"You should have woken me up," Val growled, glaring at the pilot as she stocked up on weapons.
The pilot, however, wasn't backing down. "With all due respect, Sir, the last three times I woke you up for something I deemed important, you threatened to chuck me out the air lock." Val had nothing to say to that; it had been several days since her energy and her supply of professionalism had run out. The pilot continued. "I realize it's protocol to go down and check the damage, but the tracking signal--"
"No buts," she replied firmly, checking the safety on her plasma rifle. "It's protocol. You don't need me anyway. Inform headquarters of the changes, go after him, and blow out his engines. If you need any strategic assistance, contact headquarters."
The pilot nodded. "I'll drop you off."
"Decent of you," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
*~*
Val approached the crash, her already light footsteps muffled almost completely by the powdery snow, which was good. The pilot appeared to be either unconscious or dead. After a slight pause, she leaned down and slipped her laser cutter out of her boot, then straightened. Slowly, carefully , she began cutting through the seal around the cockpit.

"Damn it! These stupid things don't work properlly on the warm blooded, he needs medical aid."
Koudo wanted to resist putting anymore doses of medical shots into McKnight, he might go into a over dose induced coma or death. Koudo didn't keep any medical supplies for the warm blooded and had no lcue where medical supplies were on the Halberd. He had no choice, if he wanted McKnight to recover properlly, he needed aid from someone else. Koudo activated his com and went on the public frequency. His com wasn't made for planetary communication, it would have to be somewhere in the region.
"Koudo Gonhor calling for medical aid to this location, I don't have any medical supplies suited for the current sitaution. Someone out there, I need a transport, I repeat, need a transport."
Koudo would repeat his message several more times, he wasn't taking the risk of McKnight being totally well from his medical shots. In fact, they mgiht have even hurt him more, Koudo couldn't tell.

Okay, are you listening? Grass grows, Birds fly,Fokkusu started to come to. He blinked several times before realizing where he was. He looked to his right and spotted a girl cutting through his cockpit. "What the **** are you doing to the ship?" He did not shout due to the massive headache. He slowly undid his seat belt and opened up the cockpit. "Who the hell are you and why should I care?" He said getting up and out of the cockpit. He was extremely mad due to the crash and the loss of the relic. It was a bad day for StarWing indeed.

Jack knew he was the closest to Koudo and McKnight, so in reluctance he landed the fighter nearby and with a few short commands into the on-board computer he called in the cruiser out of the atmosphere. The huge ship stayed about twelve feet above the ground as the bay doors opened and dropped to the ground, creating a large ramp for entry as he landed the fighter inside. He walked down the ramp and said "This enough of a transport for ya?"

She didn't answer right away, just calmly put her cutter away in one of her vest pockets. If he wasn't injured, he wasn't her problem. On the other hand, getting to be a top operative for the Cornerian government had been enough to teach her how to deal with men. Men didn't like it when little girls walked away from them without answering their questions; it made them feel unimportant, which they usually were, but her job was usually made easier by keeping them reasonable.
So, after several long seconds, she answered, at least partially. "I was trying to get you out for possible medical attention. There was no other way to gain access to the cockpit from the outside. I apologize for the damage to your ship." As she spoke, she looked the ship over. She was honestly amazed that he was yelling at her for something as trivial as cutting through the air-tight seal when the front of his ship was as banged up as it was. It wasn't going to fly, anyway, so what did it matter if it would leak atmosphere?

Okay, are you listening? Grass grows, Birds fly,Fokkusu opened his mouth to speak but he did not. An injury he received in the crash started to catch up with him. It was his left ankle. He quickly ignored it thinking its not as important as his ship. To him, it, was. Fokkusu inspected his ship instead of picking up the conversation. It was incredibly smashed up indeed. Mainly the nose of the craft and the nose weapon. He shook his head and closed the cockpit. Fokkusu slowly walked around the ship. "Watch." He said lifting up a small panel near the wing. There was a small red button on the inside that said, 'Emergency release.' He pressed the button and the cockpit popped open. "Well, the ship is not going to fly. Tell me, can you transport this wreck back to Corneria?"

Val was embarrassed. No, actually, she was beyond embarrassed. Emergency release? God, what was her problem? Oh, right; she'd gotten little more than 5 hours of sleep on this entire week long mission. It took all her remaining self-control not to take it out on the obviously banged up crash victim, which was not a good sign. "Eventually," she said, emphasizing the word by settling down onto the snowy ground. As she did so, she relaxed slightly; nothing could make her feel better quite like cold. "My pilot was needed elsewhere, but another ship should be by to pick me up tomorrow." What was this all about, anyway? He wanted a ride? Didn't he have wing-mates for this sort of thing? Whatever. She didn't care enough to ask.
