Kit had stayed clear of the entrance, he wanted so much for things to just go well, for everyone to get along but he knew he was of little use in making anything like that happen. Even if he was good with words, he knew so little of his own culture that he'd probably say the wrong thing anyway. So initially he tried lending a hand here and there where he could with the girls as they packed up. It was somewhat new to him as he and Azure traveled light. Between the sneaky stares that weren't sneaky enough and the girl-like giggling when he made some minor mistake, Kit eventually hung back and watched the whole thing. What good was rank if you lacked what your peers considered to be basic knowledge?

“I see.” Replied Yakira with a cool voice, her words rang softly through the cavern and it seemed that her ears wouldn’t stop ringing. She thought she got a glimpse of Kit, but she wouldn't bother him...she was already disliked plenty enough...and was slightly afraid of getting Kit angry or ruining his good place with the others. Remembering Iris' words Yakira's heart sunk and the harpy sighed as she slipped into one of the few openings in the snow and crawled through to the outside.
A breeze brushed past her lifting crimson strands of hair into the air as if inviting her up to fly. But Yakira shook her head slowly at the sky above her before starting to work on the outer wall of snow with some of the others.
Snow clung to her feathers and dampened her hair, but she ignored that as she tried her best to just focus on this task in front of her. Think…think Yakira! She silently pleaded with herself as she tried to think of something…of anything!

Unfortunately for Yakira, no amount of thinking was going to assist her in changing Iris's mind, and even if it would, there wasn't time to do it. As soon as there were even a few small harpy-sized holes, the rest of the snow was easily shoved out of the way and Iris was stepping through, stretching her brightly colored wings in the sunlight.
"Girls!" she called back into the cave. "Finish packing up your things. We'll be leaving as soon as Koda returns, and the sooner we're ready, the sooner you get your lunch back at the colony." At the sound of "lunch" the general pace seemed to quicken, and each of the girls hurried to pack up their things for fear of being the one to hold things up. No one wanted to be responsible for delaying mealtime.
And then she would move to Faria, ignoring Yakira completely. "Once we get back you can come with myself and Koda. We'll introduce you to the Matriarch, and she can decide what to do with you. With the word of myself, Koda, and Makani I'm fairly sure that she'll allow you to stay."

Faria shook the snow from her feathers as the rest of the snow was cleared from the entrance. She had helped a few of the girls inside pack their things, but she didn't have anything with her so her job was technically done. She was ready to go, but she'd feel bad if she were to just stand around with all the work going on.
The black and green harpy noticed Iris heading her way. She listened intently and nodded. "Alright. When we arrive, I'll follow after Koda and yourself. I hope things will work out." She gave a little smile and inclined her head as she continued. "Would you happen to know of anyone needing help carrying something? I don't have anything of my own and I'd like to help us get moving."

Kit made his way with the other girls and stopped by the passage entrance. Now seemed a good time, maybe Kira would fly with him and they could speak more. He felt sorry for her when he saw her, she must have helped cleared the snow and what clung to her had melted. He hoped she didn't freeze! "Need any help drying out?" Kit asked. When he had tried to help pack before he'd watched who had put what where. As one young girl went by he asked her to stop a moment and was grateful when she did so willingly. He wasn't certain if the cloths she'd been carrying were for sleeping or for drying, but surely they could be used for both. He trust it to Kira rather quickly, suddenly worried that someone more important than he would try to stop him... like Koda or Iris or even Makani. His feathers bristled some at the thought that she'd be denied a chance to dry off.

Kit’s voice interrupted Yakira’s thoughts and slowly she opened her eyes and blinked at the familiar figure. He had given her something…looking down in her claws, she saw the cloth. “Thank you, Kit.” She sincerely whispered before quickly drying her hair and feathers as good as she could. Surprisingly this small act of kindness made the white harpy feel some relief on the pressure that she’d been feeling ever since yesterday evening.
Silently she took another glance at Kit and slightly rose her eyebrows in question. Was there something he wanted? She understood that he liked to be kind, but something told her that he was thinking about something this time.

The silence went a nother moment before Kit recognized what Kira's expression meant. "Oh.. So... What was the verdict? Are you coming?" He figured he'd just get it out and done with. He wasn't certain which responce would make him happier, thinking of Azure he wondered if Kira would be willing to do him a favor.

Silence...and then a long sigh. Finally Yakira shook her head at him, "It seems that I've been a very troublesome harpy and I'm not allowed to follow." A short pause... "I was told not to follow to the colony last night, as soon as I landed...after you went inside of course."
She shrugged her wings, "I tried though...." Was there anything else she could do? Probably not... Still Yakira showed a faint definitely forced smile, "Is that all you wanted to know, Kit?"

