Keegan quirked an eyebrow and looked over at Sasha, who was mumbling to herself and seemed like she was lost in a dreamy little world of her own. "Oookay," he muttered, dipping his free hand into his pocket to pull another cigarette. Funny how I seem to smoking more when I'm around these girls, he thought with a chuckle, fixing his gaze forward as they followed the trainers to the battling square they'd been talking about. There were quite a few people gathered around what seemed to be a battle. There was a familiar, almost metallic-sounding screeching coming from the group of people, and he looked up, also seeing the Skarmory circling the skies above. "Heh," he chortled, lighting his smoke now that Sasha had freed up his other arm, "mine's better." He was slightly annoyed by the fact that he couldn't see what Pokemon the Skarmory was battling, but that issue would soon be remedied. Like a goddess, Sasha parted the crowd, and the redhead was unable to hide his smirk as he followed after. "You are something else," he chuckled once he'd caught up to her.
Now that they had front row seats to the battle, it was easy to see that the Skarmory was facing off against a Scizor, but Keegan couldn't tell which of the two Pokemon currently had the upper hand. He enjoyed a drag from his cigarette and scoffed. "We could take these punks," he chuckled, shaking his head. ===== Sydney seemed to be reconsidering her attacks after witnessing Tingle's somewhat-crafty deflection of her Marshtomp's Mud Shot, and while Miharu figured it was luck, Sydney didn't know the Metang well enough to know otherwise. She eyed the two Pokemon carefully, figuring the Metang was the bigger threat. "Growlithe, Flamethrower on Metang!" she called. "Marshtomp, use Water Gun on Pidgeotto!"
Both Sydney's Pokemon were well-trained, and each were quick to execute their attacks. The Marshtomp reared back and fired off a strong jet of water at Aska, while the Growlithe dug in its heels and unleashed a blast of fire, which was aimed directly at Tingle. "Both of you, right now, dodge!" Miharu called. Both Tingle and Aska didn't question it, and they crisscrossed out of the way, the fire and water type attacks both missing their targets. "Aska, use Sand-Attack," Miharu shouted. "And Tingle, Scary Face - the Growlithe!" The two Pokemon recovered quickly from their evasive tactics, and within seconds the Bird Pokemon was swooping down in front of her target whilst kicking up a large cloud of sand. The Puppy Pokemon whimpered as his eyes were violated by multiple particles of sand, and he wiped at his eyes with his paws, only to get a clear view of the terrifying face Tingle was now making only inches from him. The Growlithe yelped again and shivered, suddenly feeling chilled and sluggish to go with his stinging eyes.

Kasiya wasn't sure what Kilik's plans were now as she bid him farewell and headed out of the Laboratory, but not before making sure Rowan had her PokeNav number in case he needed her for something. After all, he'd taken a big risk in giving Alphonse to her, and now she felt like she owed him. The Piplup walked along behind her as she hit the streets of Sandgem, stopping to look at almost everything as he went along. He'd never been outside the lab's grounds before, so everything around him was shiny and new. In front of him, his new trainer had taken a strange device out of her pocket and was examining it as she walked, hoping to locate Sandgem Town's Pokemon Center. She hadn't fully thought this expedition to get her Piplup through, and she was now carrying seven Pokemon with her, which was very much against the rules. It didn't take long for her to find the center, however, and as she and Alphonse stepped through the sliding doors, she couldn't help but hope she'd find Mitsu inside. She did disappear so suddenly, I hope she's all right, she thought, feeling a pang of worry for her friend. Mitsu seemed very different lately; almost distant, and it made Kasiya feel very uneasy, but as she looked around, she didn't see the purple-haired girl anywhere.
