Richard laughed a little, at her need to clean something all the time. He found it adorable if not a little worrisome he hoped somehow, someway, he could maybe get her to relax a little.
Raquel's face turned a bright red. She had never been told that before, and honestly had trouble seeing how any of it were true...but if Damian said it...it must be right?
Though some of her old values started bubbling back up, the ones that told her love didn't exist...well if it didn't, then what was she feeling right now? She waited a moment before hugging her knees. "There are many like me in the city....if not better..." She rested her chin on her knees, sighing. "I'm not as great as you project me Damian..." She frowned, turning her head to look at him with a nonchalant gaze.

Lorey gave him a final kiss before backing away just a bit.
"You should relax for a change. Running away from everything all the time... you need a day off, Richard." Once more, she motioned to his mug, before downing everything in hers. A talent she had was eating and drinking very, very quickly without getting sick.
There it is again, he thought. That stupid insecurity she built up around herself because she felt worthless.
"What can I do to have you believe me?" he asked, taking his hand to cup her face. "What can I do to make you believe everything I see when I look at you?"
It was an honest, desperate question that he had been searching for the answer to for awhile, but had never found.

Richard laughed at that. A day off? he hadn't even heard that word in years it seemed. Though a little 'vacation' seemed like a wonderful idea. "Well maybe I'll get a chance to relax when we stop in Altru..." He winked, already picturing Lorey and him walking hand in hand along the beach. First things first...He'd have to get her a bathing suit. A thought that made him blush unconsciously.
Raquel smirked ever so slightly, closing her eyes and taking his hand from her face, holding it gently as she turned it over as if studying it with her fingertips. "And what can I do to help you see how dangerous I am for you? I thought you'd be fine on a business level...you wouldn't get hurt too bad, but I should have seen it coming...Damian I'm not good for you..." She said softly, pressing her cheek against the top of his hand.

"I think you will if you make the time for it," she said, already polishing up the counter until it shined. Every time he winked, she laughed. She loved it.
"What's there, anyhow? Beaches? You know, I never learned how to swim..." There were a lot of things she never learned, because there was no time. Swimming scared her anyhow... but maybe if Richard was there, it wouldn't be so bad.
"Stop saying that." Damian watched her with mild fear. "We are all dangerous. We are all... evil, in some way. Do you know what I've done, what sort of people are after me? Being off-planet is the best thing that could have happened right now. Raquel..."
But there seemed nothing more to say. Neither of them were capable of convincing the other.

Richard smiled. "Well we'll fix that." He said with a cocky grin and a stretch as he looked at the near by window. "We should be there pretty soon...a day or so at the most..." He noted, taking his coffee graciously.
Raquel sighed, realizing that they were getting no where as well. She scooted so that she was essentially on top of him, and rested her head on his shoulder. She said nothing because she didn't want to ruin the mood any more than she already had. She just wanted to enjoy him holding her for a bit longer.

Lorey looked up at Richard with frightened eyes. "You're not going to throw me in are you? I've never been to a beach, so I don't know how deep the water is, and I've heard of people learning how to swim by being chucked right in and they nearly drowned..."
It was almost comical the way she prattled on about such a little worry compared to everything they had to deal with, but to Lorey, the idea was scary. And who knew what lived in that water...
He held her. He breathed calmly and rhythmically as they held each other in the silence, not knowing how else to make this all better. There weren't any words, and not even any kisses. Just closed eyes and breathing and warmth.

Richard laughed and bright her into his arms again. She was just too adorable. "No never!" he laughed, hugging her gently. "I'll let you make your own slow steady progress...Its really easy though I promise...You'll love the beach..." He smiled at her, feeling like this was vacation instead of a place to hide.
Raquel had her head turned towards his neck. She lifted her hand and traced a line from under his chin, down his neck and past his adams apple. She loved how his skin felt. it seemed to fascinate her that a single human being could make her feel this way.

