Ari nodded. "I understand that you might not be very pleased with my decision, but when a carer attempts to attack a kit, whether or not that kit was provoking her, actions must be taken. Did she tell you that part of the story?" The question was not rhetorical: Ari had no idea how much or how little Anjafey might have told Ollure.
"Of course kits can be annoying and provoking at times. If a carer is unable to deal with that, there is a serious problem.
"Furthermore, you I never banned her from her job as carer permanently. If it seems that she is indeed recovered, as you claim, then she may have her position back."
Ari wasn't quite sure where the words came from. But they came, none the less, even though he hadn't quite as much time as he had wanted to prepare this speech. Somehow those thoughts in the back of his mind turned into this. All in all, Ari was rather pleased with the result.

When Ollure left, Anjafey had settled herself on the ground with her eyes closed, tired from the events of the past days. She did not fall asleep, however; instead, she kept one ear tilted towards Lure and Ari, making sure nothing was going terribly wrong with them.
When her name came into the equation, as she knew was inevitable, she tiredly opened one eye to watch the proceedings, wondering what Ollure would say.
Truthfully, Anja would not be upset in the slightest if Ollure decided to support Ari fully; it was foolish to believe that one's mate always had to agree with you, and she could still see where Ari was coming from. In fact, the only thing that troubled her right now was that she could hear them talking about her, as if she was miles away.
Even that, though, did not concern her too much at this point; she acknowledged that her actions had been wrong and deserved punishment, and she was too tired to even try to argue. Instead, she forced herself to stop listening and laid her head back down on her paws, ready for this night to be over.

She nodded again and raised herself to all four legs and peered at him intensely, as if she was boring a hole into his soul to gaze at all he'd done, or at least that was the sense most would get.
"I understand that you did not ban her permanently, and I am aware of what she did. I am also going to state this now; Whether we like it or not, there are those that can push our buttons in ways we could hardly fathom them being pushed and we snap. We all have those times, and not even the calmest and most collected of us are spared that. I am sure you understand this Ari, and I know you are aware that aside from those events, her shortcomings as a carer are few and far between.
So please... I'm not one to ask favors, but I will stand by her and watch her if you'll permit her to return to her tasks, be they your kits or those of another. I truly believe she is recovering well, I just do not wish to see something set her back or slow that progress, I do adore her and wish only to see her happy and at her best.
Do I agree with what she did? No, but I cannot say that if it were me in her position, that I would have done any different... and forgive me for this Ari, but I can also say that you can have no idea whether you would have done the same given the situation and her circumstances... You have not been exposed to such as it was I do not believe. Forgive me for being presumptuous but I must get that out. Do I question your abilities in that statement? No, I believe you are most capable, especially since you're still holding out under everything that has been happening, but we are all only capable of taking so much."
She turned her gaze towards Anja and smiled again, warmly and her tail swayed as she set her eyes on the female she had come to adore so quickly. Then her head turned so her eyes could again meet with Ari's, as she awaited the potential backlash of her last statements.

Everything about the tribe right now was tense... Anyone could feel that, including Sieg. He felt rather out of place right now. Thea was a carer, she could look after the kits... Others were talking to the Elders. But... He had nothing to do now. His way in the tribe was even in question, at least in his mind. As much as the Moon Fox called to him, Lila meant much more. As his mate, she meant so much to him... He would turn his back on this tribe should they dissaprove of their mating.
Settling near the rest, he stopped his patrol to try and calm down, thoguh it was hard given the circumstances. No fighting... But... Things were tense.

"Well, Lillette, I shall assume that Ari's distracted lack of response can be taken as a yes," Kin'iro remarked to the kit with a smile after the elder had moved on to other business. Unfortuantely, the air of tension in the area didn't seem to have subsided much. "Come, let us retire to another spot."
As the golden female stood up to walk away with the kit, she heard a faint rustling sound. Turning towards it, she caught a brief glimpse of her sister there. Yudoku appeared as if she had been about to emerge, when, catching a glimpse of the two elders, she quickly changed her mind and went off into another direction. "Doku?" Kin'iro inquired, titling her head as she looked at the spot where her sister had vanished.
That was rather odd. I wonder if something happened... "Come, let us go after your aunt," she said quietly, nudging the small kit forward. "You haven't had a chance to meet her yet."

