Our cheerleaders don't hate us, we don't hate them either. We learn their cheers too, and some like to do them when the director says it's ok. We have 2 short pieces that we play to 2 of their cheers, and our Alma Mater is played when they do the salute (whatever it's called) to the football players at the end of the game. And then there's the fight song that they have a cheer/dance thing to as well.
Sometimes they call out "We love you band", and then we usually respond too. It's the dance team that our director hates. haha. He holds grudges really well. The dance team used to be our colorguard, like who knows how long ago, 10 years ago? They ditched us back then, and our director supposedly got really annoyed and pissed off at that. And so now they're banned from football games, they're only allowed to perform at Homecoming. haha. Our director wields more power than the dance team coach, and so he somehow made it so that they can't perform at football games. Pretty sad actually, but amusing to find how he can STILL hold that grudge.

Our cheerleaders actually seem to really like the band this year. One of them IS in band, on flute - I used to think she was kind of snobby but she's actually pretty nice. The cheerleaders came in to the lower band at the beginning of the year to teach some of the cheers to the freshmen, which was awesome.
And during one of the football games, they did this cheer where they say, "Let me see your -" and then they call something out and you pretend to be whatever they say. Well, at one point they said band geek and pretended to play instruments, which was awesome. XD And then later, one of the cheerleaders was sitting with us at lunch (she's friends with a couple of my friends) and she was like, "You guys weren't horribly offended when we called you band geeks, were you? We felt bad afterwards and thought it might have offended you. But that is what you call yourselves, right? Band geeks?" and we all laughed and told her that we had thought it was the coolest thing ever, and she felt better after that.
So yeah, we actually get along with the cheerleaders. Probably because they can always count on us to cheer along with them. It's the choir we have problems with. XD

gandalf7863 Im wondering why cheerleaders hate the band I mean we never done anything to them but why do they hate us. just cause were not atheltic and wear tight and play foot ball we are still cool in our own way. mrgreen Hope you like Our cheerleaders like our band, they come over to us during the games and dance to our stands music it's funny though because they have a fight song cheer/dance they're supposed to do whenever we play the fight song (which is whenever we score it gets annoying especially my freshman year when we were undeafeated) but anyways sometimes we tend to get a little ansy during the fight song and play it super fast (one time our drum major couldnt even conduct to it) and it's hilarious watching them getting mixed up and confused because we're not playing it slow enough lol

They don't like us because they share our bus to games and stuff, and we're horrible. We're loud, and obnoxious, and make fun of them. Well, I don't do the last one, but...still. ^_^;;;
Even that's only some of them. I get along with a few of the cheerleaders, and so do a bunch of other band kids. I don't know, I guess it depends more on the person.

Cause we don't comply to there request for songs so they can cheer, we will randomly start playing a song or do something without telling them so they have no idea what is going on and look like idiots, we take up valuable stand and halftime space and time and cause we confuse the crap out of them when they ask for Go Big Blue.
Other then that I really don't know.

We don't have Cheerleaders but we do have a danceline and flaggettes.
The flaggettes are band nerds enhancing the band by throwing a flag around during our parades, Homecoming, Spirt Week Rally, but they go all out with the band for incoming. We have roughly 20-25 songs and they got something to go along with us as we play so we keep them informed because they are so cool looking with our music.
The danceline however, is...well, to put it bluntly, crap. They only know two and a half songs. They don't do parades but they were formed about seven years ago and finally were able to get a spot in the line-up for everything else. They don't practice or anything during their practices for hours, they are all complete idiots with no common sense, the whole lot of them. They hate the band, we don't know why, but we leave little hints we don't like them that much either by a farting noises coming out of nowhere as they take the floor. They make no effort to join forces with the band so they look like idiots on the field doing nothing while we play.

We have this thing where we say "___ shake your booty" and the band always makes the cheer leaders do it at the foot ball games because they have to or else there coach will get mad. Not like they don't do it to us but we don't mind doing it like they do

Well its kinda vice versa if you think about it. Cheerleaders hate Band and band hates cheerleaders(at least most of my band does, including me)

Actually, our cheerleaders are okay (especially considering that we make fun of them.) For us, it's the football players that are annoying.

Our cheerleaders like us because we can do the Alligator Chant (our favorite) so loudly. We are backup... What they can't shout loud, we can shout uber!

I didn't really think that cheerleaders hated the band, lol. The cheerleaders at my school all fight in front of who gets to stand in front of the band, because we're the only part of the crowd that will do the cheers with them. XD
