"Yes, he's very feisty," Kasiya giggled, standing up and reaching her hand out to the adorable little Chimp Pokemon. "It's nice to meet you too, Chimchar," she said with a nod. "I hope all the Pokemon in Sinnoh are as adorable as you two are." She turned back to her little Piplup, who was standing right in the same spot, both flippers planted on his hips. He was glaring up at her with a stern look, and Kasiya wondered what his problem was now. "What's the matter, Piplup?" she asked, crouching down so that she was eye-level with the Penguin Pokemon. "Are you jealous or something?"

"Pip," grumbled the little Pokemon, crossing his arms across his chest, which he puffed out again to show his displeasure, and he looked away from the human female, a pale pink tinging his cheeks.

"Aww, don't be jealous, Piplup! I like you just fine! That's why I chose you," she said, pulling the little penguin into her arms and hugging him gently. For a moment or so, Piplup struggled and wiggled in the human's grasp - he'd never let anyone pick him up before - anyone but Professor Rowan. But, her hands were gentle, and her words seemed to echo in his mind as well. She'd chosen him? Did that mean she was going to be his trainer? The idea seemed a little absurd since he'd snubbed every other human that had tried to choose him, but perhaps he could learn to like the idea. Though, there was something about this girl that told him she wasn't a fledgling trainer, and same with the yellow and black trainer. He looked up at Chimchar, wondering if the Chimp felt the same way.

Jaeshan could only watch in amazement as Erika's Victreebel executed what could only be described as one helluva sneak attack. Metang wobbled in midair and floated back, his red eyes wide in a mixture of surprise and annoyance. Sure, his attack had made contact, but he wasn't so sure it did very much. Besides that, the Victreebel's "punch" had hurt that much more. "Shake it off, Metang!" Jaeshan called, determined not to let that first round shake him up, either. "Try a Confusion attack; let's see how they like that." He was sure Erika was too experienced a trainer to continue to spam Sucker Punch over and over again, but he never could be too sure.

The sliver and gold Metang liked the sound of that, as he was more used to using Confusion than Bullet Punch. Raising both sets of golden claws high in the air and unleashed a violet-red aura, its purpose only to unleash a strong, psychic burst-like attack on the Victreebel.
=-=-=-=-=

"Oh my," said Erika, raising her hand to cover her mouth as Metang unleashed a fairly strong-looking Confusion attack, and she knew there wasn't much she could do to stop a Psychic-type attack. The psychic attack hit Victreebel solidly, pushing the Flycatcher Pokemon back several feet. "Psychic-type Pokemon are tricky for Grass-types to deal with," she said lightly, still smiling, "but Steel-types pose an even greater challenge, so we must learn to think outside the box. Victreebel, Stun Spore, if you would."

The Flycatcher Pokemon let out another ear-piercing screech, his tail lashing wildly about. He drew in a stomach-full of air and clamped his mouth shut tightly, hopping a few paces forward before expelling the air in a large burst, bringing with it a rain of highly paralytic, golden spores. That ought to slow them down a bit, Erika thought, continuing to smile calmly.

It was a long and rough journey through the forest Ace, Robin, and Luffy but eventually they made it into the small clearing between the forest and the lab. Once the lab was in sight the ghost pokemon cleared off not liking the sun or wanting to get caught by Professor Rowan. Looking back at the retreating pokemon the trio fell to the ground and started laughing. "Great job back there Ace!" Robin's face was starting to hurt from grinning so wide, or that might be because she had been hit in the face a few times but she didn't care. "Come on let's get inside and get healed and cleaned up." The three of them picked themselves up, well Robin picked Luffy up and they headed inside.

After dropping Ace and Luffy off with Rowan, Ampersand had stepped outside to make a phone call, Robin headed to the bathroom to clean up one more. Heading back out Robin spotted Luffy and Ace sleeping next to each other and she giggled slightly at the cuteness of it. Of course Ace's sleep was unnatural seeing as Ampersand was standing a little ways away, Luffy just had to be tired. Taking out one of her Pokeballs Robin gently placed it on Ace's head and called him into it for the first time. Scooping Luffy up into her arms she headed over to Rowan and gave him a hug. "Thanks for the help Professor, is there anything I can do for you?"

