Daniels in his later years has become a devout Christian so it probably offended him quite a bit. That's the problem with selling off your rights in cases like this. You never know how it'll be used.

I may be a goddess worshiping heathen, but I still remember a fair amount about Christianity, and I'm having trouble understanding the legitimate dispute with playing a game where you aim to defeat the devil exactly how the protagonist of the song does.

Philosophically speaking, does humanity always triumph over the devil? Well, no. That's what gets called "sin" when last I checked. Daniels is just a senile old b*****d who hasn't a clue of what he's on about.

I can't really fault anyone for seeing something and being uncomfortable with it. Had an encounter with a woman at a con who was completely uncomfortable with the fact that a character in my comic carried a gun. Really, Daniels doesn't have to explain why he doesn't like it. His opinion, and whether I agree with it or not, and frankly I've never seen nor will likely ever see the game in question, at the very least I can respect him for voicing them. I'm kinda jaded right now on 'artists' who do whatever just the cash a check. Honestly, I like the old coot. Been a fan for a long time. He does quite a bit of charity work.

I'm not say take the game off the market or change it, because he did sell the rights to the song. He still has the right to say he's not happy at all with how they used it for whatever reason. He's a dozen steps up from those goofs who protested 'Dogma' without ever seeing the film. xp
