Alright, I am now back at my dorm and thus within easy access of my computer!

So, looking through the forums, I noticed that there are a number of people who have a thread/guild for their continueing stories, links in their sigs to said stories, etc, and I thought maybe we could capatalize on this in the form of an ad sectioned called something like Local Writers, where people can pay us a small amount each month to include a link and small disciption of their on-going stories, or only pay us to include an announcement on those months when they update, etc.

Hey, I don't pay you till you pay me. xd

I like the idea, but I think we could capitalize a bit more and do a periodical section on local writers. We have some talented people around here like Hawthorne, Vieve, and poets like Maj. I think including interviews with these sorts of people would add some new depth to the mag and add a bit more to the community as well.

We can also sell advertising for stories (providing they don't compromise the integrity of the magazine... Aka, they meet certain literary standards).

I think it's a damn good idea though; especially given the community aspect.

ooh, I like the idea of a local artist spotlight of sorts, where we intreview them, maybe post their first chapter, or an excerp, or whatever.

If you did that, I'd say use and excerpt. The first chapter might be pretty long.

On another note, should I make the new submissions thread?

well, it depends on the story, really, but yeah, it would most likely be an excerpt from the first chapter, or whatever the author wants...

On another note, I need help from a crew member or someone's help. I want to remake the La Revue thread, and I was thinking the easiest way would be to have someone delete or rename the old thread, and let me create my own so I can go about organizing it and stuff. The other option is to simply clean up the old thread, but the downside to that would be I wouldn't be able to edit the main post/s. This is assuming I'd be more or less heading La Revue, which I'm happy to do but not sure if it's necessary or within my right. Anyway, comments or assistance would be appriciated. This may not even be necessary yet until we're sure we have some more reviewers on board.

Well, when I'm not half dead, I'd do that.

Say when, and someone can just delete it. Make sure you have everything you want to keep out of the thread.

Lilly: Yes, please. The submission thread is a little overdue.

Actually, I just did it. Click.

La Revue is renewed. And I have a plan for this need-to-be-crew problem, but it's risky.

Using thepress account. Or, if she would like to volunteer, Lillian could use the other Lilly (who has crew status, right? Or were they taken away?).

If we used thepress account, I would change the email to mine, so that I could keep track of the password and change it if something happens. Since thepress has crew powers, then the person using it has crew powers too.

But all the gold they earned would go to thepress, so if they wanted to earn the gold they are encourage to use their main account. Thepress would be for when they needed crew powers.

No, my other account no longer has crew status; I can only edit my own posts.

hmm, sounds good, but I'm a bit confussed...who are "they?" Just anyone who needs to edit a post or whatever, with permission?

They, I believe, would be whoever was using thepress account to edit a post, thread, or whatever else for which crew power is needed.
So, yes, basically.

ah, ok. sweatdrop

Edit: Oh, I've been thinking, it might be cool to add pictures of the movies/books/etc to the reviews, so people have the image of something to connect with the title...I know I personally rely more on the look of the movie then remembering the title, and I don't think it would too hard to impliment.

Edit2: ok, I used the picture idea on the most recent review I wrote, in my own personal thread, and I like how it looks. It doesn't need to be a requirement, but it seems like a nice bonus, and we could always have the picture link to the movie/book on amazon.com, or something. I also think I'm going to start including "related links" for reviews where such a thing could be useful.

Last I checked, Lilly, you were 11, right? But seeing as it's been a year, you should be 12 now. Correct? 3nodding

I turned 16 last November.

If everyone agrees that the mule thing is a good idea, I can send the password around by pm. Still, I was thinking of making another mule just for the money, to be careful. Then I'd check into the account occasionally to trade over whatever's been earned.

xp It's a bit confusing but Lilly and Rushifa really do need that crew status.

Correct. I turn thirteen on the twenty-seventh of May.

Why would you need another mule for the money? It's not like anyone would do anything with it, really. They couldn't trade it over to any other account because the Bank keeps a record. But go ahead and make a new account, if you wish.
Oh, and the submissions thread needs some updating.
