see if they will introduce themselves.
Isaiah began going through his packs, trying to sort the mess out. He loaded them on Gersh and then sat down. "Good thing I got him in his stone in or time or he woulda been toast." Isaiah smiled but it quickly faded away. He didn't want others to see his sorrow so he quickly grabbed his gunblade and began to fiddle with it. "S..so uh where exactly are you from?" He said to naoko, the only one really showing interest at this point in time.
"S..so, uh, where exactly are you from?"
Naoko tears her gaze away from the fire to look at Isaiah from the corner of her eyes. "This village. I'm one of the few survivors here..."
She could sense his nervousness...or uncomfort, but she couldn't tell if it was one or the other. His mind gave Naoko's head much a headache from the thoughts. Sometimes I wish I couldn't read people's minds... She looked away again, using what energy she had left to poke the fire.
"...And you?"
Isaiah looked down...'Where am I from...I-I orignally came from Miacka Village...a long time ago. There I did...some...things...well anyways I met someone who helped me to change. I saw him recently but he wasn't the way he was before. We battled...and I lost. I guess he broke my Gunblade.." Isaiah looked down farther, just staring. He felt horrible about his past, but he was learning to get by it. But seeing his friend, the man who changed him, to turn to the ways of evil..that really stung him.
Shuichi, though listening to the conversation, wasn't paying attention at all because of his dream...or so he thought it was a dream. Everything he had seen or thought since the Temple had been almost like a blur. He couldn't quite understand any of it, and every time he tried to think about it he started getting a headache and feeling dizzy. Eventually, he realized that there ACTUALLY was a conversation and said, "WHOA! I'm sorry! I didn't even notice that you were here! My name's Shuichi, although you can call me Shuu for short." He noticed that both of the two people talking seemed worn out, and instantly cast a healing spell to make them, (not knowing that that had already been done), and stated "There! Much better! Now...ummm...what were you guys talking about?"

Isaiah looked at the man who had just woken up. He stood up and bowed slightly, now at complete hp. "Hello, I am the Holy Knight, Isaiah Litehart, from Grindal. I was in...a terrible battle with an old friend. That chocobo is Gersh. I..have nowhere to go currently, as I help those who are in need... wanderer..yes I am just a wandering loner." Isaiah forced a smile and laughed despite himself. "And you, good sir?"
"Gersh huh? .... wow"
*Phey was snooping around the golden chocobo with great interest, but turned her attention to the newcomer*
"heh, pardon my rudeness.... i'm Pharoah Phey, you can just call me Phey. i'm from a small village, though i've been traveling most of my life, so i care not about it.....i'm happy to meet you."
*phey reaches out and shakes his hand with enthusiasm.*
"And I'm Baikasu, the mercenary. Nice to meet you."
Isaiah stood up and shook their hands. He noticed Pheys interest in Gersh. "He looks mean but he's really nice. If you wanted I'm sure he'd take you for a ride." Isaiah almost shuddered a little bit when he heard mercenary. Memories of his past flooded back into him, but he wasn't going to say anything negative about the people who saved him. He smiled brightly. "SO can I be of any service to you guys? I owe you a debt now!"
"Well...." Shu started, "you could help us with something that we are trying to do... Y'see, we have these amulets.....well, THEY have amulets, anyway..." He gestured toward everyone else. "I have a coyote. Hopefully, I'll explain that later. Anyway, we are trying to go to each of the Temples that are connected to the amulets. We've already been through one, with much difficulty, but we still need to find and 'explore' the others. So, as one wanderer to another, I'm asking you if you would be so kind as to help us? We could certainly use some help..." With that, he smiled. Then, he noticed 'Gersh'. "WHOA!" Shu said as he backed up, almost into a table. "Is that a...a...chocobo?!"
FLASH! Shu almost fell down due to the sudden impact of memory. Why am I so afraid of chocobos? Do I have a....FEAR OF CHOCOBOS?!?!
Isaiah looked a little surprised. "Why yes...this a chocobo...a golden one at that. Had it bred specifically to aid me on my journeys..nice guy that Bill..anyways.." He stared at Shuichi for a second. "Er..yes I will definately help you. Amulets hmm?" He looked at the mysterious cross that he had and wandered where it came from once more. He had found it a year ago and couldn't part with it since. "Well then, I suppose we must off to a temple then?"
Shuu backed away from the chocobo, absolutely terrified and shaking like crazy. "I-I'm s-s-sorry..." He stammered, "I-I d-don't know why I'm s-so a-a.....afraid..." He tried to come closer, but it 'warked' and he jumped back against the wall. "AUUUUUUUUUUUBI!!! Why am I so afraid of it?!"
Maybe something happened in your past that gave you a phobia of chocobos...That's the only reasonable answer that I can see.
B-but...but I..I can't remember!" Shuichi continued, before trying to overcome his 'fear' and come closer to it. "U-u-uhhhh...g-g-goooo-ood c-chocobo...." But, he just couldn't do it. He stood still, looking down and closing his eyes tightly. "W-what is...it's name...?"
The chocobo tilted its head curiously. Then it leaned in real close to Shuichi and then...warked really loudly in his face. Isaiah held in his laugh and gently patted Gersh on the back of its neck. "Gersh is his name (ooc: named him after my cat hehe) ..he's as friendly as you can get." Isaiah fiddled with his gunblade some more. "Why won't..this..work.." He took it slammed it against a builder and it exploded. "Oh..there was sime gunk between the trigger..thats why it wouldn't explode." Isaiah turned around and grinned. "Oh you can call me Isa for short! I'm used to be called Sir Litehart, hehe, but that's just a title!"
Turns to Shuichi and says, "Shuichi, the best way to get rid of fear for something is to facee it or spend lots of time near it.And I think it would be wise to at least attempt it. Otherwise, I would have to ask Isa if I can teather you to Garth."
"Don't worry Shuichi..the only way Gersh would attack you is if i told him too, right Gersh?" THe chocobo warked loudly and brought its head high, towering over Suichi. Isa walked over and hopped on his back. "So where is this next temple at my new companions?"
