The Metapod may not have been very strong yet, but neither was Carmen. The tackle definitely did it's job and dug into her body causing the Cerebral pokemon to fall to the ground, but only for a moment. The only thing visible on her face aside from the lines were her eyes, and thy showed little expression as she winced from the tackle. The real story was in her flashing fingers, and Crenu was more sure than ever that this species of pokemon communicated with these finger lights, possibly a combination of the lights and telepathy. He couldn't hope to understand this language, but they way they lit up calmly let him know she was alright. "Ok, let's hit this one hard. Nasty Plot." Carmen nodded as she stared down her opponent, the lines on her head glowing as she stared down her enemy thinking of the terrible things that could be done to finish the job. Her mind grews sharper and her aura glowed with power. But she winced, fingers flashing frantically as she struggled to contain it her young mind.
"Wha? Metapod we got them on the ropes! Use another tackle and take it down!" The Metapod drones out, visibly tired having taken two direct hits already. But it didn't slow down, muscles contracting tightly sitting taught like a bow string then releasing. Again the green cocoon launched itself forward at the target, shell gleeming with its increased hardness.
Feeling the pointed shell of the Metapod ram into her side Carmen droned out in pain and hit the floor. Her fingers flashed weakly, she was just about done. But Crenu didn't let her rest. "Confusion, unleash it all." Her body stung, and her mind throbbed with the energy she'd stored up with the Nasty Plot. But she was conscious, and more than happy to relieve the pressure in her brain. Her brain reached out to the Metapod at point blank range, blasting it away with her super charged Confusion. The Cocoon Pokemon was send skywards going end over end until the confusion held it in place. Carmen sat up and glared at the opponent, arm held up moving the Metapod around before swinging her hand quickly and smacking the pokemon against the hard cave wall. Crenu didn't bother go see if it got up, he walked over to Carmen, his potion in hand spraying the impact sites then the rest of her body until the bottle was empty. Carmen floated back up feeling the medicine restore her strength, happily clung to Crenu as he stared to walk away. The young trainer was saying something or other to him, but he didn't care to listen. He held up his end of the agreement to battle, being rid of the annoying kid was all that mattered as he continued his trek through Mt. Moon. "..Not bad. You did well Carmen." That was the only praise she got, but she was happy with it and hovered up near Crenu's head, hands draped over his right shoulder as she hung onto him cutely. Crenu just sighed and let her be. She earned it.

Mike's assurance that he did in fact, not know the cheerful brunette currently waving her arm off at them helped Kasiya to curb her jealous tendencies, even more so when he gave in to her absurd demands and kissed her. For a quick yet blissful moment Kasiya allowed the rest of the world to disappear, but it was cut even shorter when she heard a familiar voice that made the blood in her veins turn icy. "Riza," she growled, momentarily forgetting that Mike and Hayley were even there.
"What am I doing here?" she demanded, now taking a few steps toward the dark-haired girl, her mood having shifted completely the exact moment she laid eyes on Riza. "That's none of your business! What are you doing here? Looking to pick up where we left off yesterday and finish losing?" Things had gotten a bit out of hand yesterday and the two had wound up trying to settle their differences in a battle, but obviously the appearances of the mysterious eggs had put an end to that. She'd almost missed Hayley's introduction, but she'd turned her focus on Mike for now, which was all right with Kasiya as she was more concerned with Riza at the moment.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan chuckled lightly at the minor scolding he received from Kevin, but he had to agree. Despite the hardships he'd gone through over the past while, struggling with the seemingly ironclad locks on his memory and uncertainty at nearly every turn, having Turtwig/Grotle by his side had made everything that much easier. Even Bibarel and all her anger issues had helped to make things manageable, and he lightly touched the spheres containing the first two Pokemon he'd met here in Sinnoh fondly. Sure, Magnemite and Sigilyph were both more recent additions, but he was fond of both of them, as well, even if the Magnet Pokemon needed to learn some restraint.
