Omelette looked up at her trainer with wide eyes and a fat bottom lip, making it very clear she did not want anything to do with such rough-housing. "Now now." Sasha said, putting her hands on her hips. "You have to learn sometime. Now go, go!" With one last indignant wail, the Azurill bounced to the floor and made her way to the arena. Sasha looked around at the expansive battlefield and smirked. It was quite amusing to see little Omelette center stage. She certainly stuck out like a sore thumb.

Soon Erika released a Pokemon of her own, and one Sasha didn't recognize at that. "Sinnoh, eh?" Sasha repeated, raising an eyebrow. "I briefly visited Sinnoh." The pink-haired girl thought back to the sights and sounds of Jubilife. The lights! The billboards! The potential. That was until she ran into Blaine and screamed her way back to Kanto. There may have been a helicopter involved, we're not sure anymore. "It's so cute! Précieux!" Sasha squeaked, then noticing one distinct similarity between the two little Pokemon. "Z'here is an impressive lack of arms in this match-up. If one of z'hem gets knocked over we may be here for a while."

Sasha accepted Erika's offer with a polite curtsy. "Merci, ma fleur." Sensing the battle was about to start, Omelette squeaked in protest, but Sasha was having none of it. "Omelette! Ecume!" Wildly uncomfortable with the entire situation, the Azuril shook back and forth before loosing a weak spray of bubbles towards Cherubi.

Riza felt a familiar twinge tug at her heart the moment she finished speaking, and right away she knew it was the same feeling she had the last time she'd said something overly spiteful to Kasiya, it was guilt. Immediately she saw the pained look on the younger girl's face and that only added to it. 'I always do that,' she thought, trying to quell the horrible feeling creeping up inside her stomach. She couldn't even really put her finger on just why she always seemed to feel the need to provoke the blonde girl, but it was almost starting to feel like some kind of instinct. Perhaps she had some lingering resentment from back at the beach party, and the gala, too, when both times, she realized she didn't have a chance with the cute redhead so long as he had his sights set on the blonde girl.

Her gaze quickly scanned the lobby of the pokecenter and she realized that people were looking at them, and she felt another pang of guilt as she'd just scolded Hayley for the same thing a few minutes prior. She took a deep breath of her own, fully expecting for Kasiya to take a swing at her (as she did deserve it after all) but it didn't come, instead the blonde stepped up and came back with a verbal assault of her own. She listened patently, her smug expression having not changed despite the rash of emotions she'd experienced just now.

"No, no battles," she said once the blonde had finished her tirade, holding her hands up in a defensive manner as she eyed the girl's poke ball. "That was uncalled for, I know that. Sometimes my brain to mouth filter isn't working and things slip out that I don't mean. I'm...um. I'm sorry." A rare red tint had crept into her cheeks and she tore her gaze away from Kasiya and stared at the floor. It wasn't often she apologized for anything and apologizing to her self-appointed rival was not the easiest thing she'd ever done. Riza took a few deep breaths and calmed herself, putting on a smile "Let's start over, okay? Hey there, Kass. How's it going? How's your cute little Minccino doing?" There, that was better, wasn't it? She spied Hayley trying to hide behind Mike (was she imagining things or was that smoke drifting up from his forehead?) and flashed the brunette an apologetic smile as well. Kasiya had been right about one thing, if she wanted to make friends, the first step to achieving that would be to stop being a catty b***h, as the blonde had so eloquently put it (well most of it).

Kazuo stood at the entrance to the safari zone. He had been there many times before on patrol with his dad helping to keep it safe from poaching. This time he was here by himself, with his own pokeballs on a mission to catch his first pokemon. Of course those balls were safari balls, he wasn't exempt from the rules after all and so he set off into the grass and trees in search of his first partner. Would it be a tauros? A venonat or possibly a legendary dratini? Kazuo was almost giddy with anticipation, even though he has trained to control himself and stay focused this was the first time he's really been set free like this. It was liberating.

He spent a couple of hours searching through the vast savannah of the safari zone without coming across so much as a paras. So he decided to sit down and take a break near a tree and eat some of the food he had stashed away in his pack. As he ate he felt his strength returning, he even went as far as to think his pack felt lighter now that he was refreshed. As he went to replace his lunchbox he then realised that half of the contents of his pack were strewn across the floor and at his feet was a Scyther grinning up at him sheepishly. Kazuo felt rage building up inside as he glared down at the creature that had dared try and steal his things. Then his eyes widened as it dawned on him what was stood right in front of him. The Scyher must have read his mind as it panicked and started running away.

Kazuo chased the pokemon across the safari zone, up trees and over rivers. His training had served him well as he just about managed to keep up with this agile pokemon. He spent the entire afternoon chasing it until eventually both of them were exhausted. Kazuo panted as he finally caught up with the Scyther and pulled out a safari ball from his belt and tossed it at the worn out bug pokemon. The scyther made a feeble attempt to deflect the ball with its scythes but fell over backwards instead and was sucked into the special pokemon container. It twitched for a few seconds and Kazuo watched it nervously. The capture light went out and he breathed a sigh of relief as his first pokemon had been caught and it was hard earned. He picked up the ball and stared at it with admiration.

