Salazar smiled at the two. "I don't have any books tonight, but tomorrow the three of us could go out and buy some books. And we could get Eve some more pencils and crayons."

"Yay!" Eve cheered, following up by saying very enthusiastically "Thank you Mr.Neri!"
Ivy's concerned look faded, and slowly, after a few moments, she smiled.
They both had never heard the word 'buy' before, at least, neither of them could remember having heard that word before. However, it was easy enough for them both to assume the word 'buy' meant the same as the word 'get'.
"Thank you Mr.Neri!" Both girls said together at the same time, both looking at him with happy faces.

"You're welcome girls." Salazar replied, his face equally as happy. Their meals came shortly after this conversation and again it was question time. "I didn't know what you girls would like. So tell me if it tastes good?"

Both the girls looked at the sandwiches with some kind of fascination. They both picked up their sandwiches at the same time and, looking at each other hesitantly as if asking each other for permission... took a bite.
"Wunderbar!" They both shouted, Eve with a super happy expression and Ivy with a curious shocked one.
Eve dug into her sandwich, eating it quickly, where as Ivy took her time to enjoy it.

Glad the the girls were enjoy themselves, Salazar ate up his sandwich with haste. When the meal was done, he paid and the three of them were off to a local inn to stay the night. "I haven't got a real place to live yet, but we'll have one by tomorrow okay?"

The girls nodded their heads silently, Eve smiling and Ivy with a usual rather casual expression. They were use to not questioning things that were told to them.
They both held onto Salazar's hands as they walked into inn. Everything was so new to them... Eve looked around with eyes wide and in awe at everything, and Ivy's eyes were just the same.

Salazar paid for the room, two beds and what not, and led the girls upstairs. He started to unpack his bag, leaving the claws out of sight. After he was done, he sat on his bed and looked at his daughters. They were his, other parents or not, he would raise them, he would keep them safe. "What time do you girls usually go to bed?"

They both were sitting on the bed silently next to each other, with their legs danging over the edge facing Salazar. When Mr.Neri asked, the two girls looked at each other and Ivy jumped down off the bed and ran over to him.
Ivy looked around the room and pointed to a clock on the wall. "When the long line touches '9'." She said. Lowering her arm, she looked up at Salazar for a moment silently, almost a look of sadness or deep thought on her little innocent face. Ivy blinked her eyes, then took one of his hands in hers and jumped up on the bed and sat next to him, wrapping her arms around one of his arms and resting her head against his arm.
Eve ran over and did the same thing, jumping up on the mattress and clinging onto his other arm, not wanting to feel left out. She looked up at Mr.Neri smiling.

Sal couldn't help but giving the two a hug and just sitting with them for a while. It had been a few minutes when he looked back up at the clock. It was getting close to nine, and he still had things that would need to be done tonight. "Alright, girls. We have a big day tomorrow so let's hit the hay." Salazar wasn't really sure how to go about this, seeing as this was his first day as a dad. In the end he decided he would let them decide.

"Alright." They both answered in unison.
Eve hugged him as tight as she could around his waist, "Good night, Mr.Neri!" She jumped off the mattress and was about to run off to bed when she stopped and turned around to wait on Ivy.
Ivy hugged Salazar lightly and looked up at him with questioning eyes. Jumping down, she took her sister's hand and bowed slightly, "Goodnight Mr.Neri."
Running over to the other mattress and jumping up onto the bed, they both pulled back the sheets and tucked themselves in. The slept right next to each other with their backs touching, facing in opposite directions. Ivy faced Salazar and Eve faced the other way, since they were use to Ivy sleeping on the right side and Eve sleeping on the left. The two little girls closed their eyes and tried to go to sleep.

Salazar followed suit and got a few hours in before midnight. When 12:00 roiled around he quietly got out of bed and snuck out the door. Leaving a simple note for Ivy if she awoke. There was much that would need to be done tonight.

A couple hours later the deed was done and he was loading the bodies into the furnace. There had been minimal blood, he had been extra careful in his clean up. Warwick had not given him near enough money to rent out an apartment for the month, let alone money for food, clothes, etc... So he just found the nearest house and went wild. There were only two in the home, a newlywed couple by the look of them. The MO was strangulation, not his favorite method but it was the cleanest. One the two were dead he ran them down to the furnace, leaving them there while he grabbed all the valuables. Now he tossed the last body in, watching it burn with a sickening smell. All that was left to do was to find a night dealer that he could trade this stuff in to. Yep, it had been a productive night.

Finally, Salazar opened the door to his room at the inn and plopped down on the bed, tired. Not that he would get any sleep, the sun was going to rise in about ten minutes. He looked over at the girls and smiled. Happy that they would have somewhere good to stay. Still smiling, he closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep.

Both the girls woke up just minutes after Salazar walked in. Their eyes slowly opened and they both sat up in bed, rubbing their eyes. After a few minutes, they turned their little heads over at Salazar. Eve whispered something in Ivy's ear, which Ivy turned around and seemed to protest. But then Eve took both of Ivy's hands in hers and gave a really pathetic, puppy-dog pleading look. Letting out a silent sigh, Ivy tried to look away, but finally gave a silent nod in agreement.
Silent as mice, they snuck out of the bed and tiptoed across the room to Salazar's bed. Ivy took the furthest side, and Eve took the nearest one. Both peeking their little heads up above the edge of the mattress, they nodded at each other and then sunk back down. "One....two.... three!" The little girls whispered. On 'three', they jumped up on the bed on either side of Mr.Neri and glomped him!
Eve laughed sweetly and then said, wrapping her arms around him and laying down on her stomach, "Good morning Mr.Neri!"
Ivy hugged Salazar and then sat up with her legs under her, and tilted her head saying, "Good morning Mr.Neri." A small smile lit up her face.
The girls were use to getting up at the crack of dawn, so that was really nothing new to them.

Salazar would have panicked if it were not for the fact that he was already awake when the girls glomped him. Laughing he got up from the bed and rubbed his eyes. "Good morning girls. Didi you sleep well?"

"Good, now..." He was going to say something like get dressed, but he realized that they didn't have any clothes other than their uniforms. "First things first, let's go get you two some new clothes."
