Riza knew she had quite a bit of time before Crenu would make it through Mount Moon so she took her time. She'd run into a hiker along the way and he challenged her to battle, but Selena had made very quick work of his Geodude. It was safe to say her Vine Whip was increasing in power and accuracy and Riza knew that the Snivy would be ready for the gym match with Brock. Aside from the hiker, Riza only encountered a few wild Pokemon along the way and she was more than happy to let Eris out to play with them. She couldn't stop thinking about what Mike had said about the Quilava being close to evolving, and she wondered just how long that would be.

The raven haired girl wasn't sure how far she should go, as she wasn't sure how long it would take for Shiro to get through that annoying cave. The thought of all those screeching Zubats made her shiver and after a while of walking she stopped and sat down atop a rock to wait. She'd let Eris out again, and now the Quilava was occupying herself by trying to pounce on Spearow that were stupid enough to land anywhere near her. 'I hope Shiro doesn't take too long,' Riza thought, laughing as she watched the fire-type chasing down yet another one of the mean spirited birds.

It was hard for Jasper not to smirk when he saw the tiny Pichu appear. He wasn't the most informed of trainers when it came to knowing about Pokemon, but he did know that Pichu was the pre-evolved form of Pikachu. He wasn't even surprised that the youngster would immediately go for the type advantage, but his poker face remained in tact, even as the cute little mouse started to try and Charm the trickster Zorua.

"Go ahead and use Leer right back," Jasper said, smirking a little, as Leer was a move common to both Croconaw and Zorua. Zorua, feeling a little less inclined to attack the little yellow mouse, tried her best to shake it off and she leaned forward, still disguised as the gator, her eyes took on a frightful red glow as she sent a terrible glare in the Pichu's direction.

"Excellent excellent, this will be fun." Ken grinned as he watched Jae start to use his TM on his strange flying pokemon. He'd never heard of a Sigilyph before and was so eager to train if nothing else just to see it fight. He could hardly tell its typing by its look, it could have been flying since it floated around so effortlessly. But so did Magnemite and Bronzong, even his Mismagius thanks to her ability. With Jae following Ken found himself taking them to the center with great haste, not even waiting to really get settled once it was before them. He spun around on his heels and quickly threw out his pokeball, calling out his oldest friend to help them out. Mismagius erupted from her pokeball with a ghostly moan, staring down the strange avienoid pokemon and its trainer. Mismagius recognized Jae right away, and droned out happily to see him. The last time she saw him a strong battle ensued, and she looked forward to another. But Ken had other ideas which he made known right away. "This is our new friend Mismagius. He's a relatively new trainer training for a gym battle. So we're gonna help, don't go too wild." Mismagius looked at Ken strangely, but he gave her a wink and she knew she had to roll with it. So she nodded and looked at the opponents waiting. "Whenever you're ready."

The sun felt rather nice to be honest. Eyes adjusted to the light now, Crenu continued down the route with Carmen. The Pidgey flew overhead and the Ratata scurried about. One darted right out in front of them, aparently looking for a fight. Crenu just needed to give Carmen a look and she waved her hand, pushing it back with her confusion, the weak little mouse taken out by the attack. Crenu sighed, such a waste of time. Carmen of course seemed to be feeling better, so he let her go and she weakly floated on her own for a bit before clinging over his shoulder again. Not because she needed the support, but because she liked it. Crenu just shook his head and kept walking, he didn't mind so much. How long had they been? He told Riza he'd be in Pewter as soon as he could but crossing the mountains took some time, he was hoping she hadn't been standing there waiting outside the gym or something. But before he could begin to plan his search for her in Pewter, he spotted a familiar head of jet black here sitting there on the side of the road. Crenu had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't seeing things again, but no matter what sitting on that rock was Riza, and her Quilava pouncing Spearow only cemented that reality. Crenu was able to calmly walk up to her rock, but that was where his control ended. Maybe it was because of what had just happened. Maybe because his mind was trying so hard to push her away before, maybe he just felt vulnerable, he didn't know. But he threw his arms around her and hugged her tightly, Carmen having to float away to give them room from the sudden embrace. "I...I really missed you."