None of her Pokemon needed any healing right now, so she made her way over to the PCs in the corner and sat down. Al hopped up onto a chair next to her, very curious as to what she was doing now. The girl's fingers moved swiftly over the keyboard as she typed in her username and password, but once she'd initiated the Pokemon exchange system, she sighed and leaned back in her chair. It occurred to her that she didn't know which of her Pokemon she should swap out to make room for her new addition, and the decision was a lot harder than she thought it would be. Eventually she did come to decide who to send back, and while she was at it she even made an additional exchange, making her team a regular six again. She also swapped a couple of her items out of the item storage system. Be good for Professor Oak, Flash and Digger, she thought, still feeling sad that she couldn't bring all her Pokemon with her at once.
She logged off and grabbed her bag, motioning for Alphonse to follower her as she headed back outside. Just north of the Pokemon Center was the entrance to route 202, and both she and Alphonse quickly left the city. I hope Sasha's not too mad at me, she thought as she walked, though they only went far enough to reach where the tall grass started. Kasiya plopped down on the ground and opened her bag. "You know what, Al?" she asked as she dug through it, looking for one of the items she'd just withdrew from the PC, "there are perks to getting a trainer who isn't a rookie. Aha, there it is!" she held up one of two glittering blue discs, and held it out for the Piplup to see. "This will teach you how to use Water Pulse. I also have the HM for Surf in here, but I want you to get some battle experience before I teach you that one." Intrigued, Alphonse drew a little closer, wondering what his new trainer was up to. Kasiya held out the disc and touched it to his forehead, and the Piplup closed his eyes. His mind filled with images of water, and how to form it into an attack move. His little beak curled up into a grin. Yes, he could get used to this whole having a trainer thing!
=-=-=-=-= Another Swords Dance, Jaeshan thought worriedly, knowing now that moves like Razor Leaf and Vine Whip would be dangerous now, even with Metang's resistance to Grass-type moves. Well, we gotta keep trying, there's no way I'm giving up! Gritting his teeth, Jaeshan took a step forward. "Metang, Confusion!" he called, hoping that using special moves would be easier for Metang than physical ones.
The Metang was struggling against the paralysis that threatened to drop him to the ground like a rock, but somehow he managed to find a way to generate the psychic attack. Like last time, he concentrated the energy into a blast-like attack, instead of trying to take hold of the Victreebel.
=-=-=-=-= "Brace yourself, Victreebel," Erika said lightly, knowing that there was little she could do to protect against the psychic attack. The Flycatcher Pokemon shrieked as his body was slammed a second time by a fairly-strong Confusion, though he really felt this one. That Metang was stronger than it looked. "Are you all right?" Erika asked, and the Grass and Poison-type nodded, to the best of its ability. "Alright, then. Let's give your Razor Leaf a try!"
Another loud screech escaped the mouth of the Flycatcher Pokemon as it leaned forward, slashing the air with both of its large leaves, sending two near-identical leaves whizzing through the air at the silvery and gold target.

"Ok Mittens lets use your Fake Out!" Evan ordered trying to fill his voice with confidence that seemed to come naturally to Robin now. The catty pokemon nodded and bouncing back on its tail some it sprang forward aimed directly at Raz and knocked the Yanma down to the ground.
Robin was all to aware of what Fake Out did seeing as she and Luffy frequently took advantage of it. "Nice work there with the Fake Out. Raz try to get up as soon as you can!" Raz looked up from his place on the ground as his body glowed with its speed boost, not that it was really helping him at the moment.
"Really! I mean, of course it was Mittens is good at everything she does!" Evan still seemed really happy at Robin's complement. Evan still was a rookie and forgot to take advantage of the flinch that Fake Out caused as Raz took off back into the air. "Oh darn! Um I won't forget that again! OK Mittens lets try to use your Scratch attack." The small cat pokemon nodded a serious look on its face as it braced itself on the ground before launching itself up at Yanma.
"Raz dodge that Scratch attack." Robin might have ordered a follow attack if this wasn't a training battle. Raz just nodded and lazily dodged the scratch attack. Maybe it was the speed boosts but the faster he got the slower everything else seemed to be. Though there was also the fact that his opponent was pretty young and it was clear he was a lot stronger then the cat.

