"Yes, she is an elf," he muttered, pulling his eyebrows together as he brushed away the drawing with a palm. "Ryanne is the first magical being I met as a vampire."

"Now homie, lemme lay this out in words you might understand." Tossing his headphones to the ground, they seemingly reconfigured themselves into a large pair of speakers. Removing a pen from his pocket, they found that it quickly reshaped itself into a mic. "There is a hole in front of the shovel, shovel in front of the brawn Six billion gorillas for whom the graves yawn Each withered his mule-ish days to choose his tool of trade Dueling blades that cue the cruel charade and fuel the flames If you would clue the crew into the civil Just get the food and land like you the man who flew the coop over the pit-bulls Dash back flashy to compassionate nano police Sat beneath an avalanche and jagged and nautical seas And I would stop the violence more than I was Pontius Pilate Cops and robbers riot by the vows of noxious sirens A is gullible he figure all man equal no brainer."
Zephyr sat there, his large cynober eyes dumbstruck. "...WHAT?"

Lin's eyes widened largely again. "You've met an elf before me?! Well, of course you probably have with how long you've been alive. You remember her name, though?"
She reached forward and put her hand on his shoulder, hoping to make him feel comfortable sharing more with her.

Ialo stared at Aesop, who had broken into a another song... if one could call it that, in his opinion. Of course, after hanging around Shuusuke for longer than ten minutes, one couldn't be too surprised. "... What the hell?" Ialo did not understand the song at all. Oh, it probably had a meaning, but right now, the dragon was too tired and wound up to focus on anything over than sweet revenge. "I'm a businessman, not a... wordy-type person."

"GAH." Shuusuke moaned in agitation. "Ok fine, I'll say it. The militant guy you fought, he's not alone. There are others below him vying for power as much as he is. And he is certainly not the top, some new sinister force is tugging at the strings. All of ours."

".... Oh, that's what you meant!" Ialo sighed. "You should have said that earlier...." He had barely finished sentence before he began thinking again. He gently pushed Luna away, and began pacing. Unconsciously, he began to rub his right wrist. "First off, we'll have to figure out exactly it is they're after... then destroy or hide the target. That man, that man, I swear i know that man from somewhere..." But for some reason, Ialo just could not bring up the man's name. "That was definitely some illegal genetic research there. s**t, they still have Set and Horus too! I need to go back and get them!"