"You're definitely right about that," Jaeshan murmured as they cleared the forest, and were now making their way along the road that would inevitably take them back into Eterna City. Everything Kevin had said was true. He'd befriended Robin and Jade easier because they all had one thing in common - Pokemon, and he smirked a bit as he recalled fending off the roughneck trainer that had been menacing the raven-haired Jade the day he'd met her. He couldn't help but wonder what both she and the ever-energetic Robin were up to, and if he'd see them again someday. The two trainers continued to make quiet chitchat as they reentered the city, and as they passed by a signpost that indicated the way to the PokeMart, Jaeshan's lip curled into a grin as he recalled the training he'd done with Sigilyph before his little sidetrack into the Old Chateau. Right, there's that move that I wanted to grab for him, the blonde teen thought, motioning to get Kevin's attention. "Hey, there's some stuff I need at the Mart," he said, already heading in that direction, the excitement apparent in his step.

"Hayley Jayne Bennet." Mike repeated, his voice bouncing up in the same places as its original incantation. A pleasant name for a pleasant girl. "Well, since we're going full names-mine is Michael Gian Kyoka." And yes, one of those things was not like the other. "It's nice to meet you." The other girl that was hiding behind her was introduced as Riza, and for a moment, Mike stared at her, his brain sparking (one or two literally popping from the scar in his forehead) as he tried to remember where exactly he knew her from. Thinking was hard, okay? However, while he was having difficulty firing up his brain in recollection, Kasiya had no such difficulty. Mike was legitimately taken aback by her instantly aggressive response. That was not like her at all. "I guess that answers my next question as to if you two know each other. Or are friends. I figured it out." he said mostly to himself. He'd only seen Kasiya get that angry around people like Team Rocket, but judging by the black-haired girl's tone in her greeting, the feeling was mutual. Wondering what could set Kasiya Rainbows-and-Hugs DeLuca off so easily, Mike scooted back a few steps closer to Hayley to be out of the blast radius of what could easily be a potential cat-fight.
He assumed that since Hayley hadn't addressed Kasiya directly that she was just in the dark as he was as to the girl's volatile social chemistry. Not taking his eyes off the altercation, he leaned over to his new acquaintance. "So, uh, do you um...like Pokemon?" he asked awkwardly, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet.

"Just looking out for ma fleur." Sasha said, taking another sip of tea. After all, Mike was (apparently) on the mend, so it might not even be so bad if he did challenge her. "Anys'hing in particular you have planned for the rest of the day?"
Sasha beamed at the adorable little Oddish as it walked by absorbed in its own blissful ignorance. She had always adored them and the way their leaves bobbed as they moved. The sight of a blue, arm-less Pokemon reminded Sasha of her own. "Oh!" she exclaimed softly, realizing that a tranquil atmosphere such as this would be just what her jittery little Azurill would like. She reached into her ball and withdrew Omelette's pokeball and released her on the ground beside them. "Erika, z'his iz my precious little Omelette." she said, giggling as the Azurill struggled her way up her leg and onto her shoulder and began nibbling on her cheek, as was her custom. "I hatched her a few days ago, isn't she z'he cutest?" Omelette squeaked at the compliment, even moreso when Sasha offered her a bit of her snack to munch on. As she continued to dote on the little one, it struck her that she had yet to actually battled with her. Looking over at the little Oddish waddling away, an idea struck her. "Erika." she asked, her gaze turning to the Gym Leader. "Would you do me z'he honor of being Omelette's first opponent?"

"Oh yes, the sweetest," Riza answered, glancing quickly to Hayley. Her tone was heavy with sarcasm and she continued to grin smugly as unsurprisingly, Kasiya stepped forward. One thing she had to admire about the younger girl was that she never seemed to back down from anything. She did ignore the comment about having been the one losing though, because as much as she hated to admit it, it was true. Kasiya's Meganium had been laying the smack down on Diemia before they were rudely interrupted by divine intervention.
"I don't have to tell you anything," she retorted with a light scoff, absent mindedly toying with the white bow on the front of her shirt. "But I do know that Eris and I wouldn't mind having another shot at that dumb Charmeleon of yours. That is," her grey eyes almost twinkled with devilish intent, "if you're not too busy sucking face with your new boyfriend over here." She gestured to Mike with a wave of her hand. "That reminds me, what happened to Keegan? Did you get bored of him and kick the poor boy to the curb, or did he finally realize he was too good for you?"

