Scridget Flute and piccolo heart
Our oboe player has such a big head gonk He got first chair region, then went on to state. He gets solos all the time. Then, at the end of the concert and he has to stand for the recognition blah blah blah, he waves. I hate people like that! I don't take recognition for my "special abilities" to be able to start out on the oboe...I'm treated like another flute...even though I'm not a flute!

oboe can be quite charming, if played properly.
So somber, and melancholy : ) it's wonderful.

Though, I must admit, I don't like the sounds of double reeds at all sweatdrop I really don't mind! I don't like special treatment or anything...my first oboe was a school oboe and it was all messed up and the first note I played sounded like a dying goose! 3nodding It doesn't sound much better yet but that's because none of my BD's have really known too much about the oboe and they treat me like a flute so...yeah

I_love_SimplePlan I play flute/picclo I've played the flute for 4 years but this year I can't be in band crying I know how you feel--I'm going into ninth and I haven't been in band since mid-seventh. But hopefully I'll be able to get back in; I've been playing my flute after all, teaching myself things on my own, when I'm not playing my precious guitar. ::Strokes Vincento lovingly.::

My band director couldn't tell me enough how much he depended upon me last year at UIL. We played a song that had a piccolo and tuba solo at the end of the song and I never played it right due to nerves. -sigh- didn't even do it right at contest, nor at the concert.
