Aras smiled warmly and the soft stroke became a gentle scratch, her fingers working their way through the layers of his hair and getting right down to his scalp, moving back and forth massagingly over his skin.

"Good morning," she murmured softly - and then she yawned, and her hand left Rhea's head to cover her mouth instead.

Rhea nuzzled down enjoying the working hand of his training partner. It felt so good. He moaned softly in happiness and moved as she moved her hand to lick her cheek. "Morning...Arrras"

He smiled laying now half atop her. He could smell breakfast cooking now and he nuzzled her chin. "Anis...breakfast..." he said

Kanis had indeed just finished making breakfast for everyone and was letting it cool a bit as she cleaned up her bed area and started to put things away. She was tired and a bit stiff but she knew that would be worked out.

Aras giggled and let her arm rest on Rhea's head, almost like she was hugging him.

"It smells good, whatever she's making," she grinned, trying to sit up a bit. "I bet she learned a lot from Ruque over the weekend. He said he was going to teach her some of what he was learning."

She peered over at her sister's fire. "Think she'll share? Though I guess I should probably learn how to make my own food ..."

But the smell of Kanis's food was just so good ...

As if in answer to Aras' question Kanis walked over with a leaf full of food. "Breakfast...we might want to eat and be ready before Corrah shows up" she said softly then moved over towards Ruran's bed to wake him up and give him a leaf of breakfast.

It might have smelt good, but it was alright at best in the taste category. Kanis was one of many talents but master of none. She would always be just a step behind in everything, and never good in anything. And though she did not know it yet she was already getting use to that place in life.

Rhea giggled and nods, "Anis share..." he smiled and shifted off of Aras sniffing at the food before sneaking over to Kanis' fire to look for a plate for himself.

Ruran was awake when Kanis came to him and he smirked his warp mind enjoying the fact that Kanis seemed to know her place as a woman....to serve the man. He knew he liked this sister of his. He sat up shirtless and took the food without thanks and started to eat.

Aras was a little surprised when Kanis offered her the food without her even asking, but she was glad. She knew she was no good at cooking - heating something up, sure, but making something that smelled this good? Never.

"Thanks!" she said brightly as Kanis moved off again. She started eating right away, and though she knew it wasn't as good as their mother or even Ruque would have made, it was still better than anything she herself could have made. And she was grateful to her sister for it.

She frowned when she saw the way Ruran was acting. He was being rude ... again. But the last thing she wanted to do, especially this early in the morning, was start a fight. If Kanis was insulted, she could take care of it herself.

Kanis walked back over to her own fire to see Rhea looking for food. "There is one for you too...Rhea..." she motioned to the leaf the wolf was already eating off of.

She sat down and ate her own little leaf of food before putting out her fire and moving to sit and wait for Corrah. She wondered what they would be learning this day.

Rhea smiled and taking the corners of the leaf in his mouth moved back over to sit next to Aras his tail wagging as he ate. He was enjoying his pack members even if he already had his favorites.

He smiled into the woods at Corrah knowing that the alpha was near enough to this little group of pups.

Aras finished her food quickly, keeping an eye on the forest around them, watching for either Corrah or Armus to appear. She thought it was a little strange, that at their first meeting she and Kanis had spent the night with Armus, but now Armus was nowhere to be found ... they had hardly seen her at all the day before. She couldn't help but wonder if they would see more of her today.

Once she had eaten, she brushed her hair out, fixed her ponytail, and moved to sit with Kanis.

"What do you think we'll be doing today?" she asked her sister, glancing over at Ruran to see what he was doing.

Rhea hurried to finish his food as Aras moved over to Kanis. He then padded over to sit next to Aras looking at Kanis.

Kanis shrugs, "I don't know. Maybe running and endurance some more...I think it is still too soon to start working with even practice weapons." she said quietly. It was her nature to be gentle.

"Maybe we will learn to swim and train that way...for swimming works the entire body at once...but I am sure we will find out when we are all ready."

Ruran started to dress and stretched. Man he was getting use to sleeping outside, even after only two nights. This time he had a blanket and his dragon there was no trouble with it, unlike with the cave under the water fall.

Aras leaned against Reah a bit, looking at her sister thoughtfully.

"That's true," she admitted. "And learning to swim is important ... Daddy's a good swimmer, and I think Mommy is ... I think ..."

To be honest, she didn't know for sure. Their parents had never taken them swimming, after all ...

Kanis laughed warmly, "I am sure they both are good swimmers...and yes one should always learn to swim."

Ruran walked over and smirked, "Oh believe me they are very good swimmers...though dad has a spell that lets him breath underwater." he said. He had snuck off and watched their parent's in the water before. "I don't think mother has what it takes to learn the spell...unlike us she can't use the simplest of magic....not like we can...it flows in our veins thanks to father."

Aras didn't like the condescending tone Ruran was using, but she had to admit ... he was right. Their mother didn't seem to use any magic at all, while their father ...

"I'm sure Mommy could learn if she wanted to," she pointed out loyally, though in truth she wasn't quite sure if she believed her own words. "But yeah ... Daddy's magic is strong."

Or maybe he just used it more often.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 13, 2008 1:44 pm

Ruran rasied a brow, "No she could never learn, if you don't have the magic spark you can never learn it no matter how you try. She knows it...even healing magic...she can only heal the old fashion long way...not with arts and magic."

He smirked, "The only thing mother has given us was tainted blood and dragons." He rolled his eyes and walked into the caverns to put his sleep things away.

Kanis listened and knew that Ruran was right. They were half breeds...but that did not make them less strong. And even if their mother could not use magic or anything like that she was still strong. And she knew Ruran hated her for that.

"Yes dad's magic is strong and so will yours be Aras...maybe you can try to teach Rhea some of it." she said trying to change the subject.

Rhea felt Aras' body change a bit and he nuzzled her shoulder

Aras glowered at Ruran as he walked away, and folded her arms across her chest.

"Know-it-all," she frowned at him. "Notice, though, he sleeps with his dragon at night, and he seems to like that at least. He can't say Mommy didn't give him anything he likes."

She raised one eyebrow at Kanis. "You really think I'll have strong magic?" she asked curiously. "I don't even know what kind of magic I want to learn ..."

She reached up to stroke Rhea's hair automatically, her focus still on Kanis. "What kind of magic do you want to learn someday?" she asked curiously.

Kanis flushed, "I...well I never really thought of what type of magic i would try to learn...I kinda thought it would just hit me one day...or that I might just really need it and then just like that the magic would tell me what I will learn." she laughed and then looked down at the fact of how boldly she had spoken.

"And yes I think you will to well just like dad in magic as well as fighting."

Rhea smiled as Aras' hand worked at his hair. He loved that she already responded so nicely to him.

Aras wasn't at all put off by Kanis's indecision; on the contrary, she just smiled.

"Yeah ... I know what you mean," she nodded, her hand still stroking Rhea's hair. "I really don't know what I would learn ... I mean, I think it would be fun to know how to breathe underwater like Daddy ... but ... I think it would be neat to learn something completely new, too. I just don't know what. Something useful though."
