Tegami Bachi Scout [Y'know, Andrew getting hurt wasn't the intention. It was all for humor purposes. But I'll just go along with it.] "No, I'm fine." Andrew sad as he was led off toward the hospital wing. "Jus a- wah!" He yelped as he nearly fell over again. "Okay, maybe I am hurt. But isn't there some sort of spell we can use.?" ((oops sorry...sometimes i take slap-stick humour seriously XD and there's actually a post named the Hospital Wing, post there next)) "There is, but I can't perform any healing spells correctly. After all I'm only a first year. I bet my brother could fix you up easily, but he's sick with a fever right now." She felt sort of guily for 1. causing his accident by calling him over and 2. laughing hysterically. "You left before I could offer you chocolate the other day. You can have some once the nurse heals your ankle if you like." she said as they entered the Hospital Wing.

She wanted some peace and alone time. She needed to get her thoughts straight. Fionna headed towards the familiar tree that she always sat by when on the grounds. The wind shifted and caused her to shiver. The days were starting to get colder, and she was starting to pull out the hoodies and jackets. Fionna sat down on the side that would protect her from the chilling wind. She sighed and sat there for a moment before grabbing out her sketch pad, diary, and favorite book. She certainly was not sure what she had wanted to do, but something would come to her.
Eventually, Fionna picked up her sketchpad. She started drawing at random only to realize that she had begun the formations of herself, Caiden, and Lucas. She wasn't sure why she had begun to draw this, but since she had already begun, Fionna delved into her work. She concentrated on the details in both of them, leaving herself blurry because she always felt like she was terrible at self portraits.

It was a chilly day, and the wind was blowing quite hard around the grounds that day. Caiden had been walking around, carefully surveying the grounds with his jacket zipped up to his neck, protecting him from the wind's force. He had a lot of free time, actually, since he actually buckeled down this year and decided to get his work done first before play, or anything of the like. He was walking by the lake, and he could just tell that the air by the lake was a bit cooler due to the water. It was just that time of year, and he would eventually come to terms with the cooling down of the air.
Caiden kept on walking around the grounds when he spotted a tree, one that he had become very familiar with from the last year. It was a tree he and Sparrow had known very well. As he walked towards it, he began to notice a figure sitting against the tree, sitting with a sketch pad in her lap, and a pencil in her hand. Automatically, Caiden went to turn around, to avoid confronting her. But as he held his back to her, he stopped, and he didn't move. Was it really necessary to avoid her anymore? That could just make things worse. It was a decision he would have to make, but Caiden turned around and started to walk slowly toward the figure. He was ready to just walk around the other side of the tree, but he knew that she would see him either way, and that could make things bad. As he got closer, Caiden found his eyes glued to her hand and the pencil making contact with the paper. It was beautiful to watch. Although he had never really learned anything about artistic ability like he promised himself he would to impress her, Caiden had always found Sparrow's work phenominal.
He came close enough that he had cast a shadow over her, and he took a seat next to her, far enough away that it wouldn't be too strange. Watching her, he noticed that she was shivering. It was an instinct as a boy to take the brunt of any kind of suffering, so Caiden slid off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. "God, you get better at that every time I watch you. I don't know how you do it either." He had been watching her pencil move, and it was just so relaxing. It almost put him in a trance, and it was hard not to watch, to see what she would do next. But, he made himself stop watching to watch her for a moment. "So what are you doing out here on such a chilly day?" He remembered the first time that he was trying to impress Sparrow, and he had brought her out to the quidditch pitch, and he had sang her a song that he had loved so dearly, one that he still loved, regardless of the memories involved with it.

