"You promised you wouldn't drop me," a soaking-wet Jasper grumbled as he made his way out of the water. He carried an equally-wet but far-less angry Ditto in his arms as the two had since climbed out of the lake. Ditto had transformed into the most useful thing he could think of when they hit the water, and now he flailed about almost giddily in his trainer's arms, cunningly disguised as a happy, golden Magikarp. Their little fall hadn't gone completely unnoticed, and now more than a few of the citizens and passersby of Violet City had stopped to stare at the boy and his catch of the day. Jasper figured it was a good idea to just go along with it, and as he made his way to the Pokemon Center, brushing aside comments directed to his oddly coloured fish.

Ditto never stopped wriggling and laughing, even when the entered the lobby of the center, and Jasper let the trickster Pokemon flop to the floor. "Oops, you slipped," the boy said dully, but that only made the Magikarp laugh even harder, and the boy recalled it, mumbling to himself as he approached the front desk. He snatched up a tray and placed Ditto's Pokeball in it, along with Paras and the rest of his party. "Can you heal my Pokemon?" he asked, sliding it toward the nurse, who was looking at him with a curious expression - no doubt wondering why he was dripping water all over the otherwise clean and dry floor. "We just came from a gym battle."

"Yes, of course," she said with a slow nod, giving Jasper another once-over. "Was it an underwater gym battle?"

The boy forced a laugh, and shook his head. "Yeah, no. It was gym leader Falkner, yeah. It's a long story! Uh... Is there someplace I can get cleaned up?"

"Sure thing, hon. Showers are that way, and we also have laundry facilities. I'll take care of your Pokemon, and you go take care of yourself." She pointed toward a short hallway.

Jasper sighed with relief, and allowed himself to relax a little. "Oh, that's wonderful, thank you so much." With his Pokemon in good hands, Jasper followed the nurse's directions, quickly finding his intended destination. He was also currently alone, which allowed him to drop his guard some, and he quickly removed his wet clothes and slipped into a robe so that he could throw them all into the wash. He was overdue for laundry day anyway, so really, Ditto had done him a favor. Luckily he didn't have much in his bag either, so it didn't take long to dry everything out, though he did grumble a bit over his waterlogged PokeDex.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 27, 2013 10:35 am

Jasper took his sweet time in the shower, mostly to give his clothes a chance to finish the wash cycle. Donning the robe once more he quickly tossed everything into the dryer, making a mental note to pick up a spare change of clothes along the way. He also made up his mind to invest in waterproof bags to keep his more sensitive belongings in, just in case Ditto decided to deposit him in another large body of water sometime in the near future. He couldn't get over the flying thing, however, and he knew that with more practice, Ditto would be able to pull it off with minimal effort. Part of the Transform Pokemon's real powers was not only imitating his opponents, but being able to recall the various forms he could take and change into them with ease - call it a sort of muscle-memory, if you would.

'I need to study up on moves, as well,' Jasper thought as he retrieved his warm, fresh clothing from the dryer. Copying his foes was one thing, but waiting for most of the opposing Pokemon's moves to be revealed was too much of a time-waster. After dressing, repacking his bag and not bothering to comb his hair, Jasper tightened his bandanna and grinned at himself in the mirror, damp PokeDex in hand. It was time to reclaim the crew and figure out how he was going about drying the device out.

"Rice," the nurse said as Jasper was busy attaching his team's Pokeballs to his belt.

"Excuse me?"

"Rice," she repeated, looking somewhat amused. "Put your PokeDex in a bag of rice. It'll dry it out right quick. Believe me, hon, you're not the first to come in here, looking like something that the Meowth dragged in."

"Rice, eh?" Jasper scratched his chin. "Where would I get some?"

"The grocery store?"

"Right, gotcha." Jasper pretended like he hadn't just asked an incredibly stupid question as he slung his bag over his shoulder. "Thanks, I'll be getting lost now."

Dante woke up to the cries or Wingull and Peliper outside of his window of the s**t that was currently taking him back into Hoenn. Yawning the auburn haired teen got up and ran a hand through his now, very irritating, longer hair. "Shower and breakfast." He muttered as he stumbled through the small room and into the small bathroom that he apparently, was sharing with the room next door. After some mild confusion in running into the trainer from the room right over who was just stepping out of the room. The encounter involved a lot of embarrassment and blushing from the other as Dante just stared at them for a moment before turning to the sink and getting his toothbrush out, after growing up with his mom seeing people in all sorts of states of undress did not bother him in the least. He almost laughed as the other fumbled to wrap themselves in a towel and scurry out of the room. Spitting in the sink he headed to the now vacant shower and cleaned himself off.