".......Tether.....TETHER?!" Shuichi looked up. "NO WAY!!!! You would have to FIGHT me just to keep me down long enough!!" Then, he calmed down as much as he could (considering the circumstances) and said "You're right, though. Staying near the chocobo would be the best way to get over my fears....but....but..." He glanced over at the gold chocobo, stood for a second, then winced and said, "I CAN'T!" and ran and crouched behind the nearest object, which was a chair. "I....I d-don't know....why....I'm a-afraid of G-Gersh..." Shu stammered, "I-I r-really can't understand w-why.....I....I-I think I-I even HAD one when I was younger.....b-but now..." He got up, looked down, and said "I-I'm sorry. I...I'll try, okay?" He walked out of the building and sat down outside on the grass. A new thought crossed his mind. This just gives me more incentive to find my past...Mom....Dad.....everyone...what happened to you.......? A single tear slid down his face...

"Perhaps I was just a bit too mean. I was obviously kidding." SWEATDROP. Baikasu follows Shuichi outsided. "I was just kidding, you realize. Sorry about that. But really, how could a chocobo do something so incredibly sadistic that you would be daethly afraid of them?"
"I-I really don't know...." Shu sniffled. "All I can remember about....me...is
that I lost my family somehow, and something happened with chocobos. And..." He thought for a moment. "Flying. Something with flying. But I'm not sure, and I don't know anything else about my past at all. Not even what town I'm from, or who my parents were, or what happened to them..." Shuichi started sniveling a little more, with a few more tears running down his face. "I'm lucky to know my name age, and even THAT I'm not sure of..." His shoulders started shaking, while he buried his head in his arms, trying to hide the tears and pain starting to come back. "That's why I'm traveling. I'm hoping to find something...anything about my past. And, I had a feeling that I might find something out by going to these Temples, which is kinda why I'm still here, y'know?" He looked up at the sky, wiping the tears away. "Lately, I've been having these weird dreams, or flashes, or whatever, too...where I was flying....and I keep feeling like it's all connected somehow...but I'm really not sure..." He stopped, sighed, and looked to the ground. "I'm sorry. I'm rambling on again. I hope you don't mind..." With that, he got up, looked at Baikasu, and smiled. "Thanks for listening, though. I really needed to tell someone about that, since it's been bothering me lately...Anyway, we need to get moving. Where are we going to now?"
"I dunno. We should probably ask Naoko. Anyway, I have a question." He pauses for a second, then says, "Does the name Baskai Village mean anything to you?"
"Baskai Village......ummm.........I'm not sure. It kinda sounds familiar, I think...Why?"
::watches the travelers from far away with a cactuar by his side::
Isa walked outside on Gersh to greet the other two. "Er...shuichu, I can summon Gersh away if need be...although he doesn't like it. " Gersh began to wark and flap his wings in protest. "Er..maybe not.....I can leave if you want then.."
"Not a chance. Phobia or no phobia, we need the help. And, if Gersh doesn't like being summoned away, then he can stay. Either way, I MUST get over my fear, and this may be the best way..." Shu said all of this while attempting to come closer to Gersh.
Ah, I forgot to mention something to you, Shuichi. Auubi said.
"Hm? What do you mean?"
I mean that you should probably know that the body I am in is not an average coyote. From what I can tell, this seems to be called a 'Fang'. However, this species is unusual to me, as I have never heard of such a thing. Then again, I do not know what quite a few
"Ummm...okaaaaay.....that was relevant how?"
Well, generally speaking, Fangs are stronger than average coyotes, which allows me to help you in battle. Also, though most Fangs are not too powerful, this particular black/silver one seems to be quite the contrary. Not only is it stronger, but it can also restore it's energy rapidly.
"Oh....I see now! That's great!" Shu stated. He felt....strange though. He realized something about his 'flashes'. "Auubi, what is the point of this gem on my forehead...?"
I believe that I already stated this, Shuichi. It is a link for us, and it also has......other properties. Do not worry, because you will find out soon...
"Ummmm...what's that supposed to mean?" Shu wondered, somewhat worried about what was in store for everyone soon...If I have the powers of Time and Gravity, and I can teleport, then why the heck can't I see into the future?! That would be really helpful right about now!
*man i guess i'll rest here tonight*
Vikki:*sigh* Man i wish there were people here to talk to crying maybe i'll see some later...
Isa shrugged. "Well than, I will ride ahead and see if theres anything around. I guess I'll be scouting." Isa reached into a pack on Gersh and retrieved a small horn. He passed it to Shuichi. "Blow in it if you need me." With that the two galloped off ahead.
They galloped onwards when Gersh picked up something. "What is it Gersh?" Gersh warked and rode up ahead abit. When Isa came around a bend he saw a women and her two children huddled in fear. He then saw an armoured man sitting on a huge purple beast. It looked similar to a firless lion, with two huge black horns and a teeth full of sharp fangs. It had a long orangish-brown mane down its neck. It was a behemoth.
Isa rode onwards, not displaying any fear. He was unsure of what he could handle, after all he was just healed. He hopped off Gersh and told him to go back to the others quickly.
He popped open his barrel on his gunblade. He reached into his pocket and took out a green, glowing stone. An ultima stone. "Power of the negative force, work through my gun-Ultima Bullet." With that he shoved it into the gun and it began to glow green.
He then ran at the man with the behemoth. "Stop this madness!"

"The reason I asked you, Shuichi, is because you lost your hometown, too. That was where I lived until 5 years ago, when the town was destroyed. How long ago did you say it was that your town was destroyed?"
"Um, okay." Shu replied, before noticing something in the forest. He decided to find out just what that thing was. He walked toward it. Finally, he reached a clearing. "What the...was there actually a clearing here before? Auubi?" Shu noticed that he was currently alone. Then he noticed a shadow above him, and it seemed like the clearing was becoming larger..."Uh-oh! This can't be good!" Shu shouted as he moved away from underneath the shadow. As it landed, he found out just what the flying thing was. "A.....what the?..." Shuichi commented, shocked as three creatures landed. One was a Zemzelett, which was carrying a Mu and a Jabberwock (OOC: Three of my favorite cenemies in FF9 ^^)
"What the HECK is going on here?!?!" Shuichi exclaimed, thoroughly confused. As the three creatures came after him, he dodged quickly. "Auubi! Can you hear me?! PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!!"