Pichu was taken aback slightly when he got the glare in response to his cuteness, small tears coming to his eyes. Ben smiled sadly. "Come on, Pichu, this is a battle! That Pokemon's not trying to be your friend! Hit it with a Thundershock!" Looking back, Pichu nodded and balled its fists up, loosing a strong jolt of electricity in Croconaw's direction. After the accuracy training he had gotten fighting that jumping Goldeen, his aim was much improved from before, which made Ben grateful that he'd taken on that fisherman.

Riza wasn't quite sure how long she sat there on that rock, watching Eris do her thing. Eventually, the Quilava had gotten tired of pouncing and had soon started using her Extrasensory to throw rocks at the birds, and when that got boring she started trying to grab them with her odd, psychic power as well. This proved to be trickier than she thought, but even without instruction from her trainer she could tell she was getting better and better with her Extrasensory. Having had her fun though, and feeling quite tired due to the mental strain, she'd trotted back over to Riza's side for some well-deserved affection when the sound of footsteps caught both of their attention.

Riza had leaned down to scratch the Quilava behind the ears when the fire-type looked up, and Riza did as well, her grey eyes going wide with a mixture of surprise and happiness the moment she saw the familiar, tall blonde boy heading her way. "Shiro!" she cried, jumping to her feet. She'd underestimated just how quickly he'd been heading toward her and before she could even take a step he'd thrown his arms around her and was hugging her tightly. The raven haired girl quickly wrapped her arms around him as well. "I really missed you too," she said, nuzzling her face into his shoulder. "Your new outfit looks good," she added in a muffled voice after a few moments had passed.

The sounds of the wold pokemon, the wind blowing, it didn't exist to Crenu right now. He was almost trapped in his mind again, but this time it was pleasant. This time, it was a place he wanted to be. He held Riza tightly, and he felt her hug him back. Her face nuzzling into him, the bandaged up trainer couldn't help but smile. A real smile, her comment on his outfit getting through. "Oh...thanks. Better than looking like a bum right?" He said as he looked at her, donning his more serious expression again. But a small smile remained in the corners of his mouth, they weren't going anywhere. "I didn't expect to see you out here. But...I'm glad." Carmen looked at his trainer, and at the dark haired girl who she saw breifly after hatching. Her trainer was happy, and that was good. She almost didn't notice the other pokemon that was hanging aroudn them, and Carmen happily floated over to the fire type, fingers flashing eagerly wanting to play with her. Reluctantly Crenu let the hug go, taking a half a step back. But he left his hands on her arms as they slid down to her hands, taking them in his. "It hasn't been long, but it's felt like it has been. I know I acted oddly before and even mean but...I'm really glad you're with me. I'm sorry I questioned your motives before."

If Zorua currently hadn't been disguised as her scaly teammate with an overbite, she likely would have pouted at Ben's comment - how did he know that she didn't want to be Pichu's friend? Regardless, that would have to wait, as the little mouse loosed a jolt of electricity in Zorua's direction. Both she and Jasper knew if it hit, her illusion would be broken, and neither Pokemon nor trainer were willing to give up their ruse just yet. "Try to deflect it with your Extrasensory," Jasper called hopefully. Zorua nodded, baring her fangs once more as she focused her mental powers into a concentrated burst, which she then launched at the oncoming electricity. Jasper wasn't sure it would even work until he saw it happen - the psychic energy redirected Pichu's Thundershock and sent it fizzling out harmlessly into the ground nearby. "All right, excellent work!" the boy called, causing Zorua to dance happily on the spot.

Ben's expression was one of dumbfounded shock when he saw his Pichu's electric attack die out. "What happened? Was that a Psychic type move? Hey, what's the deal, that's a Water Pokemon!" He shouted, clearly confused about the Croconaw's move selection. Shaking it off, he looked back to Pichu. "Go give it a good tail whip!" he ordered, watching his Pichu break into a dash and do a quick spin into the air to smack the Croconaw in the face with its tail.