"Snapping is one thing: nearly causing physical harm to a kit is an entirely different matter. One that I will not slide. You are lucky that I am willing to give her a chance to prove that it was nothing but instability. Others have been banished from their tribes for lesser offenses." Of course, the one he was thinking about was Akuma. She had been one of the female foxes who had joined in the mauling of a male--along with Anjafey. He had been told that the male had provoked them, but with so many against one, he couldn't think of anything that would warrant that kind of response.
"You have heard of Akuma, and what happened to her, yes?" Ari wanted to be sure that they both knew how fine of a line Anjafey was walking on. Part of him wanted to believe that the whole thing had been nothing but temporary instability, that one of his tribe members would never dream of doing such a thing, unless they had gone a bit insane. That was the part that had allowed her probation, had allowed her to stay in the tribe, without ever raising the question of her banishment.
Another part doubted Anjafey. Maybe the unstable thing was true, maybe it was a lie. Even if it were, true, though, how safe was she? If she allowed herself to be pushed so far by just one fox, what would prevent that from happening again. Maybe she would blame it on Rendo again. Maybe some other fox would fall victim of her blame. One way or another, they would find out soon enough; that part of him was sure.

Ollure shook her head in response to the question posed her, the glint in her eyes becoming slightly fierce as their conversation became more intense. She meant business now, and she was enjoying the chance to compete, even if it wasn't the best time to be doing so.
"I am unaware of the events surrounding this... Akuma. It matters little to me however, as I can tell by your tone that you're trying to clue me in on something. If Anja walks a thin, and in this case, silver line... Then I shall walk beside her on your side of it to pull her back."
She used the silver reference in terms of the moon and its blessed light. She was fond of using colors and patterns in her speech, especially if they helped reference something or they got a point across. Her gaze focused far more intensely on Ari than before and it might even get to the point of being uncomfortable for the Elder because now it really did look like she was staring at his soul before she smiled and spoke again.
"I appreciate you being willing to give her a chance, but again... Let me stand by her and permit me..."
She trailed off for a mere moment as she thought of what she was about to say. She had always been good at getting out of trouble, but now she was going to put herself in harms way.
"Let me carry a portion of her burden, what falls on her head shall fall on mine... I say this before you, the Moon Fox, and the Moon itself this night... Let my oath be sworn and let you know my heart and soul. I will defend your tribe, be I a part of it or not, and Anjafey... With every fiber of my mortal and immortal soul."
Her tail flicked at she finished her statement and she stood taller than before in front of Ari, her eyes locked on his with an extreme sense of confidence.

"The first incident Anjafey was involved in, where she and other females beat up a male for calling one of them names, Akuma was involved with that. She was banished for her tribe for that incident alone." Ari placed special emphasis on the last sentence, reminding Ollure that Anjafey had participated in that, and had nearly attacked a kit. Yet was still with the tribe.
It struck Ari as odd that Ollure should describe the thin line as 'sliver', before he glanced skyward, and noted the silver moon. An interesting way of reminding of the common tie that bound them together.
Ari held her gaze, even though it unnerved him, hiding his discomfiture behind a mask of neutrality. It didn't matter if it seemed she could see into his soul; none but the Moon Fox could do that. No mere mortal could see into his thoughts.
And even if she could, what then? He had nothing to hide from her, or anyone.
"Perhaps it would be fitting. She blames her former mate for the...mistakes she has made. If the problem is a bad choice in life partner," Ari emphasized life, albeit unintentionally, "then it should indeed be your responsibility to make sure that she behaves properly.
"Kazuki and I will consider your offer." That was clearly a dimsissal.
As tempting as it was to accept on the spot, Ari knew that Kazuki and Anjafey were friends, and it would be unfair to not allow the other elder his opinion on the matter.
At least one good thing had come from that night: it seemed that finally everything had been sorted out, and the tribe could finally return to its calm and peaceful ways.

Rendo gave a sigh as he walked through the forest area. He had mistakenly took a wrong path and got lost. He looked around intrested in what might of changed since he was gone.