When she noticed the change in lighting, Sparrow jerked her sketchpad to her stomach. She didn't like when people tried to spy on her work and she only relaxed when she looked up to see Caiden. It wasn't a full relaxation, but it was better than some stranger.
Caiden had slipped off his jacket and given it to her. Fionna thought that quite awkward and shifted a bit. He was just being chivalrous. That was fine right? Fionna smiled and said, "Thanks I really need to remember to bring out a jacket with me." Fionna blushed slightly at his compliment and added, "Practice. Lots and lots of practice."She nodded as she said it. There was always something to improve upon in her sketches and paintings.
Fionna was trying to relax and feel comfortable around Caiden again. She wanted to be friends again and to not tense up every time he came near he. The conversation was going well. She hadn't felt the need to suppress any information, but of course they were only about three sentences into it. "I'm just thinking. Needed some quiet and fresh air." She said as she gave Caiden a warm smile. He knew how she liked the outdoors, peace, and quiet.

Caiden could feel the tension between them growing. But, hopefully, that would change over time. He wasn't going to give up this fight until someone told him that he couldn't take it any longer. He had at least twenty more years to go before he couldn't take this any longer. He cared about Sparrow too much to give up. "It's no big deal. I can take the cold. I'm a man." He leaned back a little, plucking his shirt up by his shoulders like guys did to show that they were cool or capable of something. Besides, it was what he would have done for any girl that were cold, not just Sparrow. Of course, Sparrow took precedent over most girls, but that was a different and more complicated story that only Caiden and Sparrow would ever understand. As he let his shoulders droop over a little and he relaxed his neck, he felt much less awkward sitting so close to her. That was a good sign.
He listened to her answer about needing peace and quiet, and nodded. That was actually what he was doing outside. He felt like the man who lived in a log cabin and was in search of complete and total solitude for himself. He remembered reading the book over the summer, and it was the most boring thing he forced himself to read, but it taught him somethings. It taught him that you don't need a lot to be happy, you don't need to be around people all the time, and that it is absolutely possible to grow your own food and to live in the woods. Of course, times have changed, and Henry David Thoreau probably had no idea of the existence of wizards, or he would have had a different perspective on things. "I know the feeling. It's nice to be away from people. I know I'm interrupting, so if you want me to go I can..."
Caiden didn't budge an inch, knowing that he needed to bring something up to her before he left. He just couldn't hold it in anymore. He wanted to apologize, and through this he decided not to make excuses, and to not hide things. He wouldn't talk about Riley if he couldn't help it, and he would only talk if she was ready to, but he just wanted to apologize for what had happened and to ask her for just a little bit of forgiveness. "But before I go... There was something I wanted to talk to you about. It's the only reason I approached you, actually..." Hopefully she would be ready to talk. If not, he could way as long as it took, and he probably would wait.

A genuine smile appeared on her face and she relaxed into the tree that she had stiffened slightly upon. She was still hugging her sketchpad slightly. She didn't really want Caiden seeing that she had been drawing the three of them. She wondered if he already had while coming over to sit. She shrugged off the feeling as she listened to Caiden.
Her smile faltered when Caiden said that he could leave she found herself hoping he would not. It was a friendly want. She wanted to talk and become comfortable around each other again. "Oh no it's fine. Please stay." She said trying to not sound pleading or uninterested at the same time. Her eyes betrayed some of her feelings in this sentence though.
Fionna had a few ideas about what Caiden wanted to say, and some of them she wasn't sure she was ready for. She knew she wasn't ready to talk about Riley or most details about the breakup, but she decided it would be best to dive in and maybe allow Caiden to get something off his mind. She knew it was probably something important to him. "Alright shoot." She said deciding it would be best to allow the conversation and indicated for him to go ahead.