Eris had watched the human boy carefully as he hugged her trainer, ear twitching slightly. A protective instinct came over her and her flames flared up for only a second before she realized that Riza seemed happy for once. Deciding there was no threat, the Quilava looked to the strange floating Pokemon, blinking in confusion at the array of flashing lights from her fingers. Eris really didn't know what it meant, but she got the feeling that Carmen wanted to play so she made a cute little barking noise and darted off, looking over her shoulder in hopes that she could convince the Elgyem to play a game of tag, and she wouldn't even cheat by running her fastest!

Riza, meanwhile, chuckled at Shiro's reply, reluctantly letting him go as he backed off a bit to look at her. "Definitely better than a bum," she smiled, looking down for as their fingers laced together. It did feel as though they hadn't seen each other in a while. She wanted to ask why he was only trusting her now, but somehow she knew that it probably wouldn't end well, so instead she leaned forward and kissed him. "Don't worry about it. We're together now, and that's all that matters, okay?"

Little Carolyn the Smoochum had cried out quite painfully from Darla's sudden Astonish attack and she staggered a bit. Her eyes narrowed in anger. "Carolyn! Strike back with Pound while you're close!" Autumn called. The little kiss Pokemon growled an swung her tiny hand, landing a solid punch to the side of the Solosis' body.

"See? I told you!" Katie sighed, smacking her forehead with her palm. "Now use Reflect! And don't let it hit you like that again!" It was clear to see that the Solosis was rather angry, and though she'd much rather smash her body into her opponent over and over again, she kept herself in check and summoned her energy into calling up a protective pane of glass-like light.

"That Pokemon is a feisty one," Autumn commented with a smile. "But Carolyn's not exactly perfectly behaved herself." The Smoochum was still glaring at Darla, little fist curled into a ball as it shook it at the other psychic-type. "Let's use Calm Mind again, okay? Maybe that'll help." The dual ice and psychic-type nodded and closed her eyes, focusing her mind's energy.

Darla wasn't about to let that happen though, as the Solosis became encompassed by a sinister, dark glow. The same glow covered the Smoochum for a second and then she was just standing there, wearing a very confused look as the Solosis gained the benefits of the Calm Mind she had just used.

"Marill!" Omelette grunted, flexing its little arms tauntingly at his wimpy opponent who was forever cursed not to have loaded guns like these.

"Okay, what z'he hell is happening here?" Sasha quipped, not in any mood to be watching her language, despite the present company. "Bishop!" she shouted, taking out her Pokedex. With a happy chime, the device analyzed the newly evolved Pokemon.

"Marill, male, the Aqua Mouse Pokemon." it droned. "The evolved form of Azurill-"

"Oui!" Sasha interrupted. That part was quite obvious, thank you! "Je sais! Je sais! Pourquoi est elle-why is she a he?!" She was far too baffled to be polite with the machine.

"Erm," Bishop II stumbled. "Azurill is unique in the Pokemon world as the only species of Pokemon that can spontaneously change gender from female to male during evolution. It is only present in the females of the species, and not in any other Pokemon on record." Omelette seemed rather proud of this, and once again showcased its stubby arms, winking at Erika. She obviously liked what she saw.

"I cannot handle z'his right now." Sasha said with a heavy sigh, snapping the device shut before it could frustrate her any further. How did she find all these crazy Pokemon? She then realized that she was making nothing short of a scene in front of her friend, and turned back to her, her cheeks flushed. "Oh, uh, désolé, ma petite fleur!" Sasha waved her hand nervously. "Um. Do you want to finish z'his battle or should we call it quits?" Omelette scoffed, looking back at his trainer in disgust, but was met with a scowl from a girl who was absolutely done with the entire situation before her. Even with his new bravado, the Marill squeaked in fear, recoiling from Sasha's glare.