Anja sighed and picked herself up form the ground, moving to speak with Ollure. "I'm going to go off of on my own for the day," she told her new mate. "I think being alone for a time will help me. I'll be back tomorrow night, before the sun begins to overtake the moon."
She nuzzled the younger female, then turned to head into the forest, disappearing into the darkness.
((Rea authorized me to make this time skip.
It's now the next night, around midnight.))
Anja re-emerged from her walk in the woods, shaking dirst and leaves off of herself as she came back into the gathering area.
It seemed as if she'd changed overnight; no longer did she look like she was brooding and wallowing, but she carried herself with the same confidence and calm she had before the attacks on Michi and Kyoufu. Whatever she'd done in the past twenty-four hours, it had worked.
Now to hope Ari might have noticed it...
Kavi was lounging around off to the side of the clearing, Aysu busying herself next to him with tracking the movements of fireflies.
He was anxious to meet his dad, but he wasn't sure how well he's be received, either. Everyone here was just so stressed!

In opposition to Anjafey's renewed spirits, Yudoku was at an all time low. She had spent most of the evening alone in the forest of the tribe lands, but she now returned to gathering area with a small kill in tow. "I have brought food for anyone who is hungry," she said plainly after laying down the large hare. "It's not much. I'll go try to catch something else for the rest."
"Ah, Doku, mate kudasai," Kin'iro called out, quickly padding up to her sister before she ran off again. The golden vixen had temporarily lost track of the kit over the course of the evening, but she wasn't too worried about that. She could still smell Lilette a short ways off. "With as fast as you darted off last night I didn't get the chance to introduce you to our little guest," she said with a small smile. "But you've been rather elusive tonight. What's going on?" Although Yudoku had up a calm and impassive demeanor, Kin'iro knew otherwise.
"Nothing," replied the darker fox, avoiding her sister's gaze. "I'm going to continue hunting now. Can't be slacking off on my duties." With that she sprinted away.
"Oi, yamate!" the other called after her, but to no avail. Never seen her like this before. It's going to be hard to get her to talk...

Nako had stayed away from the tribe this time. He had sheltered in a hollow, where he hunted, ate, and slept in. All the drama that had been going on was one thing Nako was prone to not resist, and he was certainly not in the greatest mood to deal with tribe troubles...
Though, coming back was what he had finally decided on. So, the male had already made it half-way there. The forest was big but not big enough for him. Ever since he was a kit Nako had been exploring this forest. He had grown quite used to it, and didn't mind of any of the conditions of it either.
Stopping he let out a small smile. His red eyes scanned the surroundings rather... Happily. Nako wondered who he might see again, since he had been gone for quite sometime. Remaining still for a moment, Nako returned to his way of returning back to the tribe. Excitement was thrilling through his muscles, making the male modifox spazz every so often.

As Yudoku darted through the trees, she soon found Nako. "Ah, Nako, long time no see," she said, forcing a small smile. "Wish to help me hunt? I haven't been able to catch much today."

She had waited at the spot that Anjafey had vanished into the woods at the entire next day and night. The instant Anjafey emerged her ears perked and her eyes locked on the female she so adored. She was on her feet in a flash and bounded over, but the way she did so was odd as she kept seeming to fade into the shadows and come back out closer. When she reached Anjafey she stopped and smiled at her, her tail swaying in the night air.
"Hello Anjafey, I see your trip was fruitful? If you wish to tell me about it I would hear it, if not I'll accept that. I'm just so very glad to see you."
Her front legs kept shifting her weight from one to the other as she seemed ready to bounce about at the sight of her love. For some reason that day and night had seemed like years to her, and that feeling was odd to her.
"I missed you Anja."

After the talk earlier that evening, Ari had a pounding headache. What he really wanted to do was go lie back down, and sleep until the next night.
Of course, just when he thought he had gotten everything sorted out, another thing would spring up on him.
He shook his head, trying to focus his thoughts. He noticed Anjafey coming out of the trees, but didn't pay any attention to her. None of the kits were around her. So at the moment, Ari couldn't care less what she was up to.
Ari curled up near the edge of the clearing, simply watching the tribe. He would have to be there, if they needed him. He was in no mood to do anything else, however.
