"Whoa..." Sai said going wide eyed and slack jawed. He released the energy he had been building in preparation for spellcasting.
I can feel something from you. What is it?> Stratus questioned from within his stone.
Sai touched his fingertips to the stone around his neck and Stratus burst forth in a brief flash of light. He emerged curled around his partner his his wings folded and his fangs bared, ready to defend against an assault. Then He suddenly realized what he was feeling through their bond. It was awe. He glanced around at the parting storm and then again at the flying harbor. They had finally arrived at the fabled city in the sky.

"old people usually hate being called old, especially women," Jania whispered back. "I just figured she would get mad at you, and you would have to contend with someone else's temper. She was just to kind though."

Kin felt abnormally calm to begin with, not fearing death, why should he fear a storm? Kin watched as things began getting worse until the captain of the ship took action. Having the wind not harm the ship in anyway instantly led to Kin scolding Vix for being afraid of nothing.
Kin yelled at Vix.
Vix shot back.
Kin groaned. At least we're almost to where we need to go...

Carryway had a broad grin on his face when his men pulled down the gangway, as if it had never left his face since the hurricane's parting. "Thank ye fer yer services. An' I hope we meet again. I think you'll find that the Imperial forces aren't as...common here, ye kin rest easy." He jumped down and pointed from the docks down the highstreet.
It seemed to Vilya that there were at least two levels to the city, the main street where most shops, inns and taverns were gathered but above them was an entire network of alleys and corridors, connected by bridges over the lower streets and leading to the second floors of most of the buildings. Tura came slowly out of her stone and looked with her companion. Tura growled softly.
"'At road there will take ye straight te the sage's mansion. Jus' tell 'im yer a friend of Carryway's an' ye'll be treated right well." He then turned and walked slowly back onto the ship, standing aside so Sai and his friends could disembark. "I might'have said before but this city is home te the most skilled magic crafters in the world. I advise ye te take a look at the shops on yer way."
Vilya stepped off the destiny with Tura at her side. "It was a pleasure captain." She gave a mock salute and grinned. She could feel excitement building, but it wasn't hers. emotion coming out of you?> the gryphon responded in a sarcastic tone.

((Many pardons for not replying sooner. The land of no internet is a scary place. Once again, if I'm not around feel free to move Damiano so he can at least stay with the group sweatdrop ))
The young magus, having exhausted himself in the battle against the pirate mages, had gone to sleep before the ship entered the hurricane. Having been jostled about quite thoroughly (if not in his physical self then as his dream state) Damiano found waking to a relatively quiet air a little worrisome. When he emerged from his hold, he could only imagine what had transpired in such a short time for them to have finally arrived.
"By the powers..." the young magus managed to say as his mind filled with wonders. By far this was one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen. Ark, from within the mask covering half of Damiano's face, also saw the sight. commented the dragon via the mind link they shared. Damiano scoffed, he would do no such thing. Whether the captain paid him or not would earn his thanks.
"Well then, I do believe our transaction has been met, dear Captain. If memory does serve, you promised our worth in coin," Damiano stated coming near the captain of the vessel. He leaned closer to the man and, in much quieter tones, he said, "We did perform amiably and might I add that none of my associates know what lies in those crates? I do believe we are entitled to our fare share of the profits what with the risks we unknowingly took." Damiano fixed his gaze on the man. He would not cast any spells, nor would he push. He knew better than that. However, he wanted the captain to understand that his cargo was no idle matter any hired help could have dealt with.

Carryway laughed as he listened to Damiano. "I said I'd think about it, see'in as you was so polite with me afore this all began. But I like yer spirit boy. Here." He pulled a small sack of coins equal to those he had given the other combatants. "Now that the cargo's safe in the docks 'o' Kayessmarra I dun' really mind ye tellin' the others. but..." He held the mage's shoulder lightly. "It would be a right bit 'o' trouble fer all of us ifn' the Imperials were te know jus' wot we were transportin' in this ship."

Sai had gratefully accepted the small pouch offered to him by the captain. He was still in awe, but excitement was growing in him, of the city. He also listened as the captain informed them of the popular wares of the city. He'd definitely have to look into that, he thought to himself. After his rest, and because of the excitement coursing through him, which resonated with Stratus, he felt quite energized.
He looked to his partner and his friends, Damiano and Kin. "C'mon guys, let's go!"
He nimbly ran across the deck and, putting one foot on the rail for a makeshift springboard, vaulted off of the ship. Stratus was right behind him, leaping from the ship and throwing his wings open wide, once clear of the rigging, to catch the air and carry him high into the air. Sai performed a front flip as he flew through the air and, with a muttered incantation for a wind spell, landed in a crouch with a small gust of air swirling around him.
Sai looked to his left, where the gangplank rested on the pier only a few feet away and laid eyes on Vilya. "So, where to first? The Sage? Or should we find someplace to stay? Or eat? Or check out the wares in the shops? Ladies choice." He said to her.

Kin took the gangplank as his choice of making an exit. He met up with Sai and stood next to him, wearing his usual blank expression. Sai really gets worked up over this stuff. Kin thought to himself. Oh well, as long as he does his thing and ends up bringing more interesting things along with him. I actually hope Sai is found by the Imperials, it would help me kill some time.

"Yeah! That's the spirit Sai!" She slapped him on the back. "My choice huh?...Well.." she pulled out her ruined scimitar. "I'd really like to get this fixed. It's a family heirloom...The smith's district?"
"Aye tha'd be next te the magic crafter's guild on the western edge of the city." Carryway offered. "Can't miss the guild's little clubhouse...its the most gawdy building in the city."
Tura mused.

