Not exactly.. This is about attackers assailing prepared defences, not an ad-hoc defence from a wreckage.
edit.
Unless the wreckage is fortified and has weapon systems on-line to aid in its defence. ninja

Lt. Brookman True, there is a distinct line between the attacker and defender but as my spiffy " review" of the book shows, it makes for a fun new type of battle when all rules and whatnots come into play. I wouldn't call it a complete step back though, as the rules and stratagems add a good flavour to the game. You'll laugh like mad when you dump the debris of a spaceship onto the enemy. Oh believe me, I don't mean it in a bad way. I definitely preferred the larger variety of scenarios in 3rd edition, so when I said a step back, I meant a step back into one of the better parts of the hobby lost in later editions.

Planetstrike does bring more missions to the game, something we were starved for when forced to live off a diet of 5th edition rulebook missions only. Sure, there's CoD but we don't really have any ruined buildings handy. sweatdrop

We're still waiting for our building kits to arrive but we've already started working on our lists. It's going to be a big battle of the Imperium versus Orks and heretics, about 5k per side. I'm with the attackers and we've created a special stratagem for my Thunderbolt: bunkerbuster! Instead of regular bombs my bird has two massive bunkerbusters designed to crack open bastions and other fortifications, for gaming purposes it's just like the Bastion-breacher shell fired by the Medusa.

That's half the fun of playing in a club, once you get to know each other you can take the game into unique directions without too much hassle or trouble. They know how much I want to use that Thunderbolt all the time so they made up something to please everybody. whee

We had a massive Planet strike game last week, we used six Bastions, two of those were converted Fortresses, miles of Aegis walls, and four packs of Booby Traps and craters. For every 5" of Aegis we had Booby Traps/Mines, were were in a corner, so we didn't have to cover every angle. The Fortresses were amazing, their missiles destroying a Chaos Warhound along with the help of a Basilisk battery. The mines and tank traps blocked off and helped us survive the mass Chaos rhino/Land raider rush. Pity that the Chaos won, only due to Angron popping up with three Blood Thirsters, and our Shadow Sword and Baneblade been destroyed by two Meteorstrikes, a chaos Baneblade, and two Terminator squads. Planet Strike, is Brilliant.

Coming at the end of November, this kit! You can find a better picture of it in your Planet Strike book, but yes! It has been confirmed for the end of November by several stockists as popping up on the list with upcoming GW releases.

A yes, the Dark Angels Fortress Bunker, I'm assuming you got it off Warseer? xd I really want one, there's alot of things I could use that tower for. What I'm really looking forward to are those seated Elysians though, I could make a neat little diorama with them! Shame the plastic Tallarn turned out to be just test sculps, so much for my Dune Theme'd Army..

Heavens no, I peruse Dakka Dakka, not gitseer. DD is the place to go for the good rumours, as we got Brimstone and RedS8 there who have their reliable sources. Plus the threads don't hurt as much. sweatdrop

I tend to use both, Warseer for pictures and Dakka Dakka for concrete information xd After all, I got this little gem on Warseer: It annoys me how every thread on DD turns into a thread about Dark Eldar though, but that doesn't happen that often anyway.

I really wish they'd make a Cadian one, Elysians are nice but I can't use it for Cadian Dioramas stare ...
Some Tallarn wouldn't be bad either, everytime I order from Forgeworld I spam their suggestion box with TALLARN INFANTRY xd
And it's nice to see you Brookman, after all these years I figured alot of the old mods would be gone.

My Cadian days are over, it's all Elysian for me now. Plus a fleet of Valkyries backed by Vultures work wonderful in Planet Strike.
As for sticking around: Eh, I've been a horrible p***k. sweatdrop