"From now on you'll be named after my favorite sword, Musya."

It was a fitting name he felt, with that he returned to town to replace his things and sew up the gaping hole in his bag.

Training had been going rather well for Karrigan, as after some serious practice, little Naga had really gotten the hang of her Ice Punch move. She could charge it up much quickly now, and it was starting to get some power behind it, as well. The Cubchoo had also made significant progress with her Powder Snow, and Karrigan had also discovered that the small Ice-type had learned how to use Bide. Similar progress had been made with Amber, as the Vulpix showed vast improvement, mostly in the speed and dodging department. Taking a point-blank Confusion to the face thanks to Lennier had been a literal eye-opener for the fox, and as Karrigan watched her avoid the small bullet-like blasts of psychic energy from her Kadabra, she had a feeling that future battles with Amber would be a lot easier now that she had the Fire-type's full cooperation.

Karrigan and her Pokemon had been in the midst of taking a break when she heard someone else enter the battle area, and she looked up, a bit surprised to see the dark-haired boy she'd befriended (sort of?) the night before. "Damien," she said, noting that his egg still hadn't hatched yet. "Good morning; did you sleep well?" The redheaded girl looked past him as she saw that he was not alone; a girl with ratty bluejeans, a bright pink top and long green hair pulled back into a ponytail had followed him in. She looked a little nervous, and an odd feeling started in the pit of Karrigan's stomach. "Who's your friend?" she asked, receiving an answer a moment latter. "Miharu, hello," she said, her tone quiet as her usual shy, little smile appeared on her face. "Are you two here to do some training as well?"

"Excuse me, Miss Karrigan," Lennier's voice echoed in her mind quite suddenly, causing the redhead to look over at the Kadabra. "I do not wish to interrupt, but I believe it pertinent to point out that this girl, Miss Miharu, is in fact, the girl that Mister Damien's Gastly investigated last night. You might wish to refrain from inviting her to join in on your training exercises as it might be..." The Kadabra appeared to struggle for the right phrase for a moment, "in bad taste."

Karrigan stared at the Kadabra for a moment, mouth nearly hanging open. Her quick reply was almost "but how did you know" until she remembered that Lennier was, in fact, a Psychic-type and quite able to read minds. Unable to think of anything relevant or helpful to say, the redhead simply closed her mouth and stared at the floor, wringing her hands in a very uncomfortable manner.

Erika smiled as Sasha pointed out the two young and cute Pokemon both lacked arms. "I may or may not have chosen Cherubi for that exact reason," she said, a small laugh escaping her. Omelette in all her adorable glory, however, certainly didn't appear to share any one else's enthusiasm for battle. Erika wasn't sure if she'd ever seen such a big pout on such a small Pokemon before.

After a bit of urging, however, the little one made her move, and soon a barrage of bubbles were heading toward the Cherry Pokemon. "Cherubi, Tackle attack, if you'd be so kind." The little Grass-type gave a cry and began to run forward (it was actually more of a series of tiny hops), wincing slightly as the bubbles from the Azurill's attack burst as it made contact, but it pressed on, attempting to throw its weight into the little Normal-type.

Apparently, Mateus was far stronger than Kressen had originally thought, or bug types just evolved that fast. Either way he couldn't help, but to sit down on the beach and bear witness ti his first ever evolution. He'd missed her first one, since she did it in the pokeball, he wasn't going to miss this one. Gigas and Odin looked on. Odin in wonder since he didn't know what it meant, but Gigas in jealousy. He knew what the glowing meant, and had hoped he'd be evolving soon too.

The bug type beat him to it though, so he let out a little growl and pouted from atop the picnic table as Mateus neared the end of her evolution. Wings slowly unfurled from the shell and soon they dried in the warmth of the sun. With a cry Mateus took off into the sky to savor the joy of flight.

"Alright, Mateus! You look gorgeous!" Twirling about the Butterfree cried and preened as if to say of course I am peasant. She continued to flit about as Kressen and the others watched. A krabby and a Butterfree in one day. His journey was off to a grand start if the last two days were any indication.

With how dull Omelette's reflexes were, an attempt was really all that was needed to strike her. Though the impact was little more than a light slap (as both Pokemon weighed about the same as a wet napkin), the Azuril reacted as it if had just been shot in the foot, letting out a positively horrid screech. Sasha could only blink, raising her eyebrows in astonishment. "Oh boy." she said, pressing her pointer finger against her forehead. "We have a lot of work to do." She felt bad for thinking this, but Omelette was really...well, pathetic. "Uh," Sasha started, a little embarrassed at the scene playing out before her. "Try a Charm?" That would lessen the force of the Cherubi's attacks to a gentle summer breeze at best. If Omelette couldn't that that, then she wasn't sure what she'd be able to do for the little Azurill.

Summoning all her poise from the brutal and relentless attack she had just been subjected to (which wasn't much), Omelette wiggled in place, pouting at the opposing Pokemon in hopes to put it off guard. The display was rather adorable, and Sasha couldn't help but fidget at how cute she was.