The older man was a bit surprised at the hug but let Robin get it out of her. "There really isn't anything I need right now but I will give you a call how about that Robin?"

Nodding and letting go of Rowan Robin realized she had kinda crushed Luffy in it. "Opps! Sorry Luffy!" Turning to Ampersand, Robin grinned at him. "You ready to go? I need to go get those badges for you."

"Hey I said no pressure." Ampersand held his hands up in his defense. Still the two of them said their goodbyes and they headed out of the city and back towards Jubilife City.

Chimchar nodded at Piplup. There was no way the two of them were just starting out. They had this air about them, something that set them apart from other trainers that they had met. "I suppose it's time for you to meet the gang, huh Chimchar?" He snatched the two Pokeballs off of his belt and tossed them forward. They opened simultaniously and both Cable and Treecko burst forth in a flash of light. Treecko shook her head and stretched. She was glad to be outside again. She saw the Chimchar sitting up on his shoulder and glared at her trainer, before tears welled up in her eyes. Her master had replaced her! With a Fire-type no less! Kilik knelt down to her and picked her up, letting the gecko go onto his other shoulder. "Relax, Treecko. You two will just have to share me." She looked over at Chimchar and smiled a little bit, her tears drying up. . The Fire-type was a little wary about the gecko, able to tell that she was much stronger than he was. However, he smiled back skeptically and turned his attention towards Cable. His eyes widened. Such strength!

Cable stretched and looked up at the sky, then around the field. Wherever he was, it sure was beautiful. His eyes landed on Chimchar's and he flexed. "Eleeeebuuuu!" he said, a few sparks showering off of his body. "That's Cable," Kilik said, pointing to the Electabuzz, "And this is Treecko. She's a little shy but you'll grow on her I'm sure." He looked over at Kasiya and slipped his hands into his pockets. "Think we should head back in?" he asked her, glancing up at the sky, "Or just hop that fence and head back to Jubilife?" he pointed over at the white fence that lined the ranch. . Whoa! This guy was totally serious about taking him! At first, the Chimchar didn't want to go and figured that the boy was just being friendly. But after seeing both Treecko and Cable...the chimp tugged on the boy's collar and started pointing towards the fence as well. "Chim chim Chimchar!" he piped. "Haha, easy there, little guy."

Kasiya felt a slight pang of sadness for Treecko when Kilik let her out of her Pokeball, and she saw the Chimchar that had taken her place on his shoulder. Kilik was able to diffuse the situation pretty quickly, however, and Kasiya smiled, still cuddling the Piplup in her arms. It seemed the little Penguin Pokemon had gotten pretty comfortable there, though he did look up at the big yellow and black Pokemon in amazement before looking back at Kilik. They matched! It was kind of impressive, but the Water-type didn't like the sparks raining down from the Electric-type's body. He'd gotten too close to a Pachirisu once and had gotten the shock of his life, and he intended to never repeat that mistake.

"Hello again, Cable, Treecko," Kasiya said, greeting her friend's two Pokemon happily before looking back at their trainer. "We probably should head back in. Just to let Professor Rowan, well, uh, you know. Know." Besides that, she needed to thank the Professor. He was really sticking his neck out for them by 'giving' them these rare Pokemon, though it wasn't like they didn't deserve them. She remembered well how badly they'd been injured fighting off the Rockets, and she shuddered a bit, causing the Piplup to look up at her.

"Pip?" he asked, a bit concerned.

"Oh, don't worry about me, I'm all right," she said, giving the penguin a reassuring smile. "By the way, I think I've got a perfect name for you," she added, but paused. "That is, of course, if you want to go with me."

The Penguin looked up at her once more, and then back over at Chimchar. It seemed that his friend was eager to go off and train with the yellow and black human, and he was obviously friends with this female human here. He figured that if he didn't go with her, the chances of them ever meeting again were practically slim to none. He clicked his beak and nodded firmly. "Piip-lup."

