She shrugged lightly with a smile. "Oh my dad was one. He used to take me to work with him sometimes. I thought it was the best thing in the world and he didn't work with the dead things, just the evidence from the dead things really." Then another look to him with a raised eyebrow. "Enjoy it, no, but tolerate being able to do so, yes."

A look around her office a moment, looking at the nice mess that was starting in the place. Ah, familiar chaos. Though there was also a note on her desk in scribbly writing. Reading it over she gave a laugh. From aforementioned Erik who was complaining about Tempest getting out again. "He was eaten once...or almost anyway. The Leviathan had hold of him in it's jaws...though it's still too small to eat Erik and Erik is too quick at escaping when he really needs to."

"Oh, Erik is just complaining about Tempest. And yes, I hear from her quite regularly actually. She seems to like keeping me informed and she's also seemed to have nicknamed me." A slight shrug at that as she watched with a little hint of distaste and he went about straightening things.

"Word is her father is out of the ICU now and is going home. Says she should be on her way back up soon." Of course she left out the her being in love part. Jelena had given her warning to Lilia about it. After all, Jelena herself dated as was obvious and she still got to her work. Sometimes it took precedence.

Then she crossed her arms at him. "Easier isn't the life I'm looking for. And besides, who knows...maybe if I'm organized out here, I won't as much in there. Creating life deems organization."

"Not any that she's mentioned. She mentioned that someone she was interested in was a writer but I quote 'not that type of writer'. I still told her to be careful about it." Jelena gave a casual shrug. "And we'll see if you two can keep me both organized and happy about it at the same time. Quite the challenge I assume."

She chuckled slightly, running a hand through her hair. "I doubt anything would actually eat him. I'm not sure us humans are too tasty. Not to mention what will all the stuff in us today like nanos and the like."

"But I do find things quickly and easily. I know exsctly where everything is in my chaos. It's when you people start putting things in other places and calling it clean that I start to loose things." Yes, she was defending the childish logic of that.

Jelena crossed her arms, leaning back on her hip against her desk. "Promise me that if I don't like it and if I'm not happy then you'll leave the mess alone and let it build up so I will be happy and like it?" It was worth the shot. "And I only fall asleep at keyboards because I work long hours and have been behind on data."

Jelena shook her head. "It's not fair of me to simply dump all kinds of work on you James. Were supposed to be dating, not me using you for a one man efficent work force. You already do enough as it is now...really." Really didn't want to use him like that...just seemed off to her and probably one of the reasons she always dated off her own cruiser.

"And deal. I'll give it at least a week and I'll try to be tenative about this too." After all, she was donf of deals.

She shrugged lightly almost as if she was at a loss really. "I'm just...not used to it really. Dating for me usually hasn't been this...engaged, really. I mean, not that I don't appreciate what you do or anything and I can see how that logic does work, less work more dates, it's just as I said before, a little foreign to me." Okay...babbling Jelena, babbling.

Shaking her head she stopped that end of babbling. "Either he's having a really good day with the Echoes or he's playing supervisor like his job description says." True, Eric was supposed to supervise techs and he wasn't required to work close to the Echoes. Secretly he liked them and wanted to be close...he just wasn't a good animal person. "Or he knocked off early. He does that sometimes."

She was slightly fidgety,leaning back with her hands gripped to the edge of the desk to keep them still. Oh how she just wanted to go mess up what he was fixing. Figured she was dating one of the organized people...opposites attracted. But she was glad for it really that he was going through the trouble, showed that he cared really. It was sweet.

Though a little odd look at his question and she raised a hand to scratch at her hair slightly in thought. "Oh...about two and a half years now. I mean, sure I've had regular protocol psych evaluations before then, but I didn't really start seeing her until then." Wait...was this going to go personal question route? Uh oh...

Lo and behold that went a place she didn't want to go. And she suddenly got quiet, appearing and giving the air of being quiet withdrawn, her eyes going down to study her now oh so fascinating boots. My my, weren't they fascinating indeed? Yes yes they were. Most so. She never was good at stalling things.

"I..." Oh good lord...still hard to even talk about it. "It probably didn't make the news because it didn't go right. Or it did and no one cared enough to make it into a big story." A slight shrug to pretend she was okay, but obviously so, she wasn't. "It happened while I was on Earth, still living with my parents...right after I got approval to get a Fleet spot. Needless to say...a lot of people didn't approve and well...it caused trouble." All said in a rather disturbing monotone voice. There was a reason for this, being to detach herself from it so she wouldn't have the urge to cry. Another being she was thinking on how much she really wanted to tell him.