Sasha smiled at Keegan's comment. "Somez'hing else? Je suis divine." She turned around and put her hands on her waist as she waited for Keegan. Sasha frowned when she saw Keegan take out another cigarette, but decided against being overly confrontational about it. Instead she just sighed and rolled her eyes.
When Keegan got over to her, she turned to watch the fight. The two Steel Pokemon kept slamming into each other and making a really loud clang sound. "Ech." Sasha groaned. "Z'his fight better not take too long. C'est vraiment ennuyeux." The Skarmory circled above in an impressive display of speed (impressive for a flying hunk of metal at least) as the Scizor remained rooted to the floor. Each time the steel-bird swooped down to attack, the Scizor would hold his ground and block the hit, suffering little to no damage. The same happened whenever the bug would try to counterattack. Both of their metallic bodies offered too much protection; the battle was going to take forever. Sasha tapped her foot in anxiousness.
She looked at the two trainers. Nothing too special. One wore a bright red zip-up sweater and blue jeans, while the other had a blue beanie hat, blue vest and white cargo pants. Both looked as determined and steadfast as their Pokemon, neither said too much outside of their issued commands. They were like walls, but something in their eyes made it seem like they knew each other. They occasionally looked at each other to try to get a reading. Sasha let out a quick bit of breath from her nose. It was rare when watching the trainers was more interesting than the Pokemon.

Now that Alphonse had the fundamentals of his new technique, Kasiya figured it was time for some practice! After venturing down Route 202 for a bit, Kasiya found a good-sized boulder sitting off by itself in a grassy field, and she decided it would make for a good target for the Piplup to practice on. She'd recalled him back into his Pokeball, if anything just to make sure it was his, and she couldn't help but giggle at how happy he was to be sent out again, even if it had only been a few minutes. "Okay, are you ready to start practicing Water Pulse?" she asked, and Alphonse replied by planting both flippers firmly on his hips, puffing up his chest, and nodding. Of course he was ready; why was she asking him such a silly question? "See that rock over there? For now, you're only trying to hit it. We'll work more on power once you've got accuracy in check." Al nodded again, as it seemed logical to him. "Give it a try, Al! Water Pulse!" she called, pointing at the boulder.
The little Penguin seemed to focus for a moment, before he raised both flippers above his head, a small ball of water beginning to form. It didn't get much bigger than a small apple, but the Piplup sent it forward anyway, watching with wide eyes as it traveled in at least the general direction of his intended target.
Unfortunately, the general direction was about the only thing he had right, as the Water Pulse traversed maybe two thirds of the distance to its target before it fizzled out, sending water droplets splashing harmlessly onto the grass. Alphonse narrowed his eyes and annoyance and huffed before looking away. Kasiya tried not to giggle as she thought about having the Piplup move a little closer to his target, but before she could say another word Al had thrown his flippers up once again, and was concentrating hard in order to form the ball of water for the attack. "Don't worry about power and range just yet," Kasiya told him. "And don't be afraid to move if you're unsure of the distance." Alphonse chirped a bit to show that he'd heard his trainer's advice, but he didn't move a muscle, and instead lobbed the watery sphere forward once more. This time, the distance was there, but the Water Pulse missed the rock by a good six feet or so, and was a little high, to boot. Once again Alphonse huffed, but this time he looked at the ground, clearly frustrated.
=-=-=-=-= "Dodge, Metang!" Jaeshan called, even though he knew the request would be very difficult for the paralyzed Pokemon to do. Even still, Metang tried his hardest, floating upward and to the left of the oncoming leaves, but as his body was continually threatening to lock up on him, his movements just weren't quick enough and both razor-sharp leaves slashed into him for a surprising amount of damage. "Those Swords Dances really helped," Jaeshan murmured, not sure what to do now. While Metang had only taken two hits, both of them had been quite strong, and he didn't know how much more the Iron Claw Pokemon could take. "Let's try a Bullet Punch," he said finally.
Metang closed his eyes and focused, swinging his arm forward as he felt his body start to loosen up. He began to emit a humming noise as he sped forward, thrusting out his clawed hand in preparation to strike the Victreebel with the metallic punch.
