As Sam dressed herself up, Joey finished himself up with the usual- brushing his teeth, drying and brushing his hair, deodorant, etc. He came back out and Sam was just about done. He simply replied to her, "You look good." He wasn't very good at the compliments. He got straight to the point and that was it. "Curled your hair?" he asked only because it was so rare that she did so. Not that he knew of her intentions, just because it was so rare of her to do so.

[[Not that it matters, but since Sam doesn't cook I'm guessing Joey is the one who cooks for the two of them? I was just thinking of that before. Just curious. haha, I should make a pic of him with an apron that says 'kiss the cook' X3]]

Atem followed Yugi out of the house. He was moving rather quickly to leave, were they late? He had no idea about his and Grandpa's discussion earlier. He looked at Yugi when he began to talk but turned his gaze to the ground. Of course he knew Sam was going to be there, that's why he didn't want to go. If they were going to hang out with Joey, and just Joey, some place else, he would have just dragged himself with them without the stress. "I'm not going to fight with her...." he said, "I don't want to fight anymore," he added. He really didn't he didn't think he had it in him to even put up a fight. If anything, Sam would start something but why would she? She moved on, she's happy now with Joey. Why would she give him any of her time? He peeked back up at Yugi, thinking of something to try and change the subject. "When did you make the cake?" he said the first thing that came to mind. Anything to procrastinate any thoughts of Sam. It was going to be hard enough going to this get together.

Akiko listened to Rebecca's story about her dueling, but she only really focused in when she mentioned Yugi. "H-how is he doing?" she asked instantly after Rebecca mentioned him. Her eyes widened for a second as she realized something, "Was the tournament... here? Or in Japan?" She had to know. If the tournament was in the States.... and he was willing to come to one here but not see her. No, she couldn't think that way! Afterall, he had no idea where she lived. But, Rebecca was able to find her, and he didn't? She really had to stop thinking like that, but she couldn't help it. She couldn't help but look sad now.She just wanted to be with Yugi, or at least see him or something.

[[haha, now I'm sick XP I feel icky! I got sick Friday, called out of work saturday but forced myself to go in Sunday. AND I had to go to class Monday because it was a lecture she said she wouldn't repeat (ceramics- about glazing). I wanted to die! X_x. Thankfully I don't have anything until Thursday night.]]

[[I had something- I don't know. I'm feeling better now- started feeling better yesterday. But I felt shitty when I was sick. I just hope I didn't pass it to anyone. Yea, a lot of people at my college are sick too razz . I hate when the seasons change and this happens >.<]]

Atem nodded, figures it was while he was sleeping. They were there within no time. It was like those walks to the Kaiba manor- just like when Joey was going out with Sam at that time. Except now, he had no chance with her. He sighed when they approached the steps to the door. This was it, a day in the belly of hell for him. He felt his arms shake from nerves so he stuck them in his pocket. Time went absolutely slow as soon as Yugi knocked on the door. He shouldn't be here, what was he doing here? Maybe he would luck out and Sam wouldn't be here. That was unlikely. Would she still hate him? Would she not even care? Both were horrible conclusions. He couldn't do this, he had to leave. He shook his head and went to turn around, "I can't do this..."

"Well it's nice," he said thinking it nice she went out of her way to do that for this day. He kissed her forehead as he walked by. Their time together didn't last long, for there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it," he said walking out of the room and down stairs. Pharaoh was barking like crazy at the door, as all good dogs do. "Ok Pharaoh, I know, people are here," he said trying to get around the dog. He pulled him away from the door but right afterwards the dog would run up to the door and bark again. "I'd let you answer the door, but you don't have any thumbs," he said chuckling to himself. He finally was able to scoot the dog off to the side with his foot so he wouldn't run out the door when he opened it. Opening the door, he saw it was Yugi and Atem- as he expected. "Hey guys! Come on in!" he said happily.

Atem stopped when the door opened up and he saw Joey. Too late, he couldn't leave now. He turned back around to face him. He forced a small smile and nodded as if saying hello. He let Yugi go in first.

After a while, the pain started to come back. Was she not getting another does of epidural? She noticed the doctor and nurses moving about. "What's happening?" she asked confused. The doctor was checking how much she had dialated. "Ma 'am, you are now fulling going into labor," the doctor said as the nurses prepared various things. Ishizu froze for a second. Now? She looked over at a nurse and said, "Go get Seto, now!" She didn't want to be alone during this. "Why does it hurt?" she asked breathing heavy a bit. "We can't have you on medicine during, you have to feel yourself push," he said. "Oh damn it," she said putting her head back. Ishizu barely ever cursed unless she was angry or upset. And now also when she was in a lot of pain.

Akiko sighed very slightly. At least she didn't have to worry if he chose not to find her or not- afterall it was in Japan. She blinked a few times when she said he was 'cheerful'. Cheerful as in his normal self? Cheerful as in happy he's single? She couldn't stop this flood of irrational thoughts as she spoke. She went on to mention that it didn't seem like Yugi. Was Akiko so out of touch with him that she couldn't even read him? Rebecca could but she couldn't? What was wrong with her? Was he faking it? Was he really upset? That didn't make her feel any better cause that just meant she really hurt him! She didn't say anything until Rebecca mentioned about her visiting. "No...." she said shaking her head. "He doesn't want to see me. I really hurt him when I moved here. That's why he looked upset." She then looked at her funny when Rebecca said it was her lucky day. She knew Yugi wouldn't go out with Rebecca- she's still a kid. But..... did she have to joke like that now? But she focused at the matter at hand. "Rebecca, I don't know," she said sadly, "I don't think he wants anything to do with me anymore. And I...." she stopped cause she felt choked up. She tried not to cry in front of her, she held back as well as she could, "I miss him....."