It seems that I have been seperated from you. On purpose no doubt. Also, I have no information on the so-called 'clearing' that you are in. Someone must have created a rift in space to create that particular scenario. That's all that I can tell from the gem. Other then that, you are on your own...
"WHAT?!?! You mean to tell me that you can't detect the enemies here?! Shoot!" Shu said as he moved around the clearing while being attacked by all three. He shot the Jabberwock multiple times, but the Zemzelett healed it.
Hmmm...I see...go for the Zemzelett, and they will all fall...
He started firing at the Zemzelett, but nothing happened. "HUH?!?! I'm so confused right now..."
Well, hello... A creepy voice said. Everything stopped altogether. "EH?!?!?! What the...."
Hmmm...your voice seems familiar, young one... The creepy voice continued. It seemed to be all around the thoroughly confused Shuichi.
"STOP IT!!! Why don't you reveal yourself! I'm not afraid!!!"
Hmph. No need to. Just yet. I want to make my presence clear to you though, since it is obvious that it is all coming back to you...
"ARGH!!!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!! Coming back to me?! WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!?!?!" With that, he started shooting everywhere to bring the hidden terror out of his 'shell'.
You are starting to bother me....However, you are by far the most interesting case I have ever seen.
"Wha...? Why? I'm still confused..."
Why? Because you aren't dead, that's why! However, though we shall not meet now, we will definitely meet soon. So be prepared....heh heh heh heh...
With that, there was a flash, and the enemies started attacking again. This time, though, the battle became normal and Shuichi defeated the Zemzelett, followed by everything else. When he defeated the enemies, though, he noticed the bodies start to glow, before a strange energy lifted and went straight to the gem on Shuichi's forehead. "What the...? Shu stated, "I must've missed something...Auubi...I am not getting any this..."
Are you alright, Shuichi? Ah! I can sense the enemies now! Or, at least the energy that came from them. It seems that you have finally activated the gem. Either that, or some outside force must've done so for you...
"Ummm....activated what?" Shu questioned. That's when he noticed that the 'clearing' reverted back to the area of the forest that he was in. He turned around, and saw Auubi further ahead, closer to where everyone else was.
So there you are. Please return this way, Shuichi, as seperation from the others is NOT a good idea right now. You are the only one with the horn from Isaiah, so if anything were to happen to everyone else, they would have no contact with him. Speaking of which, Isaiah may need your help...
"You're right. I'll be right there..." Shu stated, running back to the group. As he returned, he noticed that Isa was missing...
[Baikasu's question again]
"Huh?" Shu said, just barely missing the question. Baikasu repeated his question/comment. "Oh. Well, I'm not really sure. That's one of the things that I really can't seem to remember...By the way, where is Isa?"
"He left on Gersh."
"Oh no...." Shu stated, "Do you know which way he went? He may be in trouble!"
Isa avoided a swipe from te behemoth. The man looked angry to see someone interrupt him. He raised his finger high and fireballs errupted towards Isa.
He held his gunblade in front of him and shouted "Shell!" And a force of white magic covered him, protecting him from the firey onslaught. Isa glared at his opponent fiercly. " Who are you? And why are you assaulting these people?"
The man sneered at him and paced around him on his behemoth. "I am Isengard, a black knight under the command of Tenma..an old friend of yours. He seeks the shards, and this family had one hidden away. I have obtained it and given it to another soldier. I was just going to have some fun.."
"You call harassing innocents fun? You're sick you monster.." Isa brought his gunblade to bare, still glowing green from the ultima bullet. He charged at the man, who looked surprised to see someone charge a behemoth face on. Isa swung his blade and hit the behemoth. The behemoth roared in pain and a green explosion was created on the impact.
The man flew off his steed and the behemoth flew into a small house. ISa glared at his opponent once more. "Surrender..your steed has been taken out of the fight."
Isengard smirked and reached into his pocket. He had a handful of tiny crystal and he tossed them to the ground. "I will not be staying to battle you this day but play with these. Monster summons!!"
From the crystals immerged 4 hedgehog pies, (little tubby orange guy from ff7), 2 grand horns (from ffvii), and two dragon zombies (ff7). Isa backed away abit but not because he was scared but because something else was being summoned.
The ground exploded and a horned dog-like man stood. "I, Ifrit, will take care of you.."

Suddenly, a chocobo appeared from the forest. "WAH!" Shu exclaimed, jumping back before realizing that it was golden. "Huh? Oh! Gersh! Q-Quickly, w-where is Isa?"
The chocobo warked and looked in the direction that it came from.
"O-Okay, now to g-get there..." Shu stammered, trying to teleport there. "Not again!" Shu stated, noticing that it wasn't working. "Aw, Auubi, why won't teleportation work this time? I'm fully recovered and everything!"
Well, though you are fully restored, you still have no idea where you are trying to teleport to. You must know where you are going in order to teleport.
"ARGH! How am I supposed to get there, then?!"
Well, you could ride the chocobo.
"Ummmmm....." Shuichi looked back at the chocobo. "I-I don't know if I c-can..." Finally, Shu said "Well, now is as good a time as any to get over my fears, right? So let's GO!" He mounted the chocobo-with much, MUCH difficulty-and looked down at Baikasu. "Are you coming? We have to help Isa!" Baikasu jumped on and they started riding to Isa's location...still with much, MUCH difficulty...
Isa knew his opponent would have to be ifrit, the firey demon. He easily pushed past the hedgehog pies and dodged the grandhorns but he was stuck face to face with the two dragon zombies.
Isa ducked backwards to avoid two consecutive pandora's box spells. Isa gritted his teeth as he felt two powerful fists punch into his back. He stumbled forward and narrowly avoided a strike from a dragon zombie.
