She sat there sighing finally who was she kidding, he was too self absorbed to even care or even notice her. Shaking her mane slightly she decided that he wouldn't even notice if she walked away right now. She found a nice warm patch of grass bathing in the sun before flopping down sulking she could see the stallion that was so self absorbed in the distance. She sat her head down upon her hooves and watched the stream trickle by her. She was so confused, was this that love feeling she had heard so much about? And if it was well he sure couldn't feel it could he?

Seeing her walk off and laying down he decides to follow. First off there was sun and he'd dry off faster and two he didn't want to be left alone. He looks at her questioningly noticing she hadn't noticed him walking over yet and without a word he decides to lay down right next to her laying his head over her neck so that she could still see the stream without having to see him.

Not realizing that he had even come over to her she felt a slightly pressure on her neck. She didn't resist it, or even move really he felt nice and warm and it was a nice feeling, softly sighing she said in the same soft whisper,
"Will...would you stay and protect me if I needed you...or...wanted you..."
Her voice trailing off as she watched the stream lazily.

He started to doze off just a little from the warmth of the sun and the feeling of Lucinda being so nice and comfy. He almost didn't catch what she had said. He woke from his slight daze and spoke just as quietly as she had, "I will be with and protect you for as long as you want me to be near you.", and with that he drifted off into a quiet afternoon nap.

She smiled softly as she heard his answer, well maybe he did care about her...or something like that. Hearing him drift to sleep she closed her eyes the nice day wouldn't last long but still after all the arguments of the day the stress of everything just finally crashed down upon her and at least he was going to be there to protect her if anything were to harm her...she hoped.
A small chill ran down her spine, as she looked up slightly, it was dark and the sounds of the day had faded. As she quickly moved to get up, not remember that the stallion she had met earlier was using her as a pillow she felt him fall the the cool grass. Wincing she had hoped he wouldn't be in a foul mood when he awoke, it was bad enough that she could anger him so easily let alone it being dark and having him angry. He could have mean friends she thought to herself as she looked at him

Yawning a bit and looking a lil dazed from the way he was awoken. "Were you uncomfortable?", he looks around after saying this seeing that it was dark. "Why would you awak at night? I normally sleep during the nights. Though never this close to the water." He stands up and starts to stretch. "Do you want to go somewhere else? I'd really hate to fall into that evil stream... I've had enough water on me as it is." he started smiling noticing that he was fully dry, "I don't want to be wet again anytime soon."

Letting out a sigh of relief he wasn't mad. Hearing him speak she giggled softly.
"No...I just I got a sudden chill...I"
Looking intently at him she finally said softly,
"...what if I always wanted you around?"
Ready to splash him with water should the events that were so fresh in her mind were only a dream.

He smacks his lips a little wanting something to eat for he hadn't eaten all day he looked around a little then back to her, "Then I guess I will always be there. I don't go back on what I say." He walks a short distance to a tree in hopes of something juicey to eat there but sees nothing and decides to lay down again.

Watching him she finally said,
"well good...because I think that perhaps...well maybe..I'd like for you to always be around...well...unless some other mare would rather have you around...I mean...I wouldn't..."
she stumbled all over her words until she finally gave up trying to say anything there was no point in telling him how she felt seeing as how he wouldn't understand anyhow. Walking over to him she said softly,
"I had a wonderful day...and well I'm sorry I woke you up...if you'd like to go back to sleep...I could always just leave you be..."

"I'll be around until you tell me to go. Do I have to tell you that often? You are the only mare I have promised this to and unless I am told to go then you will be the only mare I will make the promise to unless you want another mare to be around you." He yawns and starts to put his head down to go back to sleep then looks back at her, "Are you going to stand there and stare at me or are you going to come down here and join me? I can't exactly watch over you with my eyes closed can I?"

She smiled softly as she took her place beside him. Well that would probably be the closest thing to him being sweet as she would probably get, and she was going to take it. At least she could lie to herself and say that it meant he liked her, even if it was just a friendly gesture. Snuggling up next to him she sighed happily,
"Well...I suppose I shouldn't really ask but...are you still that resilent to tell me your name since we're..."
yawning softly she drifted off to sleep without finishing her sentence.

He smiled as she lay down beside him. He lifted his head to place it atop hers and stopped for a moment with his mouth near her ear and whispered to her, "Dirt", then he laid his head down on hers and passed out for the rest of the night not budging at any sound.

The warm rays of the sun dancing across her back woke Lucinda up. As she looked about slowly she tried very hard to get up with out disturbing the stallion she had met the night before. Managing to get away from him just slightly she quietly found her way to the other side of the stream. Something she knew he wouldn't dare cross and looked up at the trees.
"I know he must be hungry...if only I could reach some of these branches when he wakes up he could eat something. Since he was so nice to me last night.."
She could hear a faint noise in her mind, it sounded like his voice and he was saying his name. Unfortunately for her she didn't hear it completely before snapping a branch with a few ripe apples off. Making her way back over to him and setting the apples down in front of him she looked about wondering what today held for her.

He peered at her slightly cracking his eyes open because he wasn't fully awake yet. "You do realise had you woken up making some kinda noise it woulda been more natural than you trying not to make a sound. When you are on the ground you can still hear what is going on." He was about to start grumbling about it until a sent reached his nose. His eyes suddenly popped open and looked around. "Where were these yesterday? I don't remember these being here otherwise I woulda had something in my stomach last night. These kinds of things just don't randomly appear. Are they poisonous?" He sniffed at the apples too wary to eat them since he had no knowledge of where they came from.

Feeling slightly hurt at his question
"Do...you think I would poision you?"
Whining from where she was standing she shook her head getting slightly angered.
"Well fine be that way, I'll just take it away if you think I would kill you"
Splashing through the water she grabbed another branch full of apples, and laid down to munch on them. Grumbling about how much she lothed that stallion.