Carmen was happily observing the Quilava and was excited to meet a new pokemon. But when she barked and ran off, Carmen stumbled back for a second, before droning cutely and following. She wasn't very fast, but she glided inches off the ground effortlessly in hot pursuit. Hands extended flashing her fingers as she tried to catch Eris. While the pokemon played, the humans kissed and enjoyed their close proximity. Crenu smiled, giving Riza's hand a squeeze. This saddened him though because while he felt that he was squeezing something, the badages that covered his hands came between them and denied their skin the contact that they should have been enjoying. To be able to touch but not feel, it was rather cruel. But he didn't let it show, and just nodded. "Yes. That's what matters. Thank you for coming to meet me. I believe we have...a gym battle to attend." Mid sentence Crenu had to pause, feeling very dizzy. He didn't realize it before but it wasn't all imagination, his wounds had in fact opened slightly. Probably from his hitting the cave floor in his despair. They weren't bleeding a lot, just a few red spots and generally nothing to worry about, but Crenu's arms and hands had been bleeding like this or worse for the past few days practically non stop. He had in fact lost quite a lot of blood, too much blood, over the past few days and had been fighting it the whole way. But trekking through a mountain and all the stress he'd been under did him no favors at all. He could put on a brave face all he wanted, but the paleness of his face was evident and it would have been cool to the touch, and as he felt the dizziness persist and get worse he was almost brought to his knees. He clutched onto Riza for a moment before he righted himself, shaking his head quickly and trying to ignore it. "Sorry, headache....shall we...shall we go?" His heart rate had increased quite a bit to compensate for the loss, but was far past that thanks to the crossing and the excitement he felt seeing Riza again. Still he refused to give in and tried to lead them towards Pewter as his body protested, but his stubbornness won out as he was able to right himself after a few wobbling steps. Or so he thought as he nearly fell over again. "...s**t....uh, just...just gimme a sec to catch my breath...crossed Mt. Moon in a hurry." His mind was buzzing, it was really hard to focus and now he really did have a pounding headache. This was bad, but it wouldn't stop him. Nothing could stop him. Not now, not when he finally got to Riza and was letting her know how he felt.

Pepper was quickly learning that Alphonse never really did anything halfway, as her Attract had been quite successful in stopping the Piplup from attacking her. Now, however, the little penguin was staring at the Minccino with nothing less than hearts in his eyes, waving both flippers as he declared his undying love for the Chinchilla Pokemon. "Okay, that's enough of that," Kasiya muttered, managing to recall the two Pokemon with some difficulty. It was even more difficult for her to gather up the ridiculous amount of extra Pokeballs, making a face at Mike and completely ignored the fact that he'd used the word 'seldom.' "Hiro happens to love ice cream," she told the boy matter-of-factly, but it was probably of little consequence to give the Arcanine an ice cream cone, as it was always gone in one slurp and Kasiya wasn't even sure the Arcanine tasted it.

"Yeah, Hayley! You can come too!" she said, much to Shocker's delight. The Raichu was enjoying her new friend and had already started to give the little one pointers. Both Kasiya and Shocker cheered when their new friend agreed to come along. "I'll be right back, Shocker!" Kasiya motioned to the Raichu, nearly tripping over her own feet as she ran along behind Mike to send all her Pokemon back to Professor Oak. She had no real need to swap her Pokemon again so soon, even if she was reluctant to part with Nova and Levi and all the rest of them. Sometimes, the six-Pokemon-only team rule was really, really lame.

After the heart-wrenching task of sending away most of her beloved Pokemon, Kasiya sulkily followed Mike back outside, though the sight of Shocker and Kaylee together did make her smile a little bit. The fact that she was about to get ice cream also helped, and she beamed up at Mike. "Why thank you, kind Sir," she said, eagerly taking his hand. "Let's go get some yummy ice cream!"

Now we should be able to use that Stored Power move, Jaeshan thought as Sigilyph drifted around him in a slow circle, but both trainer and Pokemon turned to look at Kevin as he sent out his partner. "Mismawhatnow?" the boy asked, quickly fumbling for his PokeDex, thankful the thing was working again. "Mismagius," he read, scratching his chin with his free arm (and silently swearing to himself that he'd seen this exact Pokemon somewhere before). "The Magical Pokemon, and the evolved form of Misdreavus. Its cry sounds like an incantation. It is said the cry may rarely be imbued with happiness-giving power." He glanced up at the Ghost-type, and then back at his Dex. "Okay then."

