"Work? Well.." Vilya tried her best to explain in terms of woodpeckers and hoped that it would be enough. "It basically draws on your strength gradually and reduces strain on your body."
Vilya grinned at Damiano's answer. "Its alright, you're not the first on this voyage." She motioned toward the stairs that led to the crew's quarters where Sai was still sound asleep.
Captain Carryway strode back onto the main deck, congratulating his men on a job well done. "'At was an impressive battle." He said with honest admiration when he reached the three combatants. "It should be smooth sailin' from now on. Best sit tight an' rest awhile, I'll have food brought to ye."
The captain was as good as his word. Vilya was amazed at the supplies the ship had. Tura and the other creatures were supplied with food as well. The gryphon selected a large piece of smoked venison and sat in a corner, saying nothing until she had finished. Vilya chose bread and a few pieces of exotic fruit that she had never encountered before. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. Vilya wondered in Tura's mind.

After having slept for a an hour or so Sai awoke. He remembered the fatigue and pain that he had felt when he had passed out and was surprised that he no longer felt either. He was incredibly hungry though. He opened his eyes and looked up at the wooden ceiling of the ships interior. He called out.
Stratus responded.
Sai rolled off of his cot and onto his feet. He pulled his shirt, which was quite sliced up, back on. He followed that with his jacket, which he left open, his cloak he picked up but did not put on. He glanced around a bit and then thought to his partner.
Sai exited the small cabin and took the stairs that he found out in the narrow hallway. He emerged onto the deck and found Stratus right away. He went over to him and gently, affectionately, gave him a tap on his large feathered shoulder with his knuckles.
"Hey, buddy."
"You hungry?"
"Alright. Well, I'm gonna get some food." Sai said. He wrapped his cloak around his staff, which Stratus had leaned against the rail of the ship, and put it back against the rail. He slipped his sword into his belt and with another rap against his partners shoulder he walked over to the table with all of the food where he began helping himself to bread, cheese, and meat in generous portions.

"Well, look who decided to join the living!" Vilya laughed and waved to Sai. She watched him sheath his sword and looked at her own ruined blade. She drew it and examined the edge..or what was left of it. "I can't believe this happened..."
"I just hope there's a good smith in this city we're going to." She said aloud, resting the melted scimitar in front of her.

"Mmfgmm." Sai called out to Vilya with a small loaf of bread in one hand and a wedge of cheese in the other. He finished chewing and swallowed his bite of bread. "Hey, how are you? It was pretty wild there for a while, I kinda lost track of everyone." He said with worry in his voice as he walked up to her.

((I'm back, muahahaha))
“Sorry if I partially doubt what you say, but it can't be helped. Now be on you best behavior little girl.” He chuckled looking over at her and a few moments after that he pulled open the heavy iron doors and walked inside. The tavern was quite and aside from the few people at the bar enjoying a meal only the older woman who looked to be in her early sixties was the only other inhabitant. She looked to the door at Raidek and Jania as they were coming in.
“Rai!” The older lady came out from behind the counter as fast as she could towards Raidek.
“Hey Linda, how've things been.”
“How've things been, you know the answer to that already, the cities bustling with people in a hurry.” She chuckled and wrapped her arms around Raidek as if he were one of her own children. “How've you been?” Linda's eye caught Jania, “And who is this adorable little one?” She smiled warmly and crouched down to Jania's height, both hands on her knees.
“I've been good, and her, she just been following me around for a while now.”
“Poor thing, you look starved half to death,” she chuckled, “Let me fix you up something to eat, what would you like?”

"I'll just have whatever you have extra of, miss," Jania said as innocently has possible. For effect she clutched onto Raidek's close with one hand and moved a litte closer, surveying her surroundings almost wide eyed. "I don't want to be a bother to the granny Uncle Rai has been talking about."

Raidek had to stifle a laugh when he heard Jania refer to him as "Uncle Rai" and was sure that it wasn't really noticeable.
Linda stood up, a smile on her face, "Been talkin' about me eh Rai?"
"You know me Linda, just can't stop talkin' bout you." He gave a slight laught.
Linda laughed, turning around and heading for the kitchen, "I'll whip you up some chicken and mashed potatoes."
Raidek looked to Jania, "Your lucky you know that, Linda's cooking is some of the best I've ever had." He laughed again thinking about the whole "Uncle Rai" comment. "Come on Jani lets have a seat." Raidek walked over to a nearby table and sat down.