"Good then," she said, hugging him once more. "My name's Kasiya, and I'm glad that you and I are going to be traveling together. Oh yeah, and I think I'm gonna call you Alphonse, all right?" Alphonse pondered his new name for a moment before nodding again. He liked it - it sounded tough, and kinda foreign. He liked his new trainer's name too, it sounded pretty and seemed to suit her quite well. "Well then, let's go back in to see Professor Rowan. He at least deserves to know that Chimchar and Alphonse are coming with us."

Karrigan nodded at the comment, her eyes following the coin rolling along Venerax's knuckles. It reminded her of her father, as it was a trick he used to do for her all the time when she was little. He was very good at coin tricks and sleight of hand, but that was pretty much it. "Snowpoint City," she answered coolly, "in northern Sinnoh. The ground is always covered in snow up there, it's really quite lovely." Zaira looked up at her trainer, intrigued by the thought of snow. She'd seen it a few times before but didn't care for it much as she found it way too cold. She couldn't imagine the lands being covered in it all the time, though, and she idly wondered if she'd ever see Karrigan's homeland.

"What about you?" Karrigan asked, looking across the table at the gambler. "What city do you label as your hometown?" To be honest, she was mostly interested in how and where he'd obtained that oddly-coloured Porygon, but she knew that asking about Ven's hometown first would probably make for a better segue into the discussion of Pokemon acquisition.

Crush and Tailor walked away from the beach. Leaving behind the remaining corphish to their tussle in the sand. Crush always felt an emptiness in him when he left the ocean behind. His ears were more focused on the fading sound of surf than the chattering of tailor who was excitedly recounting the fight in exaggerated detail.

There route wound up the in amongst the rocks. The great drone of waterfall echoed out of caves among the rocks. "Hey little brah, where's that sound coming from?"

"Oh! That's the Meteor Falls, I can should you it later, its really great to see." Tailor smiled in reply.

Not long after even the drone of the falls was behind them they passed a forest along a well used road. And as they came down the hill, the metropolis of Rustboro City could be seen laid out in old fashioned style. The building rose made of brick and mortar instead of the clean concrete of most larger cities, and the streets and sidewalks were laid brick as well.

"Sinnoh? That is quite a distance away. Have to say I've never been to the region," Venerax said thoughtfully. A city covered in snow, that would explain her somewhat chilly personality. "Myself? I'm from here in Kanto. Born and raised in the shopping center of this region, Celadon City."

He thought for a moment, and then waggled his hand towards a corner of the room. "To the southwest of here, if I've got any amount of my barrings right. You can find almost anything you want there."

He flicked the coin as it reached the pinky end of his knuckles sending it spinning in the air. Then catching on his other hands knuckles and rolling it across that hand, back and forth. "I wasn't much interested in the shopping there though. I was a fan of the Game Corner."

Kilik nodded, agreeing with Kasiya that they should let Rowan at least know that they had befriended the Pokemon and that both were eager to go with the trainers. He recalled Cable and tucked the ball onto his belt. With Chimchar and Treecko on his shoulders, he was ready to go on to Jubilife and get some training done! Oreburgh wasn't too far away from Jubilife either, and that would provide the perfect opportunity to collect his first badge in Sinnoh, as well as get in some vital training for both Chimchar and Treecko. As long as Sinnoh wasn't weird like Johto was, the first Gym was likely a Rock-type Gym. Yet the whole time he was thinking this, he felt a pang in his chest about Mitsu - the poor girl. He definitely had to go check in on her at the Pokemon Center to make sure she was alright. Chimchar's hands clenched on the boy's sleeve. He had a lot of pent up energy that he was just waiting to get out and unleash. The chimp looked over at Piplup and approved of his new name. It was great they decided to go with trainers who were also friends. It would be a different story if Piplup had decided against going with Kasiya - wherever the penguin went, Chimchar went. Treecko yawned and tugged Kilik's collar, pointing down to his belt. She was getting a little sleepy and wanted to nap in her ball.