When he was all cleaned up Dante changed into the only other set of clothing he had on him, the nicer outfit they got him for the pokemon contest. Shrugging into the coat he grabbed his bag and skipped out of the room. Now that he was clean, man had it really been so long since he took a shower? Laughing to himself he followed the ever helpful signs to the dining room. Inside a bunch of sleepy trainers were either feeding their pokemon and making some light conversation.

Knowing that he was a disaster waiting to happen, well he wasn't but Kali wasn't exactly people friendly. Dante picked a table away from the others. Dumping his stuff on a table, he retrieved Kali's chewed up pokefood bowl he had stolen from the pokemon center before heading over and getting in line. He waited a few moments before he had breakfast for both him, the little monster and something for Kenny to, even if he wasn't quite sure how the ghost type would eat. Setting Kali's dish on the floor he placed his and Kenny's on the table. "Please don't kill anyone." Dante muttered as he released Kenny, who he wasn't too worried about, and Kali, whom he was very worried about.

It turned out Dante didn't need to worry too much, as much as Kali must hate everything she seemed to like to eat. Leaning back in his chair Dante took a long sip of coffee to help wake him while he munched on whatever it was he had grabbed to eat. Kali herself was scarfing down food at a speed Dante was sure that would make anyone sick at. She must be pretty hungry after that battle the other day. Then again she was a growing pokemon, and a dragon type at that, they were known for being difficult to raise. Which is probably why Dante was starting to have serious doubts about being able to train her right, or at least not let her bite to many strangers. Glancing over to his ghost type Dante watched as he picked the food up and it just kind of... disappeared. "You’re weird." Dante muttered to the ghost before going back to watching Kali. The trio just enjoyed eating the rest of their meal in silence watching the other trainers pass, or in Kali’s case just enjoyed chewing on her bowl some more, in a moment of pity and bravery, Dante wrestled the bowl away from her and went to refill it. He was pretty amazed he came away from that conflict without being bitten, the Deino was pretty happy to get more food though so it wasn’t all bad.

Soon the horn sounded signaling that they were entering Dewford and would be docking soon. A lot of trainers seemed to be getting pretty anxious and seemed to be itching for a battle. While most had probably slept through the night avoiding the battle scene it seemed like it was coming back in full force. Dante chuckled as a few fights almost broke out in the dining room. He figured the island would be covered in pokemon battles, it would be a perfect time to slip through them and make his way to the small ferry that would take him to the mainland. Quickly recalling his pokemon as he noticed some trainers were starting to give him looks, he packed up his stuff and headed above deck. It was time to get off this boat, and then promptly get onto a smaller boat.

Kasiya lagged a bit behind Mike as they joined Hayley and Riza outside, and she didn't say a word as no surprise, Mike was the first to show off his Pokemon. The blonde's eyes seemed to sparkle as each Pokemon was released, and her happy reactions to seeing them left no doubt that she was probably as fond of her boyfriend's Pokemon as she was of her own. Even she was a little surprised at just how excited she was to see Shiver, eagerly calling out the Cloyster's name and waving excitedly at him. She had been there when he was first captured, after all, and she hadn't seen him in a while, either. Yep, Mike has quite an amazing group of Pokemon, she thought proudly, now looking on with curiosity as Riza took her turn.

She had seen Riza's Weavile and Gardevoir on TV, performing in the Cerulean Contest, but they were even more impressive in person. She nodded along with Hayley's assessments, though she was unable to hold back her scowl when she saw the familiar Crawdaunt and... what was this? Riza had a Dragonair, too? Inwardly the blonde growled - she'd experienced a few rather rotten battles with the Dragon-type before, so she didn't have many pleasant memories of them. Eris the Quilava was just as cute and energetic as she remembered, and she wasn't surprised when she darted over to check out Felsic. The little green thing was just as cute as Kasiya remembered it - Snivy! That's the name - and she was certain the little Grass-type already looked a lot tougher than when she first hatched. Riza's pretty good at this, she thought, giving Riza an approving nod (even if she did have a huge dislike for two of her Pokemon). Her urge to battle still hadn't been quelled, however, and she quietly wondered if she could get Riza to change her mind - a friendly battle with the dark-haired girl would be a nice change.