Caiden nodded when she said it was alright for him to stay, and he took a deep breath. This conversation would be very difficult for him to go through, and he knew very well that it wasn't an easy one for Sparrow to go through either, so they were both in the same boat to some extent. He had tensed up enough that he was ready to burst out with everything on his mind, but he knew that doing that would only make the situation worse for the both of them. He wasn't even ready to talk about Riley to Sparrow yet, and that probably meant she wouldn't be comfortable with the situation yet either. "The thing I wanted to talk about..." he trailed off. He wanted to get everything in his head straightened out. He needed to be ready for this, and all of a sudden, he felt like he wasn't ready to talk about it, that he just wasn't ready to let himself be open about everything again. He had already once been torn to shreds by this girl, although it wasn't necessarily her fault in any sense of word. It was his fault for all of it, and he had to take the blame. But he almost wasn't ready to admit any of it. He could feel the emotions stirring inside of him, and he felt nauseated by it all. He had to overcome this though.
Caiden closed his eyes for just a few seconds, and then he decided that it was now or never. He had to try something. "I wanted to say that I am really sorry about what happened. We don't have to talk about it, and I know that it's a shaky ground for the both of us to be on right now, and I completely understand it. But..." He took another moment to think about how he wanted to say all of this. He could feel himself becoming nervous with all of this happening. All he wanted was for her to understand where he was coming from, and to hopefully see light from him. He wasn't a bad person, although everything that had happened had put him in a dark place with her. That was the thing he had to overcome, no matter what happened. "I was hoping that maybe you'd be willing to start our friendship from scratch?" He hadn't even planned to ask that, and it came to a surprise to him when he heard himself say it. He almost wanted to take it back, but now he couldn't. He learned that one the hard way too. Once something was out there, it would never be erased. It was embedded in a mind forever, regardless of how far it was.
Caiden felt the need to explain himself, so he started to speak about what he was feeling, and this was where he could feel himself ramble on and on. She still made him nervous like that, which was the funny part of the whole thing. If she still had any sort of feeling for him, she would probably recognize the rambling immediately. "I mean... I think you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met, and to see you every day and to not be a part of your life is like a kick in the shin. I would do anything to at least be friends with you again." He meant everything he said, which scared him a little. He wasn't sure if she would have any requests, or if she would even agree to any of this. He would be torn yet again if she wasn't willing to try. This was a very difficult moment for the Gryffindor. But, if anything, it proved him worthy of the house. He was confronting his fears, and was overcoming them to some extent. He was destined to be in Gryffindor. It was obvious.

She waited patiently and anxiously between the pauses unsure of where this was going. When Caiden apologized, Fionna hugged her sketchbook a tad tighter, but she remained quiet because he didn't seem finished. She was right, but was completely unprepared for the next comment. It was what she wanted for the most part. Just a friendship. Nothing more.
Fionna was silent and when she was about to respond, Caiden spoke yet again. She recognized his rambling. He did that when he got nervous. She restrained a smile that threatened to overcome her face. Fionna took a deep breathe and thought quickly about everything he had said and how she felt about it. "You don't have to explain. I get it." She paused, not trying to add suspense, but just to think for a moment. "I'd like that. To just try to be friends again." She nodded as she said it and a smile crept slowly onto her face.
Fionna was relieved that Caiden hadn't broached the subject on what had happened. He had mentioned that they both probably weren't ready and it was true. It was good to finally feel relieved that she wouldn't have to worry about awkwardness or nervousness when Caiden was around now. She knew things could never be the same, but hopefully they could be darn close. She had forgiven Caiden. One of her two dramas were at ease, but Lucas was still nagging at her mind. Well Caiden wouldn't have to deal with jealousy because she was still mad at Lucas.

