Foxtrot hadnt paid much attention to her stop, so all was well. He wrinkled his nose against the Thunderpath, and peeked out of the grass to look acroos the boder. Stale ThunderClan scent wafted to him, and he pulled back.
"Other than that Thunderpath, nuthin."

"I guess we can relax then," Spottedheart said, stretching out her limbs.
Should she voice what she was thinking about before? She had nothing else to say...
"Hey, uh... What do you think about kits?"

Foxtrot flicked his tail before looking back at his mate.
"Kits?...You mean...s?" He mewed, his eyes growing winde, but they were soft and affectionate and a smile spread slowly onto his face.
"I think...I think...that one day, whether far off or in the near mfuture, I'd love to have a family with you."

Spottedheart was relieved. She might not have realized it then, but she wanted kits.
"You don't think kits'll be annoying?"
She was smiling and her eyes were affectionate too.

"Huh, if they were, we'd soon straighten them out. A deputy dosnt want his children to behave that way, now would he? Driving the warriors mad, that wouldnt acceptable, now would it?" Foxtrot laughed shaking his head.

"That's right we would!" Spottedheart agreed, clawing a leaf to demonstrate. "With us as their parents, they'd be perfect kits!"
She laughed, feeling really happy to be with Foxtrot. Then she remembered that they were supposed to be on patrol.
"Shouldn't we renew the scent markings?"

"We wouldnt claw them, but we'd sure give them some stuff to think about. Right, lets get to it then," Foxtrot mewed, nodding, then renewing a nearby scent marker.

Spottedheart went a little down the border and renewed another scent marker.
"Fine, we wouldn't claw them." This time she hit a leaf with her claws sheathed.
She took another moment to check for ThunderClan scent. Was something there?

Should they find any ThunderClan cats?))

Foxtrot shuckled.
"It would be a little mean to do that to kits. Leave that to battles..." He left off, gazing across the road, his ears flickeing and tail lashing. Someone was over there watching them...

Spottedheart checked for scent again, this time picking up ThunderClan cats over the rancid smell of the Thunderpath. Her tail lashed as she gazed across the path, trying to see if she could find them.
Cloudtail paused by the border.
"I smell ShadowClan fleabags..." he muttered to the other two that were with him.

Hawkleaf sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes. Ugg...he hated ShadowClan enough already.
"What shall we do?" He whispered quietly to Cloudtail.
Foxtrot flicked his ears again hearing slight movement and muttering.
"You ThunderClan cats barge through the forest so loudly, I wouldnt be surprised if you were starving," Foxtrot called contemptuously across the border.

"Ugh, and you sure do smell, too," Spottedheart added. "Why is it that I can smell you furballs over the Thunderpath?"
She didn't really know any of the ThunderClan cats on the other side, but it didn't matter anyway.
"We should just continue our patrol," Frostpaw mewed to Cloudtail. "No need to cause a fight."
But Cloudtail didn't listen. He just flung more insults across the border.
"At least we have nice plump mice instead of mangy rats! Half the time you guys get attacked by your own prey!"

Foxtrot laughed at this.
"ShadowClan cats avoid rats for they carry disease half the time. We know how to avoid them. You wouldnt last three seconds if you encounter them. Our cats know how to deal with them. And plump mice? Yuck! Who needs those when you havea nice snake or frog?"
Hawkleaf's hackles rose, but he knew Frostpaw was right.
"Cloudtail, we should leave these mangy cats and get on with the border patrol..."

"Disgusting," Cloudtail spat at the sound of snakes and frogs.
His fur was all fluffed up, but Hawkleaf and Frostpaw were right. Of course those ShadowClan cats wouldn't think of crossing the border, so continuing the patrol was more important than almost causing a fight.
With a final hiss, Cloudtail ran to get away from those mangy cats and get on with the patrol.
"That's right, run you little fleabags!" Spottedheart yelled as she saw them start to leave.
Then she turned to Foxtrot and laughed. "No one messes with us!"

Foxtrot too was laughing.
"Not only are be the best fighters, we can out insult anyone when we put our minds to it!" He smile at Spottedheart. "I dont think they'll be coming back for more, so we can be on our way, I believe."