He noticed the glow dieing in his gunblade. "Blast its out of power." He took the ultima stone out while dodging an attack from a grand horn. He was then struck by the other grand horn and went flying into a tree.
He popped the barrel open and took out another stone. "Contain my foes in your elemental fury-Contain bullet!" He loaded it in and the sword took on a clear look.
He stood up, ready to fight on.
*The others were walking a ways behind Shuu and Baikasu, and saw them as the rode off on Gersh.*
Kelwyn: "where are they going?"
Shao: "i don't know..."
Naoko: "we should follow them, if they take off like that then it's trouble."
Kelwyn, Shao, Naoko, and Phey chased after them on foot while Gywn was in the skies riding his dragon.
As Shuu finally reached the area, he quickly jumped off of the chocobo, shouting "I will NEVER ride that again!" And turned around, looking at the situation. Isa was nowhere in sight, a considerably dead behemoth was lying off to the side of a newly smashed building, hedgehog pies were in multiple spots, though Shuichi couldn't figure out if they were dead or not. There were also two Grandhorns and two...."DRAGON ZOMBIES?!?! NO WAY!!!"
"Just who are you, anyway? A strange person in the middle of it all said.
"My name's Shuichi, but that doesn't matter right now. Where's Isa?!"
...Shuichi, that tree... Auubi 'whispered'.
"Huh? Oh...." Shu stated as he looked up and saw Isa in the tree. What is he doing up there, anyway?
"HEY! Get out of here, kid! You're in the way!" The person said. Then, he sent the Grandhorns after Shuichi. "What?!" Shuichi stated, dodging the Grandhorns while charging energy. "Do you really think that just two Grandhorns can take me down? Are you serious?!" With that, he formed a cross with his guns and shouted "BEACON CHARGE!", blasting the Grandhorns into oblivion with multiple simultaneous bursts of white and black energy. "HA! Is that all you've got?" Shu said in a cocky manner, not quite realizing that there were still two Dragon Zombies left... "Uh-oh....."
Isengard smirked and dropped two more crystals on the ground, unnoticed. He then disappeared completely. Isa didn't care at the moment. All he cared about was Ifrit. "Demon.." he growled. He then saw Shuichi and nodded to him. "Well met, my new friend."
He charged straight towards Ifrit, dodging a dragon zombie and going right for Ifrit. The beast towered 3 feet over him and was lightly on fire. It crossed its arms and smirked. "Human, what do you think you can do to me?"
"You will be vanquished from this plane." Isa said flatly and lunged forward, his blade leading the way. Ifrit summoned a staff into his hand. The staff was covered in red and black bandages and a circle at the top. In side the cirle was a floating red materia and two spikes from the cide of the circle.
Ifrit parried the blow from Isa and quickly countered. Isa managed to stop that blow as well. Soon it became a festival of attacks, but none seeming to get through each others defence. Finally Ifrit could not parry the blow properly and fell backwards. His gunblade went to the side and hit a tree, the tree suddenly turned to stone. "Blast it" muttered Isa. His contain bullet was starting to die so he popped out while he could.
Ifrit took the opportunity to strike a blow on Isa. Isa felt his skin burn but with a powerful backhand knocked ifrit away. He popped out a blue stone. "Icy cold water, fill my blade with your grace-Aqua Bullet!" His water turned blue and ifrit seemed to scowl at this.
"Full of tricks...aren't you."
"Isa!" Shuichi gasped as he noticed the duel between him and Ifrit. Shu instantly opened his spellbook, flipped to Wall, and cast it on Isa. "Good luck. I'll take out the Dragon Zombies..." With that, Shu flipped the pages of his spellbook to Life3 and cast it on both of the Dragon Zombies, taking them out instantly. Then, after feeling s strange energy wave, said "Hey! Tell me if you need my help, Isa!" and began flipping through the spellbook some more, looking for an ice spell...

Isa leapt at his foe again,and the two once more began their dance. The fight was getting more furious by the blow. Sparks errupted when the two weapons clashed, threatening to burst into flames. Isa ducked low from a swipe from Ifrits staff and it severed a tree clean in half.
Near Shu the other two crystals pulsed and out came two Dual Horns. The large, horned beasts growled and immediately charged him.
Isa plunged his gunblade forward and burst of steam errupted from the wound the blade caused on Ifrit. The summoned beast roared with anger and smashed a fist into his face. Isa cupped his face in pain and his eyes glowed feircly.
He began to glow slightly. He could take more from this beast, and he went into a furious rage. His limit was activated. "Giga Slash!" he shouted. He ran at his opponent and a serious of slashes began, each slash followed by an explosion from the gunblades barrel. In this case it happened to be a water element, due to the bullet in it.
Isa fell to the ground after the onslaught and clutched his chest. Every time he used this amazing move his hp was cut in half. Thinking Ifrit was dead he was about to cast a cure spell on him when he heard the beasts flaming voice high above.
"Hellfire!"
Isa could no longer see Ifrit, instead he saw a huge ball of fire heading their way.
Shu, tackled by the Dual Horns, quickly recovered from it and noticed that Isa was on the ground recovering from his limit, while a gigantic ball of fire headed his way. That's when Shuichi realized something: WHY don't I just stop time...? "Perfect!" Shu whispered and started glowing. The gem started glowing, too. Then, Shu held his hands up and stopped time altogether. Realizing that there was a limit to the time freeze, he got up, shot the new enemies a multitude of times, and then healed Isa before time unfroze. I hope that's enough, cause I don't think I can do anything else... Shuichi thought, casting Wall on himself as well...
Isa knew he could escape the ball of fire. He had shell and wall cast upon him, not to mention the elemental defense that the aqua bullet provided. He also thought shu would survive this with minimal injury. But he knew the mother and her two children would not. The wouldnt be able to escape the blast zone in time even if they started running a few minutes ago. Isa hated these kind of explosions attacks..he especially hated them because he used to use these on villages too.
He hated himself for it.
He held his sword over his head and closed his eyes. This was going to hurt. But he would accept the pain, like his own personal purgatory. He leapt up in the air and collided with the hellfireball. The pain was intense but he pushed on and the ball flew into the air and exploded high above the village and the forest.
