Yamato1 TtheHero Yamato1 TtheHero Yamato1 Dude.. I gotta ask. What's with all the pictures? Well, they do tend to make posts rather long, but I'm more confused as to what "crunk" has to do with "Brawl" :p I woulda just said " HOLY s**t EVIL MONKEY". Besides, I can't stand rap. :p

They're not clones.
Even though they have almost the same movesets.
Same Final Smashes.
Are the same stature.
From the same Series.
I mean C'MON!!
They're a LITTLE smidgen different from Lucas and Fox.
I mean look at them! Falco's a Bird and Ness has brown hair!
I don't see how birds can be clones of foxes and brown hair can come from blonde hair. ((Aside from Naked Snake to Liquid Snake))

ANYWAY, did anyone see that character breakdown thing for Olimar and Sonic that someone posted a while ago?
Olimar looks really hard to play as, with all that Pikmin switching. But Jesus, that white Pikmin deals a lot of damage!
Sonic also looks kinda hard to use because of his speed, but he also seems to be extremely kickass. That up B is just crazy how good it is!

Meta_Fish It wasn't really even a debate, it was just "but they are clones" "but they aren't!" "but they are" "but they aren't!" over and over. You both supported a little to back up what you said, but he said that you had your head up your a**, and you just kept denying it. We never said they were "Melee clones" (God, I fear we're making up new things just to argue that will be used later on), but that they were clones nonetheless. If you want to deny that they're clones, go ahead. You cannot deny that they have similarities greater than those of other characters. While they may not be Dr. Mario, they're the closest thing we have in this game. And stop with the Luigified thing. That was stupid when you first coined it, and it's stupid now. There's really no way to say that without offending you, but it just is. Luigi is a "Melee edit" so now we have "Brawl edits". It's dumb to nitpick about them not being clones, but being edits or deviations instead. They have similar attacks, but different animations for them. They have similar fighting styles and nearly identical Final Smashes. I say tomato, you say tomatoe.

If that's your definition of a clone, then yes. They are clones. However, I consider a clone to have all but 1 or 2 moves the same, but work differently. Same animation, different properties. (ala the Falco Spike)

We're all going to play the game. Don't be defensive if someone doesn't like Clones. Considering we were practically promised "No clones!" by Sakurai, and considering the two delays we've had, one would think, hey, maybe they'll go through with their promise! No clones... Ganondorf with a unique moveset... That would work! instead... the curtain goes up, and this time, Fox has TWO clones. Or edits. Which is basically saying they're clones. SEMANTICS!! Would it have been difficult to program in more moves? I doubt it. Freaking DeDeDe, MetaKnight, Ike. They do not possess a clone moveset. And considering all the other crap they're cramming into this game, would it have been impossible? I say nay. The clones are a disappointment. And that's what they are. Clones. There is no getting around it. You can take apart all of their moves, all of their abilities, and it will come to the same thing. Clones. I still look forward to this game. Wild donkeys can't kick me away from it. But this will be my one disappointment. But just because it's my disappointment doesn't mean that someone has to try to force the issue. Let it go.

Now we're just getting down to nit picks, honestly. "What defines a clone?" Ness and Lucas are more similar than any other characters in the game, other than Link and Toon Link.