Ken smiled as they walked, having gone off on a mini monologue there for no aparent reason. Despite the rough and gritty look he was sporting, his old tendencies were starting to shine through. It turns out its a lot harder to bury that kind of shimmer. Even now as he watched Jae walk ahead Ken could only think about how he could stand to use more accessories. A different top for sure, but then he'd need shoes to go with it and new pants too. A trendy watch, maybe some slick shades too! Hmm what would be the best way to dress him up, the cool as a cucumber silent guy, or maybe dress him loud and proud! As Ken grinned like a school child practically playing dress up with Jae in his mind, he got shaken out of it as their direction was chances to the mart. "A little shopping hm?" But to his disappointment, the store they headed for was not a clothing one. "Say I've been thinking. You want to power up before facing the gym right? Well I can help you train. I'm pretty tough myself." He said with a wink. Yeah, he definitely wasn't the hard boiled detective he was trying to be.

Flashing his ticket at the dock worker Dante followed a small group of people headed onto the boat and let out a sigh as he realized he would be stuck on another very long boat ride. Looking around he spotted a lot of trainers who looked like they were going to be settling in for the long trip to. Heh, maybe he got lucky and managed to get onto the boat with all the lazy trainers, not like last time where he was stuck on a battle crazy social nightmare boat. No, Dante would be much happier if he could just nap this whole trip through. Before his long nap though he needed to get Kali healed up. If he remembered correctly they usually had a mini pokecenter on board somewhere. Ah right, follow the signs. Dante thought to himself with a mental eye-role as he spotted a bunch of pointing signs on the roof. Before he knew it he was in the pokemon center on the boat. Conveniently enough it was right next to the arena, where wouldn't you know it a pokemon battle was going on. Dante decided to steer clear of that seeing as he wasn't quite feeling like another battle so soon.

Walking up to the counter he placed Kali's pokeball onto a tray and handed it over to the nurse. "Would you mind healing my pokemon?" The nurse just nodded and took Dante's pokeball, it seemed that she didn't really want to talk all that much either and Dante was fine with that. The auburn haired teen just turned to watch the battle, it was a Hypno verses some pokemon that Dante didn't quite recognize. Yawning he paid mild attention to the battle, the Hypno looked like it was at a disadvantage, though that might be because the other pokemon seemed to be a dark type? Dante wasn't to sure on that but the psychic attacks weren't hitting so he figured that was why. He was spared wondering too much longer as the nurse approached him with Kali's pokeball. Thanking her Dante took it and slipped it into his bag and wondered off. Now all he needed to do was find a place to crash and nap away the long boat ride.

Following the ever convenient signs Dante made his way down a few flights and into the sleeping area's. There were a lot of small individual rooms and bunk beds. Not wanting to be roped into a random pokemon battle for just existing Dante snagged one of the empty rooms and crashed onto the barely better then a cot that hung on the wall. "Sleep sweet sleep." Dante muttered to himself as he didn't even bother to change and just fell asleep in his clothing.

Jasper found himself wondering if this was what pride felt like as he watched his Ditto deliver what would be the final strike of the match. Falkner's Pidgeotto was down, and that was the ballgame. It didn't quite sink in right away for Jasper, however, but Ditto had no plans to let his trainer continue to bask in his own ignorance. Having seen its foe fall, the fake bird gave a triumphant cheer and did several fancy loops in the air before turning and diving toward Jasper. The Transform Pokemon did what he did best and transformed, this time back into his normal, blobby self (and in midair, at that), and landed unceremoniously upon his trainer's face with a squishy-sounding thunk.

Jasper's immediate reaction was to flail around before trying desperately to pry the suffocatingly-affectionate Pokemon from his head. He was finally hit with a stroke of genius and he returned the face-eater to his Pokeball. He'd managed to look back at Falkner, but the gym leader hadn't even been looking at him. He'd practically barked at Bridget, and the boy stood there, wondering if he should just go and forget about his winnings, but he paused in mid-turn as Falkner had climbed atop his badass Pidgeot. He didn't really know how to respond to the gym leader's words, so he just stood there and grinned, watching as the bird took flight.

"All right, I guess you're pretty good." Bridget's sour expression didn't seem to mirror her words, but she handed him his winnings nevertheless - the Zephyr Badge, of course, an impressive wad of cash and a... CD of some kind? Jasper stared hard at it, wondering if it had Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries on it when the stern girl spoke up again, having noticed the confused expression on the boy's face. "That's Aerial Ace," she said with a roll of her eyes. "You should teach it to your Croconaw. It would get great use out of it."

"Oh," Jasper murmured, feigning understanding as he tucked the items away in his jacket pocket. His idea of just how a computer disc could teach Aerial Ace to Croconaw was about as clear as mud. Ah well; he fancied himself to be quite clever and he was sure he'd figure it out. "So," he said, slapping on the charm and flashing a smile at Bridget, "how about you and me go out for a coffee sometime?"

The girl scoffed and quickly turned her back on him. "Not in this lifetime, loser."