Dante sighed as he saw the state of his pokemon. The normally very aggressive was, well she was still very aggressive snapping her mouth and bearing her teeth spurts of blue dragons fire escaping through her sharp teeth. Still even Dante could tell she was tired, she wouldn't last another hit, heck Dante was surprised she was even up from that last hit, then again dragons were known for being tougher than normal pokemon. Rubbing his chin thoughtfully he wondered if he should just call her back, that thought didn't last very long though, Kali would hate him more then she already did if he tried to call her away from a battle. While he might not know the dragon type all that much yet she wasn't very hard to figure out, she was mean, hated everyone and wanted to crush them all and stand on top of their corpses roaring in triumph. Actually now that Dante thought about it she was a bit less aggressive towards him, she had attacked everyone else around her but he stayed oddly sort of safe, she clearly didn't like him very much though, maybe those badges were useful for something?
"All right Kali try your Dragon Rage again." Dante called out pulling himself out of his own mind. This was still a battle after all, he could test out his theory on the long boat ride.
"Let's go one more time with Powder Snow!"
"Is that the only move your pokemon knows?" Dante muttered as he watched the two pokemon go at it one more and probably last time. The Snover waved its hands out again sending another blanket of snow towards Kali. The Deino was a bit faster though and managed to send a blast of blue flames right under the blanket before it landed on her knocking the poor dragon out once and for all. The flames themselves hit this time though and the grass ice type gave a cry of pain as it tried to bat the dragon’s fire off of it. Still the end results were what everyone could have predicted, Kali was down while the Snover, which was hurting a lot more now was still standing. Sighing but not too surprised Dante recalled Kali into her pokeball. "Great you won congrats." He muttered as he shoved the pokeball away. The older teen ignored the cries of victory from the other side, he had a feeling that he wasn't going to be winning any battles any time soon so he better get used to this.
"Good job taking advantage of your type advantage there." He offered as he approached Doug who was, to everyone's relief putting the hail bringing Snover away.
Unable to keep the grin from his face Dougs arms wrapped around himself through the shivers that the hail brought on. "Why did you send out something weak to ice in the first place anyway?"
At that last question Dante gave a soft bitter laugh and rolled his eyes. "My only other pokemon on me is Kenny." The kid gave him a confused look and Dante just gave him an impatient sigh. "The Dusclops. Unless this egg wants to hatch anytime soon I am a little short on pokemon." Dante patted the bump in his bag where the egg resided, the stubborn thing didn't even more or make a sound, it clearly did not want to hatch for him. "Anyway I do have a boat to catch. See you around kid." Giving a distracted wave as he walked towards the dock where his boat resided.

"Sheena, what are you doing?!" Keegan roared as he and Eithne raced right past the pink-haired girl, the last the redhead seeing of her being the rueful expression on her face as he and the Arcanine crossed the threshold and into the forest. Althena had kept up to the speedy Fire-type rather well, which Keegan was grateful for as he knew he was going to need her, especially now that Sheena was refusing to help. Figures, the redhead thought bitterly, teeth clenched in frustration. It's not like it's her Pokemon that's gone berserk or anything! The going was a little slower now that they had made it to the woods, even with the very-obvious path of trampled and scorched trees and plant-life spreading out in front of them. A familiar trilling could be heard from overhead and Keegan could see Artemis circling above as she continued to act as their eyes in the sky.
"This is useless," he mumbled, getting Eithne to slow her pace so that the Golduck could jump up onto the Arcanine's back as well. "He's not stopping, he's just going to keep going until he runs into something solid or collapses from exhaustion." While the latter of those ideas was quite enticing, there was no telling how long that could be, and the collateral damage inflicted on the forest in the meantime was something Keegan didn't really want on his conscience. As Artemis passed by overhead again, he looked up and gave a sharp whistle, easily gaining the Swellow's attention and she dropped down in order to see what her trainer wanted.
"Artemis, you have to slow him down somehow," he told her sternly. "We need to be able to catch him, so just do what you can." Now what he planned to do once they actually caught up to Boris was another thing altogether, but he really was making this up as he went along. Artemis gave a sort of apprehensive chirp and prepared to fly off ahead, but she stopped as Althena had spoken up, pointing a webbed finger between herself and the Swellow. Keegan looked on in confusion as the two females conversed between themselves, quickly coming to some sort of agreement. Artemis flew up and then did a loop to get behind them, and Keegan looked over his shoulder in time to see the Golduck leap up, her arms outstretched on either side of her. The smaller Swellow caught Althena's arms in her talons and then put on a burst of speed, carrying herself and the Water-type on ahead, though it wasn't without a lot of effort on Artemis' part.