He worried about being overheard. "Dry enough to go outside?" he asked casually. He led the way and then took a few steps off the beaten path where the females were gathering. He wasn't certain how much time he had so he wanted to be quick as possible. Once he thought they were far enough that he could speak freely, but close enough not to arouse too much suspicion - not that he'd really know what those distances were exactly in this bunch - he asked his question.
"I'm sorry you won't be going with us, but could I ask you a favor? Could you... take a message for me?" He didn't want Azure to worry, even though she likely already was. This was the best thing he could think of under the circumstances.

"A me-message?" Yakira tilted her head at him with an unreadible expression. She wasn't expecting him to say something like that..."What type of message and for whom?" She finally asked with another smile.
"After all I don't mind to help you, Kit." She held up a wing, "Just tell me where to fly and what to do and I'll do the best I can for ya." And she meant that with sincerity.

If Kit weren't so single-minded at the moment then he may have paused to consider Kira's eagerness with a small amount of embarrassment, but as it was he simply wanted to give her as much direction as possible so she wouldn't get lost and so Azure could stop worrying.
"Azure, the centaur who raised me, will be worried sick since I didn't return to our meeting place last night." Not that I could in that snow... which'll just make her worry all the more! He pointed out over the trees, indicating the direction he'd been coming from before meeting her and Iris. "There's a large, squatty tree there and a bit of a clearing around it. That's typically where I wait for her."
He paused for a moment and looked from Kira out to the distance with a thoughtful glance. He hoped he wasn't sending her into trouble... It was difficult to predict Azure at times. He looked back at Kira, his features earnest as he spoke even quicker. "She doesn't know there are more, just like I didn't. I don't know how she'll react. Just let her know I'm safe and will return. She'll probably have a lot of questions and it would mean a great deal if you could answer some of them. But you don't have to," he added quickly. She was bound to have plans of her own now that the colony had turned her away.
When that came to mind he gave a small sigh. "I'm sorry things didn't work out for you... I wish there was something I could have done..."

Iris nodded at Faria, offering the new harpy a smile. "As a matter of fact, I've a thing or two you can carry. A bag or two of berries that I was going to get one of the girls to help me with. You can carry them. They're a bit big you see, and I've other things to carry. It makes it hard to manage. I would be very glad if you'd take them off my claws for the flight." Gesturing over to the corner, Iris would indicate the pile of her things. "They're those first two brown baskets there." Then she glanced over to Kitrio, who was conversing with Yakira, and gave a small frown. Oh well. She couldn't exactly order them not to talk.
"Kitrio! Are you ready to go?" she called, raising her voice just loud enough for them to hear. "We're about to be on our way, and I'd hate for you to get lost."

Yakira nodded and listened to Kit, but on the inside her heart was racing. A centaur?! He wanted her to meet with the centaur he told her about yesterday? Automatically her mind refocused and paid careful attention to every detail of direction that he gave her.
"Hey!" Yakira whispered and gently patted Kit on the back with her wing. She couldn't let him leave while feeling bad."Just saying that you wished there was something you could've done is enough for me, Kit." She closed her eyes, "Thank you anyways...maybe one day things will change and I'll get that chance." She was more neutral about the whole deal now...yet the harpy truly regretted missing out on the chance to learn more about her own kind. Not that much though.
She opened her eyes slowly and sighed, "But I'll try my best to answer some of Azure's questions. I'm not really in a hurry for anything and have to rethink on some things as well." Like what to do now... She paused and heard Iris's voice, "I guess you're leaving then."
Not knowing what to say the harpy suddenly became silent and felt so awkward. Her stomach lurched and she finally seemd to understand that they were leaving...and with out her. But she'd been a loner for a long time now...so things would be fine, wouldn't they?

Kit was so relieved. He had a wide grin on his face as he thanked Yakira, "It really means a lot to me and I'll make it up to you in any way that I can," he said as he began moving back to the group. He gave her a cheerful wave, thinking that since he planned on going back to see Azure that he would also get a chance to see Kira again, depending on how long she hung around Azure.
Half way between the lone female and the group, Kit called back, "Yes, I'm ready!" He seemed much more light hearted than usual, perhaps worrying over Azure's worry - what a cycle - had made him less amiable than normal.

Upon returning Koda circled the camp site a few times, using the gliding time to mull over what she'd seen while scouting, and to watch the movements of the group below. She'd noted a few places on the mountain side which threated to avalanche if disturbed. Clear skies meant they wouldn't have to fly though rain or snow, but the air was still and cold... there would be no up drafts to ease flying. Despite this and the loads they carried,she hoped the girls would be able to make the return journey in one flight. Her biggest concern was the new male. He'd carry nothing, but his body didn't convey an image of strength... would be be able to keep pace with the rest of them?
She descended, landing slightly apart from the group, between them and home. "The weather's clear, but still and cold. The snow is thick and there are few safe places to land. This will not be an easy flight, but we have to try and make it without break. Make sure your loads are comfortable and manageable, you'll not be able to adjust them once we're in the air!" Koda took her own pack and tied it in place, allowing the other girls a few minutes for their own test flights and pack adjustments. As soon as the group was settled she called out the command to start the flight and took off into the air.