'Can't blame a guy for tryin',' Jasper thought with a lighthearted shrug, and his gaze drifted to the open ceiling that Falkner had exited through moments ago. He pondered this a few moments before he re-released Ditto from his Pokeball. "Hey buddy, do ya remember that Pidgeot that was sitting right there before...?"

Hayley continued to cower behind Mike, quite unsure if she truly believed that the situation was under control. She peeked out at the blonde girl as she responded to Riza's harsh comments rather maturely, at least the brunette thought so and she smirked a little bit as Riza quickly backed off and requested a mulligan. The raven-haired girl's tone was much softer now and Hayley sighed with relief, though she couldn't help but think that witnessing a battle between the two persnickety girls would be rather fun to watch. "Yup, yup!" she said brightly, her cheerfulness returning as the proverbial bomb had been diffused. "We're all friends now, right?"

It was at that moment that she realized that Riza had picked up her sketchbook, and it made her feel like she was missing something, or had forgotten something important, like putting on pants. She tried to think nothing of it, now looking to Kasiya as Riza had brought up a Minccino. Now, Hayley didn't know exactly what a 'Minccino' was, but if it was as any good as a cappuccino, she definitely wanted to try one! "So what brings y'all to Pewter?" the brunette asked innocently, and once she was certain that no more fighting was going to break out. "Riza and I are here to challenge Brock! Not at the same time, mind you... but I wonder if he'd let us have a double battle. Talk about a time-saver! Though I'm really no good at battling, so that would probably be really, reaaallly bad for you, Riza. Say, why don't we all head outside and show off our Pokemon? I bet that'd be fun!" The brunette was already inching toward the door excitedly. As a Pokemon Watcher (In-Training), meeting as many new types of Pokemon as possible was part of her job description.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 7:51 pm

Kasiya's harsh glare softened as Riza quickly owned up to her remarks and apologized, and upon seeing the embarrassed look on the older girl's face, she decided to let her off the hook, at least for now, and she glanced over her shoulder at Mike. He looked like he was ready to explode, and considering his new-found abilities, she wasn't counting it out as a reality, and she quickly flashed him a wink and a pretty smile to show that things were A-OK. She was easily more than a little disappointed that Riza shot down the prospect of a battle, though, but she was sure that their little match the day before would certainly not be the last. She gave a small, quiet sigh, and smiled. "It's fine, don't worry about it." Just like that, all traces of anger had been erased from Kasiya's face. "And Pepper is doing just fine, thanks."

She would have inquired about Riza's newest Pokemon, but Hayley had seemingly popped back to life as the confrontation ended. Kasiya had opened her mouth to answer why they were there in Pewter, but the cheerful brunette didn't give her a chance to get a word in and sudden realization hit Kasiya. Is this what that feels like? she thought, unable to hold back a smile as it wasn't uncommon for her to talk a mile a minute when she was excited as well. She thought back to her own battle against Brock, which felt like it must have occurred about seven or so years ago ((HAH)) and she smiled as she recalled Ariel's sweeping victory. She looked to Mike as Hayley had mentioned showing off their Pokemon, easily able to see the almost pleading look in his eyes, and he didn't have to use words for her to know what he was thinking. "Hold on to that thought, Hayley!" Kasiya giggled, starting off in the direction of the PCs (boy, she sure seemed to be using the things a lot lately) and she was sure Mike was right behind her.

She quickly entered her information and tapped her chin thoughtfully as she decided which Pokemon she wanted to show off. Hiro and Seto were both instantaneous choices, and finally she opted to take out Fang, as well. She also grabbed Rosemary, Leviathan, Flash, Twilight and Nova after opting to leave Adamantine in storage as she wasn't sure how the Tyranitar would react to being around a bunch of new people. She also sent Professor Oak a quick note to let him know she would send them right back, just in case he got uppity about her having out so many Pokemon at once. "All set!" she cheered, following Riza and Hayley outside.

Jaeshan's excitement over buying a new TM for Sigilyph left him completely oblivious to the more playful thoughts going through Ken's head, though as they stepped into the PokeMart, Jae slowed to a stop. That peculiar, familiar feeling had begun to build up in his chest, and he knew for certain that he had done this before. He looked over at Kevin as he mentioned powering up for the gym, and he nodded. "Hey, that sounds excellent," he said, also quite oblivious to the major deviations in the man's character. "That's awfully swell of you to offer," he added as they headed for the TM section, and he paused. Did he actually just say 'swell'?

It didn't take long for him to find the Calm Mind TM he was searching for, and after a moment of thought, he also picked up a Thunderbolt TM (for Magnemite, even though he was sure he'd likely regret it later) and an Ice Beam TM for Bibarel. Only Grotle wouldn't be getting a new move, but Jae knew he'd remedy that soon. Besides, the Grove Pokemon had a good range of moves already, ranging from his Body Slam to Bite to Razor Leaf and Mega Drain. Jaeshan felt oddly embarrassed as he turned over the majority of the money he'd accumulated so far and he quietly wondered if it was really okay to be spending so much. On the other hand, there wasn't really anything he needed, and with the three discs in hand and fully paid for, he exited the store.

