Seraphina gasped slightly as she felt the warmth of his lips against her but she found herself giving in, for once, closing her eyes and letting go. For a moment she could have sworn the earth moved beneath their hooves. "Did you do that?" she whispered leaning against his chest.

He held her up, not letting her go for a moment. A grin crept into his face. "We both did that." He murmured placing a smaller, gentler kiss on her mouth.

"Nu-uh," Seraphina shook her head laughing softly. "I don't do freaky stuff like that, remember? That was all you." What is this feeling? she wondered still resting against him. Safe and warm...and something more...

slowly... he reminded himself. So he just smiled. "Alright...so I'm doing it." If she wanted him to bury into mountains to find the rarest stone he would...He'd even move the stars for her..

"Because you've never asked about me, let alone shown interest. You were too busy pushing me away and flirting with others." He said it gently, shifting his weight before sitting down, taking her with him.

"Hey!" she squeaked as she felt herself being pulled to the ground. "Man, I just got myself back on my feet," she muttered shifting to rest her head on his shoulder. "And it was my nature, is my nature. I need to be free to be me. And I wanted romance, passion so much that I could taste it...but then mom left, and I never really had a chance. I mean, my failure with Lance was the closest to romance I've ever been. What's wrong with me?"

Dimitri grinned. "Don't mean to sound like such a male, but you've always had a male to be interested in you so nothing is wrong with you. And you didn't have to take on your herd by yourself you know."

Seraphina glanced sideways at him, noticing for the first time just how handsome he really was. Why didn't I see it before? she wondered fleetingly even as she shook her head. "What else could I have done? You've seen my family. My father's not around very much and even if he was, it's always been my mother's judgment that's guided us. And in her absence we couldn't count on Sirena, not with her having the children and all..."

"It's not their place," Seraphina said firmly. "It's my mother's herd, in her absence it is my herd. I would not trust their safety and well being to anyone else. It is true, I wish my mother would not have left as she did..."

He nuzzled her. "Even your mother needs a break and Jareth's not alone in helping with the herd. He has Elric and a few others to help him. What about the water bender in your herd?"
