Becca glanced between the three girls, stepping to the side slightly so that if anyone else should run in, she wouldn't be trampled.
"Yeah, I'm new here. What's your name?" she said, extending her hand then jerking it back quickly.
"Er, I shouldn't shake hands," she said opting instead to wave. "You live here for a while?"

"Victoria," she said, in a very clear tone to Becca, the girl she had just had the pleasure of running into. The dark haired teen had just pulled a glove off her right hand, so to meet Becca's extended one, only for it to be pulled away before the motion was complete. Raising an eyebrow at this, Victoria said nothing and simply slipped her glove back on before letting her arms fall by her sides.
"Ah, I see," nodded Victoria as Becca gave an explanation as to why the handshake had fallen through. Since she had been known to hang around people like Rouge, Victoria soon drew up her own conclusions about Becca and her issues with handshakes, none of which needed to be verified at the moment.
"And yes, I have lived here for a bit," she continued and frowned a bit as she tried to decide on a date. She half-glanced at Sara and Rouge, but soon realized that neither of them were around when she first made an appearance. "Since...about May of last year, I believe. Just before school let out."

Blade blinked in surprise before tilting her head to the side. "You know where I want to go? You're . . . like me?" The Moore asked in a hushed tone.

Rogue followed Victoria and Sara inside as they headed towards the garage. She stomped her feet on the doormat as she passed so she'd track less snow, and then ran to catch up.
Rogue arrived just in time to catch Victoria and Becca's near collision. She waited for Victoria to finish before saying hello. Rogue noted the handshake exchange with particular interest. Apparently she wasn't the only one whose powers kept her from shaking hands.
"Welcome to the mansion." she said to Becca, her southern drawl apparent as always. "I'm Rogue. I've been here the last couple of years."

Laura was just finishing up her shower when the house shook. She growled and smacked the water faucet to the off position, silently cursing Lance's early morning rages. They were responsible for most of the minor damages to the walls and ceilings, and she was more than fed up with having to rearrange her room every time something upset him.
She stepped out of the shower and quickly dried off. She wanted to find out what was upsetting him and stop it, before things got too out of hand. She pulled on her clothes, which included a pair of jeans she'd bought since she'd taken up residence with the Brotherhood, and left the bathroom.
She stopped by her room on her way to Lance's to check for damage. While reassuring herself that everything was still OK, she realized she hadn't combed out her hair. She snatched a brush, ran it through her hair a couple of times, decided it would do, and flung the brush on her bed as she walked out the door.
Laura marched down the hall, still fuming, and doing her best to calm down. There hadn't been any damage to her room this time, and the quake had been on the small side, so the house should be alright as well. However, she had asked him repeatedly, not to mention nicely, to save the ground moving for outside, and wasn't pleased that he'd ignored her once again. It was about time she showed that boy that she wasn't someone he could ignore. But first, she'd find out why he'd done what he had. It wouldn't do to thrash a house-mate for ignoring her only to find out that he'd had reason to so in the first place.
She pulled up short when she found that his door was still shut. She snarled, and refrained from breaking it down. Instead she took a deep breath, knocked and said, "Lance. It's Laura. What is it this time?"

Shandra looked at her with a little skeptical. She wasn't sure she should say anything if the girl didn't automatically know. The world wasn't as kind as some would want but still...there was something in the girls voice. A frailty that Shandra felt herself.
"I guess..." she started, "Put it this way, I live at the mansion and fit in requirement wise..."

Blade smiled, understanding the girl's worry. "If it's the right mansion, then we're both similar." Suddenly, Blade realized something. "Oh! I never got to introduce myself. I'm Blade Moore." The young woman stuck her hand out for the other to shake it.

Staring at her through the window, Lance simply watched Valerie, and her water imp through the window, knowing she could not see him back. Save for his little outburst, he was not doing anything as he watched her, but heavily debated. All it would take was one, quick jolt of the ground beneath her to make her twitch, would he considered nowhere near enough of a payback for all the annoyance she had caused him.
Unfortunately, just as the thought floated through his head, the blond disappeared from the lawn, meaning someone had let her inside. Knowing it would not be long before she skipped up to bother him, the teen debated his options as a knock came at the door.
"What do ya think, claw-girl?" he shouted over the still blaring stereo, glancing at the window at the same time. "The blond is back!"

