Ug. I used to date this one really annoying guy who, when he found out that I love video games, decided to play Mario Party 4 with me. When we started to play, he felt that it was necessary to walk me through every mini-game, giving me "pointers", basically treating me like I was six years old. It was so obvious that he was going really easy on me in the mini-games.

When I was in first place and beating him in every single mini-game, though, he gradually started to go less and less easy on me. Eventually, he just skipped past the instructions screen entirely, but I kept beating him. I even beat his best time in one of the racing mini-games. He lost, got all insulted that he was beaten by a girl, and we broke up soon after.

The moral of this story, kiddies? Don't go easy on a gamer just because they're a girl. It's insulting. Why oh why can't I just meet a sane guy that likes video games and anime, and maybe, just maybe, Lord of the Rings? *pouts* sad

You've just been unlucky. We're out here. wink

On the other hand it's important to note that if you mercilessly thwomp someone too often in a row, that person, be they guy or girl, will likely not want to do that particular game with you again. Case in point, I will never ever play my friend one-on-one in Smash Melee ever again. I get tooled. In multibattles he has to distribute his attention and I (and the others) stand a chance. Going solo, forget it.

So my new moral, don't go easy unless you're sincerely afraid that by going all out anymore you're going to lose a competitor. And then, don't make it obvious. Easier said than done though, especially because if they've seen you at your best, they'll know you're not giving it to them anymore. So you'll be exchanging their frustration at losing for their frustration at being handled with kiddie gloves. It all depends on the person really, there can't ever really be one rule.

I completely agree with you! That's what I do normally. 3nodding I've gotten really good at being subtle about it since my mom runs a home daycare. The kids all know that I'm good, but they don't feel hopeless playing me. I've helped them all get better at games, and I'm proud to say that I've cured them all of button-mashing. xd I didn't hold back with my ex while we were playing Mario Party 4 because he was being a sexist a**, and not just that one time, either. xp

Ooh, back to the question, gamer girls just want a guy that they can have fun with, and share a few common interests. A guy that they can play games with on an equal level. 3nodding

Cool, that helps. BTW, does anyone know A good way to ask out A REALLY hot gamer chick? I mean, I know her, and have asked her before, I just thought someone might give me some pointers. And I would prefer that the ladies answer, as guys do not know mosty of the time anyway. Anyway, I just needed some advice on the subject.

Relkin9, why don't you try sitting next to her with a gaming magazine? Remark about some new game or something, and start up a conversation with her that way. It should work! 3nodding

Insomnia's not all it's cracked up to be actually xp . Staying up all night by choice to play games = Fine, no problem. Staying up all night because you physically cannot get to sleep and playing games to keep yourself from boredom = not so good. This seems like a prime example of "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it"

Agreed on all counts. It ius why I am always on. IT STINKS!!!

As for Nienna, I only get to see her when she is working, so that is A bit hard to do. As it stands, there are not even any chairs around where she works. What do you think of inviting her to the midnight premiere of Star Wars?

I think that a guy should be totally honest. A gamer chick isn't really that different from a normal girl. Just don't start getting on her nerves when you lose to her. When she losing to you...ya might wanna lower the boasting meter a bit. Last guy that did that got a black eye. Hm...you shouldn't be like those boys who ignores her most of the time and then the rest of the time calls her "baby" Oh and don't get an internet girlfriend! Get a girl from the real world! Not the digital world. I'm being perfectly honest.

Well, is not all of that common sense? As it stands, I see little reason to try and get A girlfreind off the net, as they are often as not, not girls.

I wouldn't say it impossible to find a girlfriend/boyfriend online but it's probally not easy. Going back to the aspect of Guys playing girls, an ex-boyfriend of mines likes to play girls when he plays mmorpgs because he'd rather stare at a female a** then male when he plays for hours on end...
Which in my opinion is a good point. female characters are usually btter to look at. Unless your playing horde on World of Warcraft...

blaugh blaugh blaugh blaugh True enough. As it stands though, I would much rather hang out with A chick and play her in Super Smash bros than go online and do an MMORPG. That is me though. mrgreen