For now, however, it was Hayley's turn, and the blonde couldn't help but smile like a huge dork as the brunette's Charmeleon was revealed. He was quite protective of his trainer, too, an admirable trait in a Pokemon. Hayley also had a sweet little Rattata and Nidoran, and once again her eyes lit up as she saw the Pikachu - one could only guess as to why she had such a fondness for the little yellow mouse. The second Snivy, however, caused her to raise an eyebrow and she looked back and forth between the two Grass-types. Maybe she was missing something but she couldn't tell that the two had identical tails, not with them moving around and such. "Your party's great, Hayley!" she said, nodding once again in approval. "And everyone's gotta start somewhere, so don't feel bad! And yes, you can call me Kassie," she added with a giggle.

Finally, it was the moment of truth (or something like it). Kasiya took a deep breath, looking down at the assortment of Pokeballs in her arms. When had she captured so many? She honestly didn't know, but she adored each and every one of them. She flopped down onto the ground in a sitting position, depositing the spheres in her lap. "Okay, here we go!" The blonde's eyes were wide with adoration as she started to let her Pokemon out, two by two. "Ariel and Hiro! Seto and Fang! Twilight and Flash! Rosemary and Leviathan! Casimir and Nova! Zaira and Alphonse! And last but not least, Pepper and Shocker!" She had specifically left the Raichu for last, namely because she wanted to see the shocked ((lame pun is lame)) look on Riza's face when the electric mouse made her appearance. "I also have a Tyranitar, Sandslash and Ariados, but they're not very sociable. Ooh, and also a Duskull! And I'm currently, uh...borrowing a Flygon. He's a real sweetie, too!"
=-=-=-=-=

Erika's laughter at the display between the two young Pokemon was brief, as Omelette had managed to somewhat recover enough to unleash an interesting Water Gun. Cherubi squeaked, more out of surprise than pain and it hobbled back, shaking the water droplets from its body.

"Cherubi, it's time for another Tackle," the Gym Leader said, regaining her composure after the small fit of laughter. Tickle might have been a rather unorthodox move to use, but it did tend to cause the intended target to drop its guard a little. The Cherry Pokemon looked rather determined as it charged at the Azurill, ready to hand out a little payback for the unwanted shower it had just received from Omelette.

Still feeling very uneasy with the whole situation, Karrigan looked back at Lennier, who simply nodded. The redhead exhaled slowly, glancing over at the green-haired girl and quietly wondering how she was able to look so together. Karrigan was sure that if she'd gone through something like that, she'd be a royal mess. The Kadabra nodded again when Miharu offered to give she and Damien some training advice. "She has earned six of eight required badges to enter the Johto League," the Psychic-type politely informed her. She wasn't at all surprised to see Damien's Gastly and Drowzee join them, but she didn't recognize the odd little Mushroom Pokemon he'd sent out as well. Once her PokeDex had identified it as a Shroomish, training began.

Some time and a few visits to the infirmary later, the sounding of the ship's horn, followed by an announcement over the PA system stating that they were about to arrive at the Castelia City docks. Karrigan looked at her new companions as she recalled her party into their Pokeballs, Miharu specifically. They'd also managed to get quite a bit of chitchat going (well, the two girls mostly with Damien interjecting now and then), and she liked to think they had gotten to know each other fairly well. Miharu also proved to be as helpful as she said she was, and Karrigan was sure all her Pokemon had benefited from the extensive training session. "What are you going to do now?" she asked the girl as they headed for the boarding ramp. "Are you going to go back home to Johto?"

Mike's smug grin grew wider with each word of praise thrown his way. "Thank you!" he said to Riza. "We've been through a lot together. I don't know what I'd do without them." He planted a little kiss on Titanium's forehead, wrapping his arms around him as much as he could. He loved his towering monstrosity oh so much. Hayley was clearly excited to see Nitro most of all, something that Mike didn't find too surprising. Charizard were damn near the coolest things around after all. Nitro beamed at the compliments from the little girl. He liked her already!