"Alright, Treecko," Kilik said, pulling the ball up, "Here ya go." She pressed her hand on the button in the middle and got sucked inside. After attaching it to his belt, he looked over at Chimchar. "Looks like it's just me and you." He waved Kasiya to follow him, his long legs carrying him quickly to the side door leading into Rowan's lab. "Rowan!" he called out, "Hope you don't mind us taking Chimchar and Piplup! They grew pretty attached to us outside in the field, and even the feisty little Chimchar of yours is now sitting comfortably on my shoulder!"
PostPosted: Wed May 26, 2010 10:50 am

"Celadon City," Karrigan repeated, her gaze turning towards the bay windows once more. "I've heard of it, it's supposed to be one of the larger cities in Kanto, isn't it?" She wasn't overly familiar with the geography and demographics of this region, but she knew enough of it to know its major cities and landmarks. "That doesn't surprise me. You didn't really strike me as the shopaholic type," she said, lightly petting Zaira, who was still waiting quietly, though Karrigan did hear the Shinx's stomach grumbling a bit. I wonder how much longer Bill and Arturo will be in the kitchen, she thought, more intent on getting on with the task Professor Rowan had set down before her. She wasn't sure what she could learn from Bill, but she figured it would be important.
=-=-=-=-=

Alphonse looked up at Kasiya as she and the black and yellow boy began to make their way back to the lab, a bit of excitement flowing through him. This was it - he and Chimchar were finally leaving this place! He knew he would miss it, though, and he very much hoped that Kasiya would bring him back to visit. He wriggled a bit then, wanting to be put down and Kasiya obliged, figuring she'd coddled him enough for now. The Piplup puffed up his chest and tried to run along behind Kilik, but his stubby little legs weren't so good out of the water and he'd only managed to go several meters before he tripped and face-planted the ground. "Oh no, Alphonse, are you okay?" Kasiya cried, kneeling down beside the fallen Penguin.

"Luuup," Alphonse replied, getting to his feet and brushing the dirt from his body. He stretched a bit and flexed, trying to touch his toes with his flippers as his body relaxed a bit, as well as glowing with a slight blue aura. He stretched once more and took off running again, this time his steps nimble and light.

Kasiya watched the Piplup's actions, intrigued. She laughed and ran after him, as Kilik had gotten pretty far ahead of them. I know that move, she thought as she ran. I'm pretty sure that's Agility! She made a mental note to look it up as they made it back to the lab, and she followed Kilik and Chimchar back inside the side door. By now, Alphonse was looking a bit winded and Kasiya picked him up again, which the penguin did not object to. "Yeah, they seem to like us a lot," she added, not sure what else to say. "We just thought we'd let you know!"

Camerae swiftly retreated into his shell at the behest of his trainer. With nothing soft and squishy to step on, the Ponyta's attack smashed against the Omanyte's shell. Millions of years of evolution were proved fruitless as the pony's hoof strike was reduced down to an annoying click that echoed in the volcano.

Mike smiled as the attack did next to nothing, and ordered another attack. "Water Gun!"

"Ponyta, another Stomp!" The Ponyta struck first, but as Camerae was still in his shell, the attack once again proved ineffective.

"Now Camerae!" Mike yelled. Seconds later, a stream of water gushed out from the opening in the Pokemon's shell, striking the Ponyta in the neck. It reared up and neighed in pain, but Mike knew it was done for. With another Surf attack, the opposing Pokemon was swept away without much effort.

Blaine watched unsurprisingly as his Pokemon was felled. "As I suspected." He said, pushing up his glasses. "You know, for as disturbed as you are, you are quite a formidable trainer." He paused. "Of course, I mean nothing offensive with the 'disturbed' comment."

"I know." Mike said, waving his hands. "Don't worry about it. But Pokemon training has always been a good distraction. Since it requires full focus, other...issues tend to take the back burner." He chuckled, then hurriedly changed the subject. "How bout we have a little fun with this fight?"

"Fun?" Blaine cocked his head to the side ever so slightly. Mike could swear he saw a smile appear on his face. The boy laughed and threw a Pokeball out onto the battlefield. The light dimmed and revealed Napalm, who got into the usual ready stance (for those of you unaware, one arm straight up in the air, while the other out in front, both legs bend and the rest of his body poised for action). "What'dya say?"