"Now that's something you don't see every day," Keegan commented, leaning in low as he carefully gripped Eithne's fluffy mane. "C'mon, girl, show me what you can do," he urged, and the Arcanine gave a loud bark, intending to do just that, leaping over a fallen log thanks to Boris' complete lack of respect for Mother Nature. "I hope I know what I'm doing," he murmured as they closed the distance. ===== Jasper and Ditto's continued copycatting was getting old to Falkner, as well, and he continued to glower at the challenger, knowing full well that any move they made was likely to get thrown back in his face. He did have to admit, however, that Ditto was no mere knockoff of the actual Pidgeotto, as it was showing not only speed and power but great skill as well. The outlook wasn't all that brilliant, but Falkner was just as likely to admit that out loud as he was to throw in the towel. "Aerial Ace," he commanded. The Bird Pokemon screeched as it tucked in its wings and zoomed towards Ditto, a white glow having encompassed its body and clearly not holding the same degree of respect for its opponent as its master, even if the latter wasn't currently showing it.

Pidgey was ready to fight. To start off Part Two of their battle, Ben called the first move. "Pidgey, Gust attack!" Pidgey gave a cry and immediately started flapping his wings as fast as he could, kicking up a powerful gust aimed at the fisherman's Poliwag. The fisherman returned with an attack of his own, calling on Poliwag to use its Water Gun. Ben flinched as the jet of water shot through Pidgey's wind and hit him square in the chest, knocking him back a few feet. "Pidgey! That's alright, come back and hit it with a flying Tackle!"
At Ben's command, Pidgey hefted itself back onto its feet and started to flap its wings again, getting slightly airborne to boost its speed while it tackles hard into the Poliwag. The blue Pokemon rolled backwards a ways before it climbed back onto its feet. "Yeah!" Ben grinned. But the fisherman wasn't finished. "Poliwag, use Hypnosis!" Ben couldn't believe his eyes as the swirl on its belly started to look like it was spinning, Pidgey's eyes starting to grow heavy.
Ben clenched his fists, shouting to try and snap Pidgey out of it - but it was too late, as the fisherman was already calling another Water Gun. Ben's eyes looked disappointed and sad when the attack hit his Pidgey dead on once again, though the cold water did help to snap it out of its trance. But it was starting to get weak.. Ben gritted his teeth before calling out, "Pidgey, give it another Tackle!" He knew that Pidgey's Gust wasn't especially effective against this particular Pokemon, so a physical attack was his best bet. Pidgey mustered up all of his strength and charged at the water-type, slamming into it and sending it rolling once again. But it wasn't long, and it was retaliating again.
"Water Gun!" Ben cried out as the attack hit his Pidgey again, his face falling as the bird slumped over, too weak to go on. With a sigh, he recalled his Pokemon and smiled slightly at the other Trainer. "That's a draw!" Grinning slightly, the fisherman withdrew his Poliwag and came up to shake Ben's hand. "Aye, that it is. Good fight, lad," he said with a nod and a smile. As the fisherman turned to pack up his things and head home, Ben started his walk back to Violet City to rest up at the PokeCenter. It was just about dinner time.

By the time Keegan and Eithne had caught up to the stampeding Boris, Althena and Artemis were busy trying to slow him down. They had been moderately successful, as though neither Pokemon was actually attacking him, they had made their presence known and were currently using one of Keegan's favourite tactics - annoying the ever-loving s**t out of someone. The redhead couldn't help but smirk as he watched his Swellow speed out of the way of a skyward Flamethrower that had been launched by Boris. Althena was more or less working damage control, making effective use of her Water Sport and Soak abilities to quickly douse any flames that did try to take, as Artemis was proving to be a difficult target to hit in the air and there was an awful lot of fire being thrown around. The redhead narrowed his eyes as Boris gave a bellow and fired the same compact-ball of flame he had used to block Pan's Energy Ball directly into Althena's chest, causing the Golduck to stagger back, her blue skin now covered in painful-looking scorch marks. We could always just knock him right out with a Surf attack, the redhead thought, realizing then that he should have thought to get the Camerupt's PokeBall from Sheena before running off into the forest like an idiot.