=-=-=-=-= Erika frowned slightly as she watched the Metang take two solid hits from the Razor Leaves and falter slightly, and she looked away. "How disappointing," she whispered, slightly ashamed by her words as she wasn't usually judgmental of others, but this Pokemon hadn't put up much of a fight at all. She glanced across the battlefield at Jaeshan, hoping that this Pokemon wasn't going to be a trendsetter for his other two, but as she thought more about it, she realized that they didn't seem to be very in sync with each other. I bet they haven't been together for very long, she thought, watching as the Metang came forward for another attempted Bullet Punch.
"Victreebel, it's time to finish it," she said solemnly. "You know what to do." The Flycatcher Pokemon gave a quick nod, his screeching somewhat subdued as he jumped forward, lashing out with his, vine-like tail for another nicely-executed Sucker Punch.

There was a flash of blue and white light so bright Mike had to turn away. Blaine remained statuesque thanks to his sunglasses. After a few blinks, Mike looked back at the fight. Both Napalm and Blaine's Vulpix were tripping over themselves and falling over. Napalm caught his own foot with his tail and landed on his face. "Napalm, snap out of it!" Mike shouted, then pressed his lips together so he wouldn't laugh at his Pokemon's accident. Not nice. Shouldn't laugh. He's tryyyying so hard. He thought. "Try another Psychic!"
Napalm stumbled to his feet. His head felt really heavy all of the sudden. It was like a jug of water teetering back and forth. Whenever it would lean too much to the side, the water would flow to that side and weight it down, but when he would jerk his head to get himself balanced, the water would slam onto the other side and throw him off even more. Napalm wobbled back and forth for a few seconds before planting his feet, finally regaining balance. He put himself in his usual ready pose, or so he thought. His hands pointed in the opposite direction, and he wasn't even facing the Vulpix, but to him, that blurry red blob was definitely, without a single doubt, his target. "Magmarrr..." Napalm said in a low, certain tone.
"No, not that way! To your right!" Mike shouted.
"Mag?" Or, maybe it was just a rock. Napalm whirled around, his seemingly swelled head swaying back and forth. He looked for his mark, but couldn't find it. While Napalm was fumbling to get steady, the Vulpix was stealthily circling around him. Blaine had remained quiet, having practiced the strategy of fading into the background after confusing the enemy extensively with this particular Vulpix. Its padded paws masked its presence, but it took all of the fox Pokemon's focus not to trip over its own feet. While quiet, the Vulpix's posture was off, and its steps were awkward.
"Behind you!" Mike shouted, pointing to the Vulpix behind Napalm. Heat waves poured out of his mouth as his heart rate picked up. "Turn around! No, the other around!"
Mike's voice echoed in Napalm's head. Where was behind? Was it here? The Magmar turned to his left. Nothing. No wait, it's here! Napalm whipped around and came face to face with the Vulpix. Both Pokemon and trainers froze on the spot, waiting for the other to move. Mike stared into Blaine's frozen, stony gaze. It was impossible to read him, especially with his glasses and mustache covering his face. After what seemed like an hour of staring, Mike cracked under the pressure.
"Napalm!" He shouted. "Faint Attack!" "Vulpix! Payback!" "s**t!"
Napalm, focusing with all his might, raced forward and struck the Vulpix in the side with his claw. The fox whined in pain, but stood its ground. The Vulpix began to glow black, and retaliated with a full force headbutt to the Magmar's stomach. Napalm's eyes opened wide in pain, and smoke puffed out of his beak as the wind was knocked out of him. He stumbled back, holding his stomach with one hand.

