You are so caught up in looking up a word in the dictionary that you don't realize you're looking in the wrong side of the dictionary. (i.e. you're looking up an English word to see what the German word is, and you're looking on the German side. ) domokun
You see a word in your native tongue, pronounce it with the pronunciation of the language you're studying, and wonder what it means. domokun

Proudly_Jewish ...you dream in a foreign language. O.O I did that last night... kind of. In my dream I had a phone call, and the person on the other line was speaking 'Swedish'. Strangest thing is, I only know a few words in Swedish, so those were the words that were used in my dream - and the rest was French/gibberish. o.O The accent wasn't even right until the person started talking in English. o.O

I tend to dream in the language I speak; Frenglanese. I don't usually pay attention to that stuff, because the content in my dreams are generally extremely odd. In my most recent dream that I remember, I walked into the kitchen and none other than Napoleon Bonaparte climbed out of my oven.

You see a word in your native tongue, pronounce it with the pronunciation of the language you're studying, and wonder what it means. domokun I do both of those...It's not uncommon at all for me to completely forget which word I was looking for, because I get caught up in the dictionary (once, for 3 hours straight). Also, I run around transliterating everything anyone says into Japanese pronunciation, or should I say "Aruso, ai ron araondo toransuritoretingu eburishingu eniwan sezu intu Japaniisu." I know, fellow Japanese speakers, that the 'ti' and 'tu' sounds do not exist in the kana, but it does have the potential to accomodate them.

Eh, I once had a dream where someone turned into an anteater and started singing in Hungarian...but considering that I don't know a word of Hungarian, I doubt its accuracy. xd