When it came time for the girl's to release their Pokemon, Mike felt an overwhelming rush of nostalgia. Seeing Riza's Gardevoir reminded him of Karri, and her Dragonair made him wonder how Nina was faring. The rest of her Pokemon looked quite formidable. "I see you have a Crawduant too." the boy said with a nod. "Don't fall in love now, Xanthos." The lobster snorted. A squeak that could only be compared to that of a pre-teen girl at a boy band concert escaped him as he saw a precious little Quilava nimbly rush over to take a closer look at Felsic. Mike lightly slapped the side of Titanium's face to lower him, and as the two Pokemon became acquainted with each other, the boy couldn't help but gush. "Riza! She's beautiful!" Resisting every urge to pick the Quilava up and squeeze it until smoke puffed out, Mike kept a respectable distance as he inspected her. "Her top pores are so defined! See how the ones on her tail are beginning to shrink? She must be close to evolving!" You could almost see the hearts float up as he swooned, his mind filled with memories of Felsic as a little Quilava getting into all sorts of trouble. Felsic frowned at all the attention that wasn't directed towards him, and pressed his head against his trainer's face in a type of jealous nuzzling. "Oh hush you!" Mike said, giggling and smushing the Typhlosion's cheeks. "You know I love you." Validated, Felsic lowered down to sniff the little Quilava, giving her an approving nudge.

The release of Hayley's Pokemon gave Mike another chance to flex his knowledge on Fire Pokemon. "Your Charmeleon just evolved, didn't he?" Mike said with a knowing smirk. "His crest doesn't protrude as much, and I can see from here his back is completely smooth." Once again, he thought of his Pokemon at that stage. This time it was little Nitro, the Pokenav stealing, wing-obsessed Charmeleon. "You can't go wrong with one of them." Mike said, smiling warmly at Nitro. "And the rest of them, both of you. Well done!" The details of the two Snivy flew right over the boy's head. He knew just about everything there was to know about Fire Pokemon, but when it came to other types, he had plenty to learn. "Oh! And I have a Kecleon, an Omanyte, a Litwick, and I just caught a Shuppet!"

Still enclosed in his shell, Shiver hopped over to the very familiar sound of Kasiya's voice, and peeked through, flashing his species trademark smile. It was always a pleasure to see her, and the Cloyster was glad to see they were still traveling together.

Mike felt a rush of pride as Kasiya proved the phrase of 'saving the best for last'. While he was very familiar with the bulk of his girlfriend's team, it was still very nice to see them all at once. He smiled as Shocker was set free, both happy to see her back, and at how much he knew it meant to Kasi. Nitro made his way over to greet Ariel and Shocker, making sure to lovingly (as only a big brother could) harass Nova. With an alarming and unsurprising amount of subtlety, Beacon ran, tripped, ran and tripped again over to Shocker, bowling the Raichu over in his own demented show of affection. "Oh!" Mike pulled out the disc he bought back in Hoenn. "Before I forget! This is for you, P.B."

Oh? The Breloom replied, intrigued. For me? Why thank you, master. A smile curled the end of Portabello's beak as Mike placed the device to his head.

"And this will replace Sludge Bomb! This is a much more fitting move for you anyway." Portabello looked up to his master with nothing short of immense gratitude after absorbing the knowledge of the attack into his memory as the old one was pushed out. He had always despised that defiling move. "No need to thank me." Mike said with a smile. "You've earned it ten times over and more." He leaned down and wrapped his arms around Portabello. "I don't know where I would be if you weren't here."

It is my pleasure, master. The Breloom replied, happily returning the gesture.

Following the little moment, Mike stood back up and turned to his company, chuckling at the mass of Pokemon before him. "To answer your question from earlier, Hayley, we are here so I can do some research at the museum so I can learn more about my Omanyte. Plus a few more Kanto badges wouldn't hurt if I just so happened to come across any." he winked at Kasiya. "Gotta keep some people on their toes, after all."

Feeling a little bit confident over his Pokemon's last performance and the purchase of a brand new map card, Ben started making his way back to the PokeCenter to grab a bite to eat. Pichu had done really well aiming his Thundershocks, and Pidgey hung in there like the tough Pokemon Ben knew him to be even against the stronger Poliwag he'd been paired against. They were both getting better, but he knew he still had to get stronger before he tried taking on the Gym Leader. The only thing was, the Pokemon out in the fields around the city weren't very strong, and didn't offer his Pokemon very good training anymore.. He had to think of a different plan.

