Lucifer Lord of Torment Loonamist Well, that was my point : ) You were free to create the list as you wanted. i wanted help with the lists. not an opinion on whether it was a restriction or not. Im not gonna lie, Im kinda tired or seeing your snide comments. I apologize if I sound rude but Loon has told you multiple times that you can pick your own weight classes. If that set up is the way you want to go then so be it. There is no need to keep prying on it because you get to pick the categories you want. If you want to roll go with 1-10 for lightweight 1-20 for middleweight and 1-30 for heavyweight. Split it down the middle and if you roll higher than half assume you caught it. Please dont be rude with your comments. I know you might not mean them to be that way but again its just how it comes across. I dont like trying to play the middleman because Im not a mod or crew but stepping in when I see something like that is something I hate to do. Ive seen it all day and Loon has done nothing but try and be nice about it. Im just assuming this of course because I havent talked to her or any of the other mods about it but I just dont like seeing that kind of thing going down with people who are not only busy trying to help make the guild better but are also trying to help keep things in line. [quote="Loonamist] Loon Im sorry for jumping in and Im sure you dont need me to either. I just dont like you guys being yelled at sometimes

You guys only see snide and rude comments because of past arguments. If someone else had said that, it wouldn't have been seen as rude. Furthermore, don't create arguments where they don't exist. The only one here starting something is you. That was Lucifer's final comment on the topic, and he even figured out a system to use the dice. So, he's most likely done with this topic.

Jewel of Antares You guys only see snide and rude comments because of past arguments. If someone else had said that, it wouldn't have been seen as rude. Furthermore, don't create arguments where they don't exist. The only one here starting something is you. That was Lucifer's final comment on the topic, and he even figured out a system to use the dice. So, he's most likely done with this topic. I can say with 100% absolute certainty that is most definitely not the case for me. Regardless of whoever had sent that, I would have agreed that it read has snide. If it was Vigilia, my best friend for 10 years, I would tell her she was coming off rude. I've done it before. If it was a stranger, same thing. I would also like you to clarify what past arguments Kou has had with Luci that you are accusing him of being biased because of. Because otherwise, it suggests that you're admitting Lucifer has a history of being rude and disrespectful/snarky. I think we can all agree that whether something is 'rude' or not can depend on how you perceive it, but that's a two way street. Kou's not starting an argument-- he's defending me, because he felt like I was being attacked, if I understand his post right. And he even apologized if he sounded rude, which is something that you don't see in the posts he's referring to. He's making a request for a more polite tone. Which is... not at all starting an argument, it's actually a highlight of the whole point behind the 'Common Courtesy' rule, which is that when people post things that read like they're giving attitude, or are attacking/blaming/being rude to someone, it makes others defensive, not those just involved, and can sour the atmosphere of the ooc. We, the mods, have been trying to be lenient even when we feel disrespected, because we know that we could be being overly sensitive, and we don't want to be "politeness tyrants", but other people, like Kou, speaking up tells both parties, us, and those we're talking to, that it's not just us being defensive, it really is them coming off as offensive. Don't try and chastise someone for that input, especially when they use more 'common courtesy' than the person they're addressing. All they're asking is for a nicer response, and they're even being polite about doing so. Honest, but fairly polite. And not even in a sarcastic way.

It was rude. The purposeful use of italics on the word "help" implies sarcasm, and snark. And that's just the last post alone. If anything, the only reason anyone said anything about it was because Lucifer is, quite frankly, rude very often. This is a community, and if we all want to be a part of it we have to be willing to talk openly and amiably with one another. What Kou is pointing out is a problem that even I have seen, and just because Lucifer may have decided to finish the conversation doesn't mean it isn't something that should be addressed, because it will come up again if it isn't. Whether the constant rudeness is or isn't on purpose I, as a member of this community, want it to be addressed and stopped. This place was made to be free of all of that, to be a place where everyone could be friendly and enjoy themselves. And that isn't what I've been seeing. If you would like to continue this discussion please PM me, but this issue is between Lucifer and the mods so I will refrain from saying any more on it in the ooc.

kou :: actually, i wasn't being rude. like you, i was being honest. if the truth hurts, then it hurts.
loona :: i'm sorry my post came off as rude. but, it wasn't intended to be. it was literally the finalizing of that conversation. but, if your fight with cedric has told me anything, it's that you won't believe me when i say that. not that you're wrong. it is easy to type "it wasn't meant to be" statements. still, i'm sorry.
schism :: actually, italizing words has many purposes. sarcastic, yes, but also for emphasis. i was, and am, using it to emphasize what it is i was hoping for. and, i use it now to emphasize my point. and, yes. i am pissy often. not all my days are bad, though. but, i've been avoiding the chat on my bad days to prevent further arguments.
now, i will not respond to this further. your argument is your own. there was no rude or snide comment. it was how you saw it. so.... let's put an end to this before it escalades into something awful. please.

Not even of past arguments, I see alot of comments from alot of people I think are very rude. I just ignore them. Well at least till they get to the point where I think they need to be shut down. For him that time is now, if you cant clean up the way you talk something needs to change and it wont be a whole guild. Incase you think thats rude let me show you something rude while also showing you the difference between acceptable and rude: RUDE: That doesn't help me. What the hell am I going to do with that info. Acceptable: I still dont understand. Could you explain it differently please? That last part the "please" doesnt need to even be there but it makes you more likely to be in favor. I dont like being called out for standing up for my mods, we elected them there for a reason. Because we trust their better judgment. For you all I have to say is. I dont like your attitude either

I would like to propose something, because of all this, particularly towards Lucifer and Jewel.
If we have several members telling us that something is making them uncomfortable, and we ourselves are made uncomfortable (or feel disrespected/upset/etc), what are we supposed to do, as mods? Should we just tell them to all suck it up, and just assume that what was said was not meant as disrespectful, despite the fact that so many of us read it that way?
Because this has caused a lot of disturbances with a lot of people, and as mods, we're struggling to figure out a way to handle this kind of thing.
And by the way, Lucifer, I actually did talk with Albino, because he sent me a PM, and we came to an understanding on being honest about when we feel offended. Which is why I didn't say I was offended by your comment, btw-- just that I would agree that it read as snarky. Because that's how it reads, for me, but not necessarily how I'm taking it.
So please. I sincerely want some suggestions here, because honestly, we're at a loss what to do when so many of our members are frustrated at this behavior, but whenever anyone says anything about it, we're told we're misunderstanding, overly defensive, and "whatever, it's fine, I don't want to talk about it anymore".
On a side note:
Thank you for understanding our perspective some, Lucifer, and apologizing. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as offensive or aggressive here, but I really do want to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future, because it's literally what we made the guild to get away from, and it seems to just be a continuing and growing issue.