After he left the Lab, Kasiya ran off towards Jubilife to meet back up with Keegan and Sasha. At least, so he assumed. Hands in his pockets and Chimchar on his shoulder, Kilik set due east towards the Pokemon Center. He knew that Mitsu was in good hands, with not only Nurse Joy, but Lucario as well. He faced a dilemma now, however and he paused, tapping his foot. "Do I go see her?" he wondered, "Or do I continue on towards Oreburgh, sending her texts via the Nav letting her know where I am and checking up on her? Last time she had a headache like that, it blew over rather quickly. With Lucario there..." he put his hands on his head and groaned. Being so close to girls was a real pain in the rear! How did Mike do it? At least, the old Mike. He managed to juggle Kasiya, Nina, and Mitsu all at the same time, making sure to make one happy without making another upset. Kilik didn't have a multi-girl problem - he had a 'girl and his own ambitions' problem.
"If I know Mitsu," he said aloud to nobody in particular, "She'd want me to keep going. She's strong! If she were on the brink of death, I suppose it'd be different...but those headaches come and go with her." Chimchar looked over at his trainer and shook his head. He just had to find out he was a softie AFTER deciding to go along with him. "Oh, Chimchar!" Kilik said, picking up the monkey and putting him on the ground. "I got a gift for you before I came here. Check this out!" He opened up the side bag he had around his waist and pulled out a brownish-red disc. The simian's eyes widened. His trainer thought ahead and got him something! Boy, maybe this guy wasn't so bad after all. He closed his eyes and clenched his fists, excited about whatever it was that he was getting. "This is called a TM, Chimchar. They can teach you moves that you otherwise wouldn't get to learn. Isn't that neat?" He laughed, examining the disc over and over, "Let's just hope you can learn it! I just grabbed it, figuring you could since you had fists and all."
Yeah yeah enough jibber-jabber! Chimchar grit his teeth together impatiently, opening one eye to look up at his trainer. Just give it to him! Kilik pressed the disc against the Fire-type's forehead and spun it, watching it float above Chimchar's eyes and slowly begin to 'upload' the attack. Slowly, the color began to fade away from the TM and eventually, the grayed out disc fell to the ground and shattered. Chimchar felt the attack going through him and could hardly contain himself. The moment the disc stopped, he jumped into the air and slammed his fist into the ground. "ChiiimCHAR!" he glared up at Kilik with a smirk. "Whoa now!" Kilik gulped, putting his hands up, "Settle down there, buddy." As he took a step back, he felt a hard thud into his back and he stumbled forward. "Wha-! I'm sorry!" he spun around.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" barked the blonde haired boy, "Or I'll fine you $1,000,000!"
"Where would a kid like me even get that kind of money?" Kilik snapped back, clenching his fists. He looked the boy over. That orange and white striped shirt was blinding. The boy wore a green scarf and tight blue jeans to compliment the shirt. Sinnoh must not have any fashion sense, he thought.
"Dunno! You could probably work it all off," the boy laughed, "by being my servant for all eternity! Hahahah!" He looked down at the Chimchar, tilting his head, "Say, you sure look like an angry fella! Betcha cause your trainer is so poor!"
"P-poor!?" Kilik growled, going for Cable's Pokeball, "I'll have you know that I've got seven badges! Four from Kanto, and three from Johto! I'm not a poor trainer!"
"Blah blah blah," the boy yawned, "Seven badges, from a connected League? I tell ya, that's just being wimpy! I could get the first four badges in Kanto, and the first four in Johto and qualify for the Indigo League! But that would be a waste of time and money. So are you gonna get outta my way or what?" he started pumping his legs up and down, jogging in place.
"What's the rush?" Kilik growled, looking down at Chimchar, "Why don't you and I have a battle, kid? I'll show ya just how 'poor' a trainer I am!" Chimchar hopped forward. This was it! His first battle!
"GgggrnnnOKAY!" the boy groaned, grabbing his single Pokeball from his belt and giving it a toss. "But just because you're in my way! And my name's not kid, it's Barry! Ready, Piplup? Yip-yip!" From the ball came the same kind of Pokemon Kasiya just received - a Piplup.
Kilik knew of his obvious disadvantage, but thanks to that great new technique he just taught Chimchar, he was ready to go. "Alright, Chimchar! Let's teach this guy a lesson!" Chimchar hopped forward, the flames on his tail growing brighter. He had no problem taking care of this Piplup - it wasn't his good friend that Kas took with her! Nope, this was going to be easy!