Then again, he knew that Althena was significantly stronger than the Eruption Pokemon and a Surf might be overkill, though he quickly began to rethink that as he and Eithne ducked around a falling, smoldering tree. I really don't want to hurt him though, the redhead thought, frowning. He's already upset as it is and attacking him could just make it worse... "Eithne! Get closer to him!" the redhead called, and Eithne did just that, putting on a burst of speed that seemed to put even Themis' and Artemis' Quick Attacks to shame as she pulled up alongside the charging Pokemon. Was that Extremespeed? Keegan thought, but there was no time to dwell on it as Boris had decided that Eithne was too close for comfort and let loose with a Rock Slide. Large rocks began to drop out of the sky from seemingly nowhere and at an alarmingly fast rate. "Oh crap, oh crap! Eithne!" Keegan hollered, instinctively moving to put his arms over his head to protect himself, almost losing his balance in the process. The Arcanine managed to avoid the worst of the rocks, but not without she and her rider getting pelted by many of the smaller ones. She was relatively unharmed, but was starting to look winded from all that running, but that was to be expected from a Pokemon that had only just evolved like, an hour ago. It was time to act, and fast.
Feeling rather ballsy, the redhead steadied himself on Eithne's back and pulled himself into a crouched position, gritting his teeth as he eyed the Camerupt in front of him. "Okay, this is either gonna be really, really cool, or really, really painful!" The plan was to jump from the Arcanine's back to Boris', as perhaps then he'd be close enough to able to talk some sense into the critter and help calm him down. As he readied himself for the jump however, Eithne gave a worried yelp, and Keegan turned his head in time to see a low-hanging branch heading right for him. The redhead had only enough time to shout a rather colourful swearword before he was very literally punched in the face by a tree, the force of it enough to send him spiraling off Eithne's back and onto the forest floor where he lay, staring up at the sky in a terrible mixture of pain and confusion.
"Uhhhnggh... definitely, definitely painful..."

'I think it's time for a new plan,' Jasper thought as the two birds clashed again, talons flashing and feathers flying. He knew very well he couldn't keep copying forever, and he gazed briefly at Falkner as he commanded an Aerial Ace. "Let's shake things up a bit, Ditto! Counter with Steel Wing!" Ditto gave a cheer (as it hadn't yet really figured out how to mimic the Pidgeotto's vocal chords) and stretched out its wings, the tips becoming hardened like the blades of swords.
"Do it!" Jasper shouted, and Ditto braced itself, trying its best to defend from the enemy Pidgeotto's assault with its steely-hard wings while striking back as best it could. 'Yeah, we've got this,' Jasper thought, trying to keep his ego in check, at least until the battle ended. He figured it was a better plan to win first and then gloat about it later. * * * * * * * * * * 'I'm just making all sorts of new friends today,' Hayley thought as the brown-haired boy introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you... too?" her cheerful voice trailed off slowly, however, as it became very apparent very fast that there was some bad blood between Riza and Kasiya. Honestly, the poor brunette just didn't know what to say or think; her green eyes wide with nothing less than pure shock, particularly at the rather nasty comments uttered by Riza. It had been rather easy to see that Riza was nowhere near as lighthearted and cheerful as she was, but Hayley hadn't expected that kind of, well, hostility to erupt from her, and with such little provocation, at that.
The brunette glanced up at the boy as he'd edged closer to her, probably a wise decision as remaining close to those two could easily result in injuries. It took a moment for her mind to register the awkward question Mike had asked her. "Oh yes," she said, nodding absentmindedly. "I like Pokemon very much. Big Pokemon, small Pokemon. Strong. Weak. Fast. Slow. fuzzy, bumpy, slimy, round, square, tall, short, grass, water, fire, dark, psychic, ice, normal... I like all Pokemon." She spoke very fast, something she did on a regular basis to begin with, but right now her words were short, staccato and clearly indicative of just how uncomfortable she was with the situation. "Yes, I like Pokemon," she repeated, ever so slowly inching around until she was hiding behind Mike, peeking out at the blonde and raven-haired girls ever so conspicuously. "Please make them stop," she whispered.