"So about that training, then," the blonde teenager said once they were both outside, turning to his newest acquaintance. "You have a place in mind?" He'd already taken Sigilyph's Pokeball from his belt and was holding it up. The thought of taking on the Eterna Gym was exciting, but he definitely wanted to be more prepared first.

"Oh, my." Omelette's overreaction to being tackled Cherubi was rather humorous, and Erika quickly covered her mouth to stifle a quiet laugh. While it was true that many Pokemon loved to show off their skills in battle and take on any opponent that dared challenge them, just the opposite was true as well - some Pokemon didn't like fighting at all. "The little dear," Erika smiled, looking to her own Pokemon. Cherubi looked utterly mortified upon hearing the horrible, agonized wailing made by the Azurill, and the Cherry Pokemon and pivoted on its tiny foot to look at its trainer as though to say "that seriously couldn't have hurt that bad, could it?"

"We'll try something a little different, Cherubi, darling. Let's use Tickle!" Cherubi's worried expression quickly shifted to a more impish one, and it hobbled back over to the Azurill, attempting to tickle Omelette into submission using the tiny twin leaves atop its head.

~The next day~

Today, Ben was on his way to the Mart once again, this time to stock up on some Potions and a good Map Card for his PokeGear. Entering the shop, he smiled when the attendant greeted him before walking around to peruse the aisles. It didn't take him long to find the Potions that he was looking for, and he quickly grabbed two of them. Now that his Pokemon were seeing more battle, he could never be too safe. Turning around to head back toward the front with his merchandise, he picked up the Map Card he was looking for and laid everything on the counter, handing over 1,100 of his money to the man who thanked him and sent him on his way.

Satisfied with his purchases, he packed the Potions away in his bag and stepped outside to load his new Map Card into his PokeGear, grinning as the GPS-like system appeared on the screen. 'Perfect,' he thought. 'Now, at least, I'll know where I'm going.'

Mike let out a snort at Riza's denial to Kasiya's challenge. He would have very much enjoyed watching his girlfriend thrash her into the ground. He hoped anyway, he really had no idea as to how powerful a trainer this girl was. That very well could have been the spark that turned the two girls against each other in the first place. His anger subsided somewhat as Riza changed her tune and he relaxed his grip, letting his fingers dance at his sides to loosen back up. However, after the sweet look from Kasi, Mike found it very difficult to keep up his threatening demeanor even a little bit. "No fair." he mouthed to the girl, trying (and failing) to hide his smile. Okay, maybe the rest of him could chill out as well. Mike let out a soft breath and closed his eyes, feeling the warmth leave his body and go back to normal people temperature. It was still a bit of an adjustment that when he got fired up, he literally got fired up. Now that mommy and daddy had stopped fighting, Hayley ventured out from behind him, affirming a cease-fire. "Sounds good to me." Mike said in reply to Hayley's 'friends' comment. He looked over at Riza, who seemed a bit fidgety still, and gave her a quick nod. After all, he was no stranger to outbursts himself.

Keeping to her now apparent nature as a human-shaped bundle of energy, Hayley asked the pair as to why they were in Pewter. Mike would have replied, if she hadn't skipped ahead to her response and then another sentence. Then another. This girl certainly had energy. In the midst of her talking spree, she suggested a little Pokemon show-and-tell session, and Mike's gaze snapped over to Kasi, already giving her the puppy-dog eyes, begging her to let him show off. His pleading look twisted into a devious smile when he was given the okay, and he practically skipped over to the PC, chuckling darkly as he did. He waited for Kasiya to finish picking her choices (not without admiring her as she leaned forward to use the console), then wiggled his way over to make his once she was done.

"How much do I want to show off?" he asked himself, scrolling through the list of his beloved Pokemon and finding there really was only one answer, and that was 'immensely'. While having more than six Pokemon with him at once wasn't exactly a new practice, he was trying to stick to the rules, so he promised the computer (which elected to remain silent) that it would only be for a few minutes at the most. When all of his Pokemon were in his possession, Mike scooped them up and bounced outside, grinning ear to ear. A bit of smoke trailed behind him as he did.

Once outside, he pulled a bit ahead of the girls and spun around, practically dancing in place. "Okay, so, Hayley, Riza, I would like you to meet some of my strongest Pokemon." He bit his bottom lip in excitement, taking one more look at Kasi before literally tossing the Pokeballs in the air one by one as if he was going to start a juggling act. "Nitro! Portabello! Titanium! Beacon! Shiver! Proton! Felsic! Napalm! Xanthos!" In one flash of light after another, Mike's prized Pokemon appeared behind him, each hitting the ground with relative grace, except for Titanium (who weighed far too much to be elegant) and of course, Beacon (who was, well, Beacon). The boy stood proudly, his arms held out wide, his expression beaming as he displayed the best he had to offer. Titanium leaned forward and scooped the boy up, hoisting him into the air. "I dunno." he said smugly atop his Steelix perch. "I'm not quite sure I could take Brock right now."

Rightly sensing this was a time to look majestic, Nitro stretched his impressive wing span for his new audience, while Felsic, being the only other show-boater, flared his fiery mane. The others simply hung out, even Xanthos, which was odd.