The Wurmple reared its head back and sent a String Shot attack at Ghos, entangling the Pokémon. Ghos' expression turned to exaggerated disgust, and he tried to shake the sticky string off of his body, but to little avail. "Will-o-wisp," Leon commanded, ignoring Ghos' overreaction. Ghos continued to struggle fruitlessly, causing Leon to repeat his attack in a firmer voice. The Ghost- and Poison-type Pokémon finally stilled himself and looked at the wild Wurmple again and a ring of strange, bluish flames appeared around his body. He sent these little balls of fire at the Wurmple, hitting it dead on and knocking it backwards again, also inflicting a burn as was the secondary effect of the attack.

xTwilightTulip Train gave a small, sideways smile when Julio fell, a small sweat drop appearing on the back of her head. She glanced at Carlos and motioned for Pikachu to come along as she moved to follow him. She hooked her thumbs in her jeans’ pockets and kept pace with the guitar-playing trainer. ”Actually, yeah, I really just wanna get to Cerulean so I can try for my second badge,” She replied. Though it seemed a bit soon to already be thinking of challenging for her second badge, she did have two Pokémon with type advantages over the gym’s. ”What about yourself?” Carlos chuckled a bit, recalling his Lombre as it was starting to get a little bothersome for him too. "Taking the gym challenge then are you? Heh heh, it's not an easy road amiga. I too will have to try my hand at it some day too I think. Ha ha, but I don't head to Cerulean for a badge. I seek something a bit harder to find." Carlos grinned, one of his arms disappearing under his poncho, only to reemerge with a rather large old looking book. The pages yellow and tattered, some of the words elegible, even the title was faded, but Carlos held it out eagerly for Train to take. "I found this book in my travels. It holds in it many legends from around the world, as well as the pokemon they surround. I'm hunting Legendary Pokemon chika, Cerulean is just the next stop on my journey to gather more information."

If this Barry guy thought he was going to get away with insulting him, boy did he have another thing coming. "Chimchar, go with Brick Break!" Kilik swung his arm forward. That was the attack he just learned! Awesome, he was going to crush that little Piplup's beak in! Dashing forward, he jumped into the air and spun, bringing his fist straight down towards the penguin. That's the way to do it, Chimchar! Kilik thought with a smirk.
"Piplup, take it!" Barry called out. The penguing brought up a fin and shielded its face from the full force out the blow, but man did it still hurt. With his pride somewhat shaken, Piplup hopped back a few feet away from his opponent, readying himself for his trainer's command. Snapping his fingers, Barry said "Use your Pound attack!" Running as fast as his little feet would take him, Piplup brought his flipper forward and smashed it right into Chimchar's stomach.
"Chi-chaaa!!" the little ape cried, flying back a few feet. He quickly got back up, ready for more. As if something like that would keep him down for too long. Kilik had to admit that the penguin was a little bit stronger than he had anticipated. After becoming accustomed to battling with stronger moves and stronger Pokemon, he forgot how much damage a simple Pound could do to a low-level Pokemon, coming from an opponent on an equal level. Clearing his throat, Kilik had a few thoughts going through his head. He could either Brick Break and ensure a strong hit or attack with Scratch. Break Brick is certainly a lot stronger than Scratch... What was taking him so long!? Chimchar looked over at his shoulder at Kilik and then focused on his opponent. If he wasn't going to order him, then he was going to do it himself! He ran forward again and, as before, jumped up into the air. "Chimmmm..." he stuck his foot out in front of him and it erupted into a powerful looking Blaze Kick. "CHARRR!" he slammed his foot hard against the penguin's face and watched as his opponent spiraled down the field. Gah! I didn't know that he had Blaze Kick!
"Yeesh, where were you when I picked my starter?" Barry laughed, and the Piplup glared at him menacingly when he got back to his feet. "Just kidding, Piplup! You know you're the best! Now get back in there and use your Pound one more time!" Shaking off some dirt, the penguin went up to his opponent and slapped him hard across the face with his flipper. Chimchar rubbed his cheek and readied his hand, using a Scratch attack to slap him back.