Just as he was about to enter the Pokemon Center, he was caught off guard and bumped straight into an exiting Trainer, some kid with a green bandana that looked a good bit older than he was. Smiling a bit sheepishly, he scratched the back of his head and lowered his eyes. "I-I'm really sorry.. I wasn't looking where I was going... Are you okay?"

The day felt as if it had just started, but it was already past noon. A problem because Kressen was feeling tired and no doubt the two who had just battled where too. So a trip to the pokemon center was in order to get everyone back up to full strength. "All right guys take a breather. I'll get you to the pokemon Center and we'll get some lunch there."

He recalled the rest of the team and got dressed in his normal clothes once more. He had spotted the center on his way through town and sort of remembered where it was. Of course he simply asked directions after five minutes of searching. He had been in the right area at least.

Just outside the center in a small field of grass young trainers were battling away with nurse Joy watching from in the center. "Perhaps we'll join in the fun after the check up." He placed his pokeballs onto a tray for her and simply sat down to wait.

'Okay, rice. Got it. But how much rice? Like a cup? Two cups? Do I have to cook it first? No, that'd be stupid. Just get some rice, open the bag, dump the 'Dex inside, and-' Jasper was very literally jolted out of his rampant thoughts as he moved to step outside, finding himself bumping into by another trainer. The waterlogged PokeDex slipped out of his hand, an after a few amusing seconds of one-handed juggling, the device was clutched firmly against the boy's chest.

Breathing a sigh of relief, he turned to the younger boy, easy to see that he seemed quite embarrassed by the minor collision. "Hey, it's all good," he said, giving the kid a reassuring grin. "No harm, no foul. I'm all right. And besides, I wasn't really paying attention either, so I guess we're both equally to blame."

((It's fine; I knew you were waiting. smile ))

Like Mike, it was hard for Riza not to grin from all the praise her Pokemon were receiving. Not surprisingly her more showy Pokemon (namely Akima and Eris) looked especially pleased, and Eris even stopped her investigation of Felsic to look up at the boy as he gushed over her. She twisted around to look at her back end, not entirely sure what he meant by shrinking, but she knew what evolving meant! Looking up at the mighty Typhlosion, Eris attempted to stand on her hind legs, wobbling humorously for a moment or so before she got her balance. There! She could do it too! The feisty little Quilava jabbed the air a few times with her front paws, her flames all flaring up as she did so, but it came with the loss of balance and she toppled over backwards. Riza, meanwhile, beamed at the thought of little Eris evolving again. "She is from good breeding, Hayley," she said, nodding proudly. "She was given to me at the Breeder's Gala by Keegan's parents. He put in a good word for me and they just gave her to me! Isn't that just the coolest thing?" Eris stopped being silly for a moment and wandered back over to her trainer's side, rubbing against her legs like a kitten would.

Riza raised an eyebrow as Hayley released a Charmeleon of her own. There sure seemed to be a lot of those things around lately, but judging by Nitro's impressive presence, it wasn't hard to see why. The Rattata was less impressive, but it was still quite cute regardless, as was the little blue mousey thing that Riza had to look up in her pokedex. Hayley's Pikachu was also very cute, and Riza found herself smiling and not at all surprised that so many of the brunette's Pokemon were of the adorable variety. Even Cynder had been a Charmander once, and apparently pretty recently, according to Mike's assessment of him. She had to blink and do a double take when she saw Ivy, however, but once the realization settled in she couldn't help but laugh. No wonder Hayley had sketches of a Snivy in her book. "Identical? Sisters? I don't know," the raven haired girl admitted, also not seeing the things Hayley saw. Selena, on the other hand, seemed to sense some sort of kinship with Ivy and immediately went over to say hello. Their mannerisms were similar though, and Riza pursed her lips. "Where did you get Ivy?" she asked, giving Kasiya a knowing look. If Hayley had received the Snivy in a magically appearing egg, then she wouldn't doubt for a second that the two were sisters.