Becca folded her hands behind her back, smiling as she learned the name of the dark haired girl before her. "Nice to meet you Victoria," she said quickly, eager to move the conversation forward. Luckily, Rogue spoke her introduction.
"Rogue," she said, hearing herself say the less than traditional name. "That's a neat name name, not heard it before. So do you guys like it here?"
A seemingly obvious answer, of course, otherwise they wouldn't live here. But it served as an opening to gain some information.

Following the end of a short but pleasant conversation between the kitchen dwelling females, there was as small, awkward silence as Becca made another inquiry. She seemed to be curious as to whether or not they liked living here, and as expected of a question this was from a new recruit, it threw Victoria for a bit of a loop. In the entire time she had loved here, she could not remember being asked this question. The answer she wanted to say was rather complicated, but she decided against voicing it. Scaring the new girl with her opinions seemed like a rather rude thing to do.
"Hmm, yeah," said Victoria with a simple shrug. "It's okay here."

"Yeah, things are pretty much the same around here. Lance is still perpetually grumpy, as you can tell, though I don't think your arrival has improved things much," Morgan replied, remembering the tremor earlier.
They'd already had to make a couple repairs because of Lance's little tantrums, and Laura wasn't the only one who was getting tired of it. After all, it was usually Morgan who had to clean up afterwards, because it seemed he was the only one with any sense of responsibility or discipline around here, other than Laura.
"Speaking of which..." he said, heading upstairs to remind Lance of one very important fact: That the next time the earthshaker had one of his temper tantrums, Morgan was going to extract an apology from Lance's hide.
"You felt Lance's tantrum, too, huh?" Morgan remarked, seeing Laura standing outside the earthshaker's door.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortly after Morgan headed out of the foyer, another member of the Brotherhood entered.
"Oh, hey water-girl!" David said, returning tfrom wherever he'd wandered off to earlier. Nobody was quite sure where he went when he was on one of his "wanderings", but everyone noticed that his ability to hide seemed to increase exponentially, which was the reason that nobody seemed to know where he went.
"You haven't been here in a while. Was your vacation good?" he asked, smiling cheerily at her.

Shandra stuck out her hand and shook, "I like to be called Eclipse."
When she withdrew her hand she looked around at the snow. It was probably really cold out here if someone stayed out for a long time. She could feel her skin chilled and she hadn't been out for too long so she knew that she should probably be heading back anyways.
"Well, ready to get back? You look kind of soaked," and it was true, the girl looked like she could use a good warm bath and some dry clothes.

Blade blinked once more before it dawned on her that it was probably a code name. "Hmm, well, I suppose you could also call me Smokescreen." The young mutant smiled before nodding. "Yes, I'd like that." In that moment, Blade's eyes were tired. Shaking her head quickly, Blade beamed at Eclipse. "So . . . which way?"

Shandra pointed to the direction she knew the mansion was located, "My real name is Shandra...I just...kind of don't match with the person I used to be. So what name would you liked to be called? Smokescreen or Blade?"

Okay, that red wire goes in this slot and the blue one goes... Conner's train of thought crashed. Conner was currently buried in the cockpit console of the Velocity attempting to piece all the electrical components that were strewn across the cockpit back into place correctly, the faults had been found and fixed and now he had to remember the schematics that were oh so helpfully folded on one of the passenger seats. He hauled himself out with a sigh of defeat and reached across for the plans and looked through it, finding the solution quickly he got back underneath and continued working, making sure he had the plans with him this time.
With the component he was fitting (missile guidance system) back into place he crawled out for the last few pieces and the controls and refitted them. He stood up and looked over the console, nothing seemed out of place. He sat down the pilot's seat and began a check up of the console, he couldn't full test the Velocity to see if he fixed the problem because he hadn't got his pilot license yet; something he was going to correct soon. Satisfied after a few minutes that the electrics wouldn't mess up he checked the job off his list and made a mental note to ask one of the licensed X-men to help with a shakedown run to check if the problem was completely fixed. He shut everything down and leaned back in the chair for a quick rest.
