"The undead are my domain. destroyer of elves or not, it will do my bidding if I choose to summon it, as it would my daughters."

a small nod.

"the concern might be touching though, if I knew what you are and your real intentions. but such is not my place."

walking into the abbey, and looking over the thing...shooing away those trying to skin it for the time being.

"leave it be for a moment. let those with kowledge of the dead and dying have a look first."

Hunter shot a glare at Thobias before down into eh belly of the abbey he went, looking for gems, gold, riches, shards...anything that might be of use or value. elven weapons would claim a pretty penny or be ut to good use as well if there were some in the good condition.

She shook her head though with a bit of chuckle to it. Her father was ever predictable wasn't he? But that wasn't a bad thing...being the way she was, she liked predictability. Though she jumped lightly as the sound of a splash and hiss as she stepped down and quickly backstepped, scrapping her boot lightly against the flooring as the leather had grown warm for a moment before it ebbed. Disadvantage of being blind there, couldn't see if there was something to step in. "Messy..."

"Blast it all beast...more trouble than it was worth. It better make a fine damn rug." Boarding her own she she cursed and took to stripping her upperhalf till she was left in a thin tanktop like undershirt. A sigh as she looked at her arm, touching at it lightly. Yeah that was highly painful. Hm, wonder how long it would take that to heal. "Someone fetch my medic."

Shyrae took her staff and took to healing those she could. Many of them needed quite a bit of magic to get them back to normal health. Her energy was slowly draining though and she still had many more. Some just might have to settle for the normal healing process...at least until her energy improved. She was conserving as much energy as possible. "The thing had acid spit?!" she hollered as yet another showed her obvious acidic burns. But she pulled out salve and went to healing yet again.

Thobias popped up behind her and set his hands on her shoulders. "The medic won't be able to help you as well as the healer on Hunter's ship, Gem. Please go over there and let her take care of you."

"I said nothing of the opposite, necromancer. I wish you luck." He watched him walk off and shoo his head. "Most don't heed my warnings. We shall see what becomes of you and this beast." Not that he really cared. Instead he collected a few other things and then went back to the ship.

"Careful. this creature had acidic saliva. use your friend..or if you want you can use my eyes. I think a few slivers off the front legs will work just fine. Though judging it's size and shape, I doubt this creature is native to this plane."

taking his daughter's hand and leading her aroudn some of the more messy places.

Hunter was down in the bowels now, having made a torch from a legbone and some tattered cloth...fur all over the place...this things nest had to be close. then he began to wonder...was it male or female? he hadn't noticed while they were killing it. then again he'd been a bit busy to bother to look.

"The healer on Hunter's ship? And let him gloat that not only would we never be able to beat that thing without him, or so his preception will say, but then also go crawling to his healer for help? You're going to need a better reason than that I would think." Giving a cringe and a hiss as her own medic had indeed been fetched and had taken hold of her arm, inspecting burnt and raw flesh. He seemed at a loss and that clearly read in his eyes. "Oh for pete's sake...someone get me some rum and bandages...and go ask the opinion of said healer abroad, I want no magic on me." She was stubborn at times obviously.

One of those times she would let herself be led by the hand, which were few and far between and was a privilage that extended only to her family and beyond that Shyrae had earned that privilage too. Sometimes you just needed to rely on someone else. And these were good boots, did not want to loose these boots. Which meant even as her father led her around puddles of steaming goo that were eating through rock and toward the creature, she indeed had a peek through his own eyes, not that he would feel or know she was doing so. Thusly snapping a forarm to dislodge a blade from chains and take hold of it so she could indeed fetch her little bone chips...she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty at all. "What makes you say that just from the way it looks? As I hear it, this place used to be most different." She eavesdropped a lot.

Thobias rolled his eyes and sighed. Gem was being stubborn which meant he was more or less screwed when it came to getting her help. "We won't tell the b*****d. She'll slip over here and heal you and then you'll be better. You don't want Hunter getting ahead of you in everything else do you? Or taking advantage of your current condition." Of course Thobias would take a piece of his a** for that but he wouldn't put it past Hunter at all. And yet she wanted no magic. He caught a pirate and ordered him over then sat back to wait. "At least sit down for a moment Gem."

Shyrae listened to the pirate who was talking to her and nodded. "I have something that will help if she's really against magic. It's going to have to suffice for a few since magic is beginning to run low. Reaching beside her, she pulled out the jar and set it down in the pirate's hand. "Here you go. Smear that on the burn and that should take care of it in about a week's time or so. Make sure it stays bandaged and clean. If she changes her mind about magic, I'll be more than happy to heal her." And she turned back to take care of the others. Her energy was quickly running low, however.

Caden appeared above deck, he easily spotted the wounded pirates and it didn't even register on his face except for a raised eyebrow. Still he had a bad feeling about this place and seeing these men wounded told him he was right, he was a bit happy that he was left behind this time. Still he walked among the wounded, the two balls of light have floated off somewhere so he didn't expect to see them for a bit but he did see Shyrae. "Hey Shyrae, what has happened?" He asked as he stood a little bit back, after all she was working so he needed to give her space.

"something this fur covered and large would need to consume a great deal of food. not to mention the fur alone would probably have killed it in this desert area. now, if it was native...the spieces would either be entirely dead, or, it would have adapted to this harsher enviroment."

then he gestured to teh pirates they could finish their tasks.

Shiny things. lugging up stairs a buddle of things..well more dragging it at this point. elven warhammer, rapiers, broadswords, shortswords...three little shiny shard things, probably not what they appeared to be because those damned little pests would have swarmed them by now...and enough gems to fix up and reoutfit the Chimera three times over.

