The dream wouldn't go away, Venerax woke up once again. That's the fourth time. He licked his lips. I'm not going to get anymore sleep tonight.
He sighed and leaned his head against the tree. Well, I'm not just going to sit here, we've got to get to Cinnabar Island. Lightning lit up the world, followed by the growls of thunder. All the more reason not to say.
Venerax stood up hefting his backpack onto shoulder. Then he reached to his side, and took up one of his Pokeballs. "Hoothoot come out." Another flash of lightning strike, covered his eyes as he caught the owls pokeball back in his hand. The Hoothoot looked about not sure where it was, and quickly getting drenched.
"Look I know we don't know each other all that well, but I need you to be my eyes." Venerax watched the Hoothoot. It eyed him up and down. Then fflutter up onto Venerax's shoulder, where Venerax pulled his jacket over top of him. Protecting him slightly from the rain. "Thanks. We'll get to know each other better after we find a dry place to rest."
"Hoo." And they started out into the storm.

"But of course," she laughed, and bent down and hugged Nitro. "And you can come too, Mr. Karate king."
"Pika pi!" Shocker hugged the Charmeleon's leg.

Nitro put his hand on the Pikachu's head, then walked alongside Mike, his steps akward, because of the Pokemon clinging to his leg. How have you been Shocker? It's been a while since I talked to you last.
Mike walked alongside Kasiya, occasionally glancing over and smiling. "So how are things?" He asked with a grin.

"Things...things could be better," she admitted, casting a sidelong glance at him. "Just some family stuff, really. I felt I had to get away, and so I did. That's why I'm here in Hoenn."
Shocker let go of the Charmeleon's leg and walked beside him. "Things have been pretty great," the Pikachu boasted. "I've never been able to store or use so much electricity before."

"Ah, I see, don't worry about it, those issues tend to work themselves out." Mike walked along the sandy beach, taking in the fresh air. "Well I'm really glad you came here, me and Mitsu love your company."
Nitro gave a toothy grin to Shocker. Oh really? That's excellent, just wait untill you evolve, things will get even more...erm, shocking. He sighed, thinking of his next form. Charizard... Nitro said to himself.

The girls sat down on adjacent beds, and Nina let out a deep, lovelorn sigh; Sabrina held back a laugh. "He's just so... ahh. I don't know. I could stare into his eyes all day long..."
Sabrina burst, and let out a loud laugh. "Nina, you're such a hopeless romantic! I'm sorry, but I can't help to laugh-- you're swooning over someone you just met earlier today!" Nina grinned a little bit as her response, as she couldn't think of a witty reply.
"I'm sorry," Sabrina said, her laughing dying down, "I think it's really cute that you like him." Nina's grin spread. "It's okay," she replied, "I was kind of pathetic back there, stammering and stuttering and all that... You think he can tell I like him?" Sabrina nodded. "Yeah. Just a little."
Nina smiled, turning a little red. It was a few minutes later that Nurse Joy opened the door and said, "Miss Nina, your Pokemon are ready."
Miss Nina... She chuckled a little. "Thank you very much, Nurse Joy." Nina walked out of the guest room and released Mihoshi and Anna, before returning to the guest room. Mihoshi was in Nina's arms and Anna was faithfully at her side as she sat back down on the bed.
"Nina," Anna said, "if you really like Raimundo, you should tell him!" Nina replied, "Anna, I've hardly met him! I can't tell him that..." She blinked. "How did you even know I liked him?" Anna grinned. "Mind reading, dear."

"Thanks," Kasiya looked down at the ground, not sure of what to say next. Then, she reached into her pocket and pulled the Moon Stone out. "I've got something for you," she said, grinning.
"Evolve?" Shocker nearly stopped in her tracks. "To tell you the truth, I never really thought about what it would be like to become a Raichu. I know they're bigger and more powerful than Pikachu like me, but I am very happy in this form. And besides," she looked over at Kasiya. "how can I fit on her head if I get that big?"

Mike looked down at the Moonstone. "Ah, aha, I didn't think you'd-You didn't need to-I...thanks Kasiya!" Mike happily accepted the Moonstone. "Now I need to get you something, hm..." A smirk fell across his face as he reached into his backpack, pulling out a flower, similer to the one he gave Mistu. "I'm giving one to all my friends, I really hope you like it!"
I hear Raichu are still really small, only about 2 feet, only half the size of me. To tell you the truth, I think you will make an excellent Raichu. Nitro was still half in dreamland, awaiting the growth of his wings. It's up to you, but I'm all for evolving, I think it's a great idea.

