Roman had made Phoenix keep to a canter after a few minutes of the stallion getting to gallop - he was still worried about the big horse's fitness level, and what he could and could not endure. Better to go a bit more slowly and be sure that the horse was all right. When he broke into the clearing, he smiled at Kahlilia. "Ben's certainly got the speed. I wonder how old he is - maybe he can still go into some races," he joked as he patted Phoenix.
Then his eye fell on some logs, spaced quite nicely. "We could set those up into a jump course," he mused. "They're not too big, and if we propped them well..." He fell into consideration, then turned and grinned at Kahlilia, looking as excited as a little boy. "We could do this, Lily. We could really do this!" In his excitement, he didn't seem to realize he'd called her by a nickname for the first time.

minus infinity Xavier chuckled a little. "Well," He replied in the same casual tone, "Anything and everything."
That statement probably made him sound pretty disgusting. Deep in the back of his mind, he had probably been called such a name - or others relating to it - more than his share of times. He never really cared, and if he were to meet the right person he could even gloat about it.
Guys will be guys.
Making a squeaky noise to mimic a parrot, he laughed and caught Summer around her waist to hold her. Then, he looked over at Shadow and shrugged lightly, not seeming to mind. It always seemed to be a mystery, whatever it was that was actually on his mind. "Hey," He told Summer and smiled, joking around as usual. "How'd you like to go romping in the mud?"
"You'll have to carry me over there," Summer said laughing when he made the parrot sound. "Then we'll have to get back in the water and wash off could be fun," she then smiled.

"I think hes still pretty young, probably about five," Kahlilia answered after pausing to think about it. "I could be wrong, though." Shrugging, she looked over and smiled warmly. "I'll try and see how he likes racing."
Kahlilia had just dismounted and was looking over at the logs too now, then she looked up at him when he called her by her most common nickname. Of course, she didn't mind, because a lot of people actually called her by Lily than by her actual name. She seemed to brighten at Roman's idea, and gave a little nod. In an increasingly enthusiactic voice, she replied, "This is going to be so much fun !"
"Fine with me." Xavier said evenly as he picked Summer up and dropped her in a muddy spot rather gently adjacent to the river. Then, he got up and stood in it, looking and it and seemingly observing it with slight interest. Smirking at her, he tossed some mud at her so that it landed on one of her legs.
Lady walked over to Shadow for some reason and was looking from the other mare to the couple in the mud. Why were they so interested in things like this? Her eyes seemed to say.

Shadow shook her head as if to say she had no idea.
Summer looked at the mud on her legs and noticed he was still standing so she quickly grabbed his foot and pulled hoping he would fall all the way into the mud. She smiled then grabbed a handful of mud and smeared it all over his hair. She was laughing the whole time as she wiped the mud off her leg, "Well now your hair is washed," she said teasingly.

"That is young," mused Roman. "But would you believe he's almost too old to race in the regular races? Most of those horses are three, four years old. Just babies. It's crazy." He grinned. "You can try running him. I'll clock you. Around the pond?"
Phoenix whickered and shook his head a bit, apparently wanting to move. Roman didn't blame him, but he still thought Kahlilia should get a chance to let Ben run and see what he could do.

Xavier fell quickly, feeling suddenly slippery underneath the surprisingly wet mud. When he sat up from his laying position, Summer was putting some of it into his hair. Laughing, he threw some mud at her playfully. "Now its your turn." He said to her with a wide smirk on his face. Eventually, he got up from his sitting position and started to smother her body with the mud.
Kahlilia raised her eyebrows. "Wow," She said quietly. "And I've thought five was really young." She mounted again after looking around briefly and made sure Benvolio knew what he was about to do. As was Phoenix, he was growing antsy in a currently mild way.
Once again, she wondered the height of Benvolio's seemingly endless energy...
Maybe running would help take the extent of it? She wasn't sure.
Running one of her hands in Ben's mane without really being aware, she flashed a smile. "Alright," She said firmly. "I'm ready - how about you?"