"We are not friends," Kasiya said hotly, Mike's quiet comment having not gone unheard by her and she dismissed it with a wave of her hand. She wasn't at all surprised by Riza's immediate spite, either, as she could easily recall the comment the dark-haired girl had made only yesterday. A surge of anger flared through her when she brought up Nova, however, as calling one of her Pokemon dumb was something that could very easily get the offender punched. She'd taken a step forward, very eager to accept that challenge, but Riza's next pair of statements stopped her dead in her tracks as a volatile mixture of hurt, anger and guilt all tried to vie for the leading emotion in her heart. She could feel the familiar prickling of tears starting at the corners of her eyes and she struggled to blink them back. No, no crying. Not in front of her.
"I..." she started, the words catching in her throat as she felt a blazing heat rush into her skin. It wasn't generally an easy feat to render Kasiya speechless, but Riza seemed to have a natural talent for it. She wanted desperately to retreat, to run and hide and just get away from the mean-spirited girl, but she knew that if she ran away now, the raven-haired girl would never let her forget it. The blonde glanced quickly over at Mike, not at all surprised to see the shocked expression he wore, and her gaze landed on Hayley next. Another pang of guilt stabbed at her when she saw just how uncomfortable the brunette was with the sudden animosity, and she knew she had to find a way to put an end to this. She took a deep, shaky breath.
"Look, Riza, I don't know what your problem is, but you'd be wise to keep your big mouth shut when it comes to things you know nothing about. You have no idea - no idea what I've been through; what any of us have been through. You have no right to judge me - you don't even know me! And don't go dragging Mike and Keegan into this. Your beef is with me, not them, so grow up and stop being such a catty bi-" She stopped herself, clenching and unclenching her fists as she certainly didn't want to stoop to petty name-calling. She exhaled slowly through her nose, able to feel her whole body trembling and she looked at Mike once more; his presence alone was enough to start helping to calm her. "Oh, and, luckily for you and your Quilava, Nova isn't with me right now," she said, giving a light-hearted shrug as she took a Pokeball from her belt, "but I do have plenty of other Pokemon that would love to teach you and your smart mouth some manners."
=-=-=-=-= "Aside from any other possible challengers, nothing particular," Erika answered, finishing her cup of tea. She had already completed many of the day's chores so aside from routine gym maintenance, she was more or less free. She too watched as the sweet little Oddish wandered along on its way, and she smiled, knowing that by the peculiar way the one leaf bent to the right on its head meant that it belonged to Tiffany, one of her gym trainers.
"Mmm?" She looked up at Sasha's exclamation, wondering what was up as the girl had withdrawn a Pokeball, and soon their company was joined by the adorable little Omelette. "She's precious," Erika cooed, watching the little one with her trainer. One could certainly see how the sight of an Oddish would cause someone to be reminded of an Azurill. "Certainly," she said, giving a quick nod as she gave the Polka Dot Pokemon another once-over. "I think I have the perfect opponent in mind, as well."
In no time at all the two girls plus one adorable little Omelette had stationed themselves back over at the battle arena. "This little one was a gift from Gardenia of Eterna City over in the Sinnoh region," she said, already holding up a red and white sphere. "We haven't had a chance to do much training, but now is as good a time as any, I wager. Let's go, Cherubi!" The Cherry Pokemon appeared as Erika summoned her, blinking and looking around curiously. "After you, Lady Sasha," the gym leader said lightly.

"That... sucked," Keegan grumbled, teeth clenched in frustration and pain as he forced himself upright. "Pretty sure I can taste my spleen... again." Nothing felt broken, which was lucky enough for him, but the ache in his jaw served as a quick reminder of his up-close and personal encounter with that tree branch. Gingerly, he touched his fingers to his face, not at all surprised to find that he now sported a busted upper lip. Ah well, he thought, getting to his feet as Eithne had turned around to retrieve her lost rider. I've definitely had worse.