He grinned and sighed, giving up. "I used to think like how you do now-- separating dark creatures from light creatures. And I'm almost positive I've mentioned how I used to feel about my kind before I accepted it." He laid down on his back, wanting to get comfortable as he spoke. "It's a very hard name to forget, really. Since she gave me an injury while I was still young. Still in the process of becoming immortal. After being bitten, Little One left me alone where I suffered, I think, several months without feeding. I had no sense of time before, no sense of what I was or what I did. All I knew was that I couldn't get out. "There was an ice nymph nearby, hearing my moans of anguish every night when I wanted to flee and kill. And, like you know, nature's creatures are rarely apart from each other." He swallowed, closing his eyes as he tried to make the next scene in his mind into words. A couple moments passed by before his lips parted again. "One night, I decided to break loose. Having the thoughts of a psychopathic killer at the moment, I jumped through the window rather than walk through the door. That's when I rolled into a big pile of snow, which was the nymph. Her name, I don't remember. But I do remember Ryanne, because I saw her first. She walked up to me with violet skin and little clothing, and offered me her hand. Me, thinking she was a human, almost attacked her. But I stayed still, frightened, really. I wasn't a killer at heart. I still am not.." "So I laid in the snow, afraid, practically naked from my own clawing at myself, staring into the face of a beautiful woman. Her face twisted into an angry scowl and she lifted her hand, conjuring a spell I suppose. It sent me into a dreamland of horror and pain. I'm not going to even attempt at describing how terrible of a place she put me in.. "When I returned to the present, I had tears in my eyes and I had screamed at her, asking her why she would do that to me. She merely shrugged and said she was in need for entertainment. Before I could react, before I could even blink, she was in front of me, stepping on my bent knee, forcing it to be fixed. Eventually, it bent the other way. I remember screaming so loud.. but I remember no blood. I hadn't fed yet, so that is obvious now. But before, I was so innocent, I didn't mean to cause her harm. I couldn't even stand up and defend myself because her nymph friend held me in the snow, not allowing me to get up. Then, Ryanne slashed at my chest three times." He chuckled, unbuttoning his shirt to show Lin the faded scars. "It's funny how they form a D. D for Dymetri," he said sadly. "She moved on even further by introducing herself and her friend. Acting so proper after the crime they dealt against me. When she extended her hand towards me for a handshake, I pulled her hand to my face and prepared to bite her. That's when she said that that wouldn't be a wise idea, because her blood was venomous against me. She looked surprised when she said that, though. As if not expecting that I was a vampire. Or that the wounds she caused me didn't heal fast enough. Either way, she said it fairly quickly. Now I know that because a bite from me would have killed her either way. Even the smallest touch from my fangs is able to kill an elf." He looked at Lin with a smirk. "With that knowledge, she and her friend fled, promising to see me again. That's bullshit of course. After they left, I gathered anything I needed and began running towards London. That's a very long time from Durham, by the way, which was where I lived. Once I got there, I fed on a squirrel. I soon found out that the wounds she caused me never really did heal. And that's why I still have these scars on my chest," he said, briefly pointing to the evidence. "Anyway, after a century or two, I realized that after everything.. even a light creature can have evil, and a dark creature can be good. That's what I'm trying to teach you before you even have the chance to go through what I've gone through." Luna sat with crossed legs as she watched the scene in front of her. Every so often, she would cover her unmentionables with her hair. "What about me?" she asked softly, suddenly feeling innocent.

Lin could barely process what he was telling her. An elf had done that to him? Elves didn't do that. They didn't torture creatures, not even dark ones. They might kill them, but that was for protection and to help innocent, defenseless people. She had never heard of an elf who would do something that Dymetri was describing.
She was torn between wanting to believe Dymetri and wanting to believe her people. Well, there was only one way to find out the truth. She had to rely on her meditative powers.
She reached her shaking hand forward, hovering in front of his chest where the scars were. "May I?"

Dymetri raised an eyebrow. He wasn't familiar with what Lin wanted to do. Unless, she just wanted to touch him. That was alright too. "You may."

Lin nodded and reached her hand forward the rest of the way, resting it against his scars. She closed her eyes and cleared her mind. She entered into her familiar meditative trance.
She searched for the connection between the scars and what caused the scars. It threw her back in time to where she could see someone kneeling on the ground being tortured. She had seen past events when she was being trained on meditating. She had quickly learned that you were merely seeing the past. It had already happened. You couldn't change it. It was basically like watching a video tape.
She knew it must be Dymetri kneeling, after what he described to her, but he looked so... different. Like a tortured human who had been deprived of good, healthy food for weeks.
She walked closer to him to make sure it was actually him. It was. There was something about him that made her know it was Dymetri. But he looked so human. Attractive features. Not stunning like his features were now, his vampire features. He was handsome, though. Well, he would have been if his eyes and cheek bones weren't sunken in due to hunger.
His eyes... his eyes were so strikingly blue. They were incredible. She still loved his current eyes, but his blue human eyes were very attractive.
He must still look like his human form because he hadn't fed yet, hadn't fully taken on his vampire role. His first feeding would probably start to transform his body, eat away at his soul...
But this would be even more difficult to watch, if possible. She not only had to watch Dymetri being tortured, but he looked so much like an innocent human. He still WAS innocent at that time, not having killed a single human yet. The elf was torturing him when Dymetri obviously looked like a human, not even close to resembling a vampire. Well, Dymetri had said that she seemed surprised to see his fangs when he finally revealed them. As if she didn't know he had been a vampire until after the torture was over and he showed his fangs. She was torturing a human in her mind...
When her vision had ended, her face was completely white, her breathing was very rapid, and she was shaking badly. She had seen that elf torture him. No matter how dark the creature was, there was no reason to torture a living being unless in times of war and you desperately needed information.
She quickly stood up and walked over to the grove of trees behind them. She rested her hands on the trunk of one of them and then leaned her forehead against the bark.

