In my opinion, the most dreadful-sounding languages are: Korean: all syallables are stressed, making whoever is sepaking sound like they're whining French: its nasaly Portuguese: Also pretty nasaly. and a bit slurred (but that depends on the person speaking it) Vietnamese: for some reason, i just find it annoying Sicilian: refer to my post here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7335357&page=lastHebrew & Arabic: beautiful languages, but the throaty sounds are a bit harsh on the ears. Russian: yikes Lao (spoken in Laos): its very choppy Dominican & Northern Argentine Spanish: I like the sound of Castillian Spanish, but i have to say, those 2 are the farthest things from Castillian Spanish. Patois (Jamaican creole language): sounds like a random slur of sylables and sounds.

Mandarin grinds on my ears. Just speaking it I feel like I'm talking with a cotton ball in my mouth. It's all the "sh" noises. =( Nevertheless, it's a beautiful language and to be surrounded by it, it would probably grow on you. ^_^ I also don't like how French sounds... but then again, I had bad experiences with that back in Year 6... my teacher didn't like me and I had no interest in learning it. =P

I think mostly any language where it sounds like people are yelling at each other are kind of icky. Like any forms of Chinese.

I'd say German (Due to my inability and therefore unwantingness to learn it + stupid teacher + it just doesn't sound that nice to my ears like some other languages do), Korean (I like it in some songs, but to hear people speak it, no thanks), Arabic (To me it just doesn't flow nicely). And that's about it. But I know there was a language I heard and I almost wet my pants because it just sounded so funny. But I was little. neutral

Roseflare I think mostly any language where it sounds like people are yelling at each other are kind of icky. Like any forms of Chinese. Haha ... the thing is, often that Chinese is being yelled. Maybe Chinese people just yell a lot. Mandarin sounds pretty nice when it's spoken demurely. It sounds way too harsh for me when someone is speaking Chinese really gutterally and enthusiastically/angrily.

Then again, I don't think I've ever heard people yelling in Mandarin... Also, I was staring at your avatar for a good fifteen seconds. It's nifty.

I'm not a big fan of English or German, myself (even though I grew up knowing english and I took classes in German) >_>; They just sound so...broken.
I like melodic languages (like the ones in Scandinavia) much better. xd