It was Kasiya's turn to be the class showoff, however, and Riza turned to look at her as she released her Pokemon in pairs. Riza's pokedex was getting quite a workout today though, and as she watched each Pokemon appear, both her respect and envy of the blonde seemed to grow at a matched pace. Every one of Kasiya's Pokemon was nothing short of impressive, even the obviously younger ones like the adorable little Piplup and her Minccino, which was just as cute as the day she'd hatched. Nothing could have prepared her for the moment that Shocker was released, however, and after a moment of standing there with her mouth hanging open, it switched to a smirk, and she gave Kasiya an approving nod that easily said "well played". 'So she must have gone and gotten her back after all," she thought, unable to hold back a laugh as Mike's Ampharos bowled the little Raichu over. The amount of Pokemon all around them was nothing short of impressive, however, and Riza was sure that anyone who happened upon them might think they were assembling some sort of army.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 28, 2013 2:34 pm

For Ivy, it generally wasn't easy to impress her with anything, but when the other Snivy came over to greet her, she was rendered speechless. Glancing from her trainer to Selena, Ivy had little doubt that this fellow Snivy was her flesh and blood. She returned Selena's greeting excitedly and the two hit it off almost immediately. "Where? I don't actually know that... for certain," Hayley shrugged, recalling how the egg had magically appeared in her arms out of nowhere. "She just sort of showed up, I guess? I don't know how to explain it!" Kaylee, meanwhile, watched the two Snivy with an obvious look of disgust - not another one of those blasted things! The mouse's attention was diverted, however, as she was introduced to her evolved form, and she would have gone over to investigate further had the Raichu not been on the receiving end of an overly-eager Ampharos' affections.

"You're right!" Hayley beamed in response to Mike's assessment. "He just evolved this morning!" She crouched down and hugged her Charmeleon, though Cynder was too busy trying to look at his back to figure out what it was the boy was talking about. Hayley, however, logged the information she'd just learned about the Charmeleon and Quilava in her brain, and she glanced over at the Charizard and elder Charmeleon. "What about Nova?" she asked curiously as Cynder considered going over to mingle with his kin. "Will she be sprouting wings any time soon?"

The brunette's sketchbook had made another appearance and she began to pencil out some quick sketches, chattering away as she did so. She mentioned how beautiful Ariel's fins were, and how soft and shiny Hiro's fur was. She probably could have written an entire thesis paper on the green Crobat, and she eagerly showed off the sketch she'd done of Seto some time ago, back at Professor Oak's lab. Needless to say, she was utterly thrilled to meet the Persian's trainer in person, and she was more than impressed by all the Pokemon she'd met today. Some were rarer than others, but she could tell that they were all happy, healthy and very well taken care of. She was also quite glad to see that her Pokemon were getting some interaction with others, and she knew that even if she didn't get to the Pewter Gym, it would still have been an excellent day.

Even though the Cherubi's previous efforts caused Omelette's rock-hard defenses to be lowered slightly, the little sprout's attack had been lowered even more by the Azurill's inescapable charm. Even so, Omelette took the hit like a champ, only screaming for five seconds this time. "Come on, Omelette!" Sasha cheered. "I know you can do it. Toughen up!" The pink-haired girl pumped her fists in the air, trying to boost the little Pokemon's morale in any way she could.

Omelette pouted. Toughen up? How could she...? Suddenly, a thought sparked in her head. Not so much a thought, but a feeling, a sensation really. Somehow, she knew what needed to be done. The Aruzill looked back at her trainer, her eyes filled with true purpose for the first time since hatching. "Omelette..." Sasha looked on as the little Pokemon let out a squeak before bursting into a shower of light. In a few moments, Omelette was no longer the battle-born, arm-less wonder she used to be, but was now an oddly muscular looking Marill.

"Rill!" grunted the mouse, sporting an equally odd, exceedingly masculine voice.

"Um. What?"

"Yeah, I guess you're right.." Smiling small, Ben nodded and straightened up a bit, noting the number of Pokeballs that he had on his belt, his eyes widening slightly. Ben only had two, so this guy must have a lot more experience as a Trainer than he did. Out of curiosity, he tilted his head and posed a question. "So, you seem like a pretty capable Trainer, have you challenged the Gym here, yet? How did it go?" If he was right, this guy might just be what he was looking for in regards to getting his Pokemon some better training. Then again, this Trainer did look like he was in a bit of a hurry.. 'I probably shouldn't be bugging him,' Ben thought.