"I say that's a splendid idea!" With a flick of his wrist, Blaine released two Pokemon of his own: a Vulpix and a Growlithe. "The challenger makes the first move!" Mike roared with laughter at the offer. "Napalm, Psychic attack the Vulpix! Camerae, Water Gun the Growlithe!"

And more than happily obliged.
PostPosted: Wed May 26, 2010 8:12 pm

"Napalm you gotta protect Camerae!" Mike shouted. "He may be more resistant, but you're a lot faster and stronger than he is!" The Magmar nodded in approval, and took a protective step forward and launched a telekinetic blast at the Vulpix as the Omanyte fired his watery attack at the Growlithe. Both Pokemon dodged out of the way at Blaine's command, and charged. They fanned out to the sides, and approached in a pincer formation. Mike watched as Blaine remained still, only issuing a series of snaps and quick whistles. Interesting Mike thought. Must be an experimental training technique. "Watch out, guys! They're quick!"

Napalm stood his ground in front of Camerae, shifting his gaze back and forth between the two Pokemon. They approached at rapid speed. The Omanyte turned towards the Growlithe and fired another Water Gun. The dog nimbly dodged out of the way and continued to draw closer. Camerae kept firing away at the Growlithe, his aim occasionally hitting its mark. The Growlithe began to pick up speed, and his body began to swirl with fire.

"That's a Flame Wheel! Camerae, Withdraw!" Mike ordered. If Mike knew one thing, it was exactly what Fire Pokemon and fire attacks could do. This bum-rush would have some force behind it, but Camerae could take it. The Omanyte quickly sucked himself into his shell just in time to get smashed by the charging dog and sent bouncing across the arena.

The Vulpix zipped forward, its body trailed by a white light. It was heading straight for Napalm. Napalm readied himself for the attack, but the fox suddenly changed directions and came around the side, smashing into the Magmar's side. Napalm swung wildly, but only hit air. The Vulpix swung around for another pass.

"A Quick Attack!" Mike said. "Napalm, don't try to outspeed it! Wait and grab it!" Napalm widened his stance to steady himself and watched the Vulpix intently. When it rushed forward, the Magmar reached out and grabbed it. Now he had it! Using his superior strength, Napalm swung the fox overhead and slammed it onto the ground. "That's the way! Mike cheered.

"Next to Saffron," He nodded. "There's a big city, plenty of fish. Made some good coin when I was there. Though with more fish comes more sharks if you get my drift."

Venerax stopped almost thoughtfully. The sharks of saffron were one of the reasons he stuck to the smaller cities these days. "Though Silph Co.'s headquarters are located in Saffron."

Bill came out of the kitchen then with another tray with the missing dishes and a pitcher of orange juice. "Well, whatever Arturo is cooking it smells good. I've stopped asking him what it is because he describes it in scientific breakdown." He chuckled as he set out the dishes around the table.

Hearing them yell at him from outside Rowan rolled his eyes in annoyance, honestly you would think that they would be a little more grateful considering he could get into a lot of trouble for this. Stepping outside he eyed the two pokemon both being carried by their respective new trainers. "Well, I never thought I would see that Piplup accept a trainer. Let alone let someone carry it around like that. You must be a truly skilled trainer in order to get it to like you so quickly." Looking over at Kilik and the Chimchar Rowan was a bit surprised as well, he was pretty sure that the fire chimp he was holding was going to be the one to assume power now that Ace was gone, but looking at the way it submitted so easily to a new trainer maybe he was wrong. "I guess I was wrong about that Chimchar." Was all Rowan said before turning around and waving them off. "Go on and have your little adventures. I am sure there is really nothing I can do to pull those pokemon away from you." Stepping back inside the older man shook his head, honestly kids these days has a lot of attitude problems if they didn't get their way.

Back with Robin, Ampersand, and Luffy the trio was heading down the small path to Jubilife, Robin and Ampersand chatting while Luffy slept in her arms. It was turning out to be a pretty nice walk and just as they were about to reach the gates a dirty looking kid ran out in front of them and held out his hand for them to stop.

"Y-your a trainer r-right!" The kid asked trying to catch his breath.

Looking at the kid Robin tilted her head to the side before grinning widely at him. "I sure am, what can I do for ya?"