"Well, then let's head to the western edge." Sai said.
((Wow... I really can't think of anything right now... Griffin, go ahead and jump everyone to the western edge.))

((You got it. Oh, one thing...Im going to be in a place without internet for 3 weeks starting today, I'll take Vilya off and you and Azure can continue without me for a bit. I'll be back on the 20th.)) This part of the city was tightly packed, no carts or carriages could pass through the narrow streets, but every type of weapon, armor piece or accessory was for sale here, each claiming to have a unique enchantment woven in during its fabrication. Vilya marvelled at the intrecate designs, while Tura read all the tags on the enchantments and oggled the gold pieces, glinting in the sun. "We need a weapons master...preferably one that didn't specialize in enchantments...I'd get disqualified if I showed up to the tournament with magicked blades." It wasn't long before they found a smith; "Weapons master, the way swords were meant to be made." Vilya read on the aging wood sign. "I'm not going to force you to wait with me, but I'd like to see my scimitar re-made. I'll catch up with you later." She said cheerfully. It looked like a pretty run down shop, but once they stepped inside it was clean, and well lit with a glass pane on the roof shedding light into an open forge at the shop's back. As Vilya looked around, something caught her eye. "Tura, look there!" She pointed up on the wall at a pair of fabric arm guards. They were worn and discoloured, but Vilya could still make out the original dyes and patterns. "Its the weaving of my tribe." Vilya looked at the identical pair of guards on Tura's forelegs. It was tradition for a warrior to give up thiers and have a pair made for their creature if they became a combatant. But Only warriors of the tribe and thier companions had the right to own them. "Hello?" called a voice from the behind the forge and Vilya froze.
((You'll have to wait till I get back to find out the rest ^^... Oh, and if you get to it, I had an idea for the sage...sparked by this picture...
Do with it what you will.))

((Oh, I will do with it what I will. It might not be the same as yours but I have a pretty good idea for this already as well... I suddenly realized I don't know why I'm responding to you, since you're going to be gone...))
Sai had followed Vilya and Tura through the streets and the crowds into the western edge of the city, the weapons district. When Vilya stated that she was going to get her scimitar fixed and that they should move on without her Sai simply nodded. "Meet at the Sages school tonight." He said to her.
He turned away and began to meander up the street, looking intently at all of the wide variety of weaponry displayed around him. Some was plain but durable looking, some appeared intricate and elaborate to the point that he could not imagine it would be functional. Stratus walked behind him, wings folded against his body. People flowed around, giving him a small berth, apparently his kind were not uncommon here, he could even see several large and fantastic creatures walking the streets as well.
"So, Kin, what do say we find our way to Sages school early and get another mark under our belts." Sai said.
((I feel as though I have redeemed myself somewhat from my last post...))

Kin glanced in Sai's direction when he spoke to him, but didn't divert his attention completely to him since he had to keep his guard up in such a town. "That sounds like the best idea and the best thing I've heard in a long time. I miss a good fight." Kin replied to Sai, almost not even thinking about the small battle they had just had on the airship.
Depending on the battle field and the battle type, this fight could actually become very enjoyable. Hopefully the sage just won't give up like that frog sage did when I finally got a intruder combat setup... Not allowing me to finish just takes the fun out of everything.

((Raistlin, I'm going to follow your instructions and simply have Damiano follow along with us quietly.)) "Alright, let's get going!" Sai said enthusiastically. He glanced around once, then again, then turned back to Kin. "I have no idea where I'm going..." Stratus spoke into Sai's mind, sounding exasperated.
"Right, right." Sai said aloud. He quickly nabbed a local who was passing by and got some basic directions out of him. "Alright, Let's get going! Again..."
Sai led the way through the crowded streets and out of the district to a relatively quieter section of the town. Less crowded anyways, enough so that they no longer had to push between shoulder to shoulder crowds.
Eventually they made it to where they had been told about, after a few wrong turns and some backtracking. It was not a typical building, what they could see of it anyways. It was surrounded by a high wall, which was common for Sages schools. The tops of the buildings that they could see over the wall were magnificent. Architecture of a style that Sai had never even heard of before. It appeared almost as if the buildings had been formed from some sort of fluid stone that had settled into solidity after attaining the form that was desired.
"Nice place." Sai muttered to himself. He pulled the cord outside the door, which rang a bell announcing their presence. They waited only a few moments before a stout man with a neatly trimmed beard answered. He was wearing livery, obviously a servant of some sort.
"Combatants? This way please." The man led the way through the doors and passed several building before coming into an open courtyard.
The ground appeared made of stone, though it looked as though it had, again, been liquid before forming into solidity. There were fanciful swirling patterns all about the place. The rest of the buildings were just as fantastic appearing fluid and yet constructed of soft blue white stone simultaneoulsy. There was a podium on either end of the courtyard, which was also usual of Sages schools that favored traditional or limited combat, though they were much wider than what Sai normally saw.
"Please wait here, it should only be a momentary wait." the man said and hustled off into the building directly behind the far podium.
"Wow, interesting place. Don't you think so Kin?" Sai asked his comrade.

Kin sighed, feeling impatient. "I guess so. I just want to see what I'm up against." Kin replied to Sai. Kin sat down on the ground and laid back, resting his head on both hands behind his head. Kin yawned. "I wonder if the sage is going to be strong." Kin muttered. He eyed Sai. Sai's teleport ability has been improving. How far can he go?