Isa fell back to the earth and hit the ground hard.
"s**t!!!!!" Baikasu yells, riding towards the mother and children when he saw Ifrit in the sky, charging his Hellfire attack! "C'mon, Gersh! Run or we ALL die!" He reaches the mother and children, grabs them while still riding at tp speed, and pull them up onto Gersh's back. He thinks to himself, Only 4 seconds left! I don't think I'm gonna make it...
4 seconds go by...
BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM
I'm... alive? how can this be? He stops Gersh, then turns back.
Isa laid a smoldering heap on the ground. A few seconds passed before he regained conciousness. His body hurt all over AGAIN. He sat up despite the pain and asked in a low voice. "T..the fam..family alright?" After that he slumped back down.
"Wha....? Why did he...?" Shu questioned, before realizing that there were villagers, now fleeing, who would've been blown to bits had that hit. "OH...now it makes sense..." With that, Shu rushed to Isa, realized that he was still breathing, and cast Curaga on him. Just as Shu did this, he heard a loud THUD behind him, and turned around to see Ifrit laughing at them.
"Fools. Only fools would risk their own lives to save insignificant weaklings."
"SHUT UP!" Shu cried out, fully enraged. He felt the same feeling that he did at the Temple, the 'burning wings' feeling. Shu charged at Ifrit, shooting multiple times, before realizing that there was no effect.
"Do you really think that you could possibly hurt me with those puny guns? Pathetic."
"Hmmm....maybe..." Shu stated, before adding "However, you ARE a fire demon, so I've got just the perfect thing for you..." He said this as he started casting Demonbane...
Isa got up and cast Regen on himself. The curaga brought him back from the brink of death and regen would do the rest. "Ifrit isn't..dead." he said and pointed upwards. The demon was still there but flew away in a rocket of fire. "You just killed a shadow he created before the attack. He knew he would be weakened from Hellfire so he made some precautions..."
Isa unloaded the aqua bullet and put it in his pouch. "You guys felt well, to bad I wasn't of enough assitance towards the end," he sighed and walked back to Gersh and gave him a pet. "If you still want me to come, I saw we head to the next temple. Assuming it isn't that far away. However it is getting late so I am camping here." Isa pulled out a tent and quickly set it up.
"Good idea." Shu replied, stopping his spell in mid-cast. Worn out, he noticed that his gem was still glowing, shining brightly. This gave him an idea. "If you want, I'll take first watch." He stated, before adding, "after all, you need the rest much more than I do....By the way, don't you think that it's sort of strange that Baikasu and the others aren't here, even though Baikasu rode with me on Gersh? And I'm pretty sure that the others were following us...Also, you said something before falling to the ground. Something like 'the family alright'. What did that mean?"
Isa laid down. There was a family..Isengard was harassing them. I can sense their life force so I gather them to be fine. I also sense gersh and i think...baikasu too..could be wrong.."
Shu stood up and paced while Isa laid down. "Okay, I see now." He replied to Isa, "Auubi and I should go look for Baikasu and Gersh then. They can't be too far away, right?" With that, he stopped pacing, split up from Auubi and began searching for them, calling out "BAAAAAAAAIIIIIIKASU! GEEEEERSH!" while thinking, That chocobo....I don't think I'll be able to even look at it now, since riding it was a disaster....And yet, I'm the one looking for it... Shu sighed. Either way, I don't know where they are, or where to begin looking. And what about the others? We have to find them, too, since we pretty much abandoned them by 'riding' off into the forest...What should I do...?
Shuichi, I understand that you are worried about the recent events. However, you must not let it stop you from finding everyone. Speaking of which, I think I found something...
Shu walked over to Auubi. "Huh? What do you mean, 'found someTHING'?"
Well, look.
A shred of cloth was on the ground near where Auubi was standing.There was also a chocobo feather... "Ummmmm...." Shu stated, going from nervous to almost frenzied, "okaaaaaaaaaay....at least it's a start.....let's not hope that that's ALL that it is.." They started frantically searching now...

Isa needed only to rest for a little bit. Regen was still running through his body and he wasn't tired at all. He got up and paced around the camp site they made. Something haunted the back of his mind. "What exactly did Isengard take from that family?" He went to the building where they were confronted at and searched around.
The place was a mess, indicating that a confrontation may have taken place. Isa didn't want to poke around where his nose didn't belong so he walked back to the camp and waited for the others to return.
He poked at the fire and took some food out of his pack and began to eat. After a bit he took out his bullets to make sure they were back to their full power and put them back away. His eyes drifted down when he saw something between his feet. One of the crystals used to summon a monster. A grin stretched from ear to ear and he picked it up. After studying it his smile grew larger. "Heh..I know what to do with this."
Shu could hear noises back at the campsite, but wasn't really worried about Isa, knowing that he was restored. (i)Actually, he is probably in better condition than I am at this point. Shuichi thought. After all, I feel pretty worn out. The only reason that I'm out here in the first place is due to the fact that I know that I wouldn't be able to sleep without knowing that everyone else is okay...(i) He continued searching, but was feeling more and more tired each time. Finally, he found something else in the forest, and decided to inspect it. It seemed to be some sort of crystal...
Shuichi, you should not furthur inspect that strange object. Whatever it is, you are in no condition to defend yourself if the situation calls for it...Also, I don't sense anything related to the rest of the group here.
"One moment....this shouldn't take long." Shu replied, gazing at the thing. That's when he realized three things: There were two of the, they seemed to be floating and the forest seemed to be getting strangely darker. The floating objects also seemed to be shaped like....
"Eyes!" Shu exclaimed, before the creature jumped out and attacked him. He got back to his feet after being tckld, just to be tackled from behind. "Auubi! What the heck IS this thing?!"
Actually, I'm not quite sure myself. Although I can see it with this Fang's eyes, I can't quite tell what it is.It just seems like a shadow...
"Oh no.....not that again..." Shu stated, getting the feeling that he would feel that weird voice again. "I don't even have my spellbook on me...shoot..."