Hnng... Kilik put his hand on his forehead, Looks like training this guy is gonna be a little harder than I thought.

"Yep," Train said, nodding slightly. She blinked when Carlos said he wasn't going for badges; she'd sort of assumed it was an underlying goal for all Pokémon trainers. His goal was rather interesting, though, and she couldn't help but wonder how in the world she hadn't noticed that giant book jutting out from underneath his poncho. He must have hidden it pretty darn well. The thing look mangled beyond belief, and had to have been around...forever, by the looks of it. She took it carefully and delicately lifted the cover, nearly choking from the smell of all the dust that must have gathered on it and stuck. Holding it away from her a little so she could actually take a breath, she turned a few of the pages very very cautiously, not wanting to rip it or ruin it anymore than it already was.
"What's it say?" She asked, noticing that all the words were in some completely unfamiliar language. She did actually recognise a few of the Pokémon whose pictures were shown in the book. "If you know, I mean," She added, turning a few more pages.+=+=+=+ The Wurmple made an attempt to stand, but as it tried to perform another attack, it collapsed, and did not get up again. Ghos floated down and observed it for what appeared to be no reason, and Leon returned him to his PokéBall, not trusting him to stay by his side like Muuma was prone to, and since they were about to enter the woods he did not think that that would end very well.
He stepped out of the grass and back onto the path, coming up to the entrance and going through into Petalburg Woods. It got noticeably darker, but this did not bother Leon and he merely kept going, hoping he'd be able to get to Rustboro soon.

Venerax stood up to assist Bill, and poured out four glasses of juice, setting one down at each placing on the table. Outside the rising sun reflected brilliantly on the ocean waters, a light wind rippling the waters as making them seem as though they were the scales of a great fish. A flock of pidgey and pidgeotto flew past just over the cliffs heading north. Just as the table was set Arturo re-entered the dining room with a trolley laden with food. Toast, sausage, omelets, and fruit were in abundance. In short order the food was set on the table.
“Help yourselves,” The narrow labboy motioned to the food. ===============================================
Tailor lead the way along the brick sidewalks of the city. Many people walked along the streets as well. The old fashioned buildings loomed over Crush like cliffs without the surf. All this rock without water was unsettling to the Sinnoh Surfer, who grew up on his parent’s research vessel. It didn’t take long to walk the blocks to the pokecenter, its red-doomed roof and modern architecture seeming out of place in this rustic city.

A Heat Wave from Helios would drop these two like flies, Keegan thought, watching as the two Pokemon collided once more, their metallic bodies clanging noisily against each other. The trainer of the Scizor called for a Bullet Punch to be used, and he scoffed loudly. "The Pokemon seem tough enough, it's just too bad the trainers lack brains," the redhead muttered, cigarette dangling from his lips. The red and black armor-clad mantis sped forward, leaping up towards the equally-armored silver bird, the fact that they were a bad matchup against each other apparently not deterring either of them from trying their hardest. The Scizor made use of its short wings to help give its jump more height, but Keegan was sure the Skarmory would be able to maneuver out of the way with ease.
Sure enough, the Armor Bird flapped its wings to push itself back, and the Bullet Punch missed by what was only a foot or so. "Air Cutter!" called its trainer, and just like that the Skarmory sent a sharp gust of air directly into the chest of the Scizor - a critical hit - sending it spiraling to the ground where it crashed with some force, and Keegan was sure the fall had been more damaging than the actual attack from the Skarmory.