He closed the device and looked back at his own Pokemon. "Ready for some serious training?" he asked the Avianoid Pokemon, and Sigilyph droned in reply. "Good! Let's do this, then!" Jaeshan rubbed his hands together and looked over at Kevin and his Mismagius. With any luck, he could get Sigilyph to learn how to use Psybeam (at the very least) and possibly even Air Cutter before they attempted to challenge the gym. "Let's give your new Calm Mind a try, okay?" Sigilyph droned a second time, his odd, winglike appendages quivering as he enhanced his already-impressive mental prowess.

Erika's Cherubi was looking just as confused as the two girls, at least until Omelette began to taunt it. It hopped up and down, obviously fuming as its pinkish body had taken an angry, red glow and its little cheeks were puffed out in a sad attempt to make it look a little bigger.

The gym leader had covered her mouth as Sasha's PokeDex delivered an explanation to the rather amusing situation. "Well, I guess... you learn something new every day?" the dark-haired gym leader offered, not at all bothered by Sasha's little display. After all, it wasn't every day that your Pokemon went all gender-bender on you upon evolving. She smiled, and gave a slight bow. "I am fine to continue, but you seem a bit... flustered. Perhaps we should take a break for now?"

Hayley's artistic habits had not gone unnoticed by Mike, he just kept a respectable distance from her as she doodled so he didn't accidentally ignite what might have been days worth of work. Nonetheless, he was still intrigued. "I'd love to see those sketches sometime, Hayley. Just from a few steps back." He chuckled, momentarily oblivious to the fact that the girl was a new friend, not someone who had been around him for the past few weeks and as such, was unaware he was some sort of hybrid fire mutant zombie thing. He wanted for her to pack up her things before heading out, hand in hand with Kasiya.

As a homegrown Hoenn boy, Mike was pretty lost when it came to Kanto hot spots. Thankfully, that was what technology was for! Using his handy dandy PokeNav, the boy GPS'd his way to the nearest NeverMelt Ice Cream shop and led the way, jokingly pretending that he knew where he was going while not hiding the constant peeks at the device. Occasionally he'd fret to Kasi about how vulnerable he felt without Nitro and PB around. "How do you do this constantly?" he fretted, pulling closer to her for safety, and maybe a peck on the cheek or two, but who's counting? After a bit of that, he decided not to be rude and include Hayley in on the conversation. "So, this your first badge?" He asked, looking over to the girl and cocking his eyebrow in legitimate intrigue.

Riza was only vaguely aware of Eris and Carmen playing nearby as she looked down at Shiro's bandaged hands, and then slowly up his arms. It was hard not to notice the bright red spots that were slowly starting to soak through the white of the bandages, and she frowned. Shouldn't those injuries started to heal by now? "Shiro," she said, her pending gym battle the furthest thing from her mind as she looked at him a little more carefully. What skin she could see was very, very pale and he looked a little sweaty. Those factors alone wouldn't have made Riza worry, but for a moment, she was certain that Crenu was going to faint. In typical Crenu fashion, however, he attempted to shrug it off, but the more he insisted nothing was wrong, the more Riza knew he was trying to hide it from her. She knew it was more likely that he didn't want her to worry about him, but again the more he insisted he was fine, the more she did worry. "Shiro." Her voice had taken on a stern tone, like what she would use when Eris was misbehaving. Speaking of the Quilava, she recalled the fire-type before she could get herself into trouble. She then took the blonde boy by the shoulders and led him over to the rock she'd been sitting on before. "Sit down, lean against that," she told him, kneeling down and pulling a water bottle from her backpack. She unscrewed the cap and handed it to him. "Drink," she told him, her grey eyes on the brink of tears. She knew he wouldn't want to hear this from her, but her gut was telling her something was wrong. "Shiro," she said again, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Your wounds aren't healing. You look sick. You need to see a doctor, Shiro."

"What was that?" Katie asked, blinking in confusion as her now smug Solosis drifted around in a slow circle. Darla was easily quite proud of herself while meanwhile, Carolyn the Smoochum looked utterly infuriated.