He got up, and was almost tackled a third time, had Auubi not intervened. Auubi hit the strange shadow creature directly, knocking it sideways. It instantly resumed it's original position, and attacked Shuichi again, this time clawing/biting him multiple times. Shuichi yelped in pain before kicking it into the air and firing a shot from both guns at it. It made a strange sound before disappearing altogether.
Hmm....tsk tsk. It seems that you couldn't stand up to one of my most basic creatures. Heh. That's okay, though, as you are still not dead yet. Therefore...
"IT'S YOU AGAIN!" Shu managed to say before several more similar creatures began to circle Shuichi and Auubi.
Now, Shuichi! Use your power!
"Huh? What power?"
Your gem. Concentrate, and it will be accessible...
"Wha....? Okaaay, I'll try..." Shu closed his eyes and began to concentrate on the brightly shining gem, focusing all of his remaining energy into it. One of the creatures tried to attack him, seeing a weak spot, but vanished on the spot.
Wha...?! How did you defeat one of my creatures without even moving?!
Good. Keep concentrating!
Shuichi didn't notice either of them, only the strange aura that was surrounding him. Suddenly, he opened his eyes, and the 'mysterious' gem on his forehead proved a new use. It extended, and became more of a horn than a gem. "What....what is this...?" Shu asked, completely puzzled.
This... Auubi began, This is the potential of that gem. It is also called the "Summoner's Horn". Maybe you have heard of it. Nevertheless, do you remember the creatures that you fought in that void?
".......Yeah...."
Good. Well, you have obtained the ability to summon them by way of distorting Time and Space, and bringing them into existence instantaneously. They are not strong right now, and neither is your ability, but that will improve over time. Though you can only summon basic creatures like these right now, you will eventually be able to call the guardians, such as Ifrit, with little problem.
"Wow...." Shu said. "So, how do I summon them?"
Just call them....in your mind.
"Call them....in my mind...?" Shu asked, before figuring out what Auubi meant. Okaaaaaaay....which one? How about.....Jabberwock? Suddenly, the Horn started shining more, and with a new gust of swirling winds, the Jabberwock appeared. It attacked all of the surrounding enemies with Earthquake, destroying them completely.
Hmmm...this new power of yours intrigues me, Shuichi. You may not be strong, but you are stronger than you were before...however, you are becoming a pest for living by the grace of luck for so long. I will return soon...Good bye.
The forest returned to normal. Shu panted in a very tired way, and his Horn returned to it's gem-like form. Also, the Jabberwock disappeared with the retraction of the Horn. "Ughhhh......my head...." Shu said weakly.
Shuichi, return to the campsite now. You are in no condition to find the others now.
"Okay....." Shu said as he started limping back to the camp, bloody in multiple spots, including his right leg. It's a......good thing.....that I didn't get too far.....away from the camp......
As he finally made it back to the campsite, with Auubi at his side, he saw Isa. "I......saaaaaa...." Shuichi said weakly. He was almost reduced to a crawl now. "I'm......sorry.......I....I didn't find them......." With that, he dropped to the ground, falling into unconsciousness...
Isa smiled brightly. "I did it!! I've never tried this before, I'm anxious to see how this baby works." Isa stood up and brought his gunblade out. He popped open the barrel and took out the new crystal bullet he had formed. "If this works..I can have a whole new arsenal at my disposal."
He closed his eyes and concentrated."I take your power unto mine- Dragon Zombie Bullet!" He shoved the bullet in the barrel and shut it. Nothing happened. "Sigh, I guess it didn't work..." Isa stood for a moment. "This is the part where it's supposed to happen anways." He stared at the gun." .... " Still nothing. "Cough..." Isa got mad and lowered his gun. "Whatever."
Seconds later the gunblade began to shake and quickly brought it up. The hilt changed a little bit and he could feel the shaking clear through his own body. "C-c-c-co-oo-oo-ll-ll" he gasped. A mist appeared around him and then the aura of that resembled a dragon zombie was around him. His voice was a bit deeper and raspier. "I wonder what attacks I have with this thing?" He heard someone coming and quickly popped out the bullet. He turned around to see shu collaspe.
"Shu...what the heck?" he said curiously. He walked over and placed his hands on his back. "Lay on hands." Lay on hands was a move reserved for paladins. It completely restored the hp of someone. It can't be used to often without the user starting to lose his own hp. "Wake up, buddy.."

"WARK!" Baikasu and Gersh appeared from the thick brush of the forest, Baikasu looking exhausted, with a many cuts an bruises, and the occational bandage upon himself, feathers poking outy at odd angles on Gersh. He had his katana ready on his right hand, his other hand keeping control of Gersh. "Sorry for borrowing Ger-DAMNIT! WHAT HAPPENED THIS TIME?!!!" He yelled, as if agitated. He got off of Gersh, who walked towards Isa and Shuichi, and proceeded to do so himself.
Isa saw the wounds on Baikasu and cast curaga on him. He then walked up to Gersh and gave him a big hug. "So what happened to you guys? Did you see that family? They're alright, right?" Isa noticed something and walked over to where the behemoth was. While waiting for an answer from Baikasu he pushed the dirt around with his hands. "Aha, i knew it.." with that he picked up something and walked back.
As Shu became conscious again, he looked up. He saw Isa and Baikasu talking, and tried to get up. However, he felt a striking pain all over, and fell back down. "...ouch...." He said, not being able to get up. "What...is this? I shouldn't....still feel the pain...after being healed....should I? What did those....freakish shadows do....to me, anyway?!"
I would guess that they put some sort of curse on you. Do you have any spells that can cure it?
"No....it's....DEFINITELY too strong....of a curse..." Shu replied, trying to get up again. He succeeded this time, and walked/limped over to Kohki. "There...you...are..." he said weakly, with a weak smile to go along with it. "I was.....looking....all....over for you...." Then, he gripped his abdomen in pain and hissed. "Do you know where the others are, Baikasu?" Then, he noticed Isa seemingly searching for something. "What'cha...up to....Isa?"