The Arcanine whined sadly, obviously feeling at fault for her trainer's fall. "Nah, it was totally me," he told her, giving her a loving scratch between the eyes. "It's not your fault that your trainer is a reckless dumbass." This seemed to cheer her up a little, however, as she once again treated him to a slobbery tongue bath. Wiping the massive amount of Arcanine drool from his face for a second time that day, he sighed and turned in the direction Boris had continued. "Now what?"
It was at that moment that the redhead and his Arcanine looked up to see a streak of white and blue race by overhead, accented by a familiar tinge of pink. It took Keegan a moment to realize it was Sheena, and an even longer moment to realize she'd been astride a Pelipper - her little Wingull must have evolved. "Shall we?" he said, nodding to the Arcanine, and once again the two were off, this time being sure to avoid the trees altogether if it could be helped - not that it was a big deal, as the Camerupt had cut himself a rather impressive swath through the greenery. Agriculture Hoenn is not going to be happy with us, he thought with a laugh, but now that Sheena had regained her wits and was willing to help, he sensed this whole adventure was about to come to an end. ===== Okay, so Miharu's sense of direction wasn't as keen as she'd initially hoped it would be, and after a lot of wandering and more than one wrong turn, she and Damien had managed to find the ship's directory. With a clear route now in mind, the small girl and her less-than-sociable new acquaintance found their way down to the battle area, though as they drew closer and closer, Miharu's pace slowed more and more. The pain of losing her own Pokemon was still quite fresh, and though she knew she couldn't avoid the creatures forever, she wasn't quite sure she wanted to see them just yet, particularly those that were likely working alongside their trainers.
It didn't take Damien's annoyance to flare up as the green-haired girl had led them down a third wrong corridor, and had it been anyone else he likely would have reamed them out for being stupid or incompetent. These were special circumstances, however, and despite his rather sour nature, he wasn't heartless. Luckily for him patience was one of his virtues, and before long they were headed in the right direction. Damien found himself contemplating the question Karrigan had asked the evening prior - just what was going to happen to the girl now that she no longer had any Pokemon of her own? The sights were familiar as they neared the arena, though Damien hadn't noticed Miharu's apprehension until he had his hand on the door handle. He wasn't surprised by it, and he paused. "Are you okay?" he asked. After all, the girl didn't know that he was already well aware of her situation.
"Hmm? Oh..." Miharu took a deep breath and looked at the boy, giving a slow nod. "I'm... I'm fine. Just a little, um, seasick is all." She wasn't sure of what it was, but something about this dark-haired boy didn't sit right with her. It was almost like he knew. How could that be possible, though? It wasn't likely that the Captain had made an announcement about her. "Go on, then," she said, giving another nod.
"All right, if you're sure." Damien had to admire the girl's courage, as he wasn't sure many others would be able to even function after going through what she had. Then again, he didn't know her well enough to know if she was faking it or not. Aware of the fact that the egg in his arms was moving more and more with every passing moment, pushed the doors open, having not expected the place to be empty, but he truly hadn't been expecting to see the redhead from last night, currently training with her nasty little Cubchoo, Vulpix and Sneasel. It seemed she had a Kadabra, too, and the bespectacled boy raised an eyebrow as he and his little companion entered the battle hall. "Fancy meeting you here," he said indifferently, shifting the energetic egg in his arms. "Look who I've found," he added, nodding in the direction of the green-haired girl. He wasn't entirely sure he could convey to Karrigan just who she was without being callous. "Karrigan, I'd like to introduce you to Miharu." ===== "So it seems that you are capable of some originality, after all," Falkner commented with a rare smirk. He had to admit that using Steel Wing as a defense was rather brilliant, and he made a mental note to try that one out himself sometime. Regardless, it was clear that Pidgeotto's Aerial Ace wasn't as damaging as he'd like it to be, and to add some injury to the insult, being pummeled by his foe's Steel Wing was no fun, either. Falkner knew that he could always use Roost to heal some of Pidgeotto's injuries, but given Jasper's penchant for mimicry, it'd likely make the battle go on a lot longer than it should. "Gust attack," the blue-haired Gym Leader called, eyes narrowed in determination. The Bird Pokemon mirrored his trainer's expression, flying up and beating his wings at a rapid pace to whip up a sharp blast of wind that was directed at Ditto. Pidgeotto was starting to look tired, however, and Falkner knew it wouldn't take much more for Ditto and Jasper to end it.