------

Now it was Sasha's turn to pout. If she didn't know better, she would think Erika was trying to tease her! She let out a huff of false annoyance at the Tickle command, but her facade broke when the ferocious battled turned into a giggle-fest. The squeaking, the laughing, the tiny Pokemon! It was simply too cute. Too cute to continue, lest the world might be sundered beneath it. "For z'he good of z'he world! Pistolet à O!"

Between laughing and gasping for air, it was very difficult to summon the strength for the attack. Because of this, Omelette less propelled forth ad rushing stream of water, but more coughed up little water blasts. Like some sort of aquatic shotgun. All in all, it was pretty embarrassing to witness, and Sasha could only imagine how offended the poor Cherubi was at this point.

The raven haired girl felt a little better as the angry tension in the air diffused, and she quickly realized that it was mostly thanks to Kasiya's forgiving nature. 'She could have decked me, and I wouldn't have complained,' Riza thought, still feeling a tad nervous as she flashed apologetic smiles towards both Mike and Hayley. She cast a wary glance at Kasiya, not entirely sure the two of them could actually ever be friends, but she wouldn't argue it, mostly for Hayley's sake. She didn't miss the glance exchanged between Mike and Kass either, and she smirked a bit. There certainly was something between them, that was obvious, though it hadn't been apparent at the beach party. In fact, she couldn't even really recall them being within ten feet of each other for more than a few seconds at a time. Oh well, perhaps she'd learn the whole story in time.

"Whoa there, Hayley, slow down a bit," Riza murmured, as the brunette had her own way of putting everyone at ease and had fired off a string of questions before anyone could really have the mind to answer them. It seemed it had been decided that they'd go outside to show off their Pokemon, something which was just fine with Riza. As she made her way toward the doors, she saw the two lovebirds head off to the PC area, and she smirked again. They certainly made for quite a pair, though her mind kept drifting back to Keegan and what had become of him in all this. Doing so came with pangs of guilt, however, as she thought of Crenu making his way through Mt. Moon to meet her, but she dismissed them. She and the redhead were friends, and nothing more. There was absolutely nothing to feel guilty about as she hadn't done anything wrong.

It was also in that moment that she realized she was still holding Hayley's sketchbook and she started to flip through the pages, her eyes lighting up at just how lifelike Hayley's sketches were. Upon reaching the last pages, however, her brow scrunching in confusion as she saw the depiction of the Snivy. 'What is this?' she thought, glancing up at the brunette. 'Has she been spying on me? What the hell?' She closed the book and handed it back to its rightful owner, putting on a kind smile and deciding to keep her thoughts to herself this time as she figured she was already on thin enough ice with the group and felt no need to alienate herself even further. "Your sketches are amazing, Hayley," she said. "You're really quite talented."

It was shortly thereafter that Mike and Kasiya joined them, and she nodded as Mike chose to be the first to showcase his Pokemon. 'So much for ladies first,' she thought with an amused smile, but it really wasn't a problem and she looked on has he released not six, but nine Pokemon and she named them off as best she could in her mind, having to resort to using her pokedex only a few times. "Wow, Mike," she said, obviously impressed. "That's quite an amazing group you have there!" Her gaze had almost immediately fallen on the Crawdaunt and Typhlosion, finding it somewhat humorous that they had two Pokemon in common. Well, almost two, as Eris was still a Quilava. She herself only had six (well, seven, but she wasn't about to go get Plua just for this) and she felt a little self conscious, but she shrugged it off as she released her team as well. "Akima, Yula, Diemia, Eris, Faustus, and Selena," she said, pointing to the Weavile, Gardevoir, Crawdaunt, Quilava, Dragonair and Snivy as they appeared. They all sensed that they were among some pretty intense company and they all kept in line, at least for about five seconds or so as Eris quickly decided to go off and investigate Felsic, as he seemed very familiar to her somehow. "I also have a Fearow," she added, looking between Kasiya and Hayley and wondering which of them would be next to show off their Pokemon.

'A psychic-type means that Darla's Shadow Ball can be used,' Katie thought as she studied the Smoochum. 'And astonish, too.' She still had her pokedex out to see what moves the little Pokemon could use, and she furrowed her brow a little. The little Kiss Pokemon was also part ice-type. 'Pound, Lick, Sweet Kiss and Powder Snow, at least. And any TMs that Autumn might have taught her.' The orange haired girl put the dex into sleep mode for now as she was sure she'd need it again, and she gave a confident nod. "Okay Darla, start off with Reflect," she called. The little boost to defense couldn't hurt, especially against those pound and lick attacks. The Solosis said nothing and drifted back and forth, the center of her body glowing lightly as a pane of reflective glass appeared in front of her. She then gave a little growl, playing defensive was for chumps!

"Okay Carolyn, then you start off with Calm Mind," Autumn called. The cute little Smoochum did a tiny twirl and and brought her hands up to her chin, eyes glowing faintly as she focused the powers of her mind. She felt stronger, at least mentally, and she clapped her tiny hands, practically daring the Solosis to attack her.