He had so much pain inside that he felt like vomiting, and doubled over in pain. "A....ahhh...." he cried out. "What.....the.....heck.....? Why.....won't....the pain.....go away...?"
Isa had a knife out and was hacking at the small crystal. "Hehe that's two! These new bullets will help my all over! Hmm? Hey shu did you say something about curse? I am a paladin thus, I am adept at removing diseases and curses..I could try and help remove it..or at least contain the pain.."
"A......ahhhhhh......help..." Shu said weakly. "The pain....it won't go away..."
I do not think that he is adept enough as a paladin to remove this curse, unfortunately. Take into consideration that you, as a "cleric" of sorts, have not been able to remove it at all. However, if he could reduce the pain, that may help in removing it.
"Do....do you think you can do it, Isa?"
Isa took out his cross necklace and gripped it tightly. He closed his eyes and smiled. "I will do all that I can, my friend. I know not who you worship but may the power of God help me regardless." Isa knelt down beside him and took his free hand and placed it on his head.
Isa could feel the pain of the curse course inside of him as well. Sweat poured down his face a little and in a few seconds he was sweating all over. He could feel the pain of shu so well. He grit his teeth and started uttering a prayer. The pain started to grow smaller and smaller. Inside there their minds the pain was represented as a black cloud and a energy like cage formed around it and began to shrink it until it could shrink no more.
At the end of it all Isa fell back to the ground gasping. "Whew..amen," he muttered. He then looked at Shu. "You okay..feeling any better? I may be incorrect but did I sense another spirit in you?"
"Huh? Another....spirit...?" Shu questioned tiredly, before realizing that the pain was still there. "Ah....owwww.....it still hurts, but not nearly as much...thank you.....Anyway,what do you mean by 'another spirit'?"
Isa sat down with his head on his chins. "Hmmm I don't know what to make of this.."
"To answer your question, Isa, I had dropped the family off in a small neighboring house. Thy are safe, if not very sad upon losing their dad. They thanked me, and when I got back on Gersh we were attacked by a dragon zombie. I lucked out, though." He lifted a bottle "apparenly they don't like it when I pour this into an open wouind." He puts the container away and says, "Thanks for healing me. now, to sum this all up: You, Isa, went into the woods because you heard screams, then we followed, we beat up the monsters, and Ifrit appeared after being summoned by some high-and-mighty behemoth rider, then I run away with the family anf Gersh to save them from Ifirt's Hellfire attack, which you had jumped into to stop, then when I drop the family off, I'm attacked by another dragon zombie, thus having to use up the last of my curative objects, just to show up and have you heal them for me. All this right after Naoko and company, including myself and you, Shu, finish up going through a temple where I was almost illed by a dragon twice." He paused to take a deap breath, then says, "I think we deserve a good rest. We can find the others in the morning." And with that, Baikasu went over to the neaest house, shut the door, curled up into a defensive position, and fell asleep after making sure he was the only one inside the house.
"Really? That's...not good..." Shu said. "That means....that I might....have to go.....to the nearest.....town...and see if anyone...can cure it..." He wasn't quite sure of what he should do, so he decided on something positive. "S-L-E-E-P. I need...sleep, so I think...I'll lay down here..." Shu almost fell right over. "Wow, I'm tired...Good night, everyone..." As he was drifting off, he realized something and became slightly more lively. "OH! Spirit! That's right! I DO have....a spirit inside of me. The spirit you feel...is Auubi, my amulet...Y'see, my amulet had some slight complications....and had to transfer it's energy into a Fang...because of that...this gem on my forehead...which is more....MUCH more than a normal gem......is sort of a...link between us. Am I making sense...or am I rambling on about other things? I'm reeeeaaaally tired...less than half-awake right now...so I can't really tell..."

"I understand my friend. Just rest. I have no need for sleep anytime in the future. I will take a walk for now and you may all rest peacefully." Isa nodded to Gersh and the went for a walk around the town.
Not too far away Isa leaned against the wall with his hands on his head. He knelt down into the dirt and groaned a little bit. "He's calling me...he wants me to return..to my old ways....but..I can't..." He stood up and grasped his cross. " I won't return, Tenma. At least not in the way you want.."
Just that in front of him a portal opened. Out stepped a man in midnight armour. He was about Isas height and build and he had long purplish/silver hair. Isa grit his teeth and clenched his fists. "Tenma!"
"Isa, Isengard returned, informing me of what you had done. Silly, boy, why not just join me." Isa waited for no more to spoken and leapt at his foe. Tenma easily parried it with his own gunblade and kicked him right into a wall. "Stupid child, I came here with some warning. Stay out of my way, once I assemble the pieces you will never have a chance of standing up to me..got that?" With that he disappeared.
Isa looked at his hand hand in horror. Tenma did more than just kicked him. With such speed he touched him and some sort of blackness spread through him. A small tattoo was on Isas left hand. Isa had no idea what it meant but when he put his cross near it seemed to recoil and grow smaller. "Curse you, Tenma....my old friend. What have you done to me?"
Shu slept, but not with ease. Nightmares were the only dreams he had. Nightmares about....weird things, from the strange shadow creatures to the weird, grim voice to the chocobo. Finally, he saw them again. Wings. Soaring in the sky. Suddenly, without warning, something happened...Descent...
Shuichi gasped as he awoke. He saw the sun start to rise, which meant that it was early. He tried moving again, and felt some pain still, though not as much as before. He looked next to him, and saw Auubi sleeping peacefully.
Lucky... Shu thought, jealous at the fact that an amulet/Fang could get more and better sleep than he could. Then he started thinking about his nightmares. I haven't had nightmares like THAT in a while...Now, wings......what do they mean? Why can't I remember...? It must be connected to me SOMEHOW...
That's when Shu realized something. His Horn was fully extended again, with a blue-green glow. "Is that....a good sign?" He noticed more and more as he was waking up, such as the fact that he and Auubi were all alone, and that the forest seemed darker than usual....again. "No....NO!" Shu said as he realized what was happening. "No way! Not again!" However, he realized that it became brighter again. He looked up and noticed that the clouds were moving. "Oh....I see..." Shu said, calming down. "The clouds were covering the sun....that's all....yeah..." However, there was still something wrong. He turned around, and realized that there was another there. That's when he saw it. Deathguise.
