*Bard laughs* There's nothing truly normal about Chicago. *he lets out a long satisfied misty breath*
But I do love it here. I liked New York. And I liked LA. I even liked Portland. But there's something about Chicago that none of those cities has.
*As they stroll along the outskirts of Grant Park, they spy a Horse and Buggy dressed in holiday barding, the driver in a Dickensian coat and tails with a top hat perched atop a mane of wavy brown hair. Bard stops to admire the horse for a moment*

*Maggie comes to a halt as he does, smiling in surprise as she sees the horse and buggy, and cannot help laughing a little* Oh, ye do still use horses here, after all!

Sometimes we do. *Bard smiles* It's something of a novelty for us. No one uses horses or carriages to travel, but we use ride them for fun.
*bends in and whispers* Shall we ask for a ride?

*He steps up to the driver*
Excuse me, could you give us a ride?
*The driver nods* "It's twenty for a ten minute ride."
*Bard reaches into his pocket and hands the man a small wad of money. The driver looks at the bill.*
"I can't break this..." *he begins*
Merry Christmas. Would you mind taking us to Marshall's?
"Marshalls? Sure." *the driver laughs* "In which state? Hop aboard!"
*Bard climbs into the buggy and offers a hand to Maggie.*

*Maggie watches their exchange thoughtfully, then smiles thankfully towards the driver as he tells them to hop on*
Marshalls? *she echoes, reaching up and grasping Bard's hand to help her climb up next to him*

It's a famous store here. I have a new idea. But we'll need some warmer clothes.
*The horse and buggy sets off at a brisk trot toward State Street. Jingle bells on the horse's harness chime merrily to the rhythm of the horse's hooves*

It's a surprise of course! But it's one that I think you'll enjoy...
Look up ahead.
*he points. Towering in the plaza ahead of them is a tremendous cone of lights and bauble strung up to look like an enormous Christmas tree. All around it lights twinkle and glitter. The city is alive with life and noise.*

*Maggie turns her gaze in the direction he's pointing, her eyes widening and an amazed smile spreading across her face as she finds herself once more completely awed by what she's seeing in this time* Ohhh . . . how beautiful!

*The buggy stops in front of Marshall Field's department store. The entrance is brightly lit with Christmas displays. Shoppers exit the store with bags and bundles of gifts. Bard hops out of the buggy and offers Maggie a hand down*

*She takes his hand to step down from the buggy, and then turns to thank the driver before looking back towards the deparment store, looking at all the various decorations*
*then she studies the lettering on the building, quietly reciting each letter to herself as she recognizes it* M . . . A . . . R . . . S . . H . . .

*As the buggy pulls away, Bard joins Maggie standing outside Marshall's. He hears her pronouncing each letter and smiles. He points at the sign.*
M-A-R. "Mar"... just like in "Margaret". S and H.. that's a "Sh" sound. A-L-L. is "All" ....