And that is just what Darla did. She didn't wait for Katie to give her a command and she rushed forward, slamming into the Smoochum with her Astonish attack. "Darla!" Katie hollered, stomping a foot. "You're supposed to wait until I tell you to attack!"

By the time that Keegan and Eithne had caught up to Sheena, Boris had been adequately subdued by means of the pink-haired girl's singing Delcatty. "Brilliant, why didn't I think of that?" Keegan murmured as he hopped down from the Arcanine's back. Oh, that's right. His only Pokemon capable of putting others to sleep and already been barbecued past the point of well-done. "Well then, I see you have everything under control," he said, trying not to sound annoyed as the girl recalled the now soundly-sleeping Camerupt to his PokeBall.

Sheena smiled, and gave a sheepish shrug. "Yeah, I guess I... I was scared," she said, looking down at the red and white sphere sadly. "But I couldn't let you chase him down alone! What if Boris had hurt you? I couldn't have lived with myself if it had been my fault." Tears had welled up in her eyes, but she wiped them away. They now held a glimmer of mischief as she looked up at him. "Besides, you're already overqualified when it comes to hurting yourself. Nice job picking a fight with that tree, by the way."

The redhead exhaled sharply through his nose, refusing to look at the girl as his face had become flushed with heat. "Oh, you saw that, did you?" he asked, pretending like he didn't care. "Yeah, the damned thing just came out of nowhere, and yeah. Shut up."

Sheena wasn't even trying to hide her laughter now, and she reached up to touch his cheek. "Out of nowhere, hmm? Ooh, it really got you good, didn't it? Total sucker-punch. We should get you back to Petalburg so we can put some ice on that lip."

"I don't need any ice," the redhead growled, shoving Sheena's hand away. "I'm fine. Let's just go back so I can challenge that damned gym before something else happens."

The pink-haired girl preened. "Are you sure? I can kiss it better for youuuuu~" she practically sang.

"Sheena."

"C'mon Keegan! Lemme make it better!"

"Sheena, knock it the hell off!" She was now standing on tiptoe, playfully trying to kiss him and the next few minutes consisted of Keegan awkwardly trying to prevent that from happening. It was all fun and games until she did manage to touch her lips against his, which was followed by a sudden painful and awkward silence.

"So um, Petalburg City, then?" she asked after a moment or two, her face redder than Keegan's hair.

"...Petalburg City."

Miharu had been busy watching the redheaded girl's Pokemon, so at first she wasn't even aware that she was being spoken to. When she did realize it, however, she managed a small smile and a wave. In all honesty, she would have loved to join Karrigan in some training, but obviously she could not, and she knew the girl was just being polite. "I'll have to decline," she said quietly, giving a polite little bow, "I currently do not have any Pokemon of my own. It is very nice of you to offer, though." Her voice cracked slightly at the end of her sentence, and her gaze drifted to the floor. She hadn't missed the strange look that Karrigan had given her Kadabra, and she frowned. The Psychic-type had probably read her mind and relayed the story to its trainer, which was apparent by the uncomfortable look the redhead now wore. Not that it was a big deal or anything, but the thought of being pitied by others was almost worse than what she'd been through. Okay, so not even close to worse, but she hated being pitied (a trait that seemed to run in the family, it seemed). "It's all right, Karrigan, you couldn't have known," she said, forcing another smile. "I may not have any Pokemon to train, but I wouldn't mind offering some advice, if you'd have it." She had earned six Johto badges, after all.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, Damien spoke up. "I think that would be acceptable," he said, adjusting his egg once more so that he could again polish his glasses. One could only speculate as to just how strong Miharu's Pokemon had been, even if the perpetrator had taken advantage of her after a lengthy and grueling gym battle. It raised the question, at least in Damien's mind, as to just how many badges she had earned, as well. He placed his glasses back on his nose, and proceeded to release his three Pokemon. Drowzee appeared to be asleep on her feet while Gastly inspected Miharu from afar. The bratty little Shroomish simply glared at anything that would make eye contact with her, at least until Damien nudged her with her foot. "How shall we proceed, then?" the dark-haired boy asked. The egg in his arms continued to shake and wriggle, and he was certain he could hear sounds coming from it now, as well. He was no expert, but he was fairly certain that it would be hatching soon; most likely before they arrived in Castelia City.

Jasper had ended up spending a lot more time there in the gym than he wanted to, as it took Ditto more than a few tries to Transform into a golden copy of Falkner's Pidgeot. Using his PokeDex hadn't been helpful, either, as Ditto was quite a bit of a smartass himself, transforming into the device and showing just how unhelpful he could be when he wanted to. Finally, the proper transformation was achieved, and Jasper couldn't help but think what a bad idea this was as he climbed up onto the bird's back, gripping its feathers tightly. "Hey buddy, promise you won't drop me?" Ditto squawked, and nodded. "Can I get that in writing?"