And she plopped her but on a barrel that was on deck, rather annoyed in her ways. She hated being injured in any manner about anything especially when it prevented her from doing other things. "I'd sink his ship first." Shaking her head but turned her attention to the pirate who came back with something from the healer elf over yonder and after giving it a look over, threw it to her medic and allowed him to take to working at her arm. "Well...that was eventful wasn't it? He better not skimp me out on anything...we pulled our weight."

"Okay so you have your points, but plane native or not is not really my concern." Tucking away freshly harvested bone shards in one of her pouches and giving Chylithair a pet as well as a scrap of flesh from the creature so he had something to munch on. "Back to the hell that is the ship then? My mind is quite taxed..." What with all the freaking sight jacking she'd been doing as well as necromancy on top, and well...that backlash wasn't good for her at all.

Shyrae was slowly growing more and more weary as her massive amounts of healing began to take their toll. She glanced back at Caden and shrugged. "Apparently they went and attacked something? It had acidic spit and was much bigger than they were. Thus we have injured pirates. Hand me those bandages.." She took them from him and began administering care once again, going a bit slower this time since she was pulling from the last of her reserves. They were almost done, thank god. She glanced at Caden. "Put them in order...for me. Worst injured...to least..."

As Caden looked on he noticed how tired she was getting, it seemed that all the healing she was doing was maxing her out, he hoped though that she would stop and allow herself some rest so she wouldn't blackout from forcing her body to heal the rest of the injured. "Oh so that's what happened..." And he was glad that he was left behind for sure, though he did what he was asked and grabbed the bandages Shyrae asked for then handed them to her. Though he gave her a nod as she asked him to list the injured. "Sure I'll do that." A small pause as he looked at the wounded. "Shouldn't be too hard anyway." A light nervous chuckle came from him before he took off, grabbing a small blank book he uses to keep what he lists in and began to write down those who were injured, it be best to get it over and done with quickly .

Hunter came dragging his load with him, whislting lightly before dispersing it among the few of the crew there were left. to take to his ship. he'd personally deliver Gem's share that he figured she'd earned...and he owed Thobias something didn't he. oh yes indeed. idly coating a small dart for his crossbow with a chemical designed to make certain activities unperformable. Hey hunter knew this things..more than likely he'd been drugged with it himself by and angry father once to twice..or more..

Malik nodded lightly.

"Back to the ship. and you right to your room and lay down. in fact, I'll skip the middleman there you need the rest."

putting one arm around her waist, and shadowstepping twice to get to her room..and setting her down on the bed a bit before taking a seat by her.

"Why don't you come home after this. you know your mother would enjoy it, and this type of adventure doesn't seem to suit you very well."

"There you see, all bandaged up and good to go. I smell funny from whatever that goo was, but it really does take the sting out of the wound, I'll admit that." Taking a swig of her rum and a look to her bandaged arm once more. Salve for the burn, rum for the pain. But standing herself up on the barrel, using Thobias' shoulder to steady herself she cleared her throat. "Men! Give me your attention! Today, not all of us have come back to the soothing decks of the Gale Claw. Today, some of my beloved crew will be left behind in the sands to forever reveal in the thing they loved so much. Valiantly, they died...and as such I do not preach or lament for them, but merely take my hat off for them and give them a moment of silence, and let them though that they are the lucky sort to earn thier peace in the sands." Holding out the bottle of rum in her hand and pouring it out on the deck. "For my brothers of the sandseas."

She shook her head, he was being daddy again, though that wasn't a bad thing at all. Savvy enjoyed her parents care to her and such, especially after such rough beginnings, but sometimes it just felt like they were stifiling her. But she settled easily enough, turning a blank clouded look to the direction Malik's voice was coming from before giving a light sigh. "You would enjoy it too, wouldn't you daddy? I know you worry just as much as she does, if not more since you know what I do as my profession dictates." Shifting lightly into a more comfortable position. "I don't know, everytime I think I've proven something to myself...turns out that I haven't." She had always seemed to be trying to prove to herself and to others that she was just as well off as if she could indeed see perfectly as those around her. "This particular adventure...well, it's different, that's for sure. I'm still trying to figure out how exactly I got roped into this. I do believe spite is involved though." Giving a light yawn then. It was hard being blind when it came to time too...could never really tell how much had passed. She certinally didn't know how long she had been out there.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 04, 2007 10:50 pm

"Oh you smell just fine." Thobias nodded and then stood by her side, pulling off his hat as well and bowing his head for a moment. They had lost a lot of good men out there and they deserved to be remembered. They'd been buried with the elves though most of them had no markers since they had no time. "May they rest in peace." He took a breath and closed his eyes for a moment, just taking it all in. Reaching up, he grasped Gem's waist and lifted her down then helped her to her cabin. "You need rest and time for that arm to heal. The others are being healed and I believe we're staying here for the night. We'll set out tomorrow morning."

Shyrae glanced at him and shook her head. "Caden, what are you doing? I need them lined up depending on their physical conditions. Those who need medical attention immediately in front and then the minor injuries in the back. And after you do that, go find the Laerethe. They can heal too, I believe and I'm going to need help."

After realizing his mistake Caden easily went to work, though he didn't know why he misunderstood simple orders it was best to just get what was needed to be done. So with the help of some able bodied pirates began to put them in order by how bad thier injuries were, and like he said it wasn't that hard to figure out who really needed some medical attention and those who would be fine for a little while longer. When he was done with what Shyrae asked him to do he went off to find the little ones, though it was just a bit hard since he hasn't seen them in a little bit but in a short amount of time he was able to find one, the one who recruited him. "Shyrae needs some help...she cannot heal all the pirates by herself."