Summer laughed as he started getting mud all over her pretty soon she was covered from head to toe, "Well I believe my mud bath is done," she then pushed Xaiver until he was laying on his back and started to smear mud on him from head to toe. What she was really doing was trying to bury him in the mud from his neck down and so far she had his legs covered. She was smiling the whole time and was having such fun.

Xavier laughed and put more mud on Summer as she attempted to bury him. He was making growling noises to imitate a child's version of a mud monster, or something like that. He was being silly, and he was of course aware, but he was having a good time. Both of them were covered with mud, but that was okay because he was with her ...
Suddenly Lady reared up where she was standing and let out a high pitched neigh. Startled, Xavier got up to a standing position and looked over at the mare, then over at Summer with bewilderment.
What had scared her? He thought as he shook some of the excess mud from himself, looking around the ground. Finally, he saw what had most likely been the reason - there was a snake, a small but nevertheless very tall garden snake. It was slithering in their direction, but had probably smelled some sort of smaller dinner for itself.
With caution, Xavier went over to Lady and stroked her in a way of calming her down. The snake wasn't going to go away anytime soon, but he wasn't afraid of them. In fact, he was fascinated by them.

Summer spotted the garden snake and noticed how Shadow was pawing at the ground. She quickly walked over to were Shadow was standing and calmed the mare down. She then walked over to where the snake was a quickly picked it up making sure to hold the head of the snake so it wouldn't bite her though it was harmless. She turned to Xavier and asked him, "Is she alright?" She then quickly let the snake crawl up her arm where it curled around her arm and just seemed to want to stay there, "I think I have a new pet," she said smiling.

Xavier smiled at her warmly. "Awesome," He said to her with interest. "What'cha gonna call it?" He felt like the rabbit in Bambi to say that, but hey, what the hell?
Lady went over to the river, still in the couple's eyeshot but venturing to the corners of that, drinking with a little bit of caution.
Oh well. He gingerly pet the snake's back but not enough to annoy it, nobody liked to be bit by any kind of animal.
Or did they?
"Hey," He volunteered suddenly. "We should name it Fangs !" Excited about finding a snake, he was obviously showing it. If he found more he would have it made.

Summer laughed at the way he was acting, "You remind me of a school boy who is excited to meet his new teacher," she said smiling. "Fangs would be a great name for her," she said smiling. "Hey you wanna hold her?" Summer asked almost jumping up and down with joy.

( Uh ... Theres only three of us actually roleplaying in this thread right now. Sorry if someone else already mentioned )
Xavier laughed simply at her remark. "I guess I am," He replied casually, still smiling. He remembered always being interested in the 'icky' things like snakes, bugs, lizards, and sticks, which he would sometimes pick up and poke girls with. In elementary school, it was a guy's way of showing affection or very strong dislike for a girl of any kind.
Including teachers.
His smile appeared to widen when Summer asked if he wanted to hold their newfound pet. He nodded and gently took the snake from her arm, making sure it didn't try to bite him. Even if the bite would probably be harmless, it was still a good idea not to be bit. "How do you know Fangs is a girl?"

"I just know call it women's intuition," Summer said smiling. "Dont you dare hurt her while your holding her I have to go wash the mud off me I'll be right back." She said walking into the river and washing off.

"Five is really young," replied Roman. "Especially when you consider that they live into their thirties." He smiled a bit when she said she was ready, and placed a settling hand on Phoenix's shoulder when the horse began to prance a little. After hitting a few buttons on his watch, he nodded. "I'll start clocking when you hit that willow there," he said, pointing at the tree, "and I'll stop once you've rounded the pond and gone past there again. We'll have to factor in that he won't be as fast as he would be on a smooth racetrack - but I think we'll at least get an idea. Go for it."
Phoenix whickered excitedly at Ben, tossing his head. Roman chuckled. "Yes, boy - wish him good luck."