A couple more minutes of psyching themselves up later, Ditto gave his wings a few test flaps and he kicked off, carrying himself and his highly anxious passenger up into the air. A scream of terror was caught in Jasper's throat, but as he was currently holding his breath, it could not escape. As they shot out of the open air gym, however, Jasper exhaled slowly through his nose, looking down at Violet City as it was spread out before them like a picture book. "Okay, why didn't we think of this sooner?" he asked Ditto with a laugh, receiving a chirp in reply. In all the years he and the Terrific Transformer had been together, he'd never thought to have the Pokemon transform into something that could fly with him - not that he'd ever admit that to anyone willingly.

The duo circled the city a few times, enjoying the new-found freedom of flight and also finding that Ditto's confidence seemed to be growing with every pass, but not being an actual Bird Pokemon, he was also starting to grow tired. "Can you make it back to the Pokemon Center?" the bandanna-less boy asked over the whistling of the wind (the headgear had been wisely stored in his pocket as it threatened to blow away on him), and Ditto gave a nod. Using Sprout Tower as a landmark, the pair flew in that direction, and Jasper was truly starting to believe that their first flight was going to end without incident. Jasper was often supernaturally lucky at times, but there were moments where the universe felt the need to even the score, and this would prove to be such a moment. As they flew toward the constantly-swaying tower, they were hit by a strong and sudden blustering wind. While most Bird Pokemon would have known how to handle it, the novice Ditto was easily blown off balance and startled to the point where he shifted back to default-form. This was a terrible inconvenience for Jasper as they were still very high in the air, and finally the scream that had been hiding at the back of Jasper's throat freed itself as the boy and his Ditto plummeted down and landed in the lake of water surrounding the Sprout Tower with a rather impressive splash.

The fact that everyone had agreed to introduce their Pokemon had Hayley all aflutter with excitement - not that she needed the extra incentive - and she darted outside, only vaguely aware of the two veteran trainers making pit-stops before the intended meet-and-greet. She'd turned to look at Riza as she'd started to peek through her sketchbook, and for an anxious moment, the effervescent brunette became still. She knew her drawings were good, but she always felt a little nervous whenever someone new looked through them. She didn't miss the confused look that appeared on Riza's face, and Hayley wondered if the raven-haired girl had found her sketch of Snivy - the fact that she hadn't got the grass type's collar just right still bothered her.

"Thank you, Riza, that's very kind of you," she said, happy to have her precious sketchbook back and she hugged it to her chest like it were a sacred artifact. "Ooh, here they come!" she said excitedly, and it quickly became apparent that Mike was going to be the first to introduce his Pokemon. The brunette's eyes grew wider and wider as each species was introduced, though it was easy to see that her gaze continually drifted back to the boy's Charizard. The only two Pokemon she didn't recognize out of Mike's lineup were the Magnezone and Magmortar, but she'd managed to accurately guess their evolution lineage even as her PokeDex identified them for her. "Oh, Michael! Your Pokemon are absolutely stunning! All of them! They're so healthy! Just look at Nitro's skin for example - he's practically glowing! The marks on your Steelix and Crawdaunt's body show they've been in some serious battles! Your Typhlosion's flames are absolutely perfect! And your Ampharos, he's so... so... adorable!"

The excitable girl babbled on incoherently for a moment, rendered silent only when Riza stepped up to be the next to introduce her party. Again, she was accurately able to name each of her new friend's Pokemon as they appeared, save only for the Weavile, but only because the name had eluded her at the time. "Look how perfectly sharp your Weavile's claws are! And your Gardevoir, so elegant and lovely! Your Crawdaunt, well, she hasn't seen as many battles as Mr. Xanthos over here, but give her time! Your Quilava's fur looks so soft and shiny, she's obviously from very good breeding! And Dragonair... ooh, I've never seen one in person before... he has to be the most beautiful creature I've ever seen!" Lastly, she'd turned to the Snivy, smiling hugely as she studied the shape of its tail - it looked remarkably like Ivy's, right down to the points at the end.

'I wonder if they're related?' she thought as she looked around at all the amazing Pokemon surrounding her, and Kasiya hadn't even had a chance to show off hers - and she had a lot, if the numerous Pokeballs stacked in her arms were any indication. "I guess it's my turn," she said, unable to suppress her giggles as she got set to introduce her team. "Now, we're all pretty new to this, and we're a might small, but we've got heart! Allow me to introduce Cynder, Mya, Tisyphone, Ivy, and lastly but certainly not least, Kaylee!" Almost right away, the young Charmeleon took up a defensive stance, eyes wide with confusion at the many Pokemon surrounding them. He quickly stepped in front of Hayley, meaning to defend her, but he quickly realized that this was a social setting, and not a battle one. The little Rattata had remained glued to Cynder's side while the female Nidoran hid behind her trainer's leg, peeking out fearfully. Ivy and Kaylee immediately shot each other nasty looks, but upon realizing they had company, the Snivy and Pikachu decided to behave themselves. "Isn't this the coolest, Riza? You have a Snivy, and I have a Snivy! Look, the leaves on their tails are identical! Do you think maybe they're sisters or something?" Hayley asked, practically bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet before turning to Kasiya. "It's your turn, Kassie! Do you mind if I call you Kassie? Go for it! We wanna see all your Pokemon!"