The kid seemed to perk up pretty quickly after Jasper spoke up, and he didn't miss the look on his face as he eyed the Pokeballs attached to his belt. He looked sort of... impressed? That would be a new one for Jasper. "Capable?" he repeated, shrugging a bit. "Yeah, I guess so." He was a little unsure of how well he liked using that word to describe himself. He wasn't prepared for the kid's next two questions, though, and he found himself a bit lost for words. "I just came from there, actually," he said finally, scratching the back of his head. "It went... well, it went okay, I suppose. I won," he said, nodding. "Which is the important part. That Falkner guy's kind of a stick in the mud, but he's no pushover." He paused, giving the younger boy a once-over. "What about you, kiddo? Planning on taking on the gym?"

Kasiya really wasn't that surprised to see Mike completely swoon over Riza's Quilava and Hayley's Charmeleon, and she too remembered just how evolution-crazy Nitro had been before the big moment finally happened. Out of curiosity, however, she did crane her neck to take a look at Nova as Hayley asked about her, which wasn't easy as Nova was currently being tormented by her loving big brother, but to Kasiya, the Charmeleon's back still looked pretty smooth. All in good time, she thought, picking up Alphonse as the Piplup had been crying and smacking her legs with his tiny flippers for the past minute, clearly jealous of the attention he was currently not receiving. The Penguin Pokemon calmed down right quick as his trainer planted a kiss on his downy-soft head, though, as she now listened as Riza explained where she'd gotten Eris from, looking to Mike as she mentioned Keegan's parents and the gala. Kasiya had no doubt in her mind now that Eris would grow up to be an amazing Typhlosion.

When Hayley mentioned the possibility of the two Snivy being sisters, however, Kasiya thought nothing of it, at least until she saw the strange look Riza gave her. She really didn't understand just what it meant until Hayley sort-of described how Ivy had just... showed up. Without meaning to, her gaze had fallen on Pepper, who had decided that Titanium's body was just too dirty for her liking and was trying to scrub the massive Steelix clean, which was no small task in itself. Kasiya opened her mouth to say something but stopped, looking back at Riza and giving her head a very slight shake. She'd already helped to perpetuate the lie about Pumpkin at Karen's insistence by accidentally dragging her Minccino into it, but she really wasn't sure how she'd explain a pair of sister Snivy to Keegan.

Kasiya wasn't at all surprised to see Beacon hone in on Shocker like a large, yellow missile, and even as the Ampharos tripped over himself to get to the Raichu, Kasiya's amused laughter prevented any sort of warning from getting to the Raichu. Ariel had about a half second to pivot out of the way, and the Vaporeon looked on in confusion as Beacon sort of half-bowled over, half-belly-flopped onto the poor mouse. Shocker's cry of surprise was muffled beneath the Ampharos' weight, and it took a lot of wriggling for the Pokemon to escape. Shocker glared at the demented Pokemon before scrambling up and onto her trainer's shoulder, completely ignoring the heated shrieks coming from the still-jealous Alphonse. She could handle the Piplup, sure, but being crushed by Beacon again wasn't something she wanted to do any time soon. Kasiya also hadn't missed the look that Riza shot her way upon seeing Shocker, and all she could do was grin right back at her. She decided to forgive and forget the comment from yesterday, and she couldn't help but wonder if someday she and the dark-haired girl could become friends.

The little Cherubi tottered back after having delivered its Tackle, looking somewhat pleased with itself. Erika wagered it had good reason to be, as it was young and already looking pretty good out there. The same couldn't really be said for the Azurill, though the little darling was trying. Erika had been about to call across the field to Sasha for them to take a break for little Omelette's sake when the tiny Normal-type began to shine bright, like a star. Could it be? It was! Omelette was no longer a tiny Azurill, but a mature(r)-looking Marill.

"Oh, Sasha! Congra-" Erika's word was cut short by the masculine-sounding voice coming from the once female Pokemon. "-tulations?"

Ben nodded once, grinning with a confident twinkle in his eyes. "Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. I won't leave this city without a Badge." His smile turned a bit bashful as he scratched his head slightly. "But, you see.. The thing is, my Pokemon are getting too strong for the ones around here, so training against them isn't that effective anymore... But, they still aren't strong enough to take on the Gym Leader. So I was looking for an alternative training method..."

((Mod edit: Don't quote! Jasper knows you're interacting with him. smile ))