'Did he seriously just quip at me?' an awestruck Jasper thought, his lip curling into an an approving sort of grin. Perhaps Falkner had a fun side to him after all, something which the green-clad youth could appreciate, even if it took most of the battle to get it to bubble to the surface. "Yeah, well, you know," the boy laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I tend to wing everything as I go." Now if that wasn't worth at least a rolling of the eyes, he didn't know what was.
It was a might unfortunate that Jasper currently did not know of Pidgeotto's ability to use Roost; otherwise he might have done so entirely of his own volition. As the boy was still being led around by his ignorance when it came to making full use of Ditto's strengths in battle, this was definitely not the case as he continued to stick with what he knew. Falkner's Pidgeotto let loose with a Gust, and a rather strong one, at that. Jasper quickly went over his options in his mind. 'Gust, Quick Attack, Aerial Ace, Steel Wing. Probably Tackle and Sand-attack too, but why bother... Okay, I think maybe...' He put a hand to his forehead as his bandanna was threatening to be blown right off his noggin while making a slashing motion with his free arm. "Ditto! Fly right through it and hit 'em hard with Aerial Ace!"
Had it gotten really windy in here, or was it just him? Ditto gave an ear-splitting sort of screech (the kind that one might expect if they were to accidentally step on a Meowth's tail) and zoomed forward. Ditto had been by Jasper's side for a long time now, and it was quite aware of how much this battle meant to his good 'ole buddy. While he did miss tricking people from time to time, he did enjoy this battling thing, and taking home this gym badge was just what they needed to fully set them off on this path. The copycat Ditto fought against the harsh Gust, closing in on its opponent in order to slash away with its sharp claws. No more games!

"All Pokemon are cool." Mike replied dimly as he watched the verbal sparring match between Kasiya and Riza escalate very quickly. Too quickly for his liking. Granted, Kasiya's initial reply was blatantly hostile, but what Riza ended up replying with was an entirely unnecessary comment. Mike's expression shifted from concerned to enraged in record time, and was now glaring at the girl, his teeth shut tight together underneath his frown. "You have no idea what you're talking about." Mike growled under his breath, his fists tightening as he saw Kasiya become increasingly shaken up by the remark. One could insult him all they wanted. He could take it. But picking on Kass? That was one thing people should avoid around Mike.
"Please make them stop." a withdrawn voice behind him whispered.
"I think she has it under control." Mike took in a deep breath, his scars letting off a dim orange glow most likely unseen in the well-lit Pokemon Center. Smoke began to rise from the scar in his forehead as the boy was now literally smoldering in anger. This girl didn't even know him, and he had a good reason to believe she didn't know Kasiya all that well either. If she did, he figured she wouldn't be making such a claim. Mike straightened up, his fists still balled. He would leave this fight to Kass, unless Riza decided to hurl insults at him, rather than through her.
He shot Hayley a quick glance, still noticeably angry, but he hoped that she wouldn't get scared off by the recent dramatics. Turning back to the two girls, he let out a sharp breath through his nose, expelling a small puff of black smoke.

"I tend to wing everything as I go." Falkner did roll his eyes at Jasper's comment, as it wasn't like he hadn't heard that one a million times over. Plenty of his challengers considered themselves to be comedy gold as well as world-class trainers. Unsurprisingly, Jasper's Ditto persevered, coming through Pidgeotto's Gust with enough strength and gusto remaining to tear into it with an impressive Aerial Ace of its own. The Bird Pokemon gave a pained cry, falling from the sky and landing with a thud on the wooden platform. It was all over.
For a few moments, Falkner gazed upon his fallen Pokemon, finally blinking and looking away as it was recalled into its PokeBall. He stood up and brushed the dust from his clothing, still not really making eye contact with the victorious challenger. "Bridget," he said finally, gesturing for the female Bird Keeper to approach them. "Give Jasper his winnings. I have business to attend to. The Pidgeot that Falkner had arrived on had remained silent for the duration of the battle, and it gave a quiet trill as the blue-haired trainer climbed up on its back. "You're strong, Jasper," he called as the bird began to flap its wings. "Keep training, there's no telling how high you can fly." He urged the mighty bird upward, and just like that, Falkner was gone.