Kin had put off his reply to Vilya from before about the spell she could teach him, but he now approached Sai and Vilya who were eat and sat down.
Kin looked at Sai and then to Vilya, not really knowing where to start. Starting conversations with people weren't his strong point, neither were social skills in general.
"Vilya, I'm going to have to decline your offer. I dislike accepting assistance from others. It's my problem." Kin said firmly. Plus I can't trust anyone. Kin added in thought.
(( UGH! I didn't know Griffin returned. I'm very truly immensely sorry. ))

((No worries Azure ^^))
"I'm alive." She smiled. "Tura got a bit scratched up but she's all right." She thought of the pirate she killed, and gave an involuntary shiver. "I've never fought like that before...it's always been in combatant matches. But hey, you were the one on the ship." She stood up and crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow at him. "That was pretty crazy...both of you." She finished as Kin walked up to them. She nodded slowly as Kin spoke. "I think I can understand that."
"I SEE IT CAP'N!!" The lookout bellowed from the crow's nest high above them. Just then Carryway pushed past and pulled a copper spyglass from one of his massive coat pockets. "Aye, we're here! All hands to stations, get ready fer a lot 'o' fun!!
Vilya looked to the bow and her smile vanished. Before them, turning silently in the distance was a massive tornado. From this far away it looked harmless, but Vilya could see the rate at which it pulled nearby clouds into its centre. Her gaze shot towards the captain, who still stood with his spyglass to his eye, grinning like a madman. "W-wait..we're not actually going in that...are we?"
"Oh aye lass, no other way te get te the floatn' city."
Even now the wind began to pick up, blowing Vilya's hair into her face with growing ferocity. "Oh boy."

"Oh, hell... This isn't gonna be fun is it?" Sai asked to nobody in particular. He turned to Stratus, who was resting on the deck of the ship looking up at the whirlwind. "Buddy, maybe you'd better get back in your stone. Don't want you getting blown away. Besides, if we get separated who's save me when I get blown away?"
Stratus responded.

Kin stared up at the sky with a bored expression and then looked to Sai who appeared to be worried. "It's just wind..." Kin said very bluntly.
Vix slithered up next to Kin and then unsummoned back into his stone.
"Ehhh..." Kin gave an irritated and confused look at Sai after seeing Vix retreat inside his stone just as Status had did.
Kin scolded Vix for making him look foolish after stating the storm was no problem.
Vix admitted.

Jania stayed close to Raidek until the got their seat. She sat down and laid a cloth from one of her pockets out on her lap then looked intently at Raidek. "I told you i could fit into a role," she muttered quietly. "Though i was hoping the granny bit would make her mad at you."

"Why would that make her mad at me?" He laughed a bit, "After all..." Raidek smirked behind the mask. "Your just a kid."

Tura faded in a stream of purple light and Vilya gathered up her blade, sheathing it carefully. Carryway ran about bellowing orders, he hardly seemed to notice the combatants at this point. Vilya could not help noticing the broad grin on his face. It wasn't long before the wind was powerful enough to begin lifting things off the deck. An unfortunate stack of papers that had not been put below deck flew into the air like a flock of startled pigeons and a chess set clattered to the deck, its pieces leaping in every direction.
"Hold on to something!" Vilya cried, grabbing some rope tied tightly to the mast. "I guess we'll just have to trust him..." She nodded toward the captain, a hint of skepticism in her eyes.
"That won't be necessary." Carryway said in response. He waited before speaking again. Now the wind was tearing at thier clothes, threatening to hurl them to the deck..or worse. "Get ready ladies and gents!" At the last moment he pulled a small object from his coat pockets. It was round and a deep ocean-blue. Without blinking he hurled it over the bow.
Vilya couldn't begin to imagine what he was doing, suddenly there was a flash of light from below the ship. She watched in awe as the hurricane split apart, the wind dying completely in one section of the whirlwind. The Destiny glided past unharmed, there was not so much as a breeze over the ship as the great walls of wind returned behind them. Vilya only had time to think on this for a moment for when she turned around, there in front of them lay a harbor...floating in the middle of the sky.