"Heh, I was wondering if you would do a training battle with me? I just started the other day and there really isn't anyone here to challenge and you look a lot tougher then I am so I figured you would be pretty good to train against."

"Hm, I would love to but we are a bit on a timed schedule," Robin looked over at Ampersand who just shrugged not really caring. " ok then! Boss man says its ok so a quick training match is a ok with me! Whats your name? Mines Robin, Robin Knight!" Behind her Ampersand took Luffy from Robin and backed up to lean against a tree and watch the battle from a distance.

"My name is Evan and I just started yesterday! I only have two pokemon but they are both super cool!" The kid, now named Evan seemed really proud of his two pokemon and Robin really liked that.

Fishing through her pokeballs Robin wondered who she should use against the kid. Luffy was out of the question, Ace was still sleeping though it would be a good idea to go into battle with him before the gym came up though. Slowpoke needed training but he wasn't exactly the best for a training match, that and she wasn't sure if he would understand what that meant. That left Brook and Raz, debating it for a moment Robin finally made her decision and reached for Raz's parkball. "All right Raz let's go!"

Across from her the Evan was releasing some weird looking grey cat thing. "Ok Mittens let's go!"

Not sure what it was Robin pulled out her pokedex and scanned it in, behind her Raz landed on her shoulder looking at the new info as well. It was called a Glameow and it was kinda cute looking? It had a cool spring tail. "Ok, Raz this is just a training match so lets not go all out on the pain ok?" Raz nodded and buzzed back over to the impromptu battlefield.

Karrigan tilted her head a little in confusion, not sure if she fully understood Venerax's metaphor. She'd heard of Silph Co. as well, as it was a rather large company with many smaller corporations and branches attached to it. They were responsible for a lot of new high-tech products and breakthroughs so it was hard for most people to not know of them. Zaira perked up her head as Bill came back into the room, and she put her paws up on the table to get a better look at what he was doing. She'd taken quite a liking to the youthful researcher, and she probably would have jumped right up on the table to go see him had Karrigan not been holding her fairly tightly. "Zaira, down," she said, and the Shinx gave a small mew before doing just that, but her tail was flicking back and forth, a sign of her pent-up energy. Perhaps a bit of training after breakfast will pend some of your boundless energy, Karrigan thought.
=-=-=-=-=

"Oh crap," Jaeshan grumbled the moment he heard the command leave Erika's lips. He'd raised a Victreebel too, show how could he have possibly forgotten that it could use both Stun Spore and Sleep Powder as well as Poisonpowder and a plethora of other Poison-type attacks. The blonde refrained from smacking himself in the forehead for forgetting such a vital fact about a Pokemon he owned, and instead looked back at Metang, who'd received a face-full of glittering spores. Despite being made of solid steel, the spores took effect, and suddenly he felt his body seizing up on him. "Crap, crap, crap," Jaeshan muttered, hoping Erika didn't hear him as he scratched the back of his head.

"Okay Metang, try a Metal Claw," he called, knowing it was a fairly basic move for the Iron Claw Pokemon to use. Just don't be paralyzed, he thought, crossing his fingers behind his back. Metang blinked a few times, and moved his arms around. He didn't feel any different, at least not yet, so he complied with his trainer's command and flew forward, rearing back to strike at the Victreebel with sharp, glistening claws.
=-=-=-=-=

Erika raised her hand to cover her mouth as she giggled, slightly amused by Jaeshan's reaction. She wasn't sure why he seemed to be so annoyed at himself, but she figured there must be a good reason. I admire his spirit, she thought as the shiny Metang sped forward, claws raised and ready to strike. "Victreebel, it's time to show off your moves. Dodge, and use Swords Dance, please."

The Flycatcher Pokemon squealed happily, as this seemed like a good idea to him. His vine-like tail snapped like a whip behind him and he hopped sideways as the Metang came toward him, finding it easy to evade as the paralysis had made the Iron Claw Pokemon's movements somewhat sluggish and predictable. Victreebel began to twirl and dance on the spot, his large leaves giving off a reddish glow as his attack power was greatly enhanced. "Nicely done," Erika commented, clapping. "Now we will show them the true power of the Grass-type!"