"AH! WHAT THE....?!" Shu exclaimed before dodging the dark ball coming his way, leaving his spellbook next to Auubi. He lifted his guns. but the pain struck him in the joint of his right shoulder. "OW! Shoot, now what am I supposed to do? He's blocking me off from Auubi and my spellbook! Stupid memory loss! I wouldn't even NEED the book if I could only remember!" He started moving some more, before realizing that he could still summon. "No...my summons are too weak..." he said to himself. "What should I do?! I have nothing left but to run! ARGH!!!" he was shooting with his left hand, but his shots were only making the Deathguise stronger. The dark blasts were becoming more powerful, and harder to dodge. "Huh? Wait a minute...." Shuichi thought outloud. "Why isn't this working?! Ummm....okay, gotta remember a spell! ANY SPELL!!" movement was not working as well as it was before, so the blasts were coming closer to hitting every time. "Stupidstupidstupid! REMEMBER!!!" Shu said. Suddenly, words started coming to him. ".......That! That's worth a shot! Let's see.....think, think think...Word.....Judgement......." he started. "Ummmm.............Fate.....AH! THAT'S IT!" With that, he stopped moving, and started chanting. "Defiler of innocence, your impure soul is no longer worthy of the light. Cease all action, and prepare to face the wrath of Fate! WORD OF JUDGEMENT!!!" With that, the Deathguise suddenly froze altogether (as in stopped moving), and a strange aura surrounded it. A grandfather clock appeared over it's head, and stopped at 12 'o' clock. Then, the aura expanded and became a rip in Time/Space. The new rip sucked the Deathguise into the Realm of darkness, and then disappeared completely. "Whoa...." Shu said, surprised. Then, it hit him. "WHOA!!! I DID IT!!!! I ACTUALLY REMEMBERED A SPELL!!!! YEAH!!!! ALRIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!" With that, he jumped for joy and grinned. I hope this is the beginning of my memory returning... he thought. "Now....where did Isa go?"
It was fairly early so Isa went to the blacksmith's shop in the nearby town. He left his armour and gunblade and went outside. He felt a rumble in his stomach and decided that eating would be a good bet.
He walked over to a cafe and had a seat at a table. He rubbed his arm where the mark was and stared at it. "What could this be?" he wondered. He didn't understand what Tenma did to him but it freaked him out more than a little. He sighed and waited for a waitress or waiter to come for a few minutes. Finally a girl came up to him. "Can I help you sir?"
Isa looked up and smiled. "Yep! I'm pretty hungry! What do you have that could fill a guy like me?"
The waitress giggled and tapped her head with a pencil. "Hmmm..we have the Mesmerize Burger platter!"
Isa chuckled. "Beats the Malboro strips from the last town I was in. Sure I'll take that!" The waitress walked away. A few moments later she brought in the platter and he ate viciously.
Isa left the restuarant with a full stomach and a phone number he'll never use. He smiled and pocketed the paper anyways. On the way back to the weapon smith he heard a scream from an ally.
He ran in and saw two rat-like men hustling some girl. Isa charged in and body checked one of the wererats into a wall. Stunned but unharmed it rubbed its head. Isa dodged to the side as the other rat swung at him. Isa was in a bit of trouble. Although he could fight hand to hand he mostly used weapons. Against a human he would be fine but these were wererats and not to be taken lightly. Reaching for a pipe connected to a wall he tore it off and held it defensively in front of him.
Shu and the others walked to the nearest town, hoping that Isa was there, and that there was someone who could help Shu's 'curse'. Also, food was definitely needed. However, Shu had the feeling that no one could, at least not here or now...
Are you alright, Shuichi? You seem a little tired.
"I'm fine." Shu said, a little grumpily, "JUST fine."
They continued walking until they came to a restaurant, where everyone stopped at except Shu, who wanted to find someone who could cure him first.
"This is SO irritating!" Shuichi exclaimed, after searching for a while. "This reminds me of my old days as a wanderer! I always had to walk around in circles before finding anything!"
Maybe I can be of some service... A weird voice said. Suddenly, everything turned darker, and time seemed to stop altogether. Everyone around Shu stopped doing what they had been doing. Walking, running, playing, working, talking, eating....one of the people eating looked something like Isa from Shuichi's viewpoint. Shu figured that he'd have to look into that after getting out of this...
"Oh, not this AGAIN! Why don't you just leave me alone?! You've done enough damage already!"
Not quite, actually. I still believe that you should be dead, or should've been long ago. Lucky you, lucky you...
"HEY! What do you mean by 'Long ago'?!"
Oh, I see. Nevermind then. Anyway, I have another surprise for you. I hope you like it. Heh heh heh heh heh.....
With that, everything seemed to turn normal again.
"Huh...? What did he mean? There's nothing here!"
He looked around. Everything seemed to be normal. Even the statue that he was standing next to...
"Wait...was there a statue here before?"
The instant that Shu said that, the statue moved, and roared.
Shuichi, watch out! That is no ordinary statue! That is a Sand Golem!
".....SHOOT!" Shu exclaimed as he dodged an almost direct hit from the golem. He shot at it, not caring about the pain that he felt in his arm. However, the bullets were simply absorbed into the sandy body.
"ARGH!!! Why is it that everything I've fought today has NOT been affected by my guns?!?!" He dodged another attack and began casting a spell. However, he couldn't finish it, because the Sand Golem began creating a sandstorm...
"A....a sandstorm?! How...? There's no sand, and it isn't using any sand from itself!*"
Heheha.....this is no ordinary sand golem that you are fighting here. It can create a sandstorm from nothingness. A devastating one, too. It's sandstorm will decimate this town and all of the lifeforms currently in it as well. Have fun watching the countless casualties....hehe...
"NO! All of these people.....they will...THEY'LL DIE!!!!!"
Shuichi, there is no way to save these people from their impending doom, and you cannot protect them because the sandstorm was created inside the city.
