"The client is avoiding the question," Agnese said from her desk chair. "Why did you approach us? And you still didn't answer why you were sitting on the floor in the first place...dodgy man." The last part was said in a whisper.

"So? get to it and answer me!"

<(Agnese, you are not a princess.)>

"Okay...Uhm, what's going on that this Cabal thing needs to have a class reunion?" Agnese asked.

"Roger, Siber. I'll just be cruising around and avoiding authorities for a while. I stole a taxi and it's not gonna be long before the gentleman in charge of this vehicle realizes it and puts police on my tail. If you could prevent that, that would be lovely, if you're anywhere near home base. Otherwise, I think I'll just wait 'till we're ready to get moving somewhere."

The one problem Paul now realized was that the taxi drew attention. People wanted rides, and they wanted to get places. Once Paul got his sense of direction, however, he discovered he knew the city remarkably well. In fact, after a couple people tried to stop him for rides, he decided to stop and accept the money himself. He was aware this was probably racking up more crimes, but since attempted murder hadn't come against him, he wasn't worrying about it. In the meantime, he collected perhaps $100, and he paused for a moment in an alley to admire his winnings. Then he decided on what to do.

After about forty or fifty minutes, Paul was standing at an indoor range, loading a magazine of simple, cheap 5.56x45mm ammo into the Athena rifle. First he checked out the sights; aperature with a hooded post. Nice. Then he decided it was time to start testing. He kept the penny in his mouth so he would hear it if anyone started talking, and then he squeezed the trigger on the rifle for the first time. Immediately he decided he liked this rifle.

"In case you couldn't guess, Athena, don't say anything at the moment," Paul added during an extended burst of fire.

The Sage nodded. "It'd be best to do that... well, I know an abandoned lot a couple blocks down. And I'm pretty sure you've had contact with him. You were both fighting against Helmsborough earlier." He stood and began to walk to the abandoned lot in question.

"Ask your Warlock. The old ones seem to understand all this better than we do," Takeshi suggested.
