Our show this year is called Skylines, depicting the big city skyline during morning, noon, and night.
The music is pretty cool. It's really in-your-face during the Opener.
The Ballad is jazzy and pretty cool. Sax and Trumpet have solos.
The Closer is pretty cool. It reminds me of something you would play for a Superhero's theme song. lolz
It isn't as great as our show last year, but it's cool.

Okeydokey then, they're trying to keep it a secret from us, even though we already have the opener... xd
Well, the opener is called the Arabian Waltz. It's awesome, because saxophones have a cool part. cool We just got the second part yesterday, and I'm not sure what it's called...I've heard them calling it "The Ballad" and "The Un-Ballad" ( xd ), so I have no idea.
So, I guess it's Arabian themed, but I'm not sure.

New Begginings.
We heard a clip, and it sounds pretty cool, pretty epic. Kind of triumphant, I guess. I haven't the slightest how it'll compare with last year's in terms of my music, 'cause I march bass drum. But last year was good; we had a drum solo. mrgreen

We're doing "It's A Jungle Out There" "Morning Commute" "Contemplation" and "Night Life" but I won't be playing my flute with everyone else.. I'm in color guard. biggrin

The plan for this coming year is to do a sort of classic rock show. The opener will be Mr. Roboto by the Styx. the middle tune will be House of the rising sun by the Animals, and the closer will by Frankenstein by edgar winters group.
However, our band director is leaving us and we will be getting another director next year (the fourth one I've had in four years). it's up to him or her if we will still do the show.
Personally, I wanted to arrange a J/K rock show, but my director wouldn't let me arrange the songs because of copyrights and stuff. maybe the new director will? who knows. (If you guys know J or K rock, some of the songs I was considering were: Vanilla by Gackt (xD) and Yuuyami suicide by Pierrot. I think I wanted to to a Trax song too, but couldn't decide which.)

We're doing the Planets. I haven't heard it yet, but we have a rehearsal Thursday. Everyone's been telling me that it's an amazing show. I hope it is.

That will be an amazing show! Marching to mars will be tricky though, it's in five! I wonder how the arrangemeants for those will be? Sounds super fun though. Holst is amazing. How many of the planets are you playing? Which of the seven?

We're doing the Vitruvian Man.
We had our first rehearsal yesterday and it sucked. But thats because we were sight reading it. It's going to be pretty cool if we play it right.

It's pretty cool. My part isn't too hard. The only person in my section who can play it already is the section leader. But it's my first year on Mello. [I used to play trumpet in marching band, but I play french horn in class.]T O T A L L Y R O C K S M Y W O R L D !

Brand new band director this year. He's pretty cool though. But he is planning on doing Indiana Jones because of the new movie that came out.
darn it...I WANTED TO DO MICHEAL JACKSON!!!

we have been "modernizing" our band for the last 3 years, this years show has music from Sweeney Tod, and of course more high level drill to go with it