He had braced himself for impact; he was ready for the worst, but it never came. Actually, the best answer he could have been given was handed to him and he should have been relieved. But, the truth in that was that he wasn't relieved. To some extent, he was relieved, but he wasn't fully relieved. A 'no' would have told him that it was over. It would have told him to just stop, and it wasn't worth it, and that he was way over his head. But with the yes, now he had to be friends with her. Yes, that was what he really wanted, and yes, it was one step to telling her the truth, but it was going to be completely agonizing to be near her and to not hold her hand, to not embrace her in a hug or to kiss her. Things were going to be different, and they were going to be difficult. Caiden didn't think this one all the way through. He knew it was his best option though. He wanted to be with her, and if a friendship was the only way to do so, that was where he would stay. Nothing could keep him away from her, regardless of the circumstance.
Caiden let a smile cross his face, although that wasn't truthfully the way he felt about the situation. He knew that being friends was much better than being where he was though, so he decided to take it and never let go of it. "Well... I'm glad then." It would take a lot of getting used to. He almost thought that this situation would take more getting used to that not being friends with her at all. But he would manage. It was, after all, what he asked for and what he wanted. For all he knew, she was just humoring him, and she really didn't want to be friends. Or, maybe she genuinely did, and he gave her something she wanted.
It was something that crossed his mind for just a brief second. He figured that introductions were in order. "Since we are starting from scratch..." Caiden turned himself to face her directly from where he was sitting, and he smiled. He sat up rather straight to show how tall he was, and to show that he could be a polite gentleman. Then, being the smart one he was, he held out his hand and said "It's nice to meet you. I'm Caiden." They had known each other's names, but it was hopefully something humorous enough to get a laugh, or at least a wider smile out of Sparrow. If not, it made him start to laugh under his breath. He did the best to hold it all in though, not to give away that he was faking it, although that aspect was fairly obvious.

She honestly hadn't been totally sure if Caiden had truly wanted to be friends. Her feelings were slightly relieved now, but there was still a bit of her that doubted it. Fionna released her tight hold on her sketchbook and let it fall into her lap assuming a more open body posture.
Confusion crossed Fionna's face as Caiden started his sentence but it quickly turned to a grin followed by laughter. She was still giggling slightly when she said, "A pleasure Caiden! As you may already know I'm..." Fionna paused slightly. Did she want Caiden calling her Fionna? She hadn't exactly heard him say the name like ever, so she had not idea if that would be too weird or not. "...Sparrow." She finished deciding that it wouldn't be right to have him call her Fionna. She just couldn't imagine it. A smile reappeared on her face hoping that she hadn't ruined the joke with her pause.

When she said her name, the name he had been so used to calling her, he actually let her brow furrow. He knew very well that people had been calling her Fionna, not Sparrow, and since that was her real name, it was probably more appropriate anyway. But, he just couldn't understand why she would treat him differently. He smiled, his brow still furrowed, and decided to ask the 'why' behind the Sparrow. "Are you sure, Miss O'Sullivan? Maybe I am thinking of another O'Sullivan that I have heard being called by the name of Fionna. Is it really Sparrow? It's such a marvelous name." That was his way of hinting to her that he preferred calling her Sparrow anyway, but it was up to her.
When the wind became more fierce and Caiden actually shuddered, he wrapped his arms around himself, almost hugging himself in the process. It was actually rather chilly outside, and although he had lived in North Dakota where the winters were nice and snowy, and he got fairly good at some muggles sports such as skiing, he much perferred the warmer, happier weather. He wouldn't take his jacket back from Sparrow though, since she was the one that needed it more. She was more delicate than he was, even though she was a sporty kind of girl. Caiden had gotten taller and more muscular since he had moved from the United States, and he liked it. He had grown an inch or so more over the summer, and that also made him happy, since he was now above the average for males. "I like quidditch, how about you?" he said, keeping up his joke just a little bit. Of course, any other girl would have rolled their eyes at him, but Sparrow was different. She would play along, and that was what cool about her. That, and everything else about her personality and interests.

"Oh I'm the same, but I'd much prefer it if you would call me Sparrow." She managed to say this seriously before another smile crept onto her face. She was just terrible at this, but tried to keep playing along.
Fionna saw Caiden shiver, and wanted to give him back his jacket but knew that he would decline. Even in his jacket, Fionna was still a bit chilly. He was too chivalrous to take it back. It felt weird talking like they didn't know each other. She knew it was all a joke, but it didn't change the feeling. "Oh of course. It's absolutely glorious. I'm actually seeker and captain of the Gryffinclaws." She said getting the fell for giving Caiden more open answers once again. Even though this was partially a joke, it was still a good thing to get comfortable with each other again. {Oh.Oh.See...Oh no it's fine don't worry (: }

