Hotstreak blinked at her, looking a little surprised and still confused. That seemed more like concern for a person than concern for a teammate... "I-I just need to go think," he replied, turning to walk off. s**t, he stuttered. When was the last time he stuttered? Not even when Aqua Maria flipped and was about to kill him did he stutter!

Hitomi sidestepped quickly, keeping her body open to him as she followed his motions, moving her hand from his arm to behind her back. "Hotstreak?" She questioned, bending at the hip slightly to the side, trying to follow his line of eyesight at this point. "What's goin' on with you?"

"Why do you care!?" he demanded, when they were far enough away from the others. It came out a little more angry-sounding than he'd anticipated, but then again, that's just the way he was. "When have I done anything for you?"

At his confrontation of her, Hitomi felt a twinge of pain be added to her already unstable emotions. But she breathed in slowly, relaxing herself so she wouldn't just start screaming back at him. She just wasn't going to add to his inflated, fiery ego any more than it already was."I don't know." She said simply, staring up at him now. "And all you've done is yell at me, make flirtatious slurs about me, and burn me while in a fit of rage--even if it was an accident."

Hitomi blinked at Hotstreak for a moment as she formulated an answer in her mind. Because I'm beginning to like you, was what she wanted to say, but she knew that this was neither the time nor the place for such an answer. She also didn't even want to think of what he would do if she actually did say that too. "Well uh," She began before she sighed lightly, scratching the side of her head. "I guess that since you are my comrade and my friend, I want to look out for you and be there for you and the like, ya know?"

Friend... That wasn't a word Hotstreak often heard. Things like it, yes, but never as sincere as Hitomi had put it. "Comrade I get; up until someone makes me a better deal, that is," he began, not so subtly hinting he'd dump the group if he thought someone else could give him something better. "But... friend? When did I do anything to make people think I'm the friendly type?"

Hitomi, whose hand was still on the back of her head, turned it slightly upwards. She glanced about the shining night sky, the light reflecting off her dark eyes gently. "Well, after you burned me...we talked on the rooftop of that one building, and I got a real understanding of where you came from. I think that was the first time you've ever really opened up to me, and well, I definitely took that to heart." She told him simply as she bit the inside of her cheek slowly, trying to think of something else to say. "I say your my friend because I care about you Hotstreak, a good amount too." She told him as she looked back to him and smile gently, shrugging her shoulders now, not knowing what else to say.

((Oh, so close. >.< I fail at riddles.))
Hotstreak was about to argue that he didn't really open up - that he had only apologized and said he hated his birth name (which reminded him that he still needed to threaten Gear about that)- but the part about her caring about him caught him off guard. Sure, a few people had said that too him, and a couple he even believed, but... this seemed different, somehow. However, he wasn't in the habit of simply taking people's words at face-value, and that wasn't about to start anytime soon. After all, he thought Aqua Maria cared about him, but the first chance she got, she'd chosen to ditch him. Just to be "normal." "Yeah, we'll see," he opted to reply, not caring if she understood what he meant or not. Now seemed like a good time to change the subject. "So, uh, you came right here when you lost control and randomly teleported, or somethin', right? What have you been doin' since then?"

At Hotstreak's response, Hitomi merely smiled. "Heh, sure thing." She replied before she blinked up at him. She lowered her hand to her side, placing it upon her slightly-cocked hip as she furrowed her brow slightly in remembrance. "Uh..." She began before she shrugged once more. "More or less. I honestly don't know what happened, or why it did anyway." She told him as she took up her pendent into her free hand, staring down at it. "But well, since I've been here, I've been avoiding all the creeps and jackasses who would just love to hurt me, as well as I've been actually training. Like, with you traveling here I guess. Time here has been moving a lot faster, like a few months at a time or something. I honestly have no idea, this world is crazy as it is..." She told Hotstreak with a light laugh, smiling all the while.

Hitomi asked him with a light chuckle and a sheepish smirk, moving her hands to her arms, rubbing them lightly, trying to not mind how the temperature was dropping due to the loss of the sun's warmth.

"Don't forget pyromaniac," Hotstreak joked along with her. He frowned a bit when he saw her rubbing at her arms. Without even thinking about it, he made a baseball-sized fireball, then held it out to her. No, he didn't expect her to take it, but she could warm up with it like by a campfire. "We could go back to the ship, or find an inn, to get you out of the cold," he suggested, because he was pretty sure she'd turn down the offer for him to set fire to a trashcan like they were a couple of hobos.

Alucard took his chance to look up into the sky and saw why she wanted to stay. "You know, I think that's a really good idea.." He told her as he took a seat while gazing up into the night sky. "Sometimes, it's easy to miss the best things in life.." He said to himself.
Joseph just shrugged his shouldes when she told him to reconsider. "Well, all right." He told Oomizu as he looked down to her poking his stomach. "And it seems you're enjoying yourself." He told her as he poked her forehead.