Atem walked in, keeping still and using his eyes to scout around the house. He saw Sam, but only for an instant since his attention drew to Pharaoh. The pup, not even a pup anymore, the dog excitedly jumped around him and on him. Atem was pushed back and almost knocked over. Wow did this dog grow! "Hey boy," he whispered to the dog petting him. He missed him too, he was almost like their child that he hadn't seen in ages. He looked up to see Sam. He tried to keep his composure- he couldn't look as pathetic as he felt. She looked fantastic, she hadn't changed. He had to also keep from ogling at her. The first thing he noticed was that she looked agitated at him. This is what he was worried about, what he feared. He didn't even say anything to her, he destracted himself by looking around their new house. Pharaoh followed him happily.

Joey smiled when they came in. "Thanks buddy!" he said. "Oh hey, here, I'll get this," he said taking the cake from Yugi's hands since he was holding a lot. "Come on, I'll show you the house," he called out to Yugi as he put the cake on the counter. He looked at it, "Did you make this?" he asked, "It looks really good!" He looked over to see Pharaoh behaving and following Atem, "Hey, looks like he likes you a lot," he said then mumbled, "to bad the dog does nothing but bite me." He sweatdropped a bit when he thought about that one time.

Atem was preoccupying himself with looking around the house when he heard what Joey said about the dog. "He should, I bought him," he said. Of course the dog liked him, he was there since he was a puppy.

Ishizu was already trying to push by the time Seto got back to the room. She gave one last push before the doctor said stopped. The doctor looked up and said, "No, not yet." He looked back at Ishizu and said, "Ok, now just relax."

Ishizu was gripping the side bar when she stopped. "Why won't this baby come out?!" she said sounding exhausted. She looked over at Seto who just walked in. When he took her hand she let go and pointed at him, "This is YOUR FAULT! You did this to me!!!!!" She was in way too much pain to be thinking clearly, not to mention, her emotional state was crazed. Everything from fear to anger mixed within her.

Akiko kept her head down as she spoke. She was right, she wouldn't know until she called. But how could she now? After a year? She couldn't just.... call him up. What would she say about the year that had passed? Sorry? Sorry wouldn't cut it. She couldn't stop picturing him upset and crushed because of her. What has she done? Akiko felt like crying right there and then. She abandoned him, she was just like her father. She didn't even know what to say to Rebecca. She knew she was only trying to convince her to do something, but that was because Rebecca was still a kid. Akiko figured she didn't understand how severe the situation was. However, she didn't have to say anything, her mother came out of the house that second. "Akiko?" she said in a confused and slightly irritated tone. Akiko looked up and saw her face. She had a feeling what she was going to say. Her mother had gotten a call from her therapist telling her what happened. And frankly, she wasn't happy. She looked at Rebecca, "Who's this?" she asked not as irritated as before. "Akiko, I need to talk to you, inside," she said irritated again.
Akiko looked up at her slightly scared and slightly apathetic.

Atem couldn't help but grit his teeth a bit. He wasn't sure if anyone saw, but he didn't care. How dare she. He looked to his side to see her pass him- giving him that hateful glare. However, he didn't return a glare, he stared at her with apathy and displeasure. Sure, it was still a dirty look, but it wasn't filled with challenge or fight. He turned his glance back in front of him. He heard Sam say that the dog was protective of her but he didn't look over until he heard the dogs foot steps walk away from him. Curious, he looked over to see the dog infront of Sam hugging Joey. Pharaoh started barking at Joey. He couldn't believe this was happening, not only did it seem that she hated him still, but know he has to watch her hold and cuddle Joey. He just watched almost stunned looking. The only thing he could hope for was that he was still sleeping and that he would wake up soon.

Joey scratched the back of his head and said to Yugi, "Heh heh, yea your right." Sam then came up to him and hugged him. "Hey you," he said hugging her back. Then, Pharaoh started barking at him. It should have been expected, but he was hoping Pharaoh would be distracted by their company. "No! No! Stop that!" he tried to command the dog but only made him bark more, almost growling. Finally, Sam let go of him and the dog stopped. "D-don't tell him good boy! He's barking at me!" he said almost in a comical matter though he was being serious.

"Maybe the dog just doesn't like you Joey," Atem said finally coming to and finding the only way to cope with this situation was to insult him. He couldn't break down and show how weak he was, he had to try and be strong. He had to try to keep himself up, and the only way to do that was to bring either one of them down.

"Ha ha, ow, geez," he said thinking it was just a joke. "Perhaps, I dunno, the dogs definitely got something against me," he chuckled a bit.

She grabbed his hand and pushed like he and the doctor told her to while she screeched. When she was told to relax she put her head back and breathed deeply. "Ok, ok, I changed my mind! The baby doesn't have to come out now," Ishizu try pleading even though she knew it wasn't possible.

"No Mrs. Kaiba, the baby has to come out now," the doctor replied. "Push again," he said. She sat back up and pushed again. She shook her head and screeched again. "Just a little bit more," the doctor said.

Akiko looked back at Rebecca one last time and waved slightly. She was in no position to think logically at this point- now-a-days at that. She closed the door behind her and looked at her mother.

"I got a phone call from your therapist," she said sternly. "He said you freaked out and walked out," she added.

"He's a quack...." Akiko murmured as she looked away from her mother.

"Akiko! This man is trying to help you," she yelled. Her mother put her hand on her forehead, "You'll have to go back tomorrow and pick up your new perscription," she said wishing she wouldn't have to.

Akiko snarled a little. These medicines were supposed to make her feel better but they made her feel worse. They made her feel sick and paranoid. She walked past her mother to her room, she didn't want to talk about it anymore.