He just couldn't do it anymore. He started to laugh, after hearing her laugh for about the millionth time. It was just funny to him, as it should have been. I mean, how long could they have possibly lasted anyway? They knew tons about each other, and they were mostly fun-loving people, so it was bound to break down into laughter eventually. "Well, if you insist..." When he said that, an idea was slowly crawling over his face. If someone were to watch him, they would see the smile slowly stretching, his eyes lighting up, his face just turning into a giant light bulb. He looked at Sparrow and said "Wait! No! I can... like.. Combine the names! You are now... Fiarrow. Or... Sparonnia... Or... Fiarronna... Or... Spionnow.." He couldn't help himself but start to laugh. He loved her two names, and he would only pick on her because she probably knew that it was just him, and he was only messing around.
At the mention of quidditch, something churned inside of him again. He had this feeling of determination inside of him almost. He wasn't sure what to do with himself about it though. "Okay, I can do that anymore... We know way too much about each other to do that," he said with another laugh. He was just full of laughter that day, and he wasn't sure why. It was probably because he was now getting to spend time with one of the people he cared about most. That was most definitely part of it. He rubbed his arms a little bit, knowing that it was hopeless to try to get warm like that.
Caiden leaned forward and stood up, then he put his hand out and said "Maybe we should start heading inside. We could go to the library or the common room if you'd like. It's kind of cold... Unless you want to stay out here. I mean, I know how strong and determined you are. He said all of this in sincerity, but with a warming smile. He wanted Sparrow to know that he was being kind, but he wasn't being pushy and would let her make her own decisions. That was what happened when you were only friends. You could pick on them, you could be nice, but you couldn't be pushy. He knew that. He wasn't generally pushy with Sparrow before the breakup either, but even now, he would let her make her own choices. If she decided to stay outside, that was her choice, and she could just return the jacket when she came back in. They were bound to see each other before the end of the night, and if not, they were going to see each other before the end of tomorrow. It wasn't that difficult.

He had been able to keep the straight face for a while. She just was terrible at that. Fionna had absolutely no poker face. Fionna nodded but abruptly stopped and laughed when Caiden started suggesting combinations of the name. "I'm actually quite a fan of Fiarrow." She said nodding, "Although I'm not sure it should be used." She added with a huge grin spreading across her face.
Fionna knew that was true and that it would never had been able to go very far, but it was a good thing to do. Fionna nodded and said, "Agreed. It wouldn't have gone much farther." The grin was still plastered to her face, and didn't falter when she thought about how he didn't know about recent events that occurred to her. Mainly Lucas. She wasn't sure she wanted him to know either.
Fionna saw Caiden rub his arms and she herself shivered after a gust of wind blew by. She blushed at his comment but continued and said, "It is getting a little too cold for my taste." She was actually more than that, but her mind hadn't really been on that subject. "Let's go to the common room. Sit by the fire." Fionna added as she stuffed her sketchbook into her bag and slung it onto her back.

 You are the biggest nerd...
❀Rose merrily skipped over to the Grounds, checking back at Annalise every once and a while to make sure the new girl didn't get lost. She loved the Grounds. She always came here when she was feeling low or just needed some time away from the magical world. It had taken a few years to find but the girl had found a little place on the grounds where she hid when she wanted to give the world a finger. It was dark and exactly what the girl needed. She spun around in a circle and giggled as her hair because to fall in her face. She tried to blow it out of her eyes, to regain her sight. After a few bursts of air she could see everything again.
She turned back to Annalise, who seemed to be a bit behind. Rose understood she was probably trying to take in all the brilliant scenery around here. Or maybe Rose was just skipping to fast. Or both. She waved to make sure she wasn't lost and smiled largely. " Alright Annalise! So this is the Grounds! Isn't it lovely?" She asked like any truely optimistic "tour guidette" would.❀With thecutest face ((Obsessed-Over-Crissy (OOC):))