"It's beautiful," she gasped, and wove it into her hair. "There," she laughed. "Now I'm just like one of those island girls."
"You think so?" Shocker asked. "Maybe I will then...someday. But first, I have one thing left to accomplish. The town where Kassie comes from, the Gym Leader has a Raichu. I want to beat him myself before I evolve." She looked up at the Charmeleon. "When you become a Charizard, I want to go for a ride." Her eyes were full of respect.

Mike smiled at Kasiya's new hair accsesory. "I'm glad you like it." He stopped for a moment and stared off at the ocean. There's Mt. Ember... Mike thought of his hometown and all the people that were rooting for him. I mustn't let them down, I will be Champion, just you wait!
A respectable request, that would be a sight to see, I'm sure you can pull it off. But remember, if you ever need help, my Pokeball is the farthest to the right on Mike's belt. Nitro winked at his friend, and gave a cheerful thumbs up. I'll be sure you are one of the first to get one. He smiled at Shocker's respectful gaze and patted her head.

Nina, Sabrina, and Anna had idly chatted about various things, ranging from Raimundo to Pokemon, and before they had known it, quite a bit of time had passed.
"Nina, we should be going off to Cianwood City; with all of this rain that's going on, the seas could become dangerous." Nina nodded. "Right. Let's be off, then." They left the Pokemon Center, and started to head toward Route 38, but a thought had stuck her. "Oh no... I just remembered that in Chuck's gym, there are large boulders that need to be moved about... and I don't have the strength HM or the badge to use it! Now we have to go back to Goldenrod..." She rolled her eyes. "Ugh..."
It was only a few minutes later that Nina and Sabrina had started sprinting back toward Goldenrod City. The rain didn't hinder them at all.

While Mike stared off into space, Kasiya kicked off her shoes and started to walk along the shoreline, letting the cold water run over her toes. The water felt really nice and refreshing. I wish I could wash away all my troubles, she thought. But at least I know I won't stay mad forever.
Shocker didn't say anything, only watched her trainer playing in the water. Did she really want to evolve? This was a completely new concept for her. She remembered the day Ariel had evolved - and it was completely by accident. Her evolution could have gone several ways - and now she was a Vaporeon. The Pikachu looked over at Kasiya's bag, thinking about the Thunderstone she knew was concealed within.

Nitro shrugged, and walked into the water, only inches deep. This isn't so bad... He looked around and saw a small wave heading towards him "Chaaaaaaaaaaar!" He shrieked and ran out, hiding behind Mike's leg.
This little action snapped Mike out of his daydream, and he clutched a Pokeball in his hands. "Come on out Shiver!" He tossed the ball into the drink, and the Cloyster was happily greeted by rushing waters.
"Cloooyster!" Oh man, every time Mike sends me out, it's always in the water! Shiver playfully splashed around, overjoyed feeling right at home.

It wasn't even five minutes later that the girls had arrived back in Goldenrod City, and although they were tired, they kept running until they got to the gym. They stopped at the front door, and regained their bearings.
"Huhh... whoo... hah. I haven't run so fast in quite awhile." Nina put her hand on her stomach, as she was developing a slight cramp.
"Well... huh... Whitney's a somewhat easy gym leader to beat... just keep attacking her and... phew. Don't ever stop. Her Miltank becomes a powerhouse if given time."
Nina nodded. "Right. So I just need to beat her, then we'll collect HM 04 in Olivine City before we leave for Cianwood..." She looked up to the sky. "We really need to hurry. The rain's getting worse."
Nina, Sabrina, Anna, and Mihoshi entered the gym. After going through a confusing maze of flowers, Nina found the gym leader.
"Whitney!" Nina said, "I'm here to challenge you for a Plainbadge!"
Whitney shrugged a little. "All right," she replied, "but don't you cry when I beat you!" Nina blinked and shook the taunt off. They were led to their fighting arena, and the referee told them the rules. "You are each allowed to use two Pokemon. The challenger may switch Pokemon if desired, but the gym leader may not. Are you both ready?" Whitney nodded, a Pokeball in her hand. Nina nodded as well.
"All right, then... this match has begun!"

The rain made it difficult see. Though the lightning did help, it didn't help boast Venerax's confidence. Boulders and cliffs were everywhere. If it weren't for the Hoothoot on his shoulder he would have fallen too many times to count. Thinking of falling, brought the dream to mind, and he shivered in spite of himself. When we get to Pewter, I'm stopping dream or no dream. We can't go any further in this.
Lightning flashed once again followed by the chorus of thunder.