"I'm not sure but I think that was Snatch," Autumn mused, adjusting her maid's headband carefully. "It steals the effects of stat boosting or healing moves, I think. Very useful if you can time it right. We're not done yet, though! Carolyn, use your Powder Snow!"

The Kiss Pokemon, still quite angry from having her Calm Mind stolen, took a deep breath before spewing out a gust of snowy air. Darla didn't like that, letting out a fearful cry as some of the snow clung to her body, forming solid icy patches. "Fight back with Shadow Ball!" Katie shouted. It was easily the Solosis' best move. The angry little Cell Pokemon gave a shout as she lobbed the shadowy sphere at the annoying Smoochum, scoring a direct hit and causing Carolyn to cry out painfully.

Crenu's mind was set on getting them to Pewter, on being there for Riza's gym battle. It was what she invited him to do, it was the excuse he needed to come see her. And while seeing her was the real reason he came, he wasn't going to let himself gt in the way of her progress. But She was having none of that from him, and neither was his body. He didn't have the strength to really protest, and she had little trouble getting him over to the rock where he clumsily sat down. Carmen, no longer having her fiery playmate, took notice of her trainer's condition and floated over heavy with concearn and wanting to help. It was all Crenu could do in a moment of clerity to recall her, not wanting his pokemon to see him like this. He didn't want Riza to see him like this either, but that problem wasn't as easily solved. Having gained his senses he tried to protest again as she offered him water, her tone was nothing to be messed with but Crenu was a man with a heavy tone himself. It wouldn't have worked either, but as he looked at her and stared directly into her gey eyes with his dull silvery blue ones, he couldn't help noticing nothing but the tears that were so ready to flow from them. Unlike a stern tone, this was something he just couldn't defend against. He took the bottle from her and drained it's contents slowly, water dripping down the side of his mouth as he tilted his head back bringing it back down when the bottle was half empty. "I'm...I'm fine." He insisted again, trying to get up again, but he couldn't move as he looked at her. Riza's soft gentle hand on his shoulder, he placed his hand ontop of hers and just looked at her as he felt his vision blur as his head started to get dizzy again. He shook his head and forced himself to focus, doing everything he could to keep her image clear. She was..concerned. Worried. She cared. She wanted him to be well, she was sad and near tears because of him. He couldn't pretend any longer, she knew he wasn't well. It was written all over him, and as the blood continued to soak into the bandages and the red spots grew, his labored breathing growing louder, he clutched her hand tightly and closed his eyes. "...alright. Fine. If it'll make you feel...feel better. Celedon has a decent hospital I think...not sure if Pewter has one. Don't worry, I'm good to fly. Promise." He said as he sat up straight, stubbornly making himself hold strong.

Ken was incredibly excited to see Jae so pumped up for their training, and he was goign to be sure not to let the man down. He smiled at the site of him scanning his Mismagius with his dex, he hoped his Mismagius could forgive him for forgetting her. She was more touchy than he was some times. She seemed ok for now though, at least she didn't seem all that hurt by it. Instead she flaoted at the ready and stared down her opponent's one eye, curious as to what it was going to do, wondering what tricks it had planned. Ken also wanted to know what Jae had taught it just now, and how prepared he was for his upcoming battle, and it didn't take long to find out. The Sigilyph started things off as his body started to glow with Calm Mind, a very good move. Ken would have to guess Psychic type then, but he couldn't be sure. "Very nice, with some work you could get that Calm Mind up to dazeling effects to earn some nice points...er, I mean never mind. Story for another day. First thing is first, grass types love to hit you with status moves. Sleep and Paralysys are the big ones you'll see a lot of via Sleep Powder and Stun Spore, of course there is poisoning as well with Poison Powder and Toxic, grass and poison go hand in hand for the most part. So you'll want to be on the look out for indirect attacks that can cost you the match in the long run, usually from a distance. Mismagius show them what I mean and use Confuse Ray!" Ken spun around once and shot his arm out forward as he gave his command, and Mismagius obeyed. Without closing the distance between them, she remained in place and launched a strange ball of light directly at the Avianoid pokemon, thought the ball was moving at an admittedly slower rate than she'd normally send one off towards an enemy.
