Akemi was startled by the expression in Kyle's face. And his eyes. She stared at him confusedly, a bit scared, until she was back on her feet.
It wasn't until she realized what was happening to him that she jumped back into action. Her heart froze--she hadn't known it would be that tough, and before she knew it, she was frantically slashing at the thing's arms, desperately hoping to relax its grip.
Akemi was deathly scared. No one had ever been this close before... She happened to glance at Kyle once, but his face frightened her even more than it had before, and she locked her eyes on her target.

The beast released Kyle to go for her, but once it let go, Kyle drove his key blade in its face, killing it. He looked at Akemi. "Thank you. you saved my life... I'm in your debt," he said, bowing.

Akemi gasped, and stood watching the beast disappear.
When it was finally gone, she was her normal self again. "You're kidding, right?" she said. "I hardly did anything. Just some random slashing. What would you expect me to do? Just stand back and laugh?"
This was a funny kid, she decided. She liked him. And she was glad to know he wasn't going to be a nuisance.
"Anyway, I would've probably died if you hadn't helped out. So we're even. It's called teamwork. Got it?" She smiled, letting him know she wasn't really being derogatory.
"Okay!" she yelled to everyone. "That's enough for that! We're heading out! Got it?" And with that Akemi marched off, not bothering to see who was following.

Kyle smiled and followed her. She was one of the only people he knew. And he was glad he knew her now. But he still felt something was following him, even after Dark Thorn was gone. But he soon forgot about that and only thought about Akemi. "I'll protect you with my life," he said.

Akemi sobered completely. "Don't say that if you don't know for sure. Especially since you just met me." All traces of a smile had left her face.

"i mean what I say... You really are one of the only people I know... You are my first friend that I know about. And I want to protect you... I would die in order to save your life," he said. He then suddenly remembered about his memories that were coming back one by one. He forgot about them when Akemi was almost smashed. He could now only think about protecting her. His heart was not beating fast. He had no questions about anything now.

Akemi felt uncomfortable. She'd never had any declaration of such devotion, and she wasn't sure quite what to say.
Finally she decided on, "Look, I'd rather not anyone die. So don't be too quick to jump to it. Who's to say my life is worth any more than yours, anyway?"
She looked down at her feet uncomfortably as they reached her house. When she started to recognize their cozy little home, Akemi smiled. She headed inside and ran all over the house, searching.

Vanyel looked around quickly, his head jerking to and fro as he looked for the treacherous fighter, but only darkness was to be found. Swearing violently he swung his blade in large arcs, hoping to his something, anything, then he was lost in dreams as he passed out right in the dark room where he appeared, the psychotic rage left was gone, and it had left him physically and mentally drained as a consequence. Where am I? What am I doing here? These were the things that raced through his dreams as he prayed for someone to find him and relieve the insurmountable darkness that was all around him.

Kyle just waited outside for her to return. That's when he had another memory. It was continued from the one where the world was being destroyed. Someone had charged at him as if to stop him from something. That's when Kyle pulled out his key blade and stabbed him in the chest.
He opened his eyes and looked around. A NeoShadow was standing behind him. It picked up a metal pole lying on the ground and drove it through Kyle's shoulder. Kyle yelled in pain, took out his key blade and stabbed the NeoShadow. He then pulled out the pole from his shoulder, blood coming out. this was perfect. But being as he forgot almost his whole life, he didn't know a simple Cure spell.

"Aha!" Akemi gasped triumphantly. She'd found it, in the backyard: a little path half-hidden in the rather redundant sandbox that they hadn't played in in years. And it led to a whole, totally huge gummi garage!
Wow...I just never thought about it, did I? I loved the stories but never thought about what happened to good old Highwind.
She noticed no one was with her anymore. Akemi shrugged and headed back out to the front of the house.
She froze in the front door at the sight of Kyle, her mouth gaping open. Quickly she cast a Cure spell, which she was proud to say was worthy of being called Cura now. "What happened?" she demanded to know.

The wound healed, but he still felt horrible. "I was attacked. I'm fine," he said. Now, more and more was coming back to him. He destroyed his own world. He killed what could have been millions of people. But he had to keep it to himself. He wanted to make sure his friends would stay with him.

then he looked down
and saw Akemi with this guy

He looked at Ski and sighed. "we should go quickly, before more come," He said. He limped to the door. "Well? Anyone coming?"

Akemi frowned deeply. She really didn't like this.
"No more splitting up, guys, you hear? Wherever one goes, everyone else follows," she declared. "Now come on, I think I know how we can get off of this heap of junk."
She led them through the house, down the path to Highwind. After they were all situated in their seats, she sat in the driver's seat.
"I really hope I know how to work this thing..." she murmured to herself. But there was also the question of where they would go when they got off Destiny Islands.
Akemi didn't want to think about that now. They'd get to it when the problem glared them in the face. For now, it was takeoff time.
"Ready, guys?" she called, gripping the joystick-like drivey thingy tightly.

Kyle followed and sat in the passenger's seat. "I'm ready at anytime... But I think you should get some rest," he said. He was trying to be kind. He didn't want anyone to be mad at him. He looked at her and smiled. But now where was he going? What new place?
