At my school, I'm the only oboe and my BD has me sit with the flutes...I basicly am a flute because I can challenge the flutes and stuff! I'm the 4th chair flute but that's just because my BD doesn't want an oboe any higher in the flute section... sweatdrop ...We have 6 flutes and only 3 can really play so I'm ahead of the last three to modivate them...mind if I hang out here untill the double-reed section gets fixed?

well, oboe and flute parts are often identical, er, at an octave difference, maybe.

We had an oboe first semester, but then we lost her. sweatdrop Oh well. I think....I KNOW we're getting one next year. And he's good...from my middle school yay.

YAY! Go flutes! smile I play the flute too in band.
Flute and oboe parts are really similar, so sometimes the band director gives the second flutes the oboe part.

yeah...our parts are similar but the oboes never have any fun parts! I don't think I've ever played oboe music with 16th notes in it! That's why I like to play flute music sometimes! So fun

Flute and piccolo heart
Our oboe player has such a big head gonk He got first chair region, then went on to state. He gets solos all the time. Then, at the end of the concert and he has to stand for the recognition blah blah blah, he waves.

Mori Kesumi yeah...our parts are similar but the oboes never have any fun parts! I don't think I've ever played oboe music with 16th notes in it! That's why I like to play flute music sometimes! So fun Flute is so quick and nimble ^ ^ I love that, even if it has so few keys compared to other stuff, it's pretty quick actioned
