Ashram: I understand what you're saying. It's just to say that most people don't make that type of argument.

Every person, when they get married has a lot of rights. As I said, they get the right to make decisions for their spouse at hospitals as well as having the right not to testify in court against their spouse. They also have the right to sue or bring someone to court for harming or killing their spouse.

Same-sex couples can't do that just because of their sexuality and are seens as complete strangers under the law.

^^; Well on to the business thing... Some businesses already do offer the same-sex couples at not a very large cast to themselves. Or at least from what I've read from an essay that has been reprinted in articles and essay antholgies as well as critical thinking classes.

If the basis of marriage and giving rights to people who are married is based on whether or not they can procreate then there are no reasons for infertile couples to be married. Anyways, I think there's a major problem of being overpopulated. There ARE children who need to be adopted but aren't.

But I'm not going to get into this anymore since well.. this IS really off-topic. Sorry everybody.

Actually I keep those bookmarked because it's a very common occurance that I would need them in the Politics forum. Of course I'm currently on hiatus due to the forum being general s**t.

Yes well both the right and left have their posters worth and unworthy of my respect. The worst bit of it is that I'm the elected "President" of ED-P.

The verse in the Bible against homosexuality is from the same book that says woman need to sacrifice a dove after every time they have their period.
It also specifically refers to male/male homosexualtiy. It says that it's a sin for men and woman to have sex with animals right after it, so clearly it's not using "men" to refer to all people.
I find those those old law book intresting, but there are some that I find the law itself to be immoral. For example in Detormony, if a virgin bethrothed to be married is raped in the city, she should be stoned to death because apparently she didn't yell for help so she must have been enjoying it or something. What if she yelled for help but no one heard her? Or someone heard her but didn't get there until after she was raped? Or the rapist could have gaged her or maybe she was too afarid to yell for help.