"Good..." And soon enough, she found herself laughing along with him in a giant hug. "Do we have sunscreen? Because not only do I not know how to swim, but I burn, not tan."
Her fingers took a strand of her hair and tugged it so he could see. "Curse of the white hair. The rest of me is doomed to be pale, too." Really, the only bit of color on her was her eyes, and her pinked cheeks. Albino wasn't the right away to describe her... just very, very pale.
Her touch made him shiver just a tiny bit, but other than that, he didn't move from where they were.
It fascinated him, too, how someone could find him so wonderful and truly see him at the same time. Maybe it was the same for her... that wonder at knowing you were enough by simply being.

Richard smiled and shook his head. "You worry too much...I promise I'll have everything taken care of just for you alright?" He smiled, closing his eyes as he leaned back against the wall, still holding her tightly.
Raquel's fingertips made it past his clavicle and more to his chest which was still bare. He was pale, much like her, but in a stunning way that made her blush. Her hand stopped right at his heart where she kept it. She wanted to feel his heart pulsate rhythmically as he held her. She wasn't sure why. It just seemed right...

It was true. She did worry too much. Lorey worried about every little detail, but it was her nature.
"Worry about yourself, too, Richard," she told him. But in the oddest moment, she noticed something... they were hugging so tightly, but it didn't make her wrists hurt. Was that soda pop feeling in her bones the final healing process?
Adjusting herself in his arms, Lorey squeezed at her wrists, and lo and behold, they did not hurt.
"Could you... could you help me get these off?" she asked, not having enough fingers free to get the metal clamps to budge on her own.
Damian's heart was pumping fast. She just had that effect upon him, no matter how hard he tried to make it stop.
"It's yours," he muttered, holding her hand right over the beating within him.

Richard looked down at them, glad to hear she was getting better. He nodded, carefully helping her remove the bandages and braces. "Are you sure they're ok?" He asked, a bit worried now himself.
Raquel's breathing seemed to stop short before becoming sharp, irregular little attempts to catch her breath. She looked up at him, her hand still over his heart. She just looked at him, seemingly in awe. Her eyes started to water a little before she looked away, not wanting him to see her cry. "I-i'll...I'll do my best to take care of it..." She said barely above a whisper, though giving him an ever so small but innocent smile.

Rough hands inspected every inch of skin surrounding her wrists and lower hands... And though the skin was tender, and she would have to be careful, they were alright.
"Yes," she said. "Still all rough, but there they are, good as new..." Lorey gave him a smile and a kiss, as a thank-you for his help.
He always made her cry...
"Come here." And without her permission, Damian wrapped his arms around her until it seemed she was enveloped in his embrace. "You are beautiful. You are wonderful. You are brave, and strong, and can take care of yourself. You are Raquel, and I love you. But there is one thing that I must ask you to do..."
There was a little bit of silence. "You must empty out all the tears you have, to make room for the happiness."

Richard smiled, glad that she had use of her hands again. "I missed those lovelies..." He said softly, kissing her hands gently. He looked into her deep blue eyes and just seemed to get lost, like he always did looking at her.
At his voice, Raquel felt her hard barrier that dammed up her tears over the years slowly start to crack. She tried to laugh and glance up at him. "All of them? We don't have that much time..." she chuckled to herself as one or two tears escaped. Though after a moment more of just being in his arms, she broke down. a few more tears fell, followed by more, and more. She didn't want to cry. She hated crying. But it was all she could seem to do.

The lovelies he missed cupped his cheeks. She had missed it, too, getting to feel the slight bristles on his face along with the softness of his skin.
"You don't mind that they're so... worn out?" One more insecurity she had weighing on her was how they occasionally cracked and bled from the years with cleaning chemicals. They weren't lovely to her at all, just burdensome and ugly.
"I know I have all the time in the worlds." Which he did. And if he didn't, by Heaven, he would make the time. Feeling her tears drip down his bare skin brought every bit of sorrow she had right through his pores and into his heart. Her sorrow was his. A few tears of his own escaped every now and then, but it was nothing compared to what he was witnessing.

"it just shows how hard you've worked....they're still beautiful to me..." he said sweetly, holding them carefully in his big hands.
*short lol*
Raquel wanted to put her arms around him as tightly as he was holding her, but her tears kept her from doing so. She ended up just having her head in her hands, sinking into him, and crying her eyes out. "Damn it all....Damn these tears...Damn this girl...damn all it straight to hell..." she whispered to herself as her shoulders shook a little.