He disappeared and reappeared next to her, holding her. One hand was against the side of her head, placing it underneath his chin. He softly hummed to her and rocked her back and forth, trying to calm her down. "Shh," he would whisper. "Calm down. Tell me what just happened." Dymetri was unaware of what she saw or that she was seeing anything at all. He was curious as all hell and he needed to know immediately. He never would say it out loud, but he loved to learn about other creatures. It made him feel more secure when dealing with one.

Lin was still shaking in his arms, but she slowed her breathing down by breathing in his calming scent. She knew vampires had that scent to lure in their prey, but that's not what he was doing right now. The scent was very calming to her.
She mumbled softly against his chest, seeing as how his shirt was still unbuttoned, "I... I wanted to touch your scars before because it would allow me to see what caused those scars. It's a skill all Elves have. We have great meditative skills, and they can allow us to see past events. Most of us have to touch something that can physically connect us to that past event, but the elders can simply send themselves to that past event just by focus and concentration."
She decided that now wasn't the time to be proper. She was too upset to care about being proper. Plus, she wanted to reassure herself that Dymetri was right here, he had lived through that awful experience and was with her right now. So, she wrapped her arms around his torso.
"I saw the torture you went through. I saw your human form... That Elf did not know you were a vampire. You did not even look like one. She thought she was torturing a human... I don't understand. And to see you going through that when you were obviously very weak and powerless to defend yourself... I'm so sorry you had to experience that. I heard your screams, felt your terror..."
She began shaking really hard again and her breathing grew more rapid.

"That's not entirely accurate...They...how do I put this..."
"Busters came up here while you were gone and nabbed Ra too homie."
"Right. That's how I put that."
"So what the f.uck are we supposed to do then? They've got all of them now! God knows what the hell they'll do to them!"
"Not true dawg, there were four."
"What? There's another?"
"We need to find Bastet. Now."

His face was blank as she continued, not understanding what her words meant until she began to tremble violently. He held her even tighter, upset that she would even try doing such a thing. "Why would you do that, Lin?" he whispered, sadness in his voice. "Why would you force yourself to see that? After everything I told you. Were to trying to see if I was lying to you? I would never lie to you, Lin.. Never.." He softly kissed the top of her head and laid against the trunk she was against before. He let her lie on him, and he tried to calm her down. Not using spells, and not using magic, but just by holding her. "That was so stupid of you, Lin. That was very stupid. Why did you.. Why.. Just why. That's a horrible thing to relive, not even I could go back to that. Why did I let you do such a stupid thing!" He cursed under his breath and caressed her lovingly, trying to keep calm himself. "Shh.."

Hearing the concern and slight anger in his voice broke her. She had never heard someone speak to her like that before, had never heard someone describe her as stupid. For once, she really felt her young age in human years. Elves aged gradually... very gradually until they were at a certain age and just stopped aging. She was actually 120, but 15 in human years according to maturity (mentally and physically). And this was the first time she really felt 15. It had been stupid of her. She should have trusted him. He hadn't lied to her once yet, even when he was being cruel to her when they first met. She just couldn't believe that an Elf would torture another living creature.
She did something that she had hardly ever done in her lifetime. She cried. She didn't feel like he was really angry with her. Just very concerned. For some reason, she felt a strong emotion coming from him directed at her. An emotion she had never experienced before. It was overwhelming. All of this had been overwhelming and she just had to release some of the pent up emotion somehow.
In between her sobs, she managed to say, "I'm... I'm sorry. I should have... trusted you. I just... I didn't understand how another Elf could do that... I'm so sorry."