"That's gotta hurt," he muttered to Sasha, shaking his head as he watched the Scizor try to get back to its feet, which it finally did, albeit shakily. He had to admit that these two Pokemon were tougher than he initially thought, but the trainers really were a couple of knuckleheads for pitting two steel types against each other. ===== It seemed that Aska and Tingle's double-teaming of the Growlithe had worked quite well, as the Puppy Pokemon didn't seem like it knew its head from its tail all of a sudden. "Aska, now use Sand-Attack on the Marshtomp," Miharu called, pointing at the Mud Fish Pokemon. Aska chirped in reply and swept down past her blue and orange opponent, once again bringing up a rather large cloud of sand. The Marshtomp let out a sharp groan and closed its eyes, but not before firing off a quick Water Gun at Sydney's command. The attack was so sudden that the Pidgeotto could do nothing to avoid it and let out an annoyed squawk as her backside was now drenched, but at the very least the attack had been far from powerful.
"Hang in there, Growlithe," Sydney called, a little annoyed by all the sand Miharu's Pidgeotto was flinging around. "Try a Leer!" She knew that the green-haired girl's attempts to lower her Growlithe's accuracy would be in vain, as he would always have his sharp nose (and Odor Sleuth) to rely on, but for now she decided to keep that to herself. Despite the sand still doing an astounding job of blinding it, the Puppy Pokemon let out a sharp bark and cast a very nasty glare in the direction of his foes.
Aska felt a chill go down her spine from the Leer, but Tingle, thanks to its ability, was unaffected. "Tingle, let's try an Aerial Ace on the Marshtomp," Miharu called, though to her dismay, Tingle was no longer paying attention to the battle, and was in fact, currently busy mimicking a Krabby that was scuttling along the shores nearby. "TINGLE, PAY ATTENTION!" the small girl shouted, feeling her anger suddenly flare up (a trait that all members of the Summers family shared, no doubt). The sound of its trainer's voice was enough to snap the Metang out of his reverie, but of course he had no idea what was going on, other than the fact that his partner was now soaking wet, both opponents seemed to be blind, and Miharu was practically shaking with rage.

Aside from being darker and more closed in, being the woods really didn't feel much different than being outside of them. He hardly saw anyone, he could hear wild Pokémon moving around far away as well as nearby sometimes, and Muuma was floating by his head, loyally following her trainer.
He did see Wurmple brush by in the grass a couple of times, but made no extra effort to stop them and battle, although Muuma kept her eye on them until they were a good distance away. Finally, though, a extra brave one stopped before the two and raised its back end into the air, showing off it's oh-so-scary spikes to the two. Unimpressed, Leon nodded Muuma forward. She happily obliged, glad she got a chance to battle instead of that baby (literally) that had joined their team not so long ago.
Upon seeing movement, the Wurmple shot a long sticky string that draped around Muuma, to which she gave the Pokémon a deathly glare and, though she just wanted to mangle the thing, waited for Leon to give her a command. "Psywave." Muuma eagerly sent the multi-coloured rings at the Worm Pokémon, which really didn't stand a chance due to the level gap between two. Leon gave the tiniest of sighs as Muuma returned to him, still looking disgustedly at the sticky string that still clung to her body. This was getting boring. There was too much of a level gap between the Pokémon he was coming across and the ones he had, not to mention the low levels meant that they didn't have many or any attacks that could inflict any sort of damage on his Pokémon. Hopefully once he got to the next town things would start to be more interesting.

More walking. For a long, long time it really seemed like there was nothing else in those woods besides himself and Muuma. Soon after this thought, though, there was a rustle in the grass nearby, and a Zigzagoon poked its head out over the grass. It watched the two walk by, but didn't move. After a few more steps, Leon stopped. He turned to face the wild Pokémon and took out Ghos' PokéBall, demanding a Will-o-wisp immediately upon appearance. Ghos complied quickly this time, and soon the Zigzagoon was stumbling backwards, and with a nice little burn now.
It hopped to its feet, though, and ran at Ghos in a Tackle attack, though of course it went right thought the Gas Pokémon. It winced as it felt pain throb through it from its burn, but turned to face its opponent again, growling angrily at Ghos, who responded merely by grinning at the Normal-type. Knowing that Ghos' other moves besides Hypnosis (which, if successful, would only make the battle more boring) wouldn't effect the wild Pokémon, Leon ordered another Will-o-wisp, thankful that it actually dealt damage upon use and didn't just inflict a burn.