Kasiya beamed happily at the Professor, inadvertently hugging Alphonse a little tighter to her chest. The Piplup gasped and wriggled until the girl loosened her grip again, and he puffed out his chest looked up at the professor, nodding once. He liked this girl, and he was sure that by going with her, not only would he be able to stay close to his friend Chimchar, but she would help him to get plenty stronger, too. "Thank you so much, Professor," Kasiya said, bowing respectfully. "I promise I'll take good care of this Piplup!" She waved at the older man as he left them, and she looked over at Kilik and grinned. "We're pretty lucky, aren't we?" She nuzzled Alphonse's head again, looking over as a younger man in a lab coat, possibly an assistant of Rowan's, had come over to them.

"If you're taking those Pokemon, you'll need their Pokeballs," he said, handing a red and white sphere to both Kasiya and Kilik. "And good luck, to both of you." He gave a slight bow before turning to leave.

"Thanks," Kasiya called after him as he hurried away, presumably to continue with his research duties. "This makes it official," she added, showing Alphonse the Pokeball. The Piplup sniffed at it, and scoffed. If she thought he was going in that thing, she had another thing coming! To his surprise, however, she simply made the ball smaller and put it in her pocket. "I need to get back to Jubilife now," she murmured, looking up at the ceiling. I owe Sasha big time for running out on her, and Keegan too. I really need to think things through before acting... but I did get an adorable new Pokemon out of it, so first, I need to get to a Pokemon Center, and then see if I can find a wild Pokemon for Alphonse to battle. I can't wait to see what he can do!

"Nice moves," Jaeshan commented, quite impressed at how quickly Erika's Victreebel was able to move. He was a little more wary of it now that he knew its attack power had been boosted, but he had also decided to make a mental note of its ability to learn both Sucker Punch and Swords Dance, as he thought that both moves would be quite handy for his Victreebel to have as well. "Hang in there, Metang, we're not finished yet," he called out, hoping his luck would hold out for now, at least. He really didn't like being the first trainer to lose a Pokemon, especially in a big match like this one. "Let's try another Confusion!"

Metang had floated backwards after having his Metal Claw had been evaded, and he also noticed that the golden spores were no longer clinging to his metallic body. That didn't mean it hadn't affected him, though, and suddenly he felt his whole body lock up on him. As hard as he tried, he couldn't even manage to pull off the Confusion attack Jaeshan had asked for.

"Oh dear, it seems the Stun Spores have taken effect," Erika observed, though it was unclear if she was upset or happy about this turn of events. She carefully adjusted the headband she wore to keep her hair out of her face, and looked back to her Pokemon. "Another Swords Dance if you please, Victreebel." She quickly glanced back across the field at her opponent, fairly certain that he had not yet shown her his best.

Victreebel turned around on the spot his tail coiling about him like a gymnast's ribbon. His leaves danced and swayed along with him, once again glowing with a crimson tinge, enhancing the look of the Swords Dance. Perhaps some day we should try our hand at contests, Erika mused to herself.

Camerae rolled along the ground, the Growlithe nipping at the Omanyte's metaphorical heels.

"Fight back Camerae!" Mike shouted. His voice was stern, but supportive. "Bite him!"

Camerae popped out of his shell and lifted up his tentacles. With an angry gurgle he latched onto the Growlithe. It howled in pain and picked up speed, trying to shake off the shellfish.

"Wait, does Omanyte even have teeth?" Mike asked.

The Vulpix squirmed in Napalm's grip, but the Magmar held on tight. "Vull!" it cried, its little paws swiping at Napalm's face.

"Hold on tight, Napalm!" Mike yelled, holding out his right fist and closing it strongly. "Fire attacks won't work on it, so give it a Brick Break!" He thrust his other fist forward in a chop. Napalm straightened his hand and lifted it above his head. With a loud grunt, the Magmar swung his now glowing hand down onto the fox's forehead.

Blaine figured it was time to stop with the snaps and whistles. Seeing that Mike was taking no prisoners, he would have to step things up. "Vulpix! Confuse Ray!"

"You too Napalm!" Both Pokemon's eyes lit up in an eerie blue light as they channeled their attacks.
